Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai welcomed numerous women and girls to his residence to celebrate Raksha Bandhan on August 19. They tied Rakhi to the Chief Minister Shri Sai. In a historic and heartwarming moment, members of the transgender community were also present in the celebration, tying Rakhi to the Chief Minister and wishing him a happy and prosperous life. This event marked the first time in India that transgenders have visited a Chief Minister's residence to celebrate Raksha Bandhan in such a meaningful way.

Swachhata Didi, Divyang children, and beneficiaries of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana participated and tied Rakhi to Chief Minister Shri Sai, wishing him a joyful and fulfilling life. In return, the Chief Minister presented gifts to all the sisters and girls, reaffirming his commitment to their safety, respect, and prosperity.

Extending his Raksha Bandhan greetings, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai stated, "Today, I felt surrounded by love, as if I had many sisters. The affection and blessings from sisters and children across the state have truly touched my heart." He reiterated the Chhattisgarh Government's dedication to their well-being, highlighting the numerous welfare schemes aimed at supporting them. He stated, "Through the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, we have fulfilled our duty to women of the state.

I am pleased that 70 lakh women in the state are receiving Rs. 1000 each month through this initiative." The Chief Minister emphasised that the Mahtari Vandan Yojana has empowered women economically, enhancing their social standing and helping them meet household needs. "Your affection and blessings are my source of strength and inspiration," he added. The Chief Minister's residence was filled with joy as sisters gathered in large numbers, enthusiastically tying Rakhi and exchanging festive greetings and well wishes.

Kumari Chanchal Soni, who successfully climbed to Mt.Everest Base Camp, shared her delightful experience today at the Chief Minister's residence. She was deeply moved by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai's affection and warmth towards the sisters, remarking that he has shown them even more respect than a biological brother would. Students from Government Abhyas Primary School in Mahasamund—Purvi Dewar, Bhumi Dewar, Neha Dewar, Pihu Bundela, and Sarika Dhimar—were visibly overjoyed as they tied Rakhis to the Chief Minister, who reciprocated their gestures with affection and gifts.

Smt. Jaibun Nisha, a beneficiary of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana from Telibandha, praised Shri Vishnu Deo Sai's government for its commendable work for women. She mentioned that as she grows older and frequently encounters health issues, the Rs. 1000 financial assistance from the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, along with the Ayushman card, has been a significant help.

Smt. Lakshmi Sahu, a resident of Gudhiyari and a 12th-grade graduate, shared that she had purchased a sewing machine from the financial assistance received under the Mahtari vandan Yojana and expanded her tailoring business. She added that it also helps cover her children's school fees. Smt. Sahu shared that Chief Minister Shri Sai is fulfilling his promise as a brother by providing Rs. 1000 every month to all eligible women of the state.

Transgender police personnel, including Tanushri Sahu, Shankar Yadav, and Yogesh Janghel, along with other constables from the transgender community, tied Rakhis to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, extending their wishes for his happiness and well-being. Vidya Rajput, along with other members of the transgender community such as Avni Khorpade, Shivangi, Sakshi, Deshavi Mandal, Zoya, and Poppy Debnath, also tied Rakhis to the Chief Minister, offering their blessings on this special occasion.

In addition, Swachhata Didis, beneficiaries of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, divyangjan students from Mahasamund, children from the Government Abhyas Primary School, members of the Exact Foundation, girls from Prayas Residential School Gudhiyari, and representatives from the Udaan Nai Disha organisation also gathered at the Chief Minister's residence to celebrate Raksha Bandhan by tying Rakhis to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai.

'Swadeshi Mela' to be held across various districts of the state from October 17, 2023 to March 9, 2025

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today unveiled the brochure for 'Swadeshi Mela' at his residence office today. Indian Marketing Development Center will be organizing 'Swadeshi Mela' across various districts of Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Shri Sai extended best wishes to the delegation for the successful execution of the event.

