Raipur : In a powerful showcase of its growing innovation economy, the Government of Chhattisgarh’s Department of Commerce and Industries hosted “Chhattisgarh TechStart 2025”, a landmark initiative designed to connect startups, investors, and technology enablers while positioning the state as a rising hub for IT and ITeS investments.

The event, held in Nava Raipur, sought to strengthen the state’s profile as a preferred destination for digital industries, tech-enabled services, and innovation-driven enterprises.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai outlined his vision for an innovation-led Chhattisgarh, stating that the state is “entering a new era of growth — one driven by innovation.” He added, “Through Chhattisgarh TechStart, we aim to build a bridge between ideas and investments, creating opportunities that empower our youth and accelerate economic transformation.”

Highlighting the momentum of industrial progress, the Chief Minister revealed that Chhattisgarh has received investment proposals worth ₹7.5 lakh crore in the last ten months, a reflection of the growing investor confidence in the state. The Industrial Development Policy 2024–30, he noted, is designed to be investor-friendly and pro-development, fostering both industrial expansion and entrepreneurship across emerging sectors.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment, Minister of Commerce & Industries Shri Lakhan Lal Dewangan emphasized the state’s focus on nurturing a robust technology ecosystem. “Our focus is on creating an environment where startups can thrive and investors can find scalable opportunities in Chhattisgarh,” he said.

The event brought together senior officials from Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) and MeitY Startup Hub, along with leading voices from India’s technology and innovation community. Discussions centered on collaboration opportunities, digital transformation strategies, and investment partnerships in the IT and ITeS domains.

More than 250 investors, incubators, and innovators from across India participated, marking one of the state’s largest innovation networking events to date. With its strong digital infrastructure and strategic location, Chhattisgarh is rapidly emerging as a magnet for next-generation investments — including India’s first AI Data Centre Park and the state’s first Semiconductor Manufacturing Unit, both coming up in Nava Raipur. These flagship projects are expected to transform the state into a nucleus for advanced technology, data innovation, and high-value employment.

Key Announcements

The state government announced six strategic partnerships to accelerate startup and innovation growth — with the MeitY Startup Hub, National Innovation Foundation, Wadhwani Foundation, NASSCOM Foundation, Startup Middle East, and Carve Startup Labs. These collaborations aim to connect Chhattisgarh’s startups with mentorship, global networks, and funding access, bridging the gap between innovation and opportunity.

Startup Incentives under the Industrial Development Policy 2024–30

The startup support package unveiled under the new policy includes Seed funding of up to ₹5 lakh per startup, Operational support of up to ₹3 lakh after six months of functioning, and Development support of up to ₹3 lakh after 18 months.

To further bolster entrepreneurship, the government has instituted a ₹50 crore Startup Corpus Fund and a ₹50 crore Credit Risk Fund, alongside a 40% rental subsidy for three years and 100% stamp duty exemption for startups.

For incubators, the state announced capital assistance of up to ₹40 lakh and annual operational support of ₹3–5 lakh for five years, ensuring sustained ecosystem development and institutional continuity.

The event concluded with the felicitation of Chhattisgarh Ideathon 2025 winners, recognizing visionary innovators and incubators who are shaping the state’s entrepreneurial future.

The Chief Minister spoke over the phone with the Bilaspur District Collector, seeking detailed information about the incident and directing officials to provide all possible assistance to those impacted. He instructed that immediate medical aid be ensured for the injured and that every possible support be extended to the bereaved families.

Young Innovators Shaping the State’s Technological Future – CM Honours Ideathon 2025 Winners

Raipur : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today attended the “Chhattisgarh TechStart 2025” event held at the Mayfair Hotel in Nava Raipur. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that the Tech Start initiative marks a significant effort to steer the state toward innovation-driven technological entrepreneurship.

During the event, he honoured the winners of Ideathon 2025 and handed over partnership exchange agreements to organisations collaborating with the Government of Chhattisgarh. Extending greetings to experts from the technology sector, entrepreneurs, and intellectuals on the occasion of the State’s Silver Jubilee Year, the Chief Minister emphasised the growing importance of technology-led growth in the region.

*Inspired by the Vision of a Developed India*

Chief Minister Sai said that India’s visionary Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently inspired the nation to set ambitious goals and achieve them with determination. Drawing inspiration from the Prime Minister’s call for a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India), the state government has set a target to build a “Developed Chhattisgarh by 2047.” A comprehensive Vision Document has already been prepared to guide this transformation, he added.

