CM launches trailer of first film on Gomata, ‘Godaan’

CM announces film ‘Godaan’ to be tax-free in Chhattisgarh

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday launched the trailer of the first film based on Gaumata- Cow, titled Godaan, at the Chief Minister’s Residence Office in the state capital Raipur. On the occasion, CM Shri Sai said the government is committed to the protection and promotion of Gaumata. He said Gaumata is not only spiritually revered but also holds immense economic and scientific significance. The Chief Minister announced that the film Godaan will be made tax-free in Chhattisgarh.

Speaking at the trailer launch, CM Shri Sai said extensive work is being carried out in Chhattisgarh for cattle development. The grant provided for fodder for cows in gaushalas has been increased from Rs 20 to Rs 35, and financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh is now being given to gaushalas. He said the government is also establishing Godhams, where proper care of stray cattle is being ensured.

The Chief Minister said it is believed that Gomata is the abode of 33 crore deities. Panchgavya is used before every ritual. He expressed happiness that the trailer of the first film centred on Gaumata, Godaan, has been launched. Through this film, people will get an opportunity to better understand the importance of Gaumata. He congratulated everyone associated with the film.

CM Shri Sai said there is a need to raise mass awareness about the importance of Gaumata. Organic manure made from cow dung forms the foundation of organic farming. Through the 2.90 hours long film, the message of cattle conservation will reach audiences. He said cinema is a powerful medium through which positive messages can be conveyed to a large audience.

The Chief Minister also launched the film’s poster and the song ‘Gau Mata ke pranon ko bacha lo deshvasiyon’. He also unveiled a gift pack of Panchgavya products. The film Godaan, produced by Kamdhenu Film Productions and portraying the significance of Gaumata, will be released in Indian cinemas on February 6.

Chief Minister Unfurls Tricolour in Bilaspur on Republic Day

Raipur : The 77th Republic Day was celebrated across Chhattisgarh on Monday with enthusiasm, patriotism, and a deep sense of pride, reaffirming the ideals of a strong democracy, the supremacy of the Constitution, and the collective resolve to build a developed Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai unfurled the national flag at the main Republic Day programme held at the Police Parade Ground in Bilaspur and took the salute at the combined parade. He honoured the families of martyred soldiers and police personnel, and announced that Chhattisgarh Police Force will be awarded a medal to mark the 25th anniversary of the state’s formation.

Extending Republic Day greetings to the people of the State, Chief Minister Shri Sai said India’s Constitution is the strong foundation of the nation’s democratic faith, equality, and social justice. He said the State government is working with full commitment towards the service, development, and prosperity of Chhattisgarh Mahtari.

In his Republic Day address, Chief Minister spoke in detail about the State’s achievements, welfare schemes, progress towards eliminating Naxalism, the empowerment of farmers, workers and women, and improvements in education, healthcare, industrial development, and good governance.

Chief Minister said Republic Day is not only a day of celebration, but also a day to remember the great personalities and freedom fighters who made sacrifices for the nation. Paying tribute to the makers of the Constitution, especially Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, he said the Constitution symbolises social harmony, equal rights, and freedom of expression. He described Baba Guru Ghasidas Ji’s message of “Manakhe-Manakhe Ek Saman” (all human beings are equal) as the soul of the Constitution, and said the Indian Republic has built an open society where every citizen can contribute to nation-building.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said Chhattisgarh has recently marked the silver jubilee of its Statehood. Formed by former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the State has completed a strong development journey over the last 25 years. He said the newly constructed building of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, the “temple of the Constitution”, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The building, designed with motifs of sheaves of paddy and adorned with the folk art of Bastar and Surguja, stands as a symbol of Chhattisgarhi identity.

Chief Minister said the 150th anniversary of the national song Vande Mataram was celebrated across the State this year with devotion and respect. From Konta in Sukma district to Sitamarhi Harchauka in Manendragarh–Chirmiri–Bharatpur, people collectively sang Vande Mataram, he said, calling it a true tribute to Shri Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay.