It is noteworthy that the fair will be organized by the Indian Marketing Development Center (a unit of the Swadeshi Jagran Foundation). Mr. Subrat Chaki, Manager of Swadeshi Mela, informed that for the past two decades, this event is being held annually in different districts of the state. He highlighted that 'Swadeshi Mela' provides new business opportunities for Indian entrepreneurs. The fair has emerged as a beneficial commercial venture for Indian producers, rural enterprises, cottage industries, private, cooperative, and public sector enterprises, thereby increasing its popularity among the general public. This year, 'Swadeshi Mela' will be held in Kabirdham from October 17 to October 23, Bilaspur from November 15 to November 21, Raipur from December 27, 2024, to January 3, 2025, Rajnandgaon from February 7 to February 13, 2025, and Jagdalpur from March 2 to March 9, 2025.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated a seven-day photo exhibition organized by the Public Relations Department at the Town Hall in Kachahri Chowk, Raipur, to commemorate the 78th Independence Day. This exhibition attractively displays the achievements of the state government and the memories of the great revolutionaries of Chhattisgarh who played a significant role in the Indian Independence Movement.

Chief Minister Shri Sai stressed the importance of educating future generations about the valuable contributions of Chhattisgarh's revolutionaries to India's struggle for independence. He commended the efforts of the Public Relations Department, noting that this photo exhibition will inspire the youth and encourage them to work positively for the country and society.

The exhibition showcases the contributions of Chhattisgarh's revolutionaries in the freedom struggle, featuring important documents, their life journeys during the freedom movement, jungle satyagraha, the Quit India movement, and their roles in various freedom struggle related activities. Besides, the exhibition highlights welfare schemes run by the state government, including Mahtari Vandan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana, Krishak Unnati Yojana, PM JANMAN Yojana, and Jandarshan. It also features a replica of the Shri Ramlala idol in Ayodhya. A documentary film showcasing the state government's achievements is being screened as well.

The photo exhibition is open to the public at the Town Hall in Kachahri Chowk from August 15 to August 21, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Chief Minister's Secretary Shri P. Raipur : Chhattisgarh Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal attended the 6th Governing Body meeting of the National Mineral Exploration Trust (NMET) at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi, as a representative of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. The meeting, chaired by Union Coal and Mines Minister Shri G. Kishan Reddy, focused on the exploitation of minerals, their use, and the conservation of nature and the environment. The discussion also included the Katghora area in Korba district, where the Geological Survey of India has confirmed large reserves of lithium across approximately 250 hectares.

Shri Jaiswal stated “The lithium mine set to begin soon in Katghora will be the country’s first lithium mine. Lithium is a crucial metal that will steer both the state and the nation towards a new direction of development. With the commencement of this lithium mine, Chhattisgarh will emerge as one of the leading states in the country, and our lithium reserves will play a significant role in achieving 'Viksit Bharat@2047'.”

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, has issued a NIT on the MSTC portal for the allocation of 20 critical and strategic mineral blocks located in Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir through e-auction.

Among these 20 blocks, the Lithium and REE block in the Katghora area of Korba district is included. Preliminary surveys by the Geological Survey of India indicate lithium content ranging from 10 ppm to 2,000 ppm in about 250 hectares, with the presence of rare earth elements also detected. Critical and strategic minerals are essential for renewable energy, defense, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, high-tech electronics, telecommunications, and transportation. Currently, the country relies on imports for these minerals.

During the campaign launch held at Chief Minister's residence, Shri Sai congratulated 94.3 My FM and emphasized the importance of reaching as many people as possible with this innovative initiative. "The campaign is being started to ensure that this initiative reaches the maximum number of people. Everyone should participate in this campaign and plant a tree. Raipur : After taking charge of the Bijapur, Collector Shri Anurag Pandey implemented several key initiatives to enhance the education sector. He issued directives to officials for effective execution, leading to noticeable improvements in education. As part of this effort, Shri Pandey proposed offering an air travel experience to the top 100 students who excelled in their 9th and 11th-grade exams as a form of encouragement. This initiative has now been realised. On August 12th, at 7:30 AM, a bus carrying 50 students was flagged off. These students have now flown from Maa Danteshwari Airport in Jagdalpur to Raipur, and tomorrow, 50 female students will also depart for Raipur. Altogether, 100 students from the district will represent Bijapur at the state-level Independence Day program.

The students were filled with enthusiasm and excitement about their first-ever aeroplane trip. Collector Shri Anurag Pandey's promise was fulfilled, and the students expressed their gratitude, pledging to work hard with sincerity to make the Collector's initiative successful. During this time, Shri Pandey encouraged the students to study diligently and reminded them of the importance of representing Bijapur with pride.