The Chief Minister noted that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India now hosts hundreds of thousands of startups, many of which have achieved unicorn status. “The Government of Chhattisgarh is fully committed to fostering the spirit of entrepreneurship among youth,” he affirmed.

*Youth Power and a Growing Investment Climate*

Highlighting the resilience of the state’s youth, the Chief Minister said that “young people of Chhattisgarh possess the remarkable ability to excel even under the most challenging circumstances.” Citing examples, he mentioned Akanksha Satyavanshi, a daughter of the state who serves as the physiotherapist of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, and Squadron Leader Gaurav Patel, who will pilot a fighter aircraft during the Nava Raipur Air Show, bringing pride to the state.

He further informed that the government has implemented over 350 reforms to strengthen the Ease of Doing Business and Single Window System, positioning Chhattisgarh among India’s most attractive investment destinations. Alongside rapid industrial growth, the state is advancing swiftly in the IT and ITES sectors.

1800 Innovative Ideas and a Vision for an AI Future

Discussing the recently concluded Ideathon 2025, Chief Minister Sai said that over 1,800 startup ideas were received from across the state, including from youth in remote regions – a participation he described as “remarkable and inspiring.”

He announced that the government will provide these innovators with a platform, mentorship, and financial support. “Raipur is being developed as a hub for IT and technology services,” he said, noting that projects such as the AI Data Centre Park and a semiconductor plant are progressing rapidly.

Expressing satisfaction, the Chief Minister shared that investment proposals exceeding ₹ 7.5 lakh crore have already been received by the state. He also spoke at length about expanding economic activity and job creation for youth.

“The Government of Chhattisgarh stands firmly with entrepreneurs,” he said. “Your hard work and talent will elevate Chhattisgarh’s name on the global stage; your success will be the pride of our state.”

Industrial Policy 2024 Anchored to Vision 2047

Chief Secretary Vikas Sheel said that the New Industrial Policy 2024 aims to promote entrepreneurship and align development with the state’s Vision 2047 framework. The policy, he said, places special emphasis on innovation, investment, employment, and startup growth.

He highlighted the importance of working in emerging domains such as E-waste management, rising industrial sectors, and skill development, and invited entrepreneurs to share their ideas and suggestions.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment, the Chief Secretary added, “We are determined to make Chhattisgarh a hub of technological and industrial advancement through constant collaboration with young innovators and entrepreneurs.” He urged that dialogue between industry and government should be continuous rather than confined to special occasions.

CM Honours Ideathon 2025 Winners

At the Tech Start event, Chief Minister Sai presented awards to the winners of Ideathon 2025. Commending the young innovators, he said, “It is deeply encouraging to see youth engaged in innovation – it fortifies the technological future of our state.”

He felicitated NIT Raipur, Rungta Business Incubator, and IGKVR for their outstanding performance as incubators.

Among the award winners, Adarsh Verma received the First Prize for his innovative idea to develop a Smart Band for Persons with Disabilities, designed to assist differently-abled individuals through advanced sensing and alert mechanisms. The Second Prize went to Jagruti and Narendra Sharma for their concept titled “Atal Kavach Tree Guard” — a creative and eco-friendly protective design aimed at safeguarding roadside plants while maintaining aesthetic and functional appeal.

The Third Prize was awarded to Atharv Dubey for his idea of a Smart Safety Helmet, which integrates safety features with technology to enhance rider protection and accident prevention.He also honoured Nipun Verma and Anushka Sonkar for their innovative concepts. Further recognition was given to Karan Chandrakar for the Agrofeb Sustainable Startup;Sajal Malhotra for the Vertex Suite innovation; and Amit Patel for the AI-based startup Lairc AI.

During the event, the Chief Minister handed over Partnership Exchange Agreements between the Government of Chhattisgarh and the following organisations:MeitY Startup Hub, National Innovation Foundation, Wadhwani Foundation, NASSCOM Foundation, Startup Middle East, and Carv Startup Lab.

AI Exhibition: CM Encourages Young Tech Entrepreneurs

Chief Minister Sai also visited the AI (Artificial Intelligence) Innovation Exhibition at the venue, reviewing technology models, software applications, and solutions developed by startup teams. “A new horizon opens for Chhattisgarh’s youth in archery,” says Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai

Raipur : The quiet hills of Jashpur are set to echo with the thrum of bowstrings. In a significant move for sports development, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today witnessed the signing of an agreement between the Jashpur district administration and NTPC Limited to establish a state-of-the-art Archery Academy at Sanna Pandarapath in Bagicha block.