Referring to the 150th birth anniversary of Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda and the observance of Tribal Pride Day, Chief Minister Shri Sai said the tribal community made a historic contribution to India’s freedom struggle. He said the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Tribal Freedom Fighters Digital Museum, inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, is the country’s first digital museum and introduces the present generation to the sacrifices of tribal heroes.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said Maoist violence has remained a serious challenge to democracy, but Chhattisgarh has adopted a decisive strategy under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah. He said that due to the courage of security personnel and sustained operations, Maoist violence is now in its final phase, and the target of making the State Naxal-free by March 2026 is set to be achieved. He also spoke about the rehabilitation of surrendered Naxalites and development initiatives in affected areas through measures such as Bastar Cafe and the Niyad Nella Nar Yojana.

Chief Minister said the biggest challenge after the formation of the State has been ensuring prosperity for the annadata (farmers). He said Chhattisgarh farmers are now receiving the highest price for paddy in the country. He added that paddy procurement has increased from 5 lakh metric tonnes to 149 lakh metric tonnes, and in the last two years, ₹1.5 lakh crore has been transferred to farmers’ bank accounts. He said 115 pending irrigation projects are being completed under the Atal Sichai Yojana.

Chief Minister said more than 26 lakh houses have been sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the State, and around 2,000 houses are being constructed every day, the highest in the country. He said Chhattisgarh ranks second in the country in power generation and is moving towards the first position. Work is progressing rapidly on solar energy, gas-based projects, and the zero carbon emission target, he said.

Chief Minister said that under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, over 70 lakh women are being provided monthly financial assistance of ₹1,000, and ₹14,948 crore has been distributed so far. He also spoke about the effective implementation of ESI, labour codes, and social security schemes for workers.

Chief Minister said teacher shortages have been addressed through rationalisation. Under the National Education Policy, arrangements are being made for education in local dialects, along with 9,000 smart classrooms and 22,000 computers. In the field of health education, the number of medical colleges has increased to 15 with new approvals. He said a multi super speciality hospital has been set up in Bilaspur and MBBS education in Hindi has also been started.

Chief Minister said under the new industrial policy, investment proposals worth ₹7.83 lakh crore have been received so far. Nava Raipur is being developed as an IT, AI, pharma and medical hub, adding that the future belongs to AI and Chhattisgarh will become its centre.

Chief Minister referred to the Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana, Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana, Bastar Pandum, and the development of tourism at Chitrakote Waterfall, Mainpat, Surguja and Jashpur. He stressed strengthening good governance through e-Office, the GeM portal, biometric attendance, and digital governance.

The programme featured patriotic cultural performances by schoolchildren. Attractive tableaux based on government schemes were presented by various departments, showcasing the State’s development journey.

Special Events to be organized on January 26 in Raipur under Governor’s Patronage and in Jagdalpur with Chief Minister as Chief Guest

Programmes to Be Held at Gram Panchayat, Block, District and State Levels with Widespread Public Participation

Raipur : To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the national song Vande Mataram, Chhattisgarh Government's Department of Culture is organizing a series of special programmes across the state in four phases. Under this initiative, the second phase of events will be held from January 19 to January 26, 2026.

On Republic Day, January 26, special programmes will be organized in Raipur in the presence of the Governor and in Jagdalpur with Chief Minister as the chief guest. On the same day, in all district headquarters, block headquarters, gram panchayats, and schools and colleges across the state, large-scale collective singing of Vande Mataram will be organized after the flag hoisting and the National Anthem. Ministers, Members of Parliament, MLAs, public representatives, local officials, eminent citizens and the general public will actively participate in these programmes.

During the second phase, from January 19 to 26, various educational institutions across the state will host musical performances, special assemblies, essay competitions, debates, quizzes, poster-making, rangoli, painting and exhibitions on the theme of Vande Mataram, with the participation of NCC, NSS, Scouts and Guides. The State Police Band will also present performances based on Vande Mataram and patriotic songs at public places.

