Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today attended the grand event of 'Kanwar Yatra' at Maruti Mangalam Complex, Gudhiyari, Raipur. At the onset, Chief Minister performed Kanwar Puja with mantras and rituals, and led the procession of devotees joining Kanwar Yatra. Before leading the procession, Chief Minister performed customary rituals at Machchi Talab Hanuman Temple and prayed for happiness and prosperity of the people of the state. Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Vikas Upadhyay was also present on the occasion. Hundreds of female and male devotees thronged to the tune of hymns at Kanwar Yatra. This procession of Kanwar Yatra concluded at Raipur Mahadev Ghat Hatkeshwar Temple.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today reviewed the implementation of Forest Rights Act, 2006 in the state. He directed the officials concerned to prepare an effective action plan for the management of forestland distributed under Community Forest Rights and Community Forest Resource Rights. Officials have been directed to run a special drive to redress the claims of community forest resource rights, and to organize Gram Sabha Awareness Campaign for this purpose. Forest and Climate Change Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, Advisors to Chief Minister Mr. Rajesh Tiwari and Mr. Pradeep Sharma, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain and Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Subrat Sahu also attended the meeting held at Chief Minister's residence office.Secretary, Tribal and Scheduled Castes Development Department, Mr. D.D. Singh told in the review meeting that so far, four lakh 54 thousand 415 individual forest rights letters, 45 thousand 847 community forest rights letters and 3731 community forest resource rights letters have been distributed in the forest areas of the state, thereby allotting more than three lakh 70 thousand hectares, one lakh 98 thousand hectares and 15 lakh 32 thousand hectares respectively to the forest dwellers. He informed that so far, three lakh 81 thousand 667 individual forest rights letters, 36 thousand 674 community forest rights letters and 2965 community forest resource rights letters have been registered in the records of revenue and forest departments. About five lakh 15 thousand hectare area that has been distributed through one lakh 83 thousand 604 individual forest rights letters have also been uploaded on Bhuiya portal.

It was informed in the meeting that under the Forest Rights Act, 23 thousand 643 beneficiaries of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (Special Protected Tribes) have been given individual forest rights letters. People belonging to these tribes have also been provided 1758 Community Forest Rights letters and 106 Community Forest Resources Right Letters. Under the Act, 17 thousand 209 widow, unmarried and divorced tribal women across the state have also been awarded individual forest rights letters. Officials said that in order to remove the errors in the Forest Rights Letters and to bring uniformity in all the districts, the draft of the Model Forest Rights Letter has been issued to all the districts. In the review meeting, Principal Secretary, Forest and Climate Change Department, Mr. Manoj Pingua, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Mr. Rakesh Chaturvedi, Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development Mr. Prasanna R., Secretary of Revenue Department Mr. Neelam Namdev Ekka and Commissioner of Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department, Mrs. Shammi Abidi was also present.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has remembered the former minister and popular leader Late Mr. Mahendra Karma on his birth anniversary on 5th August. Remembering his contributions towards the state , Mr. Baghel said that Mr. Mahendra Karma was known as Bastar Tiger, because he used to speak vigorously for tribal rights and used to stand with tribals in every situation. Late Mr. Karma fought for the betterment of tribals till the last moment of his life. He was not just a politician, but also a very sensitive, aware and passionate person. Mr. Baghel further said "It was my privilege to have found such a selfless person and a transparent friend like him. Chhattisgarh will not forget his martyrdom in the Jhiram Ghati Naxal attack."

Mr. Baghel said that Mr. Karma took important responsibilities as a Leader of Opposition and Minister in Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly and made his invaluable contribution towards the development of Chhattisgarh. In order to make the memories of Mr. Mahendra Karma lasting, the State Government has named Bastar University after him and a social security scheme namely 'Shaheed Mahendra Karma Tendu Patta Sangrahak samajik Yojna' has been started for the tendu patta collecting families of the state in his name. Mr. Baghel said that Mr. Karma's thoughts and values of life will always inspire us.

The Har Ghar Jhanda Campaign is being organized to make the Amrit Mahotsav of India’s independence memorable. This year on Independence Day, Tricolors made by the women in Chhattisgarh’s women's self-help groups will be hoisted under the Har Ghar Jhanda campaign. To make this campaign a success, the women belonging to the state’s self-help groups are making the tricolors while keeping the spirit of national service alive, and are also becoming economically empowered. Women of the Parvati Self-help Group in the Dantewada district are preparing tricolors. These women view the work of making tricolors not as a mere task but as a service to the nation.

