CM Shri Sai Attends ‘Chhattisgarhi Filmo Ke Safar’ Event on State's Silver Jubilee Celebration; Senior Artists and Producers Felicitated

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday attended the programme Chhattisgarhi Filmo Ke Safar - “Journey of Chhattisgarhi Films”, organised by the Chhattisgarh Film Vikas Nigam on the occasion of the state’s Silver Jubilee celebrations. The event was held at Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium, Science College campus, Raipur. On the occasion, the Chief Minister shared his views in detail on the growth, achievements and promising future of Chhattisgarhi cinema.

In his address, CM Shri Sai recalled the contribution of former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh in the formation of the Chhattisgarh Film Vikas Nigam, stating that he played a significant role in laying a strong foundation for Chhattisgarhi Cinema - Chhollywood. He also paid tribute to the corporation’s first chairman, late Rajesh Awasthi, saying his untimely demise was an irreparable loss not only to Chhattisgarhi cinema but to the entire state.

Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarhi cinema has now entered a new era. Appreciating the sitting chairperson of the corporation, Ms Mona Sen, as an experienced, hardworking and dedicated artist, he expressed confidence that under her leadership, Chhollywood would witness all-round development. He said that in the coming years, Chhattisgarhi films would further strengthen the state’s culture, art and identity at national and international platforms.

Referring to the historical journey of filmmaking in Chhattisgarh, CM Shri Sai said that film production in the state began in the year 1957. He termed the National Award received by film “Bhulan The Maze” is based on the novel Bhulan Kanda, as a matter of pride for the entire state. The Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarhi cinema is deeply rooted in folk culture, folklore and social concerns, which gives it a distinct identity. “Chhattisgarhi cinema is a living document of our folk culture and cultural identity,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is working with full seriousness and commitment towards the development of Chhattisgarhi films. As part of this effort, Chitrotpala Film City is being developed, for which an amount of Rs 150 crore has been approved. Expressing confidence in the bright future of Chhollywood, CM Shri Sai said the government would extend all possible support to take the film industry to new heights.

Extending greetings on the Silver Jubilee year of Chhattisgarh, the Chief Minister said that this historic year is scripting a new chapter of all-round development for the state. He expressed hope that the programme would prove to be a milestone in the direction of Chhattisgarhi cinema’s growth.

On the occasion, CM Shri Sai also felicitated eminent producers and senior artists who have made significant contributions to Chhattisgarhi cinema, including Shri Mohan Sundrani, Shri Satish Jain, Shri Santosh Jain, Shri Manoj Verma, Shri Anuj Sharma and Shri Prem Chandrakar.

Addressing the gathering, Chhattisgarh Film Development Corporation chairperson Ms Mona Sen welcomed the Chief Minister and thanked him for the reorganisation of the corporation. Thanking Shri Satish Jain, producer of the iconic Chhattisgarhi film Mor Chhainha Bhuiyan. She said the film played a crucial role in giving Chhattisgarhi cinema a new identity. She reiterated her commitment to the holistic and sustainable development of the Chhattisgarhi film industry.

Raipur : Chhattisgarh can be transformed into a developed state only by following the path of truth, equality and humanity shown by Baba Guru Ghasidas, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said on Thursday. He said the state government is working with sustained commitment towards building an egalitarian justice-oriented and prosperous Chhattisgarh in line with the ideals and dreams of great personalities. The Chief Minister was addressing the Guru Ghasidas Jayanti and three-day fair programme organised at Lalpur in Mungeli district.

On the occasion, CM Shri Sai announced the establishment of a new college at Lalpur, enhancement of financial assistance for organising the fair and programme from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh, approval of Rs 25 lakh for construction of an entrance gate at the programme venue, and Rs 25 lakh for renovation of the Mungeli Satnam Bhavan.

At the beginning of the programme, the Chief Minister offered prayers at the Baba Guru Ghasidas temple and Jaitkham, seeking blessings for the happiness, prosperity and welfare of the people of the state.

CM Shri Sai said that during the completion of two years of the government, most of the guarantees of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi have been fulfilled. The Chief Minister reiterated that the government is fully committed to procuring paddy from every eligible farmer.