With public and private participation, Vande Mataram audio-video booths will be set up across the state, where citizens can record their own rendition of Vande Mataram and upload it on the campaign’s dedicated portal. The portal will also provide the facility to sing along with a pre-recorded tune of Vande Mataram.

It is noteworthy that the first phase of the programme was successfully organized from November 7 to 14, 2025. The third phase will be conducted from August 7 to 15, 2026, in conjunction with the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, while the fourth phase will be held from November 1 to 7, 2026. In accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, these programmes will be organized at the gram panchayat, block, district and state levels with extensive public participation, with the objective of strengthening emotional connect with the national song and deepening the spirit of patriotism among citizens

Irregularities in paddy procurement will not be tolerated; strict action against guilty underway

Government committed to transparent paddy procurement system under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai

Raipur : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh government remains fully committed to ensuring transparency, accountability, and discipline in the paddy procurement system. The government’s policy is unequivocal—any irregularity, negligence, or malpractice at any level of paddy procurement and storage will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

During the Kharif Marketing Year 2024–25, a total of 12,72,389.56 quintals of paddy was stored at the Sarda–Lenzwara paddy storage centre in Bemetara district. As per the directions of the Bemetara Collector, a joint inspection team comprising officials from the Revenue Department, Food Department, MARKFED, Civil Supplies Corporation, Cooperative Department, Agricultural Produce Market Committee, and the District Central Cooperative Bank, Durg, was constituted to conduct physical verification and quality testing of the stored paddy.

The joint inspection team carried out physical verification of the Sarda–Lenzwara storage centre on December 31, 2025. During the inspection, it was found that the paddy stacks were not intact, the bags were scattered in a disorganised manner, and there was a significant discrepancy between the online stock records and the paddy physically available at the site. The inspection revealed a shortage of 4,209.19 quintals of coarse paddy and 49,430.03 quintals of Sarna paddy, amounting to a total shortage of 53,639.22 quintals was detected. A detailed inspection report has been submitted to the government for necessary action.

Based on the findings of the inspection report, the District Marketing Officer, Bemetara, has issued suspension orders of Shri Nitish Pathak, In-charge of the Sarda–Lenzwara storage centre, from all responsibilities with effect from January 14, 2026, and has initiated suspension and departmental inquiry proceedings against him.

To ensure continuity of administrative arrangements, Shri Hemant Kumar Dewangan, Area Assistant, has been appointed as In-charge of the Lenzwara (Sarda) paddy storage centre as well as the Bemetara storage centre until further orders. These orders have come into effect with immediate effect.

During the physical verification, a total of 11,648.62 quintals of paddy was found physically available at the Sarda and Lenzwara centres, out of which 3,000 quintals have already been lifted. The lifting process of the remaining available stock is being carried out continuously in accordance with prescribed norms.

The inspection also revealed that paddy was stored in plastic bags at the storage centres, which is in violation of prescribed standards. All these aspects have been included within the scope of the departmental inquiry.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the state government has conveyed a clear message: “Every grain of paddy will be procured, farmers will receive full payment on time, but those involved in any irregularities at any level will face the strictest possible action.” The government is working with utmost firmness and sensitivity to ensure a transparent, accountable, and farmer-friendly paddy procurement system.

Chief Minister attends Shiv Mahapuran Katha organised in sacred memory of Prime Minister’s mother, Smt. Heeraben Modi

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that Sanatan traditions and spiritual discourses strengthen morality, values, and social harmony in society. He was addressing the gathering at the Shri Shiv Mahapuran Katha being organised at village Khamhar in the Bargadh Khola region of Raigarh district on Friday.

The Shiv Mahapuran Katha is being organised as a tribute in the sacred memory of Smt. Heeraben Modi, the mother of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. On the occasion, the Chief Minister performed rituals and offered prayers to Lord Shiva, seeking happiness and prosperity for the people of the state. He also met internationally renowned child Kathavachak Shri Krishna Dubey Maharaj and received his blessings.

