The ‘Rajiv Yuva Mitan Sammelan’ was held at Mela Ground in Nava Raipur on Saturday. MP Mr. Rahul Gandhi attended the event as Chief Guest. He stated that the Chhattisgarh Government, led by Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, has fulfilled every promise made to Chhattisgarh's public. The state has witnessed significant achievements, including the waiver of farmers' loans and a 50% reduction in electricity bills. The Chhattisgarh Government is also providing the highest minimum support price (MSP) for paddy, making it the top choice for paddy growers across India if ranking them in a list. "We have honoured our pledges made to the people wherever we've gone", he further stated.  

During the event, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel declared the discontinuation of the stipend system in state government appointments. Mr. Rahul Gandhi honoured the exemplary efforts of Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club members from various divisions. Newly recruited teachers received their appointment letters. They unveiled a table book titled "Vaade se Zyada" (Delivered More Than What Was Promised), published by Chhattisgarh's Public Relations Department.  

In a conference marked by a remarkable presence of youth, Mr. Rahul Gandhi stated that the state government has a focus on job creation in Chhattisgarh. He highlighted his discussions with Chief Minister Mr. Baghel, stressing the importance of utilising the diverse skills in the state to create unique products in each district. Mr. Gandhi urged to provide greater support for small entrepreneurs through bank linkages and emphasised the need for effective marketing strategies. Mr. Rahul Gandhi commended Mr. Baghel's efforts in this regard, acknowledging their success in creating new and better employment opportunities for countless young people. He envisioned Chhattisgarh as the logistical centre of India, urging investments in infrastructure to facilitate global connectivity through the state. Mr. Gandhi praised the Chhattisgarh Government's performance, believing that it has excelled in its efforts to promote economic growth and employment generation in the region.  

During his address, Mr. Rahul Gandhi emphasised the significant role of youth in the state's development and shared his vision behind the establishment of the Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club. The state government is providing Rs. 1,00,000 annually to each club, with three lakh youths joining the initiative. Mr. Gandhi highlighted the achievement of securing tribal rights through the PESA Act, underscoring the position of tribals as the primary owners of the nation's land, forests, and water resources.  

"Above all, we are Indians, and our fundamental duty is to coexist with love and respect for one another. This core message was a central theme during the "Bharat Jodo Yatra".", Mr. Rahul Gandhi stated. He underscored that progress cannot be achieved through hatred and violence and that a thriving economy is built on peace. He urged everyone to unite for the collective betterment of the country and encouraged Chhattisgarh's youth to shape its future.  

During the event, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel recalled Mr. Rahul Gandhi's visit five years ago and suggested schemes that would benefit the common people, tribals, and farmers. Mr. Baghel stated that the state government has initiated such schemes, particularly in support of farmers. Notably, Chhattisgarh doesn't charge fees for competitive exams. He highlighted the trust of the entire state's population in their government and the importance of harnessing the energy of the youth.  

The Chief Minister mentioned Unemployment Allowances for young people and their commitment to empowering the people, echoing the legacy of leaders like Prime Minister Mr. Nehru and Mr. Manmohan Singh. For the first time, the state is celebrating the youth’s participation in the state’s development. The state government is providing Rs. 1,00,000 annually to Rajiv Yuva Mitan Clubs, which disseminate information about culture, sports, and governance to marginalised communities.  

Mr. Baghel stated that the state government has an ambitious target of generating 10 to 12 lakh jobs in the next five years, emphasising the state government's commitment to better employment opportunities. Deputy Chief Minister Mr. T S Singh Deo expressed gratitude to Mr. Rahul Gandhi for his valuable time and presence at the event, underscoring the importance of their collective efforts in shaping Chhattisgarh's future.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has recorded a gradual rise in his ratings, from 53.3 percent in the previous survey to 55.7 percent in January 2023 to 59.1 percent now. A recent survey by India Today revealed that an impressive 59.1 percent of respondents expressed satisfaction with his performance in the state. This marks a significant increase in his popularity compared to the previous year's survey, where he scored 55.7 percent for his work. The India Today Group conducted this survey among citizens across the nation to evaluate the performance of their own CM within the state. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel's growing popularity is evident, with 59.1 percent of respondents showing confidence in his government's functioning. Notably, the previous year's survey reported 53.3 percent satisfaction with his work, showcasing a consistent upward trajectory in public opinion.