He said that over the past two years, there has been a significant increase in both the area under paddy cultivation and the number of farmers. He added that 70 lakh women in the state are benefiting from the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. Transparency is being ensured in the PSC selection process, he said. The Chief Minister also stated that a new industrial policy has been implemented in the state to enable children from every section of society to become entrepreneurs. He called upon everyone to work together for building a developed Chhattisgarh. On the occasion, the Satnam Code of Conduct and an awareness calendar were also released.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao said that the Anusuchit Jati Vikas Pradhikaran has been strengthened by increasing its budget from Rs 50 crore to Rs 75 crore. Cabinet Minister Shri Guru Khushwant Saheb said that inclusive development of all sections of society is taking place in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. He said the government’s decision to provide financial assistance of Rs 15 lakh each to five talented boys and girls from the Scheduled community for pilot training reflects its farsightedness.

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the program to celebrate Baba Guru Ghasidas Jayanti at Khaira–Setganga Dham in Mungeli district on December 18. Addressing the programme, he stated that Guru Ghasidas Baba inspired society to follow the path of equality, harmony and humanity. His teachings continue to strengthen social unity, brotherhood and mutual respect even today.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai performed traditional pooja at the Jaitkhamb, offered palo, and paid obeisance at the Gurugaddi and Ram Janaki Temple. He prayed for the happiness, prosperity and overall welfare of the people of Chhattisgarh.

Making significant announcements for the holistic development of Setganga Dham, the Chief Minister approved Rs. 50 lakh for the construction of a community hall, Rs. 50 lakh for the development of the Ram Janaki Temple as tourism destination, and Rs. 10 lakh for organising the Guru Ghasidas Jayanti programme.

Chief Minister Shri Sai extended greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the completion of two years of the state government and on the occasion of Chhattisgarh’s Silver Jubilee year. He stated that projects related to roads, power supply, security and development are progressing at a rapid pace throughout the state. State Government is consistently providing the benefits of various public welfare schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, to the people of state.

The Chief Minister stated that paddy is being procured from farmers at the rate of Rs. 3,100 per quintal. He added that under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, financial assistance is being provided to more than 70 lakh women with the objective of their economic empowerment. To ensure administrative transparency, the e-Office system is being promoted, and concrete and effective steps are also being taken towards the elimination of Naxalism.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao highlighted the historical and religious significance of Setganga Dham and said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh is steadily moving forward on the path of development.

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday extended warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Chhattisgarh on the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Ghasidas Ji, the revered social reformer and symbol of spiritual awakening, observed on 18 December.

In his message, the Chief Minister stated that Baba Guru Ghasidas Ji, through his life and teachings, guided society towards the path of truth, non-violence, equality and social harmony. He described the saint’s immortal message — “Mankhe-Mankhe Ek Saman” (all human beings are equal) — as not merely a slogan, but a profound philosophy that binds humanity together and lays a strong foundation for justice, equality and an egalitarian social order.

Chief Minister Shri Sai noted that Baba Guru Ghasidas Ji played a pioneering role in igniting social and spiritual consciousness on the land of Chhattisgarh. The released books include Bastar Dussehra (Hindi & English), Punyabhoomi Chhattisgarh - Sacred Land of Chhattisgarh (Hindi & English), Chhattisgarh Ke Atulya Jalpratap - Chhattisgarh’s Incomparable Waterfalls (Hindi & English), Baiga Tattoo (Hindi & English).

Raipur : Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday released the travelogue ‘Meri Nazar Se Arunachal Pradesh’ at the Assembly premises. The book is based on the Arunachal Pradesh tour of the Journalists’ Advisory Committee and has been written by Dr Avadhesh Mishra, State Editor of electronic TV channel BSTV.

On the occasion, Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh said that travel holds special importance in life. It not only helps in relieving stress but also rejuvenates the mind and infuses fresh energy. Sharing his experiences, he said that he regularly reads travelogues and developed this interest after reading the works of Shri Rahul Sankrityayan. Through travelogues, readers can understand the geography, culture and lifestyle of different regions of the country and abroad while sitting at home. Congratulating Dr Avadhesh Mishra, Dr Singh said that documenting the journey of the Journalists’ Gallery Advisory Committee is a commendable initiative and this travelogue will also prove useful for tourists. Launch of 10,000 livelihood pond works under MGNREGA

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Saturday unveiled an attractive coffee table book at his office in the Vidhansabha marking two years of the decision taken in his first cabinet meeting to approve 18 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin). The book effectively presents the historic progress, innovations and achievements of the rural housing scheme in the state.