Mrs. Yamini Sahu of the women's self-help group in Mahasamund district’s Komakhan said that she has just received an order to make 1500 flags, and more orders are expected. She added while expressing her happiness that she is proud of the fact that the flags made by the women in her group will be hoisted in the homes and Government offices of the district. While the work of making flags is awakening the spirit of patriotism, on one hand, it is also providing employment to women on the other. The responsibility to make the national flags has been given to women's self-help groups.

Honouring the sentiments of the localites, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has given instructions to change the names of three places in the state. As per the instructions of Chief Minister, Chandkhuri, Giraudpuri and Sonakhan will now be renamed after the great personas and spiritual figures of the area. Chandkhuri will be known as Mata Kaushalya Dham Chandkhuri, Giraudpuri will be renamed as Baba Guru Ghasidas Dham Giraudpuri and Sonakhan will be called Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Dham Sonakhan. Many public representatives and localites have been demanding change of these names in aforementioned way for a long time. State Government would soon publish notification regarding renaming of these three places in gazette.

Today, Parliamentary Secretaries Mr. Chandradev Rai, Mr. Gurudayal Singh Banjare, Mr. Indershah Mandavi, Mr. U.D. Minj and MLAs Mr. Brihaspat Singh, Mr. Gulab Singh Kamro and Dr. Vinay Jaiswal had submitted their letter in this regard to Chief Minister, urging him to change the names of Giraudpuri and Sonakhan according to the public sentiments. Rajeshri Dr. Mahant Ramsunder Das, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Gauseva Aayog, had also written a letter to the Chief Minister on July 28 i.e. on the day of Hareli Tihaar, requesting to rename Chandkhuri as Mata Kaushalyadham Chandkhuri. Taking a quick decision on these demands, Chief Minister has given instructions for new naming of these places.

The only Kaushalya temple in the world is situated in Chandkhuri, adjacent to Raipur. There Lord Shri Ram is seated in his child form along with Mata Kaushalya. Chhattisgarh is considered to be the birthplace of Mata Kaushalya and 'nanihaal' of Shri Ram. The state government has renovated the Mata Kaushalya temple, located in the middle of the pond, and has also beautified the pond. This renovation of Chandkhuri, the center of reverence for lakhs of people of the country and the state, was renovated under the project of Shri Ram Van Gaman tourism circuit. A giant statue of Lord Shri Ram has also been established here near the pond.

Located in Balodabazar-Bhatapara district, Giroudpuri is the center of faith for lakhs of followers of Satnam Panth. This is the birthplace and tapobhoomi of Baba Guru Ghasidas. For a long time, Satnami Samaj and the localites here have been demanding to rename Giroudpuri as Baba Guru Ghasidas Dham Giroudpuri. Chief Minister has fulfilled this much awaited demand today.

Sonakhan area in Balodabazar-Bhatapara district is known for the valour of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh, the first martyr of Chhattisgarh in the first freedom struggle of 1857. After his arrest by the British, he was hanged on 10 December 1857 at Jaistambh Chowk in Raipur. To honour the struggle and sacrifices of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh for the poor and oppressed, local public representatives had been demanding addition of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh’s name to the name of Sonakhan area for a long time. Now, with the renaming of the area as per public sentiments, the valor and sacrifices of Shaheed Veernarayan Singh of Binjhwar tribe will always be remembered.

Chief Justice of India,Mr. N. V. Ramana said in Raipur today that the Chhattisgarh government is taking care of every aspect of the budget and infrastructure related requirements of the judicial community. He expressed hope that this trend would continue and Chhattisgarh would emerge as a leading state in providing best infrastructure to the Judiciary. Chief Justice Mr. N. V. Ramana congratulated the Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for actively cooperating in the development of legal education in Chhattisgarh. He congratulated the Chief Minister for the efforts being made by him to provide good governance to the people of Chhattisgarh.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the country, Justice Mr. NV Ramana, attended the fifth convocation of Hidayatullah National Law University as the chief guest in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. Addressing the students present in the convocation, he said "all of you should have a vision and to achieve it with utmost enthusiasm and passion". He further said "that all of you are precious to this country and we all need to take the talented minds in the right direction."

Complimenting the Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur, CJI Mr. NV Ramana said that it has been named after a great jurist who devoted his entire life to the cause of law. While congratulating the students at the convocation, he said that knowledge and information are the biggest assets and we can only grow by using them properly.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel attended the convocation ceremony as a special guest. While releasing the sixth edition of Journal Law and Social Science of Hidayatullah National Law University, Mr. baghel distributed degrees to the gold medalist students and wished them good luck for their bright future.