The Chhattisgarh Government has made significant strides in poverty alleviation, with 40 lakh individuals in the state alleviated out of multidimensional poverty over the past 4.5 years. The various NYAY schemes launched in the state have played a pivotal role in this achievement, effectively targeting poverty eradication. Such schemes, including the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan NYAY Yojana, Godhan NYAY Yojana, Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Bhumiheen Krishi Majdoor NYAY Yojana, Unemployment Allowance schemes, and Rajiv Mitan Club, have directly benefited villagers, farmers, cattle herders, women, youth, and forest produce collectors throughout the state. The state government has distributed an impressive total of Rs. 1.75 lakh crore to beneficiaries of various schemes. This substantial investment has brought about tangible improvements in the lives of the state's people, fostering economic prosperity and well-being.

NYAY schemes, launched by the Chhattisgarh Government, have yielded impressive economic growth, with per capita income hiking from Rs. 88,793 to Rs. 1,33,898 in the last 4.5 years. The state's GSDP has experienced a remarkable increase from Rs. 3,27,106 crore to Rs. 5,09,043 crore during this period, marking a 56 percent expansion in the economy's size. Remarkably, despite two consecutive years of economic disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic starting in March 2020, Chhattisgarh has managed to achieve this growth. In the fiscal year 2022–23, Chhattisgarh's growth rates in agriculture, industry, and the service sector significantly outpaced the national averages, underscoring the state's robust economic performance.

Chhattisgarh, with agriculture as its backbone and supporting the livelihoods of approximately 74 percent of its population, has witnessed remarkable strides in the last 4.5 years under the state government's pro-agriculture initiatives. These policies have invigorated the farming community, increasing their dedication to agriculture.

Notably, Chhattisgarh has ensured fair prices for farmers' produce, particularly paddy, making it the sole state in India where farmers receive the highest minimum support price rates. In addition to procuring paddy at support prices, the state government is also providing an input subsidy of Rs 9,000 per acre to farmers cultivating Kharif crops under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan NYAY Yojana. Since the inception of this scheme in 2019–20, the state government has distributed nearly Rs. 22,000 crore to farmers through direct benefit transfers into their bank accounts, further bolstering the state's agricultural sector and farmer well-being.

Chhattisgarh's Government initiatives, including the Suraji Gaon Yojana, Narva, Garuva, Ghurva, Bari Development Program, and Godhan NYAY Yojana, have significantly boosted financial self-reliance and rural economic vitality. The Narva Development Program alone has treated around 14,000 canals, aiding water conservation and elevating groundwater levels. This, in turn, has led to improved irrigation facilities and expanded double-crop farming areas. The Garuva Program has played a pivotal role in livestock preservation and enhancement, resulting in increased income from animal husbandry. Additionally, the Ghurva and Bari Development Program has fostered organic farming and enhanced nutritional standards across the state, further contributing to the well-being of the populace.

Chhattisgarh's Government has ushered in a multifaceted approach to employment and self-reliance through its innovative Godhan NYAY Yojana. This scheme, offering state government procurement of cow dung at Rs 2 per kg and cow urine at Rs 4 per litre, has become a lucrative source of supplementary income for rural cattle farmers. The utilisation of these resources has led to the production of vermicompost, organic pesticides, Brahmastra, Jeevamrit, and natural paint, all of which contribute to increased income for the people. Over 12,000 self-help groups (SHGs) comprising two lakh women have embraced diverse income sources through their association with Gauthans, empowering them economically and enhancing their financial independence.

The Chhattisgarh Government has launched several schemes to improve healthcare services in the state and make them more people-centric. These schemes, including the Mukhyamantri Haat Bazaar Clinic Yojana, Dai-Didi Clinic Yojana, Dr. Khubchand Baghel Swasthya Sahayata Yojana, Mukhyamantri Vishesh Swasthya Yojana, and Shri Dhanvantari Medical Store Scheme, have provided significant relief to the people. The Chhattisgarh Government's initiatives, such as the Half Bijli Bill Yojana and providing electricity to farmers' irrigation pumps at a subsidised rate, have also contributed to approximately Rs. 15,000 crore in savings on electricity bills.