Under PMAY-G, a total 24.37 lakh houses have been granted approval against a target of 26.27 lakh houses while construction of 17.14 lakh houses has been completed. Notably, in just two years of its tenure, the present government has completed nearly 8 lakh houses, setting a new benchmark in rural housing construction in the state.

On the same occasion, CM Shri Sai also launched 10,000 livelihood pond (Aajeevika Dabri) construction works under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA). These works are targeted for completion by May 2026. The ponds will be constructed on private land of eligible beneficiaries, including PMAY-G beneficiaries, under MGNREGA. This initiative is expected to boost rural employment while ensuring sustainable enhancement of livelihoods and incomes of farmers and rural families.

During the programme, approval letters for livelihood ponds were also distributed to beneficiaries of the Janman Awas Yojana in Kabirdham district and to beneficiaries under a special project for surrendered Naxalites and families affected by Naxal violence in Narayanpur district under PMAY-G, marking a significant step towards social rehabilitation and mainstreaming.

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday released the coffee table book ‘Urjavan Chhattisgarh’, published by the Chhattisgarh State Power Board on the occasion of its silver jubilee, at the Chief Minister’s Office in the new Vidhansabha complex. The book chronicles the 25-year journey of Chhattisgarh since its formation, highlighting the achievements, milestones and development of the Chhattisgarh State Power Board and its successor power companies.

Addressing the gathering, CM Shri Sai said the coffee table book serves as a vivid documentation of the historic transformation of Chhattisgarh’s energy sector, showcasing infrastructure development, innovations and public service-oriented initiatives. He noted that the publication captures the state’s significant accomplishments in the power sector through robust planning, adoption of modern technology and a consumer-centric approach. The book highlights wide-ranging reforms in the electricity sector, from the establishment of supercritical thermal power plants and achieving an installed capacity of 32,000 MW to strengthening coal mining operations and expanding the statewide transmission and distribution network.

The chief minister congratulated the Chhattisgarh State Power Board team and extended his best wishes, while also appreciating the dedication, commitment and contributions of officers and employees working in the energy sector.

Invitation Extended for Three-Day Guruparv Marking 269th Birth Anniversary of Baba Guru Ghasidas

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai met a delegation of the Satnami Vikas Parishad, Sarangarh, at his residence office here on Monday. Skill Development Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb was also present during the meeting.

The delegation invited Chief Minister to attend the three-day Guruparv 2025 as chief guest, being organized to mark the 269th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Ghasidas. They informed him that the festival, scheduled for December 18, 19 and 20, will draw large participation from members of the Satnami community, and will serve as a grand celebration of the community’s faith, unity and cultural heritage.

Chief Minister Shri Sai graciously accepted the invitation and said the Satnami community has consistently enriched Chhattisgarh’s social, cultural and spiritual fabric. Awareness Camps Planned to Boost Rabi Acreage, Raise Pulses–Oilseeds Productivity

Raipur : Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY), introduced in 2025–26, is a government initiative designed to raise farmers’ income and agricultural productivity in under-performing districts by integrating 36 schemes across 11 ministries. The scheme places emphasis on irrigation, storage, accessible credit and crop diversification, with the aim of strengthening farmer self-reliance and supporting India’s mission of achieving self-sufficiency in pulses and other key crops.

As part of the scheme, special training camps are being organized in every cooperative society to familiarize farmers with modern rabi crop techniques and to encourage them to diversify into fisheries, animal husbandry and related agri-based activities. It also aims to boost rabi acreage and raise productivity of pulses and oilseeds.

Progressive Farmers Engaged as Trainers

In Jashpur district, progressive farmers who have achieved higher yields and better income through modern farm practices are being included as trainers in these camps. They are sharing their experiences, challenges and the benefits they have received under various government schemes so that more farmers can adopt advanced agricultural methods. Officials from agriculture and allied departments are providing information on government schemes, subsidy processes and scientific cultivation practices. Scientists from the Krishi Vigyan Kendra and the agricultural college are also taking part, promoting modern agricultural technologies and motivating farmers to adopt improved methods.