Referring to Chhattisgarh’s rich cultural and religious heritage, Shri Sai said the state is the sacred land where Lord Shri Ram spent a major part of his exile. The glory of Mata Shabari’s offering of berries continues to resonate even today. He noted with pride that during the consecration ceremony at the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya, ‘prasad’ prepared from aromatic rice grown in Chhattisgarh was offered, marking a moment of honour for the state.

The Chief Minister said that under the Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana, over 40,000 devotees have visited Ayodhya in the last two years. Under the Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana, more than 5,000 senior citizens have so far benefited through pilgrimages to 19 identified holy sites. Finance Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary also addressed the gathering.

The Shiv Mahapuran Katha is being narrated in a melodious style by internationally acclaimed child Kathavachak Shri Krishna Dubey Maharaj from Akola (Maharashtra), vividly portraying the divine life and character of Lord Shiva, Mata Parvati, and the complete Shiv Charitra.

Raipur : Chhattisgarh has achieved a historic breakthrough in its decisive campaign against Left Wing Extremism. Under the ‘Poona Margham’ initiative, 52 Maoist cadres associated with the South Sub-Zonal Bureau have renounced violence and arms, choosing instead to join the democratic system and the mainstream of development. A cumulative reward of Rs 1.41 crore had been announced on these cadres, making this surrender drive one of the largest and most significant strategic successes to date.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai described the development as a decisive victory of public faith over the ideology of violence. He said that the surrender of a total of 81 Maoists in the last 48 hours is a clear indication that Maoism is not merely weakening but is rapidly disintegrating.

The Chief Minister stated that in Bastar, not only the Maoist organisation but also its distorted ideology and entire support system have collapsed. He said that areas once gripped by fear, misinformation and coercion are now witnessing strong administrative presence, proactive security forces and effective implementation of development schemes, which has restored public confidence.

Under the ‘Rehabilitation to Revival’ campaign, the state government is providing security, dignity, livelihood opportunities and a respectable life to misguided youth who abandon violence and return to the mainstream. The large-scale surrender, he said, is a direct reflection of the trust inspired by this policy.

Chief Minister Shri Sai credited this success to the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, stating that the resolve of a Naxal-free India by March 31, 2026 is now moving rapidly towards its final goal. Raipur : The first National Rover–Ranger Jamboree, being held from January 9 to 13 at village Dudhli in Balod district, has drawn nearly 15,000 Rover–Rangers from India and abroad, Chief Minister said. Their participation, he noted, reflects a strong spirit of service, leadership and commitment to the nation.

Describing the jamboree as historic, Shri Sai said it has provided a national platform for showcasing the potential of Chhattisgarh’s youth. He pointed out that the national-level camping programmes, Rover–Ranger training sessions, cultural evenings and community service activities being organized during the jamboree are cultivating values of discipline, service and leadership, while strengthening participants’ sense of responsibility towards nation-building.

“The enthusiasm visible on the land of Balod clearly reflects the energy, dedication and resolve of India’s future generation,” Chief Minister said. He added that the State government remains fully committed to strengthening sports, skill development and leadership capacities among the youth.

Raipur : Another historic milestone has been achieved in Bastar region towards peace, trust and development. Under the “Poona Margham” – from rehabilitation to social reintegration” initiative in Dantewada district, a total of 63 Maoists—including 36 carrying cash rewards—comprising 18 women and 45 men, have renounced the path of violence and pledged to join the democratic and developmental mainstream. This is not merely an act of surrender, but a decisive transformation for the future of Bastar.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that this achievement is a direct outcome of the strong will of the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, and the clear, multi-dimensional security and development strategy of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah. He said that this development stands as proof that “not the gun, but dialogue and development are the permanent solutions.”

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that due to the Chhattisgarh government’s sensitive rehabilitation policy, precise security strategy and governance-driven administrative approach, Naxalism has now reached its final phase. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai Attends Aadi Lokotsav Festival–2025 Organised in Goa

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday attended the ‘Aadi Lokotsav’ Festival–2025 organised at model village Amon, Poinguinim in Goa. Addressing the Lokotsav on the occasion, he extended congratulations and best wishes to all participants. Goa’s Minister for Art and Culture Dr Ramesh Tawadkar was present at the programme.