To improve the living standards of forest dwellers in remote forest regions, the standard rate for tendupatta collection has been increased from ₹2,500 to ₹4,000 per standard bag. Additionally, successful efforts have been made to increase the income of forest dwellers through the procurement of 67 minor forest produce in the MSP and their value addition. Through the Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Bhumiheen Krishi Majdoor NYAY Yojana, the state has provided annual assistance of Rs. 7,000 to nearly 6 lakh families. The Rajiv Gandhi Mitan Clubs have played a significant role in creating awareness among people in villages about government schemes and programs, resulting in positive outcomes. This has also contributed to lifting people out of poverty.

The Chhattisgarh Government's farmer-centric policies have yielded remarkable results, with the number of farmers selling paddy at support prices surging from 12 lakh to over 24 lakh. Simultaneously, paddy production has skyrocketed from 55 lakh metric tonnes to an impressive 107 lakh metric tonnes. Over the past 4.5 years, the state has witnessed a doubling in both the number of paddy-selling farmers and paddy production. Furthermore, the area dedicated to paddy cultivation has expanded from 24 lakh 46 thousand hectares to 31 lakh 17 thousand hectares.

The state government's proactive approach is evident in the increase in Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies (PACS) from 1,333 to 2,058. Notably, Chhattisgarh has accorded agricultural status to diverse sectors, including fish farming, lac cultivation, silk farming, and beekeeping. Initiatives such as the Millet Mission, support prices for Kodu-Kutki and Ragi, and input subsidies of Rs 9,000 per acre for millet producers in remote forest areas have substantially boosted earning levels for millet farmers in the state.

The Chhattisgarh Government's farmer-friendly and welfare-oriented policies have brought tremendous prosperity in both urban and rural areas, leading to an increase in Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel's popularity. The robust rural economy has also contributed to the prosperity of the urban economy. Moreover, the state government's efforts to improve civic amenities have created a better environment in urban areas, which reflects positively on Mr. Bhupesh Baghel's popularity. A significant aspect is that Mr. Bhupesh Baghel consistently speaks about the pride of Chhattisgarh, resonating with the people. He communicates in a way that aligns with the interests of the public, which is boosting his popularity. In a survey conducted by India Today, the Chief Minister of Odisha holds first place in the survey, and the Chief Minister of Delhi is in third place. The Chief Minister of Gujarat ranks fourth, and the Chief Minister of Assam ranks fifth in the survey.

CREDAI (Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations of India) has honoured the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel for the Chhattisgarh Government's initiatives to revive the real estate sector and facilitate easy property acquisition. The STATECON-2023 was organised by CREDAI Chhattisgarh in Nava Raipur with the theme ‘Badhta Hua Chhattisgarh' to honour Chief Minister Mr.Baghel for the remarkable achievements of the state. The Chief Minister launched the CREDAI Chhattisgarh App and inaugurated the youth wing of CREDAI in Bhilai, Durg, and Bilaspur. The Housing and Environment Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar also attended STATECON-2023 with the Chief Minister.

Addressing STATECON-2023, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel highlighted the Chhattisgarh Government's efforts and their consistent practical decisions for public welfare. The state government has filled the people’s pockets with the distribution of around Rs. 1.6 lakh crore through various public-welfare schemes, fostering growth across various sectors. He further shared that, post-lockdown, Chhattisgarh led the nation in restarting industries and factories. The Rajiv Gandhi Kisan NYAY Yojana aided farmers and MNREGA labourers even during tough COVID times. Unlike other states, government officials and employees received full salaries, avoiding cuts. This financial empowerment across classes catalysed increased trade and business activity, benefiting the real estate sector as well.

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel highlighted the impact of a 30 percent reduction in land guideline rates, which spurred investment in buying and selling land and amplified revenue generation. The flexibility in small plot registrations and the reduced guideline rates contributed to an increase in revenue from Rs. 1,100 crore to Rs. 1,500 crore. He underlined the significance of the real estate sector in India's economy, acknowledging its slowdown due to demonetization, the COVID-19 pandemic, and subsequent lockdowns. The Chhattisgarh Government's strategic decisions emerged as a remedy, revitalising the real estate sector and protecting it from economic devastation. The sector recovered swiftly, leaving recessionary trends behind. CM Mr. Baghel announced impending projects like Aero City and the Wholesale Corridor in Raipur, aimed at bolstering local trade and commerce. During the program, responding to CREDAI's request, the Chief Minister addressed the need for coloniser licences post-implementation of the RERA Acts in the state. He also discussed formulating guidelines for rural real estate akin to those in urban areas, underscoring the government's commitment to fostering equitable development across regions.