He mentioned that while 100 students are participating today, the plan is to extend such opportunities to over a thousand students in the future. He also stressed the importance of maintaining discipline, as they will be seen as ambassadors of the Bijapur district. He emphasised that these new crop varieties will significantly boost agricultural productivity in Chhattisgarh, particularly in rice production, and will empower the state's farmers to achieve greater prosperity through advanced farming techniques.

Shri Sai expressed his deep gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Union Minister of Agriculture Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and the agricultural scientists involved in this groundbreaking agricultural advancement. He shared his appreciation on the Twitter platform X, congratulating all farmers on this significant development.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi unveiled 109 varieties of high-yield, climate-resilient, and biofortified crops at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR) in New Delhi on August 11. This includes 34 field crops and 27 horticultural crops. Scientists have developed rice varieties that require 20 percent less water, including nine improved rice varieties and two wheat varieties. Additionally, farmers will now have access to improved varieties of pulses, including two each of pigeon peas and chickpeas, and three varieties of lentils.

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the ‘'Mamtamayee' Minimata Nirvan Diwas’ and the district-level oath-taking ceremony at the Padma Shri Govindram Nirmalkar Auditorium in Rajnandgaon on August 11. At the event, Chief Minister Shri Sai announced that the Government New College in Thelkadih would be renamed after Sant Guru Ghasidas Baba. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai paid tribute to ‘Mamtamayee’ Minimata, acknowledging her legacy as the first female MP after India’s independence. He congratulated the newly elected officials of the Rajnandgaon Satnami Seva Samiti and urged them to focus on uplifting the Satnami community through education and development, following the path laid out by Sant Guru Ghasidas Baba. The Chief Minister highlighted Minimata's tireless efforts in undivided Madhya Pradesh to empower women and eradicate untouchability.

Shri Sai emphasised the enduring relevance of Sant Guru Ghasidas Baba’s 18th-century message, ‘Mankhe Mankhe Ek Saman’ (Everyone is equal), and his fight against untouchability and discrimination. He affirmed that the Chhattisgarh Government is committed to realising Prime Minister Shri Modi's vision by adhering to Baba Ji's teachings. The government is implementing various schemes benefiting farmers, women, youth, and other segments of society, including the Shri Ram Lala darshan initiative and a Rs. 5,500 standard bag remuneration for tendupatta collection.

Chief Minister Shri Sai praised Assembly Speaker and former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh for his role in constructing the Jaitkham in Giraudpuri, building community centres for the Satnami community, and promoting the cultural Panthi dance. Shri Sai expressed hope that the government would continue to receive blessings from Sant Guru Ghasidas Baba, enabling them to work for the welfare of the state's people.

Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh emphasised the significant contributions of ‘Mamtamayee’ Minimata in increasing women's participation in society, pioneering their development, and boosting their confidence. As the first female MP in 1952, she advocated for laws against untouchability and actively opposed social injustice. She played a leading role in both Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Dr. Singh expressed pride in facilitating the construction of the Jaitkham in Giraudpuri and praised Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's various initiatives for the nation's overall development. He also commended Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai's efforts towards the development of villages, the poor, and farmers. Under Shri Sai's leadership, the state government has provided Rs. 3,100 per quintal for paddy, disbursed Rs. 3,716 crore as a two-year pending paddy bonus, and provided financial aid of Rs. 1,000 monthly to 70 lakh eligible beneficiaries under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. Dr. Singh expressed confidence in continued progress under the Chief Minister's leadership.

Chief Minister Shri Sai extended his condolences to the grieving family

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the memorial service for Shri Tushar Sahu in Nayapara, Bemetara, on August 9. He paid floral tributes to the departed soul and extended his condolences to the grieving family. He remarked that Shri Tushar Sahu was a promising young man who was deeply committed to social service, always approaching his work with dedication and a spirit of service. Agriculture Minister Shri Ram Vichar Netam also paid tribute and offered condolences to the family.

Local leaders, dignitaries, and close associates of Shri Tushar Sahu gathered to pay tribute and pray for his peace. Shri Tushar Sahu, who was the nephew of Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao, tragically lost his life on August 4 while bathing at the Ranidahara waterfall in Bodla, Kawardha district.

Raipur : During the Jandarshan programme held today at the Chief Minister's residence, Shri Nandkishore, a resident of Dongargaon in Rajnandgaon district, shared his distress with Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. He stated that his wife has been missing for the past six months, and despite filing a complaint at the police station, there has been no progress in locating her.