Praising the organisation of the ‘Aadi Lokotsav’, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that the festival is a vibrant celebration of India’s ancient culture and a symbol of the nation’s folk-cultural consciousness.

He said that India is a country of villages and villages are its soul. The culture of villages is the culture of the nation, and it is extremely important to keep it alive through folk songs, folk dances, traditional musical instruments and age-old traditions.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the Goa government has been working for the last 25 years to keep this cultural consciousness alive, which is commendable. He expressed confidence that in the coming years, the Aadi Lokotsav will be organised on an even grander and more expansive scale.

Paying homage to Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that tribal history has been immensely glorious. Bhagwan Birsa Munda challenged the British at the young age of just 25 and created history with his indomitable courage. He said there are many great personalities from the tribal community who did not receive their due place in the country’s history. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has worked to ensure respect and recognition for tribal freedom fighters across the country.

Recalling the sacrifice of Rani Durgavati, Chief Minister Shri Sai said she was a great warrior woman of the tribal community. Prime Minister Shri Modi has given permanent recognition to her legacy by getting a grand museum constructed in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, which stands as an enduring symbol of her valour and sacrifice.

Chief Minister Shri Sai, in his address, especially recalled the contribution of tribal freedom fighters from Chhattisgarh. He said that nearly 32 per cent of Chhattisgarh’s population comprises tribal communities, and 14 tribal heroes from the state laid down their lives for the country’s freedom. He said that martyrs like Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh, Shaheed Veer Gundadhur and Shaheed Gend Singh fought against the British and sacrificed their lives for India’s independence. Martyr Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh was hanged by the British at Jai Stambh Chowk in the state capital Raipur.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that with the objective of preserving the memory of these tribal heroes and conveying their stories of sacrifice to the younger generation, the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Digital Museum has been constructed in Nava Raipur. This is the country’s first digital museum, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Chhattisgarh Foundation Day. The Chief Minister also invited everyone present at the Aadi Lokotsav to visit Chhattisgarh and see this digital museum.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that what could be a greater matter of pride for the tribal community than the fact that today, a daughter of the tribal society adorns the country’s highest constitutional office as the Hon’ble President. He said that his becoming the Chief Minister of a state like Chhattisgarh is also a reflection of Prime Minister Shri Modi’s inclusive vision.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai referred to initiatives such as the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan and the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana, stating that the Central Government is committed to the holistic development of the tribal community.

Chief Minister Shri Sai recalled the contributions of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee and said that during his tenure, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs was established for the first time in the country. Through this ministry, large-scale budgets and schemes are now being implemented for the development of over 12 crore tribal citizens. He said that he had the opportunity to work as a Cabinet Minister alongside Prime Minister Shri Modi during his first term, which he considers his privilege.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Chhattisgarh was earlier identified as a Naxal-affected state, but today that image is rapidly changing. He said that Naxalism has been effectively weakened and the state has now entered a new phase of peace, development and investment. Areas that earlier did not attract investment are now witnessing industrial growth. Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai chaired a high-level review meeting on January 6 at Mahanadi Bhawan to assess the development of Bilaspur Municipal Corporation and its surrounding areas. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on ongoing and proposed development works, expansion of basic urban amenities, and the progress of projects under implementation in Bilaspur city and its peripheral regions. The Chief Minister stated that "Nyayadhani" Bilaspur is the second-largest city of Chhattisgarh, and in view of rapid urbanisation, “balanced, inclusive and planned development” of the city is essential.

Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that Chhattisgarh is moving rapidly on the path of development, and accordingly, urban infrastructure will be strengthened systematically. He directed officials to ensure that all ongoing schemes are completed within the specified time frame with high-quality standards. Emphasising the importance of a clean and regular drinking water supply, he instructed officials to work with utmost seriousness on water-related projects. The Chief Minister also stated that Bilaspur should be given priority from the perspectives of industry and tourism when preparing development plans. He informed that over the past two years, the government has continuously approved new development works. He added that the forthcoming budget will be highly significant and will play a key role in realising the vision of “Viksit Chhattisgarh.” Shri Sai stressed that better outcomes can be achieved only through inter-departmental coordination and assured that there would be no shortfall in the development of cities as well as villages.