Speaking at STATECON-2023, Housing and Environment Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar praised Chhattisgarh's natural resources, including minerals, forests, fertile land, and the availability of low-cost electricity. Under Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel's leadership, the state is progressing and achieving new milestones every year. The state government has implemented various decisions to boost the real estate sector. Mr. Akbar urged CREDAI to provide a plan for realising affordable housing for low-income individuals.

CREDAI's National President, Mr. Manoj Gaur, conveyed gratitude to Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel for the real estate sector-friendly decisions during the program. He lauded the single-window clearance system initiated for colonisers and developers, streamlining processes and enhancing efficiency. The President of CREDAI Chhattisgarh, Mr. Sanjay Raheja, highlighted the Chief Minister's supportive stance towards real estate sector issues, resulting in unprecedented progress. The Chhattisgarh Government, led by Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, has realized the aspirations of former Prime Minister Late Mr. Rajiv Gandhi. The state government has made a commitment to enhance the quality of life for all societal sectors, classes, and communities. This endeavour truly stands as a tribute to Mr. Rajiv Gandhi. Member of Parliament, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, conveyed this sentiment in her video message during a program held in Mahasamund district to commemorate the birth anniversary of the late Bharat Ratna former Prime Minister, Mr. Rajiv Gandhi.

During the program, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel released an amount of Rs. 2,055.60 crore to beneficiaries of various state government schemes. Additionally, he dedicated 224 development projects worth Rs. 704 crore in the Mahasamund district. He announced the formation of 18 new tehsils and 13 new sub-divisional offices. He also announced to upgrade the Mahasamund Municipal Council to a Municipal Corporation and the Gram Panchayat Bhoring to a Nagar Panchayat. He also announced the construction of composite buildings in Mahasamund in next year's budget.

Mrs. Gandhi emphasised in her video message that maintaining agricultural progress is essential for poverty alleviation. The Chhattisgarh Government's resolute actions are turning Rajiv Gandhi's aspirations into reality, elevating the economic status of numerous farmers, and instilling hope and happiness. She commended the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan NYAY Yojana for providing not only subsidies but also exemplary decisions for farmer welfare, setting a benchmark for other states. These decisions have increased production and led to an unprecedented rise in farmers' income. Notably, the state government has also launched the Rajiv Gandhi Bhumiheen Krishi Mazdoor NYAY Yojana for agricultural labourers, ensuring economic assistance and support.

Recalling Mr.Rajiv Gandhi's vision, Mrs. Gandhi shared that Rajiv Ji believed India is an old country but a young nation. She highlighted his aspiration for a strong, self-reliant India to lead globally and serve humanity. She shared that, according to Rajiv Ji, a robust India requires empowered farmers; their strength bolsters the nation's self-reliance and independence. Rajiv Ji's unwavering connection with farmers underscored his belief that farmer's progress determines the country's progress.

Chhattisgarh Government alleviated 40 lakh individuals from poverty in five years*

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel shared that recent NITI Aayog data revealed that the Chhattisgarh Government has alleviated 40 lakh individuals from poverty in five years. According to the report, there is a 23-25% poverty reduction in Kabirdham, Surguja, and Dantewada districts. Districts like Raipur, Dhamtari, and Balod now have poverty rates below 10%. Mr. Baghel shared that the state government has made consistent efforts to address the issue of poverty, and now these efforts have shown a positive impact, as evidenced by the NITI Aayog’s report.

The Chief Minister attributed these achievements to the NYAY Yojana’ for farmers, labourers, and tribals, bolstering the rural economy and enhancing education and health infrastructure. He stressed the pivotal role of empowered farmers in strengthening the economy. Notably, the paddy procurement system has been enhanced, ensuring timely payments to farmers and reflecting the state government's commitment to their welfare. Urban infrastructure expansion also played a key role in these advancements. 