After hearing his plea, Chief Minister Shri Sai immediately contacted the Rajnandgaon SP and directed him to intensify the search for Shri Nandkishore's wife.

Raipur : The Chhattisgarh Government, led by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, has successfully implemented a range of welfare schemes benefiting labourer families across the state. Till August 8, over 1.3 lakh labourer families have been provided the benefits of these initiatives, with the Labour Department disbursing more than Rs 135.96 crore in financial assistance. Notably, during the weekly ‘Jandarshan’ program at the Chief Minister's residence, Shri Vishnu Deo Sai distributed cheques totalling Rs 11.41 crore to 6,205 beneficiaries under various Labour Department schemes.

According to Labour Department officials, the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Worker Board has provided Rs 46.61 crore financial aid to 23,308 beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Noni Shashaktikaran Sahayata Yojana during Jandarshan programs held at the Chief Minister's residence and across various districts from December 13, 2023, to August 8, 2024. Similarly, Rs 58.31 crore has been disbursed to 29,161 beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Minimata Mahtari Jatan Yojana, and Rs 2.39 crore to 1,396 beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Noni Babu Medhavi Shiksha Sahayata Yojana.

Additionally, the Mukhyamantri Nirman Shramik Mrityu Evam Divyang Sahayata Yojana has provided Rs 8.4 crore to 828 beneficiaries, while Rs 1.99 crore has been provided to 997 beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Shramik Siyan Sahayata Yojana. Under the Mukhyamantri Nirman Shramik Awas Sahayata Yojana, Rs 2.87 crore has been granted to 287 beneficiaries, and Rs 15.37 crore has been distributed to 74,322 students under the Mukhyamantri Naunihal Chhatravriti Yojana. All these funds have been directly transferred to the beneficiaries' bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

Raipur : Amidst the disappointing news about disqualification of Indian Wrestler Vinesh Phogat from Paris Olympics, a pleasant picture has emerged from Chhattisgarh boosting the morale of talented players.

Fencing player Reeba Benni has made the state proud by winning a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games held in New Zealand. The achievement comes after a generous intervention by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, who ensured Reeba’s participation despite initial financial setback.

During a “Jandarshan” program at the Chief Minister's residence, it was brought to light that Reeba was selected to compete in New Zealand but lacked the funds necessary for her trip. Upon knowing this, the Chief Minister took swift action, approving an amount of four lakh rupees to cover her expenses.

Thanks to this timely support, Reeba was able to participate in the competition and secure a silver medal. As a gesture of gratitude, Reeba’s parents today visited the Chief Minister’s residence during the weekly “Jandarshan” and presented him with a coconut as a token of their appreciation and respect.

The story of this tribal girl highlights the crucial role of leadership and timely support in enabling athletes to reach their full potential and represent their country on the global stage.

Raipur : Governor Shri Ramen Deka and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the second convocation ceremony of Hemchand Yadav University, held at the BIT Durg auditorium on August 7. A total of 68 students received the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, and 48 students were awarded gold medals for securing top ranks in their respective classes.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Shri Deka expressed his joy at being part of the university's second convocation. He congratulated the Doctor of Philosophy recipients and gold medalists for their outstanding academic performances and extended his congratulations to the teachers, parents, and guardians who supported the students throughout their academic journey. He highlighted that the Chhattisgarh Government is implementing the National Education Policy 2020 from the current academic year 2024-25, emphasizing that NEP 2020 focuses on both education and skill development. This policy aims to prepare students for entrepreneurship and to become 'job creators' rather than 'job seekers.'

Governor Shri Deka stressed the importance of continuous learning, developing soft skills, and staying updated with the latest knowledge in their chosen fields. He encouraged the graduates to strive for excellence in their professions while also focusing on becoming good human beings.

Governor Shri Ramen Deka quoted Nelson Mandela, saying, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world". He advised them to work for the betterment of society and contribute to innovation, entrepreneurship, and startups, which are crucial in today's world. He encouraged the students to view this moment as a transition from a protected environment to one where continuous learning from the world is essential.

He emphasised that while the world may change drastically, fundamental values like honesty, truth, respect for self and others, hard work, and personal integrity remain constant. The Governor stressed that the graduates must uphold these core values and that development cannot be sustained without social equity. He praised the university for its exemplary commitment since its establishment in 2015. He highlighted the expectation from young students in an era where innovation drives social change, urging them to always strive to give back more to society than they have received. The Governor commended the university's progress in various fields, including research, NSS, NCC, Youth Red Cross, sports, cultural, and extracurricular activities. He noted the recent achievements of the university's students in NSS programs, youth festivals, and sports in 2023-24. The Governor also lauded the university's five MOUs with national-level institutions as noteworthy accomplishments.

