Kunkuri Seva Sadan: A Lifeline for Patients from Remote Areas, Offering Free Accommodation and Medical Services

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai visited the Kunkuri Seva Sadan to assist patients and their families coming to the state capital Raipur from remote areas for treatment. The facility offers comfortable accommodation for patients with various illnesses and their families, along with high-quality health services and guidance. Free ambulance services are also provided for transporting patients to and from the hospital.

During his visit to Kunkuri Seva Sadan, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai interacted with patients and their families to inquire about their well-being, treatment progress, and the facilities provided at the Sadan.

Officials at the Sadan informed the Chief Minister about the progress of patients like seven-year-old Ria, who has seen improvement in her health due to physiotherapy for polio-related disabilities. Ms. Rita Kayatar, who was unable to walk after an accident and came from Kunkuri, has also shown health improvement through continuous physiotherapy at DK Hospital. Additionally, Mr. Neetish Kumar, who underwent leg amputation following a road accident in Bastar, is currently receiving treatment at DKS Hospital, including accommodation and meals at the Sadan.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized the presence of both female and male doctors and medical staff at Kunkuri Seva Sadan, providing services to all patients, including those from remote areas and diverse backgrounds. Named after his constituency, Kunkuri Sadan offers guidance and assistance to patients across the state who initially struggle to secure hospital beds. Sadan officials collaborate with hospital doctors to ensure proper treatment under government schemes. The Chief Minister reiterated his commitment to healthcare services since the beginning of his public career.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has taken significant steps to enhance healthcare in Chhattisgarh, particularly for people traveling from distant regions to Raipur for medical services available at institutions like Ambedkar Medical College, Mekahara, AIIMS, and private medical facilities. Recognizing their needs, he initiated the establishment of Kunkuri Seva Sadan, inaugurated earlier this year as a 50-bed facility. To date, over a thousand people have benefited from the Sadan. Notably, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has shown sensitivity towards medical services throughout his tenure as a Member of Parliament and Union Minister. His leadership has transformed Kunkuri Sadan into a beacon of hope for patients from Jashpur and across the state.

From the outset of his term, Chief Minister Shri Sai has prioritized improving Chhattisgarh's healthcare system. His initial directive upon taking office was to enhance ambulance services, alongside ensuring the availability of affordable generic medicines in all government hospitals. Chief Minister emphasised the complete eradication of the Naxal issue in Chhattisgarh

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai chaired the Unified Command meeting at Circuit House in Raipur on Friday. He stated that Naxal activities in Chhattisgarh are declining. He attributed this success to the effective joint operations conducted by the Central Security Forces and Chhattisgarh Police, which have benefited from improved coordination.

The state government has intensified the naxal operation in Chhattisgarh along with accelerating the development efforts under the government's new "Niyad Nellaner Yojana," which has increased public trust in the government and administration. Chief Minister Shri Sai directed officials to prioritise development projects in Naxal-affected areas, focusing on completing high-quality road construction, bridges, and other government projects within the stipulated timeframe. He also instructed officials to provide security arrangements to expedite ongoing construction work in these areas.

The meeting focused on enhancing the police intelligence network in Naxal-affected regions and conducting anti-Naxal campaigns with the support and trust of local villagers. They discussed the issues faced by security personnel in the Naxal-affected areas. Chief Minister instructed the officials to ensure the availability of essential facilities and resources at security force camps. They directed the officials to improve coordination with neighbouring states, particularly Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha. This includes joint operations in border areas, surveillance of connecting routes by security forces, and information sharing. The Chief Minister emphasised that local villagers should not face any inconvenience during anti-Naxal operations.

Raipur : In Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai's Jandarshan program, various issues and expectations of the general public were addressed. People directly interacted with the Chief Minister, sharing their problems and submitting applications.

During today's Jandarshan programme at the Chief Minister's residence office, farmer Om Prakash met the Chief Minister and reported that money had been fraudulently withdrawn from his cooperative bank account. Besides, a Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loan had been fraudulently obtained in his name. Taking prompt action on his complaint, the Chief Minister instructed the Bilaspur Collector to immediately investigate the matter rigorously. He also directed that strict action be taken against those responsible for the fraud, ensuring the return of the misappropriated amount to the farmer.

Om Prakash, a farmer from Navagarh village in the Sipat Police Station area of Bilaspur district, explained that Ramesh Sahu, a computer operator at the Seva Sahakari Samiti Sipat, had withdrawn Rs 27,000 from his cooperative bank account on three occasions by forging his signature.