The ₹20.53-crore project, to be executed under NTPC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, will train a new generation of archers from tribal and rural communities. Collector Rohit Vyas and Bilash Mohanty, NTPC’s Additional General Manager (Human Resources), were present at the signing ceremony held at the Chief Minister’s camp office in Bagiya.

“This initiative will open new doors for Chhattisgarh’s youth,” said Sai, lauding NTPC’s contribution. “Jashpur has immense potential in archery, and this academy will give our young athletes the platform, training, and facilities to shine at the national and international level.”

He linked the move to India’s bid for hosting the 2036 Olympic Games, saying, “We want to see Chhattisgarh’s players on India’s Olympic team—winning medals, making the state and the nation proud. That vision begins with institutions like this.”

Chief Minister Shri Sai reiterated the state’s incentive policy for Olympic medalists — ₹3 crore for gold, ₹2 crore for silver, and ₹1 crore for bronze — and noted that the Rajya Khel Alankaran has been revived to recognize exceptional talent. He added that new Khelo India training hubs are being launched, with a focus on developing sports infrastructure in tribal regions.

“Archery is not new to us, it is woven into India’s cultural and mythological legacy,” Sai said, citing Mahabharata and Ramayana. “Now, we must blend that timeless skill with modern science and coaching to craft world-class archers.”

Spanning 10.27 acres, the Sanna Pandarapath academy will include an outdoor archery range, athlete hostels, staff quarters, a skills development center, organic nursery, herbal plantation, library, medical facility, and training grounds — a complete ecosystem to nurture talent and discipline under one roof.

Four projects worth ₹4.16 crore inaugurated; Foundation stone laid for nine projects worth ₹36.72 crore

Raipur : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai gave a fresh momentum to the all-round development of Farsabahar region in Jashpur district, inaugurating and laying foundation stones for 13 development projects worth ₹40 crore 89 lakh 26 thousand. The portfolio includes four completed projects worth ₹4 crore 16 lakh 41 thousand inaugurated and nine new works worth ₹36 crore 72 lakh 85 thousand for which foundation stones were laid.

Among the inaugurated works were 1.70 km road from Maskamara to Lavakera main road, built at a cost of ₹1 crore 81 lakh 32 thousand; The Ambakchar approach road (1.00 km) in Jashpur district constructed at a cost of ₹1 crore 29 lakh 56 thousand;The Mundadih approach road (0.90 km) in Jashpur, executed at a cost of ₹95 lakh 53 thousand.

For the foundation-laying segment, the Chief Minister inaugurated groundwork for nine new development initiatives valued at ₹36 crore 72 lakh 85 thousand, including Sludge Treatment Plant worth ₹31 lakh 38 thousand; The Pamsala–Saraïtola 11.50 km road construction, the largest of the lot, valued at ₹23 crore 96 lakh 94 thousand; Rest House building at Farsabahar worth ₹1 crore 72 lakh 55 thousand; A Post-Matric Tribal Boys Hostel building at Kolhenjhariya worth ₹1 crore 91 lakh 51 thousand; Another Post-Matric Tribal Boys Hostel building at Farsabahar worth ₹1 crore 91 lakh 51 thousand; A Pre-Matric Tribal Boys Hostel building at Lavakera worth ₹1 crore 52 lakh 97 thousand; A Pre-Matric Tribal Boys Hostel building at Pandripani worth ₹1 crore 52 lakh 97 thousand; A Post-Matric Tribal Boys Hostel building at Pandripani worth ₹1 crore 91 lakh 51 thousand; and A Pre-Matric Tribal Boys Hostel building at Tapkara worth ₹1 crore 91 lakh 51 thousand.

Raipur : In a landmark moment for Chhattisgarh’s anti-Naxal campaign, 210 Maoist cadres from the Dandakaranya region have surrendered under the state’s comprehensive Poona Margham – Rehabilitation to Rebirth programme. The historic development comes as part of the government’s sustained efforts focused on peace, dialogue, and development across Bastar division.

The surrender marks the dawn of a new era of trust, security, and progress in Bastar. For the long-troubled regions of Abujhmad and North Bastar, this unprecedented mass surrender will be recorded as a decisive turning point in the history of the Naxal eradication drive.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the state’s multi-dimensional anti-Naxal strategy has laid a solid foundation for lasting peace in the region. Through coordinated efforts by the police, security forces, local administration, social organisations, and vigilant citizens, a culture of violence is being transformed into a culture of dialogue and development.