On the occasion of the fifth convocation of Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur, two scholars were conferred the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. Apart from this, a total of 23 students were awarded with 66 gold medals. Ankit Pal of the year 2020 batch was awarded 6 gold medals and Pallavi Mishra of the year 2021 batch was the overall topper with 11 gold medals.

The convocation was presided over by the Hon'ble Supreme Court Justice Shri S Abdul Nazeer. Justice BV Nagarathna of the Supreme Court was also present at the convocation. The Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court and Chancellor of Hidayatullah National Law University Shri Arup Kumar Goswami and Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court Shri Prashant Mishra were also present on the occasion. Chhattisgarh Law Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar and Tribal Welfare Department Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam were also present in the convocation ceremony.

"Ever since our government was formed, expeditious work has been done for the economic empowerment of every section of the society, whether it is a farmer or a laborer or a fiaherman. Numerous works have been done for the betterment of the fishermen class. We have created Fisheries policy which is very conducive for people involved in fish farming and continous works are being done for the betterment of the ecosystem of fisheries. We have given agriculture status to fisheries, due to which now fishermen are availing zero percent loan facility. Conditions of the fishermen of the state has improved as they have started getting similar facilities like farmers. With this, the standard of living for fishermen is improving day by day, fishermen of the state are moving towards economic growth rapidly, and will contribute towards a better future for fisheries in India." Said Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel while addressing the Mahasammelan of Dhivar Samaj organized in the auditorium of the Agricultural University.

After the completion of the land allotment process to the fishermen community, he also talked about helping them build a well-equipped building for the society. The Chief Minister also administered the oath for the newly elected office bearers of the fishermen society.

The Chief Minister said that the average fish productivity of our state has reached 4000 metric tonnes per hectare. Progressive fish farmers have started producing 8000 to 10,000 metric tonnes per hectare by rearing improved species. State government run fisheries policies and the nature and environment of Chhattisgarh is completely conducive for fish farming. He further said that a favourable environment for fisheries is available in the state due to the geographical position and fisheries policies of our state, so there is a lot of potential for fisheries business. Moreover, Continous effort is being made by the government to increase fish production.

Along with villages, big dams are also being used for fish farming. Even in the courtyard of a house, people are indulging in fish farming by making a tank. He said that a provision has been made to provide 40 percent grant-in-aid to fish farmers on a unit of Rs 7.50 lakh to promote fisheries with bio-floc technology. The Chief Minister said that the schemes made by the government for the fishermen community should be prepared and distributed to the members of the society by making pamphlets and giving information about it in social meetings.

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that for fish farming in the state, irrigation dams and reservoirs for water supply through canals were required in an area of 30,000 hectares, for which the fish farmers had to pay a fee of Rs. 4 per 10000 feet . But now there is no need for them to pay a single penny. Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey said that since the formation of our government, it has been the intention of the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel that the traditional fishermen society should be given priority over the fishery pond sources of the villages. Continuous work is being done by the government to protect their interests. Mr. Choubey said that some issues have been raised by the fishermen society, work will be done to resolve their issues accordingly. If any pond in a village is marked in the name of Nistari and if it is allotted to any other class and given for fisheries, then in such a situation necessary action will be taken by identifying the Panch, Sarpach of the concerned Gram Panchayat. He also assured the fishermen to rectify the confusion regarding the definition in the fisheries policy.

He has directed the Collector to provide better treatment facilities to the six workers injured in the incident. Mr. Baghel has given instructions to sanction financial aid of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased workers, as per the provisions of RBC 6-4. It is noteworthy that Kumari Janaki, Kumari Laxmi Yadav, Shrimati Basanti Nag, Shrimati Jamovati, Shrimati Noharmati passed away in the lightning incident that occured in village Ghatkachar under Thana Singhoda of Mahasamund district. In this incident, Shrimati Pankajni Yadav, Shrimati Parvati Malik, Shrimati Tapaswani, Shrimati Punni, Shrimati Geetanjali, Shrimati Shashi got injured. These injured victims are undergoing treatment at Saraipali health centre.

Today, on the occasion of Hareli Tihaar', Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel flagged off Mukhyamantri Mahtari Nyay Rath from his Raipur based residence, and conveyed his best wishes for the success of the initiative. The program was commenced with the State Song of Chhattisgarh. Rath Yatra was flagged off with the slogan of "Baat He Abhimaan Ke, Mahila Man Ke Samman Ke". Chhattisgarh State Commission for Women has taken this initiative of Nyay Rath Yatra with the aim of making women of the state aware of their constitutional rights and laws.