Addressing the people present, the Chief Minister emphasised the state government's versatile health schemes, such as the Dr. Khubchand Baghel Swasthya Sahayata Yojana (providing up to Rs. 5 lakh for treatment) and the Mukhyamantri Swasthya Sahayata Yojana (offering up to Rs. 25 lakh for serious ailments). Illustrating their efficacy, he shared the case of a poor family whose child received treatment worth Rs. 19 lakh for a lung ailment. He highlighted the administration's commitment to quality healthcare and support systems. He shared that previously the state had only 6 medical colleges, which have expanded to 10 recently, and the state government has decided to open 4 more medical colleges, totaling 14 medical colleges in the state. 

Ration facilities have been extended to 74 lakh ration card holders, while 42 lakh families benefit from the ‘Bijli Bill Half Yojana’. The state government has established 377 English-medium and 349 Hindi-medium schools under the Swami Atmanand Excellent School Scheme to improve the quality of education. The state government has also prioritised the preservation of cultural heritage in the state. The Ram Van Gaman Path has been established, which is dedicated to Lord Shri Ram and showcases the state's natural beauty. Kaushalya Mata's temple has garnered national and international attention, contributing to cultural preservation. The Chief Minister concluded by applauding the government's commitment to safeguarding cultural heritage, facilitating healthcare, and fostering education.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has released online an amount of Rs. 2055.6 crore to the beneficiaries, that include cattle rearers, farmers, labourers, and villagers, of various schemes in a program organised in Mahasamund district on August 20. He has distributed Rs. 1810 crore as the second installment of the "Rajiv Gandhi Kisan NYAY Yojana" to beneficiaries. After the distribution of this amount, the input subsidy amount to 24.30 lakh farmers under this scheme has reached Rs. 21,912 crore in the state. Similarly, he has distributed Rs. 168.63 crore as the second installment of the 'Rajiv Gandhi Bhumiheen Krishi Mazdoor NYAY Yojana, and after this, the total amount distributed to 5.6 lakh beneficiaries has reached Rs. 758.03 crore. He has released an amount of Rs. 66.21 crore to Rajiv Yuva Mitan (RYM) clubs. The 13,242 RYM Clubs have received Rs. 132.48 crore to engage youth in creative pursuits. Furthermore, he has distributed Rs. 9.65 crore to beneficiaries of the 'Godhan NYAY Yojana'. After the distribution of this amount, a total of Rs. 551.31 crore has been distributed to women's SHGs, Gauthan committees, and villagers in the state. He has distributed Rs. 1.11 crore to gram panchayats in the non-scheduled area under the 'Mukhyamantri Parab Samman Nidhi Yojana'. With this allocation, a total of Rs. 6.11 crore has been distributed to 6,111 Gram Panchaya

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel has flagged off 7 mobile veterinary units for Mahasamund and 43 for other divisional districts. The state government has initiated the ‘Mukhyamantri Gauvansh Mobile Chikitsa Yojana’, akin to the 'Mukhyamantri Shehri Swasthya Sahayata Yojana’ and ‘Mukhyamantri Haat Bazar Clinic Yojana’ and now comprises 163 mobile vans statewide. The birth anniversary of the late Bharat Ratna Prime Minister Mr. Rajiv Gandhi will be observed on August 20 and to mark his birth anniversary, the state government will distribute the second installment of the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan NYAY’ Yojana, amounting to Rs 1,894.93 crore, to the beneficiaries. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel will virtually transfer the amount to 24,52,592 farmers' bank accounts in an event that will be held in the Mahasamund district on August 20. The scheme, aiming to assist farmers, will further provide subsequent instalments of approximately Rs 4,000 crore in October and March.

Allocating Rs 6,800 crore for the ongoing fiscal year, the Chhattisgarh Government anticipates an approximate outlay of Rs 8,000 crore for input subsidies under the scheme. This projection considered the substantial count of registered farmers, cultivated land, and paddy procurement from the previous Kharif season. Beneficiaries of the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan NYAY Yojana cover the farmers who indulge in the cultivation of paddy, kodo-kutki, ragi, pulses, oilseeds, other non-paddy crops, and tree-planting farmers.

The Rajiv Gandhi Kisan NYAY Yojana was launched to reduce input agricultural expenses and encourage crop diversification. It offers a Rs 9,000 per acre input subsidy to Kharif crop cultivators. Launched in the 2019 Kharif season, the state government has distributed a total of Rs 20,103 crore as input subsidies to the farmers. Adding the upcoming second installment in this fiscal year, the cumulative figure will reach Rs 21,997.96 crore.