For the first time in the history of the anti-Naxal movement, such a large number of senior Maoist cadres have laid down arms together. Among the 210 surrendering cadres are one Central Committee member, four Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee (DKSZC) members, 21 Divisional Committee members, and several other senior Maoist leaders. They surrendered a total of 153 sophisticated weapons, including AK-47s, SLRs, INSAS rifles, and LMGs. This is not merely a surrender of arms, but a symbolic end to an era of fear and bloodshed — a declaration of a new chapter of peace and trust in Bastar.

Prominent Maoist leaders returning to the mainstream include CCM Rupesh alias Satish, DKSZC member Bhaskar alias Rajman Mandavi, Ranita, Raju Salam, Dhannu Vetti alias Santu, and Ratan Elam, among other wanted and rewarded cadres. Each of them expressed faith in the Constitution and resolved to lead a dignified life within the democratic framework.

The ceremony was held at the Jagdalpur Police Lines, where the surrendered cadres were welcomed through the traditional Manjhi-Chalki ritual. They were presented with copies of the Constitution and red roses — symbols of peace, love, and a new beginning.

Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam, addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest, said “Poona Margham is not just about moving away from Naxalism — it is about giving life a new direction. Those who have returned today will become ambassadors of peace, development, and trust in Bastar.”

He urged the surrendered cadres to channel their energy toward rebuilding society and contributing to the region’s growth.

Also present were ADG (Naxal Operations) Vivekanand Sinha, Commissioner Doman Singh, IG Bastar Range SundarRaj P., Collector Haris S., Superintendents of Police from across Bastar division, senior officers, and representatives from social organisations.

During the programme, the police department briefed the surrendered cadres on various rehabilitation schemes, including financial assistance, housing, and livelihood opportunities. The state government reiterated its commitment to link them with self-employment, skill development, and education initiatives, enabling them to lead self-reliant and dignified lives.

Representatives of Manjhi-Chalki communities emphasized that Bastar’s tradition has always stood for peace, coexistence, and harmony. They said that those who have now returned will strengthen these values and reinforce the foundations of trust within society.

The event concluded with all surrendered cadres taking an oath of allegiance to the Constitution and pledging their commitment to democratic values. They vowed to contribute to development and nation-building instead of violence.

Raipur : Today marks a historic day not only for Bastar but for the entire state of Chhattisgarh and the nation. A total of 210 Maoist cadres, who had lived for years under the shadow of violence and fear, have renounced arms and embraced the Constitution under the “Poona Margem – From Rehabilitation to Rejuvenation” programme. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, addressing a press conference in Jagdalpur, said this event heralds a new era of peace, trust and development in Chhattisgarh.

CM Sai said that the youth who were once trapped in the false ideology of Maoism have now reposed their faith in the power of democracy, the ideals of the Constitution, and the sensitive policies of the State Government by returning to the social mainstream.

Significantly, among the 210 surrendered Maoists are one Central Committee member, four Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee members, one Regional Committee member, 22 Divisional Committee members, 61 Area Committee members, and 98 Party members. They collectively carried a reward of ₹9.18 crore.

During the ceremony, the 210 cadres surrendered 153 weapons, including 19 AK-47s, 17 SLRs, 23 INSAS rifles, one INSAS LMG, 36 .303 rifles, four carbines, 11 BGL launchers, 41 shotguns, and one pistol.

Calling the moment one of the most emotional and satisfying in his life, CM Sai said, “The youth who laid down their guns and picked up the Constitution have sown the seeds of peace and unity in the future of Chhattisgarh. Change comes through policy and trust, not through fear and violence.”

He emphasized that the State Government’s initiatives such as the Naxalite Surrender and Rehabilitation Policy 2025, Niyad Nella Nar Yojana, and Poona Margem – From Rehabilitation to Rejuvenation have become the strong foundation of transformation not just in Bastar but across Chhattisgarh. “These policies have replaced guns and gunpowder with dialogue, sensitivity and development,” he said.

Terming the event a result of coordinated efforts, CM Sai said, “This unprecedented surrender is the outcome of joint efforts by the Central and State Governments. The police, security forces, local administration, social organizations and civil society have together achieved a transformation that will be remembered as a milestone in Bastar’s history.”

He further stated that this scene is not just an inspiration for Bastar but for the entire country — “When intentions are pure and policies are people-centric, the end of violence and the beginning of peace become possible.” CM Sai described this collective surrender as the biggest success in the history of Bastar’s anti-Naxal campaign.

Calling it a decisive step toward eradicating the roots of violence, CM Sai said, “In Abujhmad and North Bastar, where once fear ruled, faith now prevails. Those who once hid in the forests are today contributing to building society.”