Governor Shri Deka expressed his delight at the excellent performance of colleges affiliated with the university during the NAAC accreditation process. He urged the graduates to use their education to give voice to the voiceless in society and work towards uplifting the oppressed. The Governor extended his best wishes to all the students being honoured for their future endeavours.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, addressing the ceremony, announced the construction of a University Teaching Department (UTD) and an auditorium in the university's under-construction building, responding to the Vice Chancellor's request. He highlighted that the Chhattisgarh Government has implemented the National Education Policy 2020 across the state from the academic session 2024-25. He stated that NEP-2020 will allow students to choose subjects according to their interests and enable them to secure good jobs or establish their businesses based on their skills. He mentioned Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's goal of a developed India by 2047, stating that Chhattisgarh is actively working towards contributing to this objective. He emphasised that everyone needs to contribute according to their capabilities for a developed India. Shri Sai noted that the Chhattisgarh Government is striving to make significant progress in the fields of education, health, and environment, citing the establishment of PM SHRI schools as a prime example of these efforts.

Chief Minister Shri Sai expressed satisfaction with the progress of the PM SHRI Yojana in Chhattisgarh, noting that 193 primary and 18 higher secondary schools are being developed in the first phase, with an additional 52 schools approved in the third phase. He assured that the State Government, in coordination with the Central Government, would elevate Chhattisgarh to the ranks of developed states. The Chief Minister highlighted the achievements of Hemchand Yadav University in its nine years since its establishment. He mentioned the near-completion of the university's new building in Potiakala, Durg, funded under the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA) Yojana with Rs. 15 crore as grant. Shri Sai outlined various initiatives taken by the state government for students' welfare, including the successful conduct of the Chhattisgarh State Eligibility Test 2024 after a five-year gap, plans to fill vacant assistant professor positions in government colleges, and regular competitive exams being held by VYAPAM.

Shri Sai further stated that the construction of an auditorium at Durg's Science College campus will be completed soon. He praised the university's affiliated colleges for their NAAC accreditations. The Chief Minister also commended the university for having over a thousand registered Doctor of Philosophy scholars, considering it a record. He congratulated the university community for their students' national-level successes in research and academic activities.

Chief Minister Shri Sai announced that the Chhattisgarh Government has extended the maximum age limit relaxation for government service by five years until 2028, benefiting educated youth in the state. He praised Hemchand Yadav University for its leading role in higher education and emphasised that the true significance of convocation ceremonies lies in graduates contributing to nation-building as responsible citizens. The Chief Minister congratulated all graduates, postgraduates, Doctor of Philosophy degree holders, and gold medalists, along with their parents and teachers.

Dr. Atul Kothari, Secretary of the Shiksha Sanskruti Utthan Nyas, New Delhi, delivered the convocation address. Vice Chancellor Dr. Aruna Palta presented the welcome report and administered the convocation oath to the students. MLAs Shri Lalit Chandrakar, Shri Gajendra Yadav, and Shri Rikesh Sen, along with Dr. Atul Kothari, Vice Chancellor Dr. Aruna Palta, Registrar Shri Bhupendra Kuldip, local representatives, university professors, parents, and a large number of students were present.

Raipur : In the Cabinet Meeting held today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, an important decision to establish "Guru Ghasidas-Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve" was taken.

Following the recommendations of the State Wildlife Board meeting and the concurrence of the National Tiger Conservation Authority under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, the cabinet has decided to notify the "Guru Ghasidas-Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve", integrating the regions of Guru Ghasidas National Park and Tamor Pingla Sanctuary located in the districts of Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, Koriya, Surajpur, and Balrampur, encompassing an area of 2829.387 square kilometers. The Department of Forest and Climate Change has been authorized to proceed with the further formalities regarding its establishment.

The formation of this tiger reserve will foster eco-tourism in the state and create various employment opportunities for villagers residing in the core and buffer zones, as guides, tourist vehicle operators, and resort managers. Additionally, the National Project Tiger Authority will provide an extra budget for the reserve's operations, which will facilitate new livelihood development projects in the surrounding villages.