Support Price Facility for Pulses and Oilseeds Growers

Nine cooperative societies have been registered in Jashpur district where farmers growing pulses and oilseeds can sell urad, moong and groundnut at the minimum support price if market rates fall. The district administration has urged farmers to complete registration on the Integrated Farmer Portal, and assistance is available through the local rural agriculture extension officer.

Farmer Producer Organizations to Help Raise Income

Representatives of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) from each development block in Jashpur will be present at the training camps. Farmers who are not yet part of any FPO can obtain detailed information and apply for membership on the spot. Joining an FPO offers access to modern techniques, group marketing and collective procurement and sale, enabling farmers to take meaningful steps towards significantly increasing their income.

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai held a press conference in Rajnandgaon on December 9. He stated that the two years of the present Chhattisgarh Government have proved to be a decisive turning point in the state’s history. He stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, the nation is moving swiftly towards the goal of achieving the “complete elimination of Naxalism by 31 March 2026.” He added that the backbone of Naxalism has been broken and the movement is now in its final phase.

He stated that security forces have achieved unprecedented success over the past two years. More than 500 Maoists have been neutralised in encounters, while over 4,000 cadres have surrendered or been arrested, clearly indicating that the extremist network is weakening. He shared that the courage and determination of the forces have ensured a decisive edge against decades of violence in Bastar.

He also shared about the state government’s new rehabilitation policy, under which 15,000 houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana have been sanctioned for surrendered cadres, along with monthly financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 for three years, skill-development training, and employment-linked programmes. The Chief Minister stated that the aspiration of “leaving the path of bullets and joining the mainstream” is now becoming a reality across Bastar. Innovations such as Pandum Café have emerged as symbols of social transformation.

The Chief Minister added that with rapid expansion of security camps and deeper administrative outreach in Bastar, more than 400 villages have been resettled. Through the Niyad Nella Nar Yojana, essential services such as roads, electricity, drinking water, healthcare, and education are reaching remote habitations. He remarked that “places once echoing with gunfire now resonate with school bells,” as several villages witnessed national flag-hoisting after many years. People are participating fearlessly in elections and gaining access to services ranging from ration cards to mobile networks.

Highlighting Bastar’s role in future development, the Chief Minister stated that agriculture, irrigation, minor forest produce, animal husbandry, and small industries are creating “new livelihood opportunities.” He noted that the Industrial Policy 2024–30 has special provisions for Naxal-affected districts, with an emphasis on value addition, processing, and rural enterprise so that local youth can secure sustainable income and employment.

The Chief Minister stated that after the declaration of tourism as an industry, Bastar is rapidly emerging on the global tourism map. Kutumsar caves, waterfalls, the forests of Abujhmad, and the region’s tribal cultural heritage are drawing international attention. The home-stay model is flourishing and strengthening local economies. Bastar is now being recognised for “community-driven, eco-friendly tourism initiatives.”

He concluded by stating that this historic progress in eliminating Naxalism is a tribute to the state’s martyrs, the relentless commitment of security forces, and the trust of the people. He expressed confidence that, in line with the resolve of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, Bastar will soon be completely free from Naxalism and move forward in the “mainstream of inclusive development.”

Raipur : In a solemn display of respect and gratitude towards India’s armed forces, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai reaffirmed the State’s commitment to honouring those who stand guard for the nation’s security. Marking Armed Forces Flag Day at his Raipur residence office, the Chief Minister received Brigadier Vivek Sharma, Secretary of the Chhattisgarh State Soldiers’ Welfare Board, who called on him to present the symbolic honour badge and apprise him of the welfare activities and schemes being undertaken by the Directorate of Sainik Welfare.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai said, “Armed Forces Flag Day is a sacred occasion to express our gratitude for the courage, sacrifice and unyielding dedication of our brave soldiers and their families. The contribution of our armed personnel, who stand vigil day and night for the protection of our nation, is truly incomparable.” He added that the day reminds citizens of their shared responsibility to stand beside serving soldiers, ex-servicemen and the families of martyrs with compassion and support.

Chief Minister also made a personal contribution towards the welfare of soldiers and their families to mark the day. Member of Parliament Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste and Padma Shri awardee Ms. Usha Barle were present at the occasion.