The Chief Minister reaffirmed that the double-engine government is firmly committed to making Chhattisgarh completely free of Naxalism. “Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, we are moving rapidly toward this goal. The transformation in Bastar is proof of this resolve,” he said.

CM Sai assured that the State Government is fully committed to the rehabilitation and reintegration of the surrendered cadres. “Every individual will be provided opportunities for self-employment, training, housing, education and livelihood so that they can lead a dignified life and play an active role in society’s development,” he added.

He underlined that this mass surrender embodies the spirit of Poona Margem – From Rehabilitation to Rejuvenation, which conveys that the path of change lies in trust, not violence. “This programme will now bring new energy to Bastar in the fields of rehabilitation, education, health and livelihood improvement,” he noted.

Calling it a defining moment in Bastar’s history, CM Sai said, “This historic event proves that when government policies are sensitive and people-oriented, even the toughest problems can be solved. Our goal is not just to end Naxalism, but to build a new Bastar — where every home has faith and every heart has the light of development.”

He expressed gratitude to the people of the region, public representatives, the media, security forces and civil society for their cooperation. “The journey of peace, development and prosperity will be sustainable only when every section of society embraces this spirit of transformation,” he said.

Collector–SP Conference: CM issues stern directives on law and order, narcotics control, and road safety

Raipur : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that the image of the police should be such that it instills fear among criminals and a sense of safety among citizens. The Chief Minister was addressing the Collector–SP Conference held today at the Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhavan).

The conference reviewed the overall law-and-order situation in the state, narcotics control, road safety, cybercrime prevention, and measures to strengthen administrative coordination. Present on the occasion were Home Minister Vijay Sharma, Chief Secretary Vikas Sheel, Additional Chief Secretary Manoj Pingua, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, DGP Arun Dev Gautam and other senior officials.

Law and Order: CM warns of strict accountability

Chief Minister Sai said that maintaining law and order in districts requires equal coordination between the Collector and Superintendent of Police (SP). He observed that districts where both officers work in synergy show better outcomes. He cautioned that any negligence in maintaining law and order will be treated as administrative indifference, and stern disciplinary action will follow.

The Chief Minister directed officials to adopt a zero-tolerance policy toward public disorder, knife attacks, murders, and other heinous crimes. He instructed that strict surveillance be maintained over cow smuggling and illegal religious conversions, with swift and tough action against offenders. He further advised that the best-performing districts in crime control be treated as model examples for replication in other regions.

War on Drugs: Narcotics eradication to remain top priority

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai took a firm stance on tackling drug abuse and illegal narcotics trafficking, calling them “the root of all crimes.” He instructed officers to launch a statewide campaign under NCORD (National Coordination on Drug Control), focusing on border districts and ensuring timely legal action under the NDPS Act.

He further emphasized conducting public awareness drives, especially among youth, to educate them about the dangers of substance abuse and its social impact. “Eradicating addiction is the first condition for restoring law and order,” he stated firmly.

The Chief Minister informed that a Special Task Force (STF) has been constituted to identify and control illegal infiltrators in the state. He directed intensive checks in border districts and immediate action on suspicious activities. “Ignoring smaller crimes often breeds major ones — every case must be addressed within a fixed timeframe,” he cautioned.

Rehabilitation of Surrendered Maoists

The meeting also discussed the rehabilitation and livelihood empowerment of surrendered Maoists. CM Sai said that building trust in the government’s rehabilitation policy remains a top priority. He instructed that surrendered Maoists be provided skill development training and linked to local employment or self-employment opportunities, enabling them to live with dignity in the mainstream.

Road Safety: CM calls for strict enforcement

The Collector–SP Conference witnessed in-depth discussions on improving road safety. The Chief Minister called for strict enforcement against traffic violations, including those not wearing helmets or seatbelts. Directions were issued to identify and correct accident-prone black spots, prohibit the use of DJs and loudspeakers after 10 PM, and take punitive action against drunk driving.

Officials were also asked to take effective measures to prevent accidents caused by stray animals. “Every accident is preventable if discipline and awareness go hand in hand,” CM Sai said.

Cybercrime: Modern threat requires modern response

Expressing concern over the rising cybercrime menace, the Chief Minister said it has become the most complex challenge of the modern era. He stressed the need for continuous technical training for police personnel to deal with emerging threats.

He directed that the cyber helpline number be publicized widely with the support of the Public Relations Department, and that awareness campaigns be launched in every district to protect citizens from phishing, online fraud, and digital scams.