Under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan NYAY Yojana, 18.43 lakh paddy cultivators have received an amount of Rs 5627.02 crore as an input subsidy, at the rate of Rs 10 thousand per acre, during the Kharif Season 2019, while during the Kharif Season 2020, 20.59 lakh paddy cultivators have received an amount of Rs 5553.08 crore as an input subsidy into their bank accounts.

In the year 2021, the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan NYAY Yojana has expanded its scope to encompass all Kharif and horticulture crops, granting productive farmers an annual input subsidy of Rs 9,000 per acre. Moreover, in the 2020–21 period, a provision of Rs 10,000 per acre was extended for cultivating non-paddy crops, horticulture, or tree planting in regions where paddy was previously sold at the minimum support price. In the 2021 Kharif season, an input subsidy of Rs 7,028 crore was distributed to 23.35 lakh farmers cultivating crops other than paddy, and horticulture crops, directly into their bank accounts.

Chhattisgarh's agriculture received a significant boost from the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan NYAY Yojana, as farmers benefit from input subsidies. The scheme sparks a renewed interest in farming; farmers who once gave up farming are now taking the profession back. The number of farmers selling paddy in the state has witnessed a surge of over 11 lakh as compared to 2017-18, while procurement has doubled. Record paddy procurement has been consistently achieved since 2018–19. Chhattisgarh now ranks second nationwide in contributing to the Central Pool with its paddy supply. Remarkably, the state leads the nation in terms of farmers selling paddy at support prices, showcasing its agricultural prominence.

Chief Minister Mr.Bhupesh Baghel delighted youth at a Bhent-Mulakat program in Raipur's Indoor Stadium. Enthusiastic speaker Master Someshwar Ganjir, hailing from Dhamtari, passionately delivered a speech on "Sapno ka Chhattisgarh" using verses from the Rigveda. Impressed by Someshwar's speech, the Chief Minister called him on stage, hugged him, and bestowed his blessings. The stadium echoed with applause as Chief Minister Mr. Baghel praised the young speaker's impactful words.

During an interactive session, engineering student Shagun Srivastava asked about the government's efforts to involve youth in politics. The Chief Minister emphasised that more young people actively joining politics would lead to an educated leadership, which may ensure the progress of the state. Encouraging youth to join politics, he shared his own journey. Bhujesh Kumar from Dhamtari asked the Chief Minister about his struggles during his studies. Remembering the past, the Chief Minister shared the issues of roads, electricity, and drains in his village, thinking that only an MLA could solve these issues. This fueled his aspiration to become an MLA himself, and through persistent efforts, he achieved his current position, dedicated to resolving people's problems.

In a significant event, the Chief Minister engaged in direct interaction with numerous youths hailing from various regions of the Raipur division. The youth shared their concerns and demands, and the Chief Minister not only attentively listened to them but also made important on-the-spot announcements. These included the posting of dentists in rural areas for two years, the introduction of a PG course at the Government Girls College of Dhamtari district, the appointment of physiotherapists in health centres, the provision of hostels in the physiotherapy college, and the recruitment of teachers in schools for the Chhattisgarhi language. The Bhent-Mulakat program with the youth commenced with Rajyageet ‘Arpa Pairi Ke Dhaar, Mahanadi He Apaar’.

During the event, enthusiastic youth expressed their aspirations, poems, and speeches about their dream for Chhattisgarh in front of the Chief Minister. Pranav Kumar, a PSC aspirant, urged for the release of preliminary examination mark sheets and the implementation of transparency measures, and the Chief Minister assured him of considering the demands. Dharmesh Nayak, a tattoo artist, requested the declaration of Mahadevghat as an art centre to support tattoo artists, and the Chief Minister assured him of considering the suggestion. The interaction showcased a positive engagement between the Chief Minister and the youth.

Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya student Bhojraj Dhangar requested to appoint trained art teachers in government schools. The Chief Minister responded, stating that with the opening of new colleges affiliated with the Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, this would be extended to schools too. Devendra Satnami from Kasdol requested free bus tickets for college students. The Chief Minister assured a positive initiative in response to this demand.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, Shri Bhupesh Baghel to engage with the youth of Raipur division during his 'Bhent-Mulakat Yuvao ke Sath' programme on Sunday, July 23. The upcoming event is anticipated to strengthen the connection between the state's youth and the government, fostering a conducive environment for progress and development.

The event will take place at the Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium in the state capital, Raipur. Chief Minister Shri Baghel will engage with the youth from all five districts of the division, including college students, members of Mitan clubs, and aspirants preparing for competitive exams, among others.

To ensure the successful organization of the programme, Collector Dr Sarveshwar Bhure recently convened a meeting with senior district officials, discussing the detailed outline of the event and necessary arrangements pertaining to law and order, ensuring timely preparations. Municipal Commissioner Shri Mayank Chaturvedi, Zila Panchayat CEO Shri Abinash Mishra along with other officials attended the meeting.

The direct interaction drive with youth marks an expansion of the Chief Minister's previous state-wide public interaction drive--'Bhent-Mulakat Abhiyan', designed to connect with citizens across all assembly constituencies, addressing their concerns and garnering feedback on government schemes. In this upcoming 'Bhent-Mulakat' with youth, Shri Bhupesh Baghel will discuss Chhattisgarh's progress, initiatives focused on youth development, accomplishments, and aspirations with the youth. Notably, over the last four years, Chief Minister Shri Baghel has prioritized youth welfare through several beneficial decisions, such as fee waivers for competitive exams, the successful implementation of the state's employment mission, and the facilitation of large-scale government recruitments. With the ban on recruitment lifted, approximately 20,000 government positions are being filled, while job fairs are being organized to offer numerous job opportunities. Furthermore, over 1.17 lakh unemployed youth receive monthly unemployment allowances, with more than Rs 80 crores already disbursed to their accounts.

This is the story of Mr. Ram Sundar hailing from Bhelkachh village of Pratappur district. His life took a turn 3 years ago when he met with an accident while driving and suffered a serious spinal injury. The nerve passing through the spinal cord was compressed in the injury, causing his lower body to stop functioning. Mr. Ram Sundar says that after the accident, he was admitted to the sub-health center of Pratappur, from where he was referred to the district hospital and then to Ambikapur district hospital for treatment. But the situation could not improve. On the basis of his 90 percent disability, the Medical Board granted him a handicapped certificate. To get rid of this disparity and live a better life, Mr. Ram Sundar presented his grievance before Collector Mr. Sanjay Agrawal with an application. Collector Mr. Sanjay Agrawal immediately took it into consideration and directed the Deputy Director to provide a tricycle as soon as possible. Following this, a motorized tricycle was provided to the differently-abled Mr. Ram Sundar by the Social Welfare Department. Along with this, Mr. Ram Sundar was provided with a ration card by the Food Department due to his disability. This positive step by the district administration will undoubtedly change his life.  Mr. Ram Sundar expressed gratitude to the district administration for providing him a motorized tricycle. Expressing his happiness, he stated that it has re-infused enthusiasm into his life and boosted his self-confidence. Now with this tricycle, I can support my family's livelihood.

 Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha demanding discussions on the situation in Manipur

Ahead of the Monsoon session of Parliament that begins Thursday, several opposition MPs have given notices in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha demanding discussions on the situation in Manipur arising from a fresh controversy as a video of two women being paraded naked surfaced and was widely circulated.

The women were allegedly gangraped and the Manipur Police police said an investigation is on. Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh has given suspension of Business Notice in Rajya Sabha under rule 267. and demanded to discussion on Manipur violence.

Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi and AIMIM’s Asaduddin Owaisi has moved adjournment motions in Lok Sabha over the issue.

Congress’ Manickam Tagore gave adjournment motion notices in Lok Sabha on the Manipur situation demanding a discussion on the “violence against women and children in the northeastern state.”

CPI MP Binoy Viswam, Rashtriya Janata Dal MP Manoj Jha and Congress MP Ranjeet Ranjan also gave suspension of Business Notices in the the Upper House under rule 267, to discuss the Manipur situation.

The opposition parties are insisting that the discussion should take place in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Meanwhile, according to sources, the Centre has asked Twitter and other social media platforms to pull down the video of the two Manipur women paraded naked as the matter is under investigation.