CM Shri Sai attends the oath-taking ceremony of Sarv Ravidas Samaj

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the oath-taking ceremony of the Chhattisgarh Sarv Ravidas Samaj held at the Krishak Auditorium of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University in Raipur on December 7. The Chief Minister administered the oath to all newly elected office-bearers and conveyed his best wishes. Addressing the program, he stated that education is a foundation of social development. Whether it is the art of living, trade, agriculture or any other field, the first step towards success in every sector begins with education.

Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the State Government is making efforts to improve the quality of education. At the time of state formation, there was only one medical college; today, nearly fifteen medical colleges operate across the state. Similarly, with the establishment of national and international institutions such as IIT, IIIT, IIM, Law University, AIIMS and CIPET in Chhattisgarh, local youth have gained significant opportunities for growth.

The Chief Minister stated that it is essential for society to remain strong and organised, as only an organised society can play a decisive role in nation-building. Referring to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s guiding mantra — “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas aur Sabka Prayas” — he stated that the State Government has been working for the welfare of all sections of society for the past twenty-three months, following these core principles.

He stated that in the past months, the State Government has taken several significant steps, including the Krishak Unnati Yojana for farmers, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to provide houses for every family, the Mahtari Vandan Yojana for the economic security of the state's women, and teacher rationalisation to ensure the availability of teachers in remote regions.

Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that more than 10,000 youths have already received appointment letters across various departments. He added that the examinations conducted by the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission have been held with complete fairness, which has instilled genuine confidence in the youth. He also stated that, in view of the current scenario, the State Government has implemented a new industrial policy to provide greater opportunities, employment, and self-employment for local people.

The Chief Minister urged community members to take full advantage of government schemes and bring about positive changes in their lives.

The programme was also addressed by the Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Leather Craftsmen Development Board, Shri Dhruv Kumar Mirdha, who congratulated the newly elected office-bearers.

Our government will ensure to adopt this advanced irrigation system across Chhattisgarh as well: CM Shri Sai

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai reviewed a detailed presentation on the latest irrigation technology, PIN (Pressure Irrigation Network), presented by Shri Rajesh Rajora, Additional Chief Secretary of the Water Resources Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, in Bhopal on December 7. He shared that compared to traditional irrigation methods, this system is far more efficient, modern and aligned with water conservation principles.

During the presentation, ACS Shri Rajora stated that while conventional canal-based irrigation offers only around 35 per cent efficiency, the Pressure Irrigation Network System raises efficiency to nearly 65 per cent. Water is supplied through pressure-based pipelines, which reduce leakage and wastage, resulting in significant savings on electricity. He further noted that this system requires minimal land acquisition, enabling the timely and cost-effective completion of projects.

It was highlighted that in Madhya Pradesh, irrigation is already being provided over 13 lakh hectares using this technology, with plans to expand it to 40 lakh hectares in the coming years. This model has improved water-use efficiency and significantly enhanced both farm productivity and irrigation convenience for farmers.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai appreciated the presentation and stated that this advanced irrigation technology aligns with current and future requirements of water management. He said, “We will ensure maximum utilisation of this technology in Chhattisgarh so that farmers receive better irrigation support with less water and achieve improved productivity. From the perspective of water conservation, energy saving and fast implementation, this system will prove extremely beneficial. Through this technology, irrigation benefits can be extended even without land acquisition.” The Chief Minister directed officials to study, test and implement the system in a phased manner.

It is noteworthy that in traditional canal-based irrigation, a significant portion of water is lost due to seepage, evaporation, and uncontrolled flow, thereby restricting the actual supply to fields and resulting in uneven irrigation across the command area. Typically, the overall efficiency of the traditional system is approximately 35 % In contrast, the PIN (Pressure Irrigation Network) system delivers water directly to fields through pipelines under controlled pressure, resulting in nearly zero wastage. This raises irrigation efficiency to more than 65 per cent, which is crucial for both water conservation and increased crop output.

Since irrigation in the PIN system is entirely pipeline-based, the need for canal construction is significantly reduced, and land acquisition remains minimal. This lowers project costs and ensures timely execution. Compared to traditional methods, pumping efficiency is higher, resulting in significant electricity savings. With uniform pressure-based water delivery, even tail-end fields receive adequate water. The system yields higher crop productivity, improved water management, and increased farm income.