Collector–DFO Conference: Need to Increase the Number of Van Dhan Kendras Across the State

Raipur : A joint Collector–DFO Conference was held today at the Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhavan) under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. The meeting witnessed detailed discussions on forest management, welfare of tendu leaf collectors, value addition of minor forest produce, eco-tourism, cultivation of medicinal plants, and diverse livelihood dimensions linked to forests.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that the number of registered tendu leaf collectors in the state has now crossed 1.2 million (12 lakh), which is a testament to the success of collective administrative efforts. “You all deserve appreciation for this remarkable achievement,” he remarked.

The Chief Minister said that the focus must now shift towards maximum value addition of forest produce. He emphasized the need to increase the number of Van Dhan Kendras across the state to create additional income opportunities for forest dwellers and empower them toward self-reliance.

CM Sai further informed that the state’s forest cover has now reached 46 percent, reflecting an impressive growth of nearly two percent. He credited this achievement to initiatives such as the CAMPA scheme and the innovative ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ (One Tree in Mother’s Name) campaign. The conference also directed district officers to ensure that tendu leaf collectors receive payments within 7 to 15 days, and that SMS notifications are sent directly to the collectors’ mobile phones to maintain transparency. It was reported that data of around 1.56 million (15.6 lakh) collectors has already been digitized and that all payments are being made through bank transfers. The Chief Minister instructed officials to further accelerate the complete computerization of the tendu leaf procurement process.

The conference also deliberated on the expansion of medicinal plant cultivation through promotional activities and suggested involving field staff from the Agriculture and Horticulture Departments for effective implementation.

A detailed review of tendu leaf collection during the previous season was presented for Bijapur, Sukma, and Narayanpur districts. Officials were instructed to prepare advance action plans for the upcoming season to ensure timely benefits to collectors and avoid any delays.

Support for Startups Based on Minor Forest Produce and Van Dhan Kendras

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that minor forest produce (MFP) should be developed as a major source of livelihood in forest-dominated regions. The meeting held extensive discussions on promoting MFP-based startups and strengthening Van Dhan Kendras, aiming to give new direction to the rural economy.

Special emphasis was laid on marketing and branding of Chhattisgarh Herbal and Sanjeevani products. Instructions were issued to expand their sales networks in both rural and urban markets to create a strong market base for local products. The Chief Minister also directed that the process of organic certification for these products be expedited to enhance credibility and access to national and global markets.

Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap said that effective results can be achieved if Collectors and Forest Officers work in close coordination. He added that special efforts are being made to promote eco-tourism in Bastar and Surguja divisions, and that a robust strategy is needed to link eco-tourism with livelihood generation.

Minister Kashyap informed that the state government is now set to procure 75 varieties of minor forest produce, which will give a significant boost to the rural economy. New Initiative to Expand Medicinal Plant Cultivation

The meeting also focused on promoting medicinal plant cultivation across the state. Directions were given to design a special plan for the purpose. Detailed discussions were held with the DFOs of Dhamtari, Mungeli, and Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi (GPM) districts regarding the expansion of medicinal plantations and community participation.

Officials noted that the cultivation of medicinal plants would not only enhance livelihoods but also preserve and promote traditional healing knowledge. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Medicinal Plants Board gave a detailed presentation on the opportunities available in this sector and its potential to increase household incomes in forest-dependent regions.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that innovations should be practical, sustainable, and enhance citizen convenience while complementing the government’s flagship schemes. The State Government welcomes innovations, but basic administrative work must not be compromised. He emphasized that “Innovations should not turn into whimsical experiments, but rather become instruments for simplifying citizens’ lives.”

Emphasis on sustainable and practical innovations

The Chief Minister directed Collectors to ensure that every innovation includes people’s participation and is regularly reviewed through feedback. He noted that often innovations introduced in districts lose relevance after administrative transfers, hence the focus should be on continuity and usability. He stressed that the objective of innovation must always be to strengthen transparency and public service delivery.

Chief Minister Sai described the Public Service Guarantee Act as one of the most important initiatives of his government. He directed that all services must be delivered within stipulated timelines and of assured quality. “If there is any delay, officers will be held accountable under the provisions of the Act,” he said, adding that the next review meeting will examine how many cases were resolved on time and how many officers faced action.

Focus on office discipline and cleanliness

Praising the initiative “Purge Old Records” launched by the Department of Good Governance and Convergence, the Chief Minister said that heaps of outdated files in offices not only consume unnecessary space but also create a poor public impression. He instructed Collectors to ensure that government offices remain clean, organized, and efficient to strengthen transparency and administrative credibility.