Upon examining the withdrawal slips, it was discovered that Ramesh Sahu had fraudulently withdrawn the money using forged signatures. Ramesh Sahu enticed Om Prakash's minor daughter, obtained the bank passbook, and withdrew money deceitfully. Om Prakash also informed the Chief Minister that an unauthorized loan of Rs 16,000 was taken in his name in 2019.

In the same sequence, two Divyang visitors- Balram and Rohit met Chief Minister and requested for a tricycle with ice box, so that they can work as hawkers and earn their livelihood.

Balram, a 35-year-old from village Parasbod in Bemetara district, has been handicapped in his legs since the beginning, while Rohit Kumar, 34, became physically challenged after sustaining injury in an accident. Both the disabled youths want to lead a respectable life by starting their own business instead of being dependent on others.

Informs PM about Chhattisgarh Vision Document and anti-Maoist operations

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and congratulated him on his third term as Prime Minister of the country.

Raipur : During the meeting, the Chief Minister informed the Prime Minister about Amritkaal: Chhattisgarh Vision @2047 'Vision Document' and said that it is being prepared by the State NITI Aayog, which will be dedicated to the people of the state on November 1. The Chief Minister also informed the Prime Minister about the action taken in anti-Maoist operations in the last six months. He said that a joint action plan is being prepared and action is being taken to eradicate the Maoist problem.

Giving information about the Niyad Nellanar Yojana (Your Ideal Village), the Chief Minister said that under the scheme, work is being done to weaken the base of Naxalites and restore mutual trust between the government administration and the villagers. Under this scheme, currently, 23 camps have been opened, covering 90 villages and there are plans to start 29 camps in the future.

Giving information about the steps taken towards fulfilling Modi's guarantee, the CM said that in the first meeting of the Council of Ministers after the formation of the new government, it was decided to provide immediate approval for the construction of houses for 18 lakh 12 thousand 743 families in the state under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural). At present 1 lakh 6 thousand 777 houses are under construction, which have already been approved.

The Chief Minister said that under the Paddy Production Incentive Scheme, Rs 3,667 crore has been given to the farmers for the years 2014-15 and 2015-16. At the same time, under Krishak Unnati Yojana, the Chhattisgarh government has transferred Rs 13,287 crore to the bank accounts of farmers, benefitting over 24.73 lakh farmers.

The Chief Minister said that Mahtari Vandan Yojana has been started to promote economic self-reliance and empowerment of women in the state. Under this scheme, till now 70 lakh women have been given four months' financial assistance amounting to Rs 2618 crore.

Informing the Prime Minister about the Shri Ram Lala Darshan Scheme, Sai said that an MOU has been signed with IRCTC for the scheme under which over 20 thousand beneficiaries from the state will be taken on a pilgrimage to Ayodhya every year.

The state government is making efforts to extend basic amenities such as education, healthcare, employment, roads, electricity, and water to remote areas. Initiatives like ‘Niyad Nellanar’ are driving significant positive changes.

The state government is making efforts to swiftly implement the administrative reforms under CM Shri Sai's leadership to enhance citizens' convenience. Chhattisgarh has a significant population of farmers for which the state government is focused on fostering a supportive environment and ensuring financial stability for farmers. Under the Krishak Unnati Yojana, the Shri Sai government is purchasing paddy at Rs. 3,100 per quintal to ensure farmers' prosperity. Additionally, the state government has disbursed a two-year pending paddy bonus of Rs. 3,716 crore to farmers.

The state government has prioritised its efforts to provide houses to eligible beneficiaries. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the government has decided to provide houses to over 18 lakh families. For this purpose, the state government has allocated Rs. 3,799 crore in the supplementary budget for 2023–24 and Rs. 8,369 crore in the budget for 2024–25. Beneficiaries are being provided free sand for the construction of their houses. Additionally, over one crore families will receive free rations for five years.

The state government has decided to support homemakers who frequently set aside their aspirations due to family obligations. The Mahtari Vandan Yojana has become a model scheme across the country, offering Rs. 12,000 annually (Rs. 1,000 per month) to more than 70 lakh women beneficiaries. Shri Sai government has taken significant measures to ensure justice for youth and transparency in government recruitment processes. The government has decided to raise the age limit for government jobs by five years.

In Naxal-affected areas, the Chhattisgarh Government's swift and stringent actions have yielded significant results over the past six months. The state government has made significant efforts in which around 136 Naxals have been killed, 526 arrested, and 442 have surrendered, which marks substantial progress towards resolving the naxalism issue in the state.