During the meeting, point-wise deliberations were held on roads, bridges and culverts, drinking water, drainage, pollution-free city initiatives, traffic management, education, health, sports and youth welfare, housing, e-bus services, air connectivity, transport nagar, industry and trade, tourism, and the Arpa Special Area Development Project (Arpa SADA). Consensus was reached on several key issues. It was decided to expedite the process of issuing administrative approval (AS) for the new hospital building of CIMS and to operate the Super Speciality Hospital under the PPP mode. Information was shared regarding the transfer of funds to the Defence authorities for the expansion of Bilaspur Airport, for which public representatives expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister. Instructions were also issued to expedite other airport development works and to commence night landing facilities as soon as possible.

It was agreed that the development work of Transport Nagar at Silpahari would be undertaken by CSIDC, and necessary applications for land would be submitted accordingly. A decision was taken to accelerate the land acquisition process for the Usalapur Railway Overbridge and to include the project in the upcoming budget.

Additionally, instructions were issued to prepare DPRs for the construction of flyovers worth Rs. 305 crore from Rajiv Gandhi Chowk, Nehru Chowk and Mahamaya Chowk (Y-shaped) up to the Ratanpur Road, a Rs. 115 crore flyover at Purana Bus Stand Chowk covering CMD Chowk–Imli Para Road–Tagore Chowk–Jagmal Chowk, and a Rs. 320 crore Tarbahar four-lane Railway Overbridge to connect the FCI godown and Vyapar Vihar area with the Sirgitti–Mahmand Bypass. To reduce traffic pressure in the city, a consensus was reached to submit a proposal through the Public Works Department, with the consent of NHAI, for the construction of a four-lane Bilaspur Ring Road at an estimated cost of Rs. 950 crore.

The meeting also approved Rs. 328 crore for the Paraghat Diversion Scheme at Kharang Reservoir, Rs. 252 crore for STP and drainage works of the Arpa River within the Municipal Corporation area, and Rs. 150 crore from the Disaster Management Fund to address waterlogging issues in Bilaspur city. Decisions were taken to hold discussions with Tata Memorial Hospital for establishing a cancer hospital in Bilaspur, to construct an underpass near Kanan Pendari, to develop the Koni–Birkona–Khamtarai–Bahtarai road, to prepare a DPR for a 24×7 water supply scheme, and to convene meetings of TNCPC and district officials to review previous plans and expedite development of the Arpa SADA area.

Chief Minister Shri Sai holds cordial interaction with panchayat representatives from Sukma district

Raipur : Panchayat representatives from remote gram panchayats of Sukma district, who arrived in the capital under the Hamar Chhattisgarh Jan Bhraman Yojna – a public exposure tour scheme, paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday at Mahanadi Bhawan, the state secretariat, in Raipur. The Chief Minister interacted warmly with the Panchayat representatives and enquired about their well-being.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that ensuring the all-round development of the Bastar region is the top priority of the state government. He said the government is continuously working to deliver basic facilities such as education, healthcare, roads, electricity and drinking water to every village in Bastar.

During discussions with the public representatives, he said that development works are being carried out at a rapid pace in the Bastar region as well. The Chief Minister said that security force camps are being established in remote areas, which is providing both security and momentum to development activities.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that fair price shops have now been established in most villages and the benefits of various public welfare schemes are effectively reaching common citizens. He said that in the near future, the Bastar region will be completely free from Naxalism.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously striving towards the goal of making Bastar self-reliant. With this objective, public representatives from the Bastar region are being given opportunities to visit the capital so that they can draw inspiration by observing development works here and promote comprehensive development in their respective areas.