Manipur has been witnessing violence since May 3, following the protests by the Kuki and Naga communities against the High Court’s order asking the state government to consider the inclusion of Meitei community in the category of Scheduled Tribes (ST). Only STs can buy lands in hilly areas.

The majority Meitei community, which occupy the Imphal valley and nearby areas, sought the ST status keeping in view their increasing population and increased requirement of land, so that they could purchase lands in the hilly areas.

The government has planned heavy legislative business for the monsoon session of Parliament beginning Thursday with Digital Personal Data Protection Bill, 2023, among 31 bills on its agenda.

Chief Minister Shri Baghel also took a 'Gedi' ride, a cherished age-old tradition during the Hareli festival. Radiating enthusiasm and energy, he embodied the joy and excitement of youth expressing their happiness while engaging in the 'Gedi' ride tradition during Hareli.

Chief Minister inspected stalls of various departments

A stall displaying dairy products and traditional agricultural tools was also set up at the venue by the Agriculture and Livestock Development Department. Chief Minister personally visited the stalls and commended the innovative efforts of the department in boosting farmers' income. The stalls primarily showcased a wide array of dairy products and animal feed. Furthermore, the Chief Minister took visited the stall dedicated to traditional agricultural tools. The stall exhibited traditional agricultural tools including Rapa, Datarai, Koper, Dheki, Tangia, Supa, Jata, Jhauha, Parasi, and Hansiya. Shri Baghel heaped praise on the stall stating that it is important to familiarize today's youth with these traditional tools and equipment. These tools are not merely associated with agriculture but are deeply intertwined with the region's rich culture and heritage.

 Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel greets the people of Chhattisgarh on ‘Hareli Tihar’

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel extends his greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of ‘Hareli Tihar’. He highlights that Hareli Tihar brings joy and prosperity to all. In his message, Mr. Baghel emphasises that the festivals in Chhattisgarh vividly showcases the state's culture. ‘Hareli Tihar’, unique to Chhattisgarh, is the first agricultural festival of the state and holds immense significance in the lives of its people. During this festival, farming tools are worshipped, symbolising the prayer for abundant and good harvests. By venerating Mother Earth on this day, people express gratitude for her role in sustaining us.

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel highlighted the vibrant celebrations of Hareli Tihar in rural areas, where various agricultural tools such as ‘naagar’(plough), geti (pickaxe), ‘kudali’, and ‘fawda’(shovel) are meticulously cleaned and worshipped. Following ancient customs, neem leaves are planted outside homes for protection. A traditional feature of Hareli is playing Gedi, and this year, the Forest Department has made ‘Gedi’ available for purchase at C-Mart, enabling people of urban areas to engage with their ancestral traditions and contribute to the economic progress of people of rural areas. Mr. Baghel announced that the Chhattisgarh Government has declared a public holiday on the day of the ‘Hareli Tihar’ to strengthen the connection between the people and their traditions. It is gratifying to note that the enthusiasm and fervour of Hareli Tihar, a folk festival of Chhattisgarh, have now spread to foreign countries as well. Overseas Indians celebrate Hareli Tihar with great enthusiasm, promoting and sharing their culture worldwide.

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel shared that the Chhattisgarh Government has made significant efforts to preserve the state's culture and traditions. Three years ago, on the occasion of ‘Hareli Tihar’, the state government launched the ambitious and distinctive 'Godhan NYAY Yojana' in the state. In 2022, the state government started a new initiative to procure ‘gau-mutra' (cow urine) to promote organic farming and economic empowerment. This year, the state government has decided to commence the Chhattisgarh Olympics on the auspicious day of ‘Hareli Tihar’.

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel emphasised the farmer's prosperity as an important factor in ensuring overall happiness and prosperity for the people of Chhattisgarh. The state is actively strengthening the rural economy by reviving traditional resources through initiatives such as ‘Narva, Garuva, Ghurva, Bari Yojana, Godhan NYAY Yojana, and ‘Roka-Chheka Abhiyan’. The state government has established Gauthans, designed as rural livelihood centres, to support this endeavour. The Chief Minister stressed that preserving and passing on traditions to future generations is a collective responsibility. It is hoped that all citizens of the state will actively participate in realising the vision of a vibrant and prosperous Chhattisgarh.