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel also administered the oath of ensuring security, justice and empowerment of women. On this occasion, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Anila Bhendia, Industries Minister Mr. Kawasi Lakhma, Food Minister Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat, Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, Chairperson of Chhattisgarh State Women Commission Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak, Gauseva Commission Chairman Mahant Shri Ram Sundar Das, MLA Mr. Satyanarayan Sharma, Chairman of State Food Supply Corporation Mr. Ram Gopal Agrawal and a large number of people were present.

Under this initiative of Chhattisgarh Women Commission for women empowerment, Mukhyamantri Mahtari Nyay Rath Yatra will go from village to village in all the districts to create mass awareness about the legal provisions and constitutional rights of women. The Information regarding women's right and concerning laws will be spread through short films, messages and brochures. In the first phase, the Rath will cover nine districts of the state, starting from Durg. Through this Rath Yatra, women will also be provided free legal aid. Each Mahatari Nyay Rath will have two advocates, who will listen to the grievances of women and counsel them. Women will also be able to submit their applications to State Women Commission through Nyay Rath. National award-winning short films in Chhattisgarhi and Hindi, based on various laws, will be screened on large LED screens during the Rath Yatra. State government has made special changes in the DMF policy, to operate Mahtari Nyay Rath under DMF.

Chairperson of Chhattisgarh Women Commission Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak said that it is very important for all the women, educated-uneducated, housewives-working, to be aware of the functions of the Women's Commission, to be informed about the laws and rules, and to have the knowledge of their rights. And with an aim to make women of the state aware and informed in the context, Chhattisgarh Women Commission has started Mahtari Nyay Rath Yatra from the day of Hareli Tihar. With the help of Mahatari Nyay Rath, women will be informed about the process of applying to the Commission for redressal of their problems and for free legal aid. Women Commission has already issued WhatsApp number 9098382225, on which women can register their complaints with the Commission.

Dr. Nayak said that in the last three and a half years, state government has implemented many schemes to empower the mothers and sisters of Chhattisgarh socially, economically and politically. The success of these schemes has become an example for the entire country. Now, moving a step further, Chhattisgarh Government has come up with another one-of-its-kind scheme to boost confidence of women by making them aware of their legal rights. This scheme will play an important role in controlling the crimes against women in the state.

Nine districts of the state to be covered in the first phase of Rath Yatra

Mukhyamantri Mahtari Nyay Rath will initially tour nine districts of the state that receive the Mineral Trust fund, i.e. Durg, Raipur, Rajnandgaon, Balodabazar-Bhatapara, Mahasamund, Janjgir-Champa, Gariaband, Dhamtari, Kanker. Later, Nyay Rath Yatra will cover remaining districts of the state.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr.Bhupesh Baghel, the Chhattisgarh government is working on the adoption of technological-driven farming, which has opened the doors of opportunities for new possibilities in the field of agriculture development. Today, he launched the ‘Complete Agriculture Drone Solution’ in a program organized on the occasion of ‘Hareli Tihar’ in Karsa village of Patan block in Durg district.

The medicine can be sprayed within half an hour on 4 acres of fields using agriculture drones. The amount of medicine that is needed can also be determined through the machine. Usually, a farmer takes 3 hours for spraying medicine on 1 acre of land. There is also a problem of availability of labour for spraying in rural areas. Using this method, the farmers can save time and can also increase their income. Agri Ambulance will provide the facility of Agriculture Lab which will be able to do site testing.

The people associated with the project told him that drone technology would add many facilities for the development of farming. It is noteworthy that the project will work on the PPP model. Only one machine can be used for 20 villages and this can be used by any working group. Only the youth of the group will be trained to operate the drone. He praised this innovation and said that the techniques of farming that we have learned from our ancestors and adding modern techniques to it, we can reach new heights in farming. He instructed to continue such innovations to promote technology-driven farming. Agri Ambulance will also work to provide organic manure. The Chief Minister said that the members of the group would become technically proficient and they can use the remaining time for livelihood activities other than farming. He also interacted with Kanchan Srivastava, Harshit Hundit, and Vinay Srivastava associated with the project. Advisor to Chief Minister Mr.Pradeep Sharma was also present on the occasion.