Raipur : The Chhattisgarh Government, led by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, is dedicated to fulfilling the promises made during the state assembly elections. Under the Chief Minister's guidance, ministers have begun assessing the progress of welfare schemes and departmental operations. In line with Chief Minister Shri Sai’s directives, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma reviewed the status of welfare schemes and the performance of the Panchayat and Rural Development Department.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma directed the officials to expedite the construction of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He instructed officials to formulate and execute an action plan within the specified timeframe. He also instructed officials to prepare an action plan for the systematic development of villages, large in population. He instructed the officials to organise a 'Gramin Sachivalaya' once a week to address villagers' issues. Furthermore, he highlighted the need to ensure that the benefits of major schemes should reach tribal families under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Yojana. He assured that there would be no shortage of funds for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and emphasised the approval and swift completion of houses in all gram panchayats.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma emphasised that eligible beneficiaries unable to build houses will receive support from volunteers. Officials must also ensure sufficient availability of masons (Rajmistri). In cases where masons are unavailable, arrangements should be made to train residents as masons. Additionally, if necessary, officials should provide beneficiaries with a list of vendors supplying construction materials.

He stated that work on all approved houses of one batch should begin simultaneously, and house-warming ceremonies (Graha Pravesh) should also be held together. To provide banking facilities to beneficiaries for construction, he emphasised that in villages far from banking services, beneficiaries should be assisted in withdrawing money through bank sakhis, CSCs, and mobile banking vans.

Officials informed that since December 1, 2023, the construction of 139,000 houses has been completed, with work on an additional 62,577 houses is underway. They informed the Minister that more than 23,000 houses are being built every month. Under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana (Rural), the state government has set a target to construct 47,090 houses, with construction already started on 33,115 houses. Similarly, under the Niyad Nellanar Yojana, the construction of 689 houses has been approved, and 384 houses have been completed. Under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Yojana, the construction of 20,279 houses has been approved, with 145 houses completed.

In preparation for the onset of the monsoon, Shri Vishnu Deo Sai commenced the farming season by sowing seeds in his farms in village Bagiya today. Shri Sai took upon the role of a farmer and sowed paddy seeds with his own hands, thereby upholding tradition.

In Jashpur and Surguja regions, there exists a tradition among farmers where family members join the head of the family in the ritual of sowing paddy seeds.Upholding this tradition, Chief Minister scattered seeds with his hands into the fields, followed by other family members doing the same.

Chief Minister was seen in traditional farming attire. He wore a turban, carried a basket of paddy seeds, and performed rituals. It is notable that in Jashpur-Surguja region, this ritual is performed before sowing seeds as a prayer for a prosperous crop. Every farmer in the agrarian state of Chhattisgarh has started the preparations for the farming season.

It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Shri Sai recently held a review meeting with the officials of the Agriculture Department to ensure a better Kharif crop in the state. Chief Minister, who has always been connected to farming, emphasized the need for timely and adequate arrangements of fertilizers and seeds. He instructed the officials to arrange agricultural inputs according to the farmers' needs and to increase productivity through the greater use of technology.

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has instructed officials to make cash payments to tendupatta collectors in the Sukma, Bijapur, and Narayanpur districts. He directed the officials to provide convenience to tendupatta collectors, given the significant distances between bank branches in these areas. Therefore, remuneration for 2024 will be disbursed through cash payments at camps set up in the haat bazaars of these districts.

In consonance with Chief Minister Shri Sai’s directives and under the guidance of Forest and Climate Change Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, the department has issued detailed guidelines for this process. While Sukma, Bijapur, and Narayanpur districts will follow this cash payment approach, in other districts, the remuneration will be directly deposited into the tendupatta collectors' bank accounts.

Shri V. Srinivas Rao, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, shared that according to the Forest and Climate Change Department’s guidelines, the entire cash payment process will be overseen by the District Collector. The District Collector will determine the eligibility of tendupatta collectors for cash payments, and each payment will require the Collector’s approval. In each district, the District Collector, Divisional Forest Officer, and Managing Director of the District Minor Forest Produce Cooperative Union will coordinate to organise a camp at a haat bazar or another suitable location in the designated area. At these camps, officials will make appropriate entries in the tendupatta collection cards, disburse cash payments, and provide receipts.

The district administration will be responsible for publicising the cash payment process in advance, conducting complete videography of all related activities, and submitting a report. During these camps, officials will also issue Aadhaar cards and assist tendupatta collectors in opening bank accounts as needed, under the guidance of the District Collector. Cooperation will be sought from CSCs, local banks, and other entities for this purpose. Officials should ensure that the bank account details received from the tendupatta collectors are registered in the Sangrahak Payment Software through the District Minor Forest Produce Cooperative Union and CSCs. The entire payment process to the tendupatta collectors is to be completed within 15 days.