Big Decision by the Union Government in Farmers’ Interest: Boost to Pulses and Oilseeds Production

Raipur : In a significant relief to farmers for the Kharif Marketing Season 2025–26, the Union Government has approved the implementation of the Price Support Scheme (PSS) for the procurement of pulses and oilseeds in Chhattisgarh. Union Minister for Rural Development and Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, has informed the Chief Minister, Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, through an official letter that the state government’s proposal has been accorded approval.

According to the letter issued by the Union Minister, procurement at Minimum Support Price (MSP) has been approved for a total quantity of 21,330 metric tonnes of tur (pigeon pea), 25,530 metric tonnes of urad (black gram), 240 metric tonnes of moong (green gram), 4,210 metric tonnes of soybean and 4,210 metric tonnes of groundnut in Chhattisgarh during the Kharif marketing year 2025–26.

The procurement of these crops will be undertaken under the Price Support Scheme at MSP, ensuring that farmers receive a fair price for their produce. The Union Minister expressed confidence that this decision will provide substantial relief to farmers cultivating tur, urad, moong, soybean and groundnut, and will protect them from distress sales at below-market prices.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai expressed gratitude to the Union Government. He stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, safeguarding the interests of farmers remains the state government’s “top priority”. He stated that all preparations for MSP procurement will be completed in a time-bound manner to ensure that farmers derive maximum benefit from the scheme. He further stated that the approval will provide “economic security” to farmers, encourage the production of pulses and oilseeds, and strengthen the state's rural economy.

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai chaired a high-level meeting with senior officials at Mahanadi Bhawan on January 5 to conduct a comprehensive review of various recruitment examinations being held across Chhattisgarh. The primary objective of the meeting was to ensure that all recruitment processes are conducted in a fully transparent, fair, and time-bound manner. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma was also present during the review.

The Chief Minister stated that young aspirants prepare for competitive examinations with immense hard work and dedication, and it is the government’s firm commitment that they face no injustice at any stage of the process. He directed that all recruitment examinations must be conducted with complete transparency and that the examination system should be further strengthened in line with emerging challenges. He made it clear that negligence or irregularities at any level of the recruitment process will not be tolerated, and all necessary measures will be taken to ensure absolute fairness and transparency.

Emphasising the importance of maintaining the sanctity of examinations, the Chief Minister stated that every possible step will be taken to enhance transparency, ensuring that no questions are raised about the credibility of recruitment processes. He underlined that reforming and strengthening the recruitment system remains one of the government’s top priorities, which will help make the system simpler, more just, and strictly time-bound. During the meeting, the recruitment processes underway in various departments, including the police force, were reviewed in detail, and instructions were issued to enhance the effectiveness and reliability of the selection system.

The meeting also discussed the existing practice of different departments conducting separate examinations for posts with similar eligibility criteria. In this context, the proposal to conduct joint recruitment examinations for posts with the same qualifications was discussed. Such a move is expected to save time and resources, while also ensuring the timely availability of human resources to departments.

Detailed discussions were also held on modernising the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission’s examination system to make it more contemporary, transparent, and candidate-friendly. The Chief Minister emphasised that the syllabus for competitive examinations should be made more relevant by aligning it with current requirements and contemporary issues.

Bastar Pandum 2026 to Emerge as a World-Class Cultural Festival

Raipur : To promote the rich tribal culture, art, folk traditions and heritage of the Bastar region, the grand and vibrant Bastar Pandum festival will once again be organised in 2026, following the successful organisation in the previous year.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai formally released the official logo and theme song of Bastar Pandum 2026 at Dantewada, in the sacred premises of Danteshwari Temple, seeking the blessings of Maa Danteshwari.

Extending heartfelt New Year greetings on the occasion, the Chief Minister stated that Bastar Pandum is a platform showcasing Bastar’s cultural heritage. He noted that the auspicious beginning of Bastar Pandum 2026 from the holy temple complex symbolises the deep spiritual and cultural roots of the region. The unveiling of the logo and theme song marks the formal commencement of preparations for the festival. He described Bastar Pandum as not merely a festival, but the soul of Bastar—a vibrant expression of its tribal culture, folk traditions, art and heritage.