Ensure 100% implementation of the E-Office system

The Chief Minister described the E-Office system as a cornerstone of good governance. He directed all departments to achieve full implementation within the prescribed deadline. Reducing dependence on manual processes, he said, is crucial to ensure accountability. All pending files must be transitioned to digital format to bring speed, transparency, and better tracking into administration.

Promotion of e-District portal and digital governance

Chief Minister Sai said, “This is the era of digital governance.” He instructed Collectors to ensure that the e-District portal provides maximum citizen services online. Field visits must become a continuous and institutional process. “Just as one cannot gauge the depth of water without diving in, one cannot understand the ground reality of schemes without visiting the field,” he remarked. Chief Minister Sai released a Coffee Table Book on district-level innovations and appreciated the efforts of officers who have implemented impactful, result-oriented initiatives at the grassroots level.

The success of the ‘JashPure’ brand, known for its nutritious products, was highlighted during the event. Jashpur hosts India’s first Mahua Centre of Excellence, which has positioned mahua as a superfood and created awareness about its nutritional value. JashPure products are now sold across five states, recording a 300% increase in sales. Chief Minister Sai also praised Narayanpur’s ‘Data Platform’, which effectively tracks Naxal activities, and Dantewada’s blockchain-based digitization of seven lakh land records, ensuring transparency and faster resolution. He lauded the Hi-Tech administrative systems in Abujhmad and Dantewada, calling them models for “Modern Chhattisgarh.”

Balod becomes the country’s first child marriage-free district; 75 panchayats of Surajpur also join the list

Raipur : Under the “Child Marriage-Free India” national campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 27, 2024, Chhattisgarh has achieved a historic milestone. Balod district has become the first district in the country to be officially declared child marriage-free. All 436 gram panchayats and 09 urban bodies of Balod district have been formally issued certificates.

Balod sets a national example

In the past two years, not a single case of child marriage has been reported from Balod district. After verification of documents and completion of the legal process, all panchayats and urban bodies of the district have now been awarded child marriage-free status. With this unprecedented achievement, Balod has become a model for the entire nation.

Balod District Collector Smt. Divya Umesh Mishra said that this achievement is the result of collective participation by the administration, public representatives, Anganwadi workers, and the community. Raipur : On a one-day visit to Korba district, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai participated in the Shri Ram Katha Mahotsav held at the Bhawani Temple premises in Korba city. He paid respects to Jagadguru Shri Shri 1008 Ramabhadracharya, who had come to deliver the Ram Katha discourse, and received his blessings, praying for the peace and prosperity of the people of Chhattisgarh.

Addressing the devotees present, Chief Minister Shri Sai extended greetings on the occasion of Navratri and Dussehra. He said the arrival of the Jagadguru had sanctified the land of Korba, the energy capital of the state, and that his blessings would always remain with the people.

Shri Sai underlined that Chhattisgarh’s sacred soil is the maternal home of Mata Kaushalya and the nanihal (maternal grandparents’ home) of Lord Shri Ram. During their exile, Shri Ram, Mata Sita, and brother Lakshman had spent most of their time in this very region.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, “Modi’s Guarantees” are being implemented rapidly in Chhattisgarh. At the newly built Kaushalya Dham Temple, the Chief Minister performed rituals and prayed for the happiness, peace, and prosperity of the state. Amid Vedic chants, he offered shreephal, flowers, sandalwood, and fruits to the idol of Mata Bhawani and performed aarti. He then bowed before the idol of Mata Kaushalya, depicted holding child Ram in her lap — the main attraction of the temple. The Chief Minister inspected the temple premises, praised the construction work, and interacted warmly with devotees present there. Local residents and public representatives extended him a heartfelt welcome.

During his Korba tour, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai also participated in the Ramleela Mahotsav at the Ghantaghar Open Theatre Ground. He extended warm greetings of Navratri to the townspeople and prayed for happiness, peace, and prosperity in everyone’s life.

He said Navratri is a festival of devotion, power, and harmony, celebrated through the worship of the nine forms of the Goddess. Chief Minister attends Maitri Mahotsav: felicitates achievers, unveils logo of Acharya Vidyasagar Kalyan Seva Sanstha

Raipur : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today attended the Maitri Mahotsav organised by the Sakal Digambar Jain Samaj in the state capital Raipur. The Guru Sharanam – Maitri Mahotsav – Kshamadan Utsav was held at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium under the auspicious presence of Pujya Aryikaratna 105 Antarmati Mataji Sasangha. MLA Rajesh Munat, office bearers of the Jain community and a large number of dignitaries were present.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai offered a Shreephal to Pujya Aryikaratna 105 Antarmati Mataji Sasangha and sought her blessings. He was felicitated with the traditional Jain turban and stole. The Chief Minister also honoured individuals for their outstanding work in various fields and unveiled the logo of Acharya Vidyasagar Kalyan Seva Sanstha.