The late Shri Naresh Chandra Sai served as the chairman of the Jashpur Municipality and was a popular leader dedicated to the region's development. Shri Naresh Chandra Sai passed away on June 6.

During the operation on June 15, Naxalites started indiscriminate firing on the security forces and in retaliatory action, 08 Maoists were killed. Meanwhile, two security personnel were injured and one soldier was martyred.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma visited Ramakrishna Care Hospital in the capital city of Raipur to meet the soldiers injured in the Naxal encounter in Narayanpur district.

During the visit, Chief Minister inquired about the condition of the injured soldiers and gave necessary instructions. When the Chief Minister asked about the incident, injured STF soldier Mr. Kailash Netam confidently stated that he would fight again once he recovers. The Chief Minister, filled with pride, remarked that the bravery of these Jawans is a testament to the tradition of India's valiant warriors, who have never allowed the nation to bow down.

The Chief Minister could not meet another injured STF Jawan, Mr. Lekhram Netam, who was in the operation theater, but he did receive updates on his health from the doctors. Additionally, the Chief Minister also met with Mr. Lachhu Kadti, a DRG soldier injured in a recent Naxal attack in Bijapur, inquired about his condition.

Chief Minister encouraged the soldiers and wished them a speedy recovery. He also directed the doctors to ensure the best possible treatment for them.

Chief Minister was accompanied by MLA Mr. Motilal Sahu and Director General of Police Mr. Ashok Juneja during the visit to the hospital.

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the consecration ceremony of the Bhakt Mata Karma Temple in Farhada village, Mungeli district, on Friday. In his address, he announced that rail connectivity for Mungeli district would be established soon. He shared that the state government has already approved Rs 300 crore for the Katghora-Dongargarh Special Rail Project, with the land acquisition process set to begin shortly. This project will include a 38.02-kilometre rail line passing through the Mungeli district, providing future rail services to the region's residents.

Chief Minister Shri Sai announced the construction of a community hall worth Rs 25 lakh for the Sahu community in Farhada village. Additionally, he announced the construction of community halls worth Rs 6 lakh each for the tribal and Satnami communities. He inaugurated and laid the foundation for 19 development works worth over Rs 25 crore. He announced plans to upgrade Farhada's government high school to a higher secondary school. He also announced the renovation of roads from Farhada to Achanakpur and Harirarpur to Tedhadhora.

Chief Minister Shri Sai congratulated the Sahu community on the consecration of Bhakt Mata Karma temple. He highlighted that the construction of this temple in Farhada village is a collective effort by all the villagers, achieved without government assistance, showcasing their unity. He expressed gratitude to the resident for electing Shri Tokhan Sahu as MP from the Bilaspur Lok Sabha constituency. Shri Tokhan Sahu has been appointed as Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs in Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's cabinet, a proud moment for the entire state and region.

Chief Minister Shri Sai announced that the state government is committed to the state’s overall development. The state government is paying Rs. 3100 per quintal for paddy to the farmers and providing benefits of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana to 70 lakh women in the state. He shared that the state government has approved the construction of a 5.5-kilometre road from Bilaspur-Mungeli to Farhada village, which will commence soon. Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai chaired a review meeting of the Health Department on Friday, accompanied by Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal. He discussed various issues concerning the department and instructed officials to take necessary actions. He highlighted a concerning number of kidney patients from the Supebeda region and stated that while a dialysis unit has been established in Gariaband for treatment, a permanent solution is imperative. He directed officials to conduct research to identify the causes of these diseases and ensure adequate treatment arrangements.

The goal is to eradicate kidney-related issues in Supebeda through comprehensive healthcare initiatives. Chief Minister Sai also called for the establishment of dialysis centres in areas like Pakhanjur, which are seeing a higher influx of patients. He reviewed the status of ongoing health schemes in the state and directed the officials to enhance monitoring for improved scheme implementation.

Chief Minister Shri Sai reviewed the status of health infrastructure and facilities in the state and stated that the health department has made significant progress over the last six months. He instructed officials to complete the pending projects from the previous government soon. With the upcoming monsoon season in mind, he directed the officials to take necessary measures to manage seasonal diseases and ensure the availability of anti-venom antidotes in hospitals. He directed the officials to fill vacant specialist doctor positions as soon as possible and ensure that anesthesiologists are posted alongside gynaecologists to facilitate Caesarean deliveries when necessary.

Chief Minister Shri Sai instructed officials to ensure that 108, 102, and hearse vehicles are in good condition. He mandated that 108 ambulances be equipped with screens to display the nearest hospital for the patient. He also instructed the officials to adopt a system to alert the nearest government hospital doctor via message to prepare for the emergency response.

