On the occasion of the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi ji, which falls on August 20, Chief Minister Mr.Bhupesh Baghel will virtually release an amount of Rs.1750 crore 24 lakh to the farmers, livestock villagers, Gauthan committees and women self-help groups. This amount will be given under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana and Godhan Nyay Yojana of the Chhattisgarh government. During the program that will be organized at the Chief Minister's residence office, he will interact virtually with the people's representatives of the state, farmers, cow herders and women of SHGs.

Under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, an amount of Rs.1745 crore will be transferred to 26 lakh 21 thousand farmers of the state as the second instalment of this year's input subsidy on August 20. Earlier on May 21, 2022, Rs.1745 was paid to the farmers of the state as the first instalment of this scheme. Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana Chhattisgarh has been started in Kharif year 2019. Under this scheme, an input subsidy of Rs.12 thousand 920 crores has been released to the farmers so far. After the payment of the second instalment on August 20, this amount will reach Rs.14 thousand 665 crores. It is noteworthy that in Kharif 2019, an input subsidy of Rs.5627 crore has been released to 18.43 lakh farmers in 4 instalments, and Rs.5553 crore has been released to 20.59 lakh farmers in Kharif year 2020. Under this scheme, an input subsidy is provided to the farmers to promote crop productivity and crop diversification in the state and also to reduce the cost of cultivation.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will release an amount of Rs.5 crores 24 lakh to the livestock farmers, Gauthan committees and women SHGs under the Godhan Nyay Yojana on August 20. In the last two years, an amount of Rs.330 crore has been paid to cow dung vendors, Gauthan committees and women's groups under the Godhan Nyay Yojana. After the payment of the 50th instalment of Rs 5.24 crore under this scheme on August 20, this amount will reach Rs. 335 crores 24 lakh. Under Godhan Nyay Yojna, the purchase of cow dung at the rate of Rs.2 per kg in Gauthans is being started on July 20, 2020, from the ‘Hareli’ festival. Till August 15, 2022, 79.12 lakh quintals of cow dung have been purchased in Gauthans. 8408 Gauthans are operating in the state, where more than 2 lakh 52 thousand livestock farmers including more than 1 lakh 43 thousand landless farmers are directly selling cow dung.

Godhan Nyay Yojana is the only scheme in the country and the world, under which cow dung at the rate of Rs.2 per kg and cow urine at the rate of Rs.4 per litre is procured in the Gauthans of Chhattisgarh state. An amount of Rs.155.6 crore has also been paid to villagers for selling cow dung till July 31 in Gauthans. After the payment of Rs.2.64 crore to cow dung vendors on August 20, this figure will reach Rs.158.24 crore. An amount of Rs.151.60 crore has been paid so far to Gauthan committees and women self-help groups. After payment of Rs.2.60 crore to Gauthan committees and self-help groups on August 20, this figure will reach Rs.154.02 crore.

In Gauthans, vermicompost, super-compost, super-compost plus and other products are being produced on a large scale from cow dung purchased under Godhan Nyay Yojana by women groups. 17.27 lakh quintals of vermicompost, more than 5.21 lakh quintals of super compost and 18,924 quintals of super compost plus manure have been produced by women's groups, which are being supplied through societies to various departments of the government and farmers at concessional rates. Apart from producing manure from cow dung, women's groups are earning profit by manufacturing and selling gau-casts, lamps, incense sticks, idols and other materials. Apart from this, various income-oriented activities are being conducted by women groups in Gauthans, besides vegetable and mushroom cultivation, poultry, goat, and fish farming, through which women groups have earned an income of Rs.78.62 crore so far. There are 13,969 SHGs directly associated with Gauthans in the state, with a member of 83,874. Electricity generation has been started in Gauthans from purchased cow dung.

It is noteworthy that the production of natural paint from cow dung has also started in Hirapur-Jarwai Gauthan of Raipur. Fulling the determination of Chief Minister Mr.Bhupesh Baghel, Gauthans are being developed as Rural Industrial Parks. In order to promote income-oriented activities, agricultural and forest produce based processing units, units for manufacturing natural paint from cow dung are being established. The work for setting up mini rice mills and other types of units including Oil mills in 227 Gauthans and Pulse Mills in 292 Gauthans is in progress.

For the protection and conservation of cows in the state, construction of Gauthans is being done at a rapid pace in the villages. There is better management of livestock, treatment and free fodder and water in Gauthans. So far, approval has been given for the construction of Gauthans in 10,624 villages in the State, out of which 8408 Gauthans have been constructed and 1758 Gauthans are under construction. So far, the self-supporting Gauthans have purchased cow dung worth Rs 17.82 crore from their own funds. More than 2 lakh 52 thousand rural populace, livestock farmers are getting benefited from Godhan Nyay Yojana. Among those who earn extra income by selling cow dung, 46.05 per cent number is of women. More than 1 lakh 43 thousand landless families are getting benefited from this scheme.