CM Vishnu Deo Sai said that the Maitri Mahotsav is not just an event but a sacred occasion for inner awakening and purification. He said that the holy land of India has not only been the cradle of civilisation and culture but also a living laboratory of spirituality. “Here, religion is not confined to rituals or worship alone; it is the very art of living,” he remarked.

CM Sai underlined that Lord Mahavir Swami gave the timeless message of “Live and let live.” Referring to the recently observed Kshamadan Parv, he said its essence lies in the principle of ‘Uttam Kshama, Sabse Kshama aur Sabko Kshama’ (supreme forgiveness, forgiveness towards all and by all), which reflects greatness and embodies the message of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. He stressed that Jainism has beautifully and profoundly articulated this philosophy.

Sai praised the Jain community as a benevolent society and expressed confidence that Chhattisgarh will continue to benefit from its spirit of service.

Highlighting the core values of ahimsa, aparigraha and anekant, Chief Minister Shri Sai said these are the foundations of a harmonious society. “I bow to the revered saints who, through restraint, penance and spiritual practice, have guided society,” he said, while paying homage to Acharya Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj and acknowledging the gracious presence of Pujya Aryikaratna 105 Antarmati Mataji Sasangha.CM Sai described Acharya Vidyasagar Ji’s philosophy as a source of inspiration. “He taught us that true religion lies in renunciation, service and self-restraint. It is the good fortune of Chhattisgarh that Acharya Ji spent many years of his austere spiritual practice here and attained samadhi at Chandragiri Tirth,” he noted.

He further said that the ideals given by Jain Tirthankaras – Ahimsa Parmo Dharma, Anekantavad, Satya and Sanyam – are not only the heritage of the Jain community but also the very soul of the nation.

During the event, President of Sakal Digambar Jain Samaj, Vinod Barjatya, shared details of the Acharya Vidyasagar Kalyan Yojana being implemented by the Sanstha and appealed to members of the community to join the initiative. CII President Sanjay Barjatya also addressed the gathering.

The Chief Minister honoured Manish Jain for his contribution to the construction and preservation of Jain pilgrimage sites, Vijay Godha for his services in Ayurveda, and Sunil Sangolia for his work in social service. He also unveiled the Guru Smriti engraved in silver and the Haiku composed by Acharya Vidyasagar, which too has been inscribed on silver.

The event was attended by several prominent office bearers and members of the Jain community, including Narendra Jain, Yashwant Jain, Ratanlal Barjatya and Sudhir Bakliwal, along with a large number of distinguished citizens.

Raipur : Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday listened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 126th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ at Sindhu Palace in Shankar Nagar, Raipur. On the occasion, he said that ‘Mann Ki Baat’ has become a powerful medium to connect millions of citizens, inspire them, and bring forth innovation and good practices.

CM Sai paid homage to revolutionary martyr Bhagat Singh and legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar on their birth anniversaries, recalling their invaluable contributions. Extending greetings to people of the state on the auspicious festival of Navratri, he said that the occasion of Shakti worship reinforces the nation’s collective spirit.

Chief Minister Shri Sai noted that during the programme, the Prime Minister mentioned the extraordinary feat of two courageous women officers — Lieutenant Commander Dilna and Lieutenant Commander Roopa — who successfully completed the ‘Navika Sagar Parikrama.’ The duo sailed 47,500 km over 238 days, hoisting the tricolour at the world’s most remote location, ‘Nemo Point,’ and brought immense pride to the nation.

CM Vishnu Deo Sai listens to PM Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ 126th episodeSpeaking about ongoing reforms, CM Sai said that the country is celebrating the ‘GST Savings Festival.’ Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, GST rate cuts have provided major relief to citizens — from daily essentials to vehicles, farm equipment and machinery. He added that the PM has been consistently calling for building an Atmanirbhar Bharat, where promoting swadeshi products is a key step.

“When we buy swadeshi products, we are not just purchasing items — we are honouring a family’s hope, a craftsman’s hard work and an entrepreneur’s dream,” the CM said. He further noted that khadi has gained remarkable popularity in recent years, urging everyone to adopt khadi clothing and products in daily life.

The event was attended by MLA Purandar Mishra, CGMSC Chairman Deepak Mhaske, Chhattisgarh State Minority Commission Chairman Amarjeet Chhabra, along with a large number of dignitaries and citizens.