Chief Minister emphasised that district headquarters should have at least two ambulances equipped with Advanced Life Support systems. He stated that achieving 100% institutional deliveries is a top priority and regular ANC checkups must be ensured. To reduce infant mortality, he directed the officials to increase the number of neonatal care units in the hospitals. He also instructed officials to maximise coverage under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and address any shortcomings in its implementation. Furthermore, he directed that all beneficiaries of the Niyad Nellanar Yojana should have Ayushman cards and that regular Aadhaar camps should be conducted in these areas.

Health Department officials informed that beneficiaries are being provided Ayushman cards under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana. In the past six months, 1373 beneficiaries have received treatment worth Rs 1.38 crore. Chief Minister Shri Sai emphasised the importance of focusing on Jan Aushadhi Kendras and suggested strategically locating them to maximise public access to medicines. He reviewed the schemes for TB, leprosy, and malaria prevention, He stated that the malaria-free campaign has shown positive results but there is a need for intensified efforts to make Bastar malaria-free.

Regarding sickle cell disease, the Chief Minister directed officials to propose the establishment of a national-level research centre to the Central Government. He emphasised the importance of regular counselling and improved treatment for sickle cell patients. He instructed officials to provide operators where equipment is available but not in use. Additionally, he directed the officials to expand the chemotherapy facilities and provide dialysis facilities at block headquarters. He also called for the establishment of new hospitals for mental health patients.

Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal directed officials to ensure continuous monitoring of Chhattisgarh's sex ratio, which is already in a better condition but needs further improvement. He praised the Chirayu scheme as an excellent initiative and emphasised the need for extensive promotion to reach more beneficiaries. Additionally, he urged the Chief Minister to integrate the urban mobile medical units and Dhanwantari Yojana into the Health Department to enhance coordination and implementation.

Raipur : After the end of the model code of conduct, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai initiated a series of department-wise review meetings to expedite development across the state, starting on Thursday. These meetings were held at the Chief Minister’s residence office. He began by reviewing the activities of the Agriculture Department and its allied sectors, sharing valuable insights from his extensive farming experience. The Chief Minister engaged with senior officials from various departments to assess the current status of ongoing projects and welfare schemes. He emphasised the necessity of working with full transparency and promptness to achieve good results.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai directed officials to take steps to motivate farmers to enhance their productivity. He emphasised the importance of providing timely assistance for traditional farming. He also instructed the officials to educate farmers about modern farming techniques and innovations. He highlighted the necessity of increasing the income of farmers, livestock farmers, and milk producers. Drawing from his own experiences, Shri Sai instructed the officials to take measures to prevent animal diseases during the rainy season.

He reviewed the activities of the Animal Husbandry Department, the Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Dairy Federation, and the Fisheries Department. He stated that businesses such as animal husbandry, fisheries, and milk production are significant sources of income for farmers and livestock farmers. Effective implementation of related schemes would boost farmers' incomes. During the review of the Animal Husbandry Department, Chief Minister Shri Sai announced the establishment of a cow sanctuary in one district of each division in the state to protect and conserve the cow population.

Officials of the Animal Husbandry Department provided information on total livestock numbers and the annual production and availability of milk, eggs, and meat to Chief Minister Shri Sai. He emphasised the need for widespread vaccination to protect animals from infectious diseases during the rainy season. He also stressed the importance of effectively implementing schemes aimed at improving animal breeds. Additionally, he directed the officials to take measures to maximise the benefits of state and centrally-sponsored schemes for livestock farmers. The Animal Husbandry Department officials provided detailed information about their upcoming action plans and targets to the Chief Minister.

While reviewing the work of the Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Dairy Federation, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai emphasised the need for measures to boost the sales of milk and milk products and to increase the income of milk-producing farmers. He directed officials to expand the number of outlets and to commission a detailed study by the Indian Institute of Management to explore additional options for enhancing the sales and income of the Devbhog brand. He also stressed the importance of adopting effective marketing and branding strategies. During the meeting, officials provided a detailed process flow chart outlining the entire journey of milk, from collection to consumer delivery.

Subsequently, the Chief Minister reviewed departmental work and schemes with officials from the Fisheries Department. He emphasised the need to widely publicise schemes for promoting fisheries and to provide information and training to rural farmers. Sharing his observations, Shri Sai stated that many government-constructed ponds become unusable as they dry up in summer. He suggested identifying such farmers and arranging for solar pumps to ensure water supply, enabling year-round fish farming. Additionally, he instructed officials to promote innovative fish production methods like cage culture and bio-floc technology and to provide training for farmers in these techniques.