The Chief Minister emphasised that the true identity of Chhattisgarh lies in its tribal traditions. He stated that these traditions are lived and experienced through dance, music, crafts, traditional cuisine, forest-based medicines and sacred village shrines. Recalling the inaugural edition of Bastar Pandum last year, he said the closing ceremony was graced by Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah. For Bastar Pandum 2026, invitations will also be extended to the President of India, the Union Home Minister, the Union Ministers for Culture and Tourism, and ambassadors of various countries posted in India. The unprecedented enthusiasm witnessed among the people of Bastar during the previous edition has inspired the government to make this year’s event even more magnificent, so that Bastar’s heritage gains recognition not only at the national level but also globally.

Chief Minister Shri Sai announced that the number of competitive disciplines in Bastar Pandum has been increased from seven to twelve this year. These include tribal dance, music, theatre, traditional musical instruments, costumes, ornaments, worship practices, as well as crafts, painting, traditional food and beverages, regional literature, and forest-based medicinal knowledge. The competitions will be organised in three phases to ensure broader participation and better representation of local talent.

He reaffirmed the government’s resolve to preserve Bastar’s culture and pass it on to the younger generation. Bastar, he said, will now be recognised not only as a cultural hub but also as a symbol of development driven by peace, prosperity and tourism. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the “double-engine government” is taking Bastar to new heights. This festival, he added, reflects that Bastar will now be identified not by conflict, but by creativity and celebration. He urged the people of Bastar and artists from across the region to actively participate in the competitions and contribute to enhancing Bastar’s cultural pride.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma explained that the word ‘Pandum’ signifies a festival, and in Bastar, such festivals have traditionally been celebrated to spread joy and harmony. He said it has always been customary to begin any festival with the blessings of the Mother Goddess, which is why Bastar Pandum is being launched from the Maa Danteshwari temple premises. Highlighting Bastar’s cultural richness, he said the festival integrates tribal art, crafts, dance, music and traditional cuisine. He also stated that efforts towards establishing peace in Bastar are yielding positive results, and that left-wing extremism will be entirely eliminated by March 2026.

Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap stated that Bastar’s art, culture, and traditions are a matter of pride, and the Bastar Pandum is a significant initiative to establish this cultural identity on the global stage. Referring to mythological history, he noted that Lord Shri Ram spent time in the Dandakaranya region during his exile, and the government’s efforts aim to preserve the cultural diversity of this sacred land.

Culture Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal said that the state government is organising Bastar Pandum for the second consecutive year to promote the diverse art forms of the culturally rich Bastar region. He added that competitions will be held across twelve disciplines this year.

During the programme, the Chief Minister interacted with senior traditional leaders of the division, including Manjhi, Chaliki, Gayata, priests, prominent members of the tribal community and Padma awardee artists within the temple premises. Bastar MP Shri Mahesh Kashyap and Dantewada MLA Shri Chaitram Atami also addressed the gathering. Traditional leaders and community representatives expressed their gratitude to the government for organising Bastar Pandum.

It was announced that Bastar Pandum 2026 will be held from January 10 to February 5, 2026, in three phases. Janpad-level events will take place from January 10 to 20, district-level programmes from January 24 to 29, and divisional-level events from February 2 to 6. Special discussions were also held to invite Indian ambassadors posted abroad, senior officials from Bastar, officers selected by the UPSC and CGPSC, doctors, engineers, senior public representatives, to familiarise them with Bastar’s unique cultural heritage and tribal life. Also tribal dance troupes from various states will be invited in Bastar pandum .

To ensure maximum participation, arrangements are being proposed for both online and offline registration of participants. The event will be organised in three phases across 1,885 gram panchayats, 32 janpad panchayats, eight municipalities, twelve nagar panchayats and one municipal corporation in the seven districts of Bastar division. The Department of Culture and Official Language has been designated as the nodal department for the event.