 *An eco-friendly initiative by the state government to increase the green cover of the state*

*Life-useful trees and trees of cultural medicinal and ayurvedic significance will be planted in 162 selected spots across the state*

In an environmental friendly initiative to increase the green cover of the state, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will commence the 'Krishn Kunj' plantation drive on the auspicious day of Janmashtmi.  Trees of cultural and medicinal significance will be planted in selected spots across the state. A Krishna-Kunj is also being developed at Telibandha in the capital Raipur and Chief Minister Mr. Baghel will commence the plantation drive from this 'Krishn Kunj' on 19th August. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel   said that, "the initiative has been named 'Krishna-Kunj'  so that people understand the god-like and divine values of life-giving trees, he further said that this initiative will also help increase the number of trees of cultural significance and help preserve such unique trees"

 Several varieties of trees that hold special importance mentioned in our culture and ayurveda like Banyan, Peepal, Kadamba, mangoes, tamarind, plum, Ganga tamarind, Jamun, Ganga ber, Mulberry, Tendu, Chironji, Pomegranate, Kaitha, Neem, Gular, Palas, Guava, Plantation of Sitaphal, Bel, Amla will be planted through this initiative. It is noteworthy that trees like Peepal,Banyan and Neem have high capacity of releasing oxygen,they also grow at a rapid pace and have a long life so, this initiative can also contribute towards curtailing global warming to an extent.

The Chief Minister has directed all the collectors to allot at least one acre of land to the Forest Department for developing 'Krishna-Kunj'. So far 162 places in the state have been identified for 'Krishna Kunj'. Preparations for plantation are also being done with great enthusiasm. From this Krishna Janmashtami, planting of trees will be started in the entire state at dedicated sites.

Due to the indiscriminate felling of trees due to rapid urbanisation in the last few years, the existence of these trees is endangered. The initiative of 'Krishna-Kunj' is being taken up to impart awareness about the importance of trees   to our the coming generations.

Numerous sites have been selected for Krishna-Kunj which include;10 urban bodies of Raipur district Kurra, Kharora, Birgaon, Attari, Telibandha, Arang, Chandkhuri, Kurud Samoda, Urla. Plantation of plants will be done on Janmashtami in a  total of 162 selected sites including 3 sites in Mahasamund of Gariaband district, 2 from Gourela Pendra district, 7 from Koriya district, 3 from Kondagaon district, 4 from Dantewada district, 1-1 from Bijapur district, Sukma and Narayanpur.Full of cultural diversity, every festival of Chhattisgarh is associated with nature and primitive culture. To value and conserve our primitive culture and nature, an exemplary initiative is being taken to save these trees of cultural importance through  'Krishna-Kunj'

Swami Atmanand Schools opened by the Chhattisgarh Government helped the state’s children to obtain a world-class education. However, parents in the state are still doubtful about securing admission for their children to decent-quality colleges with affordable fee structures. As a result, most students are forced to leave their homes in the quest for better higher education outside the state. The parents are also compelled to pay a huge amount as tuition fees to these colleges located in big cities. To remedy this problem, the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has come up with an announcement to open English Medium Colleges in Chhattisgarh. These colleges will be called Swami Atmanand English Medium Adarsh Colleges and will provide superior-quality English medium college education to the youth of the state. 

The Chief Minister has said that these colleges will be established in a phased-out manner. It has been proposed that in the first phase, about 10 English medium colleges will be opened in the major cities of the state for the forthcoming academic session in June 2023. Moreover, a working plan to open English medium colleges in all the district headquarters within the upcoming 3 years is expected to be developed in the next ten days. With this, the Bhupesh Baghel – led Government has claimed to produce the nation’s best educational model in the future.

 New Delhi : Billionaire industrialist and Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani has been accorded a 'Z' category VIP security cover of CRPF commandos by the central government, official sources said Wednesday.

They said the all-India cover will be on a "payment basis" and is expected to cost about Rs 15-20 lakh per month.

The security cover under the central list was accorded to Adani, 60, on the basis of a threat perception report prepared by central security agencies, they said.

The Union Home Ministry has asked the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) VIP security wing to take over the job and its squad is now with the protectee, they said.

RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani was given a 'Z+' category cover of CRPF commandos by the Union government in 2013, followed by a lower category cover to his wife Neeta Ambani some years later.

 Thiruvananthapuram: (PTI) Emphasising the significance of its forthcoming "Bharat Jodo Yatra', the Congress on Tuesday said the country "badly needed" such a programme as destructive forces were very active now-a-days and were "patronised" by the BJP-led government at the Centre.

As India is passing through a crucial time when divisive and communal forces are active with a mission to divide it on religious basis, the party, which had fought against the British and was responsible for the independence of the nation, cannot sit idle or remain a mute spectator. Addressing the party workers and leaders at Indira Bhavan, the party headquarters here, Tariq Anwar, the AICC general secretary in-charge of Kerala, said it had been decided during the recent Udaypur 'Chintan Shivir' that the party should organise a big programme to connect with the people and strongly oppose the ideology of divisive forces, floated by the ruling BJP and RSS.

As India is a peculiar nation with people of different castes, religions and communities living together, this type of "divisive politics" or "conspiracy" would weaken the country, he said.

"So, we think, Bharat Jodo is the need of the hour.. it is badly needed. Because destructive forces are very much active now-a-days. And, we are sorry to say that these forces are actually patronised by our union government," Anwar said. So, the Congress has decided to come forward and convince the entire country by conducting a padayatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.

He was speaking after inaugurating the coordination committee office under the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) in connection with the Yatra in the state.

"Rahul Gandhi will lead the yatra.. He decided to walk across the entire country and reach out to the people and convince them that this is not the right path of the country," the leader said. The Congress, earlier this month, had announced that it would launch from September 7 Kanyakumari to Kashmir 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' in which party workers and leaders including Rahul Gandhi will participate.

The padayatra (foot march) covering 12 states and two Union Territories will be about 3,500-km long and will be completed in about 150 days.

The party also appealed to all those wanting to be part of a gigantic national endeavour to provide an alternative to the 'politics of fear, bigotry and prejudice' and to the economics of livelihood destruction, increasing unemployment and growing inequalities, to participate in the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra.