‘Hareli Tihar’—the first festival of Chhattisgarh—was celebrated with great pomp and show at the residence of Chief Minister here on Thursday. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, along with his spouse Smt. Mukteshwari Baghel and other relatives, worshiped the rural deities, Tulsi Mata, ‘Nangar’ (plough), agricultural equipments, ‘Gedi’ and ‘Gaumata’ and prayed for a good harvest. He extended his warm greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of ‘Hareli’. Chief Minister’s residence was decked up in a rural setting depicting vibrant culture of Chhattisgarh. The attendees enjoyed Chhattisgarhi folk music and dance, traditional ‘Gadwa Baja’, ‘Raut Nacha’, Gedi dance, folk games, ‘raichuli’ and traditional delicacies.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel encouraged the folk dance artists by performing Gedi dance with them. The Chief Minister also tried his hand at a game of ‘Bhaura’ (spinning top). A New Initiative of State Women’s Commission to create Legal Awareness among Women

With an aim to make women of the state aware of their constitutional rights and laws, Chhattisgarh Women Commission has taken an initiative to organize 'Mukhyamantri Mahtari Nyay Rath Yatra'. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel will flag off the 'Mukhyamantri Mahtari Nyay Rath' on the day of Hareli Tihaar. This Rath (chariot) will travel in all the districts and make people aware about the legal provisions of women and their constitutional rights, through short films, messages and brochures.

Mukhyamantri Mahtari Nyay Rath Yatra will be conducted by State Women Commission. Each Mahatari Nyay Rath will have two advocates present, who will listen to the grievances of women and provide them information and advice. Women will also be able to submit their applications for resolution of their grievances to Women's Commission, through Nyay Rath. There will be a large LED screen, on which nationally-awarded educational short films in Chhattisgarhi and Hindi will be shown. The state government has made special changes in the DMF policy for Mahtari Nyay Rath. The DMF amount received by the district will be used for the operation of Nyay Rath.

Chairperson of State Women's Commission Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak said that it is important for every women, educated or uneducated, housewives or working, to be aware of the functions of Women's Commission, be informed about the relevant laws and rules, and to be educated about their legal rights. And with an aim to spread legal awareness among women, Mukhyamantri Mahtari Nyay Rath is being commenced on the occasion of Hareli Tihaar. Through these Mahatari Nyay Raths, women will be informed about the process of applying to Women's Commission for resolution of their grievances. Women will also be provided legal advice and counselling for their situation. At first, this Rath will cover the nine districts that are receiving Mineral Trust Fund. Later, it would tour the remaining districts of the state.

Religious fervor fills the air as the state prep-up to celebrate ‘Hareli Tihar’ with great pomp and show

The present state government in Chhattisgarh led by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has undertaken an initiative to celebrate state’s popular festivals like ‘Hareli’, ‘Teeja-Pora’, and ‘Chher-Chhera’ on a grand scale. For the last 3.5 years, these festivals are being celebrated with much fanfare in a bid to connect people with the rich tradition and culture of Chhattisgarh. In a first, the state government has declared a public holiday on this festival so that people can join the celebrations.

Hareli, which is considered to be the first festival of Chhattisgarh marks the beginning of Shravan month. This traditional farm festival has a special significance for the farmers, who celebrate the festival with great pomp and show worshipping their farm equipment and cow. As Chhattisgarh gears up for the celebrations of the state’s indigenous festival ‘Hareli Tihar’, the state government has made elaborate arrangements to celebrate the festival on a grand scale just like past three years.

“Chhattisgarh is a state with rich culture, tradition and customs which are unique. It is the need of hour to raise cultural awareness of local traditions in youth by celebrating our state's festivals with great zeal and enthusiasm. We must feel proud about our state’s cultural legacy and celebrate ‘Hareli’ with great fervor”, said Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.

Procurement of ‘gau-mutra’ to begin from ‘Hareli’ this year

On this auspicious occasion, the state government is all set to expand the scope of one of its flagship schemes—Godhan Nyay Yojana and begin procurement of ‘gau-mutra’ (cow urine) in the state. The move aims to promote organic farming and boost income of cattle rearers and women groups, thereby strengthening the rural economy of state. The procured cow urine will be used to prepare ‘Jeevamrit’ (organic liquid fertilizer) and pest control products by local women Self-Help Groups. Meanwhile, chief minister has launched Godhan Nyay Yojana in the year 2020 on the occasion of Hareli, which has become exemplary for other states due to its success in just 2 years.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will launch this initiative from village Karsa in Patan block of Durg district on July 28. Besides, the latest agricultural equipment will also be launched at the agricultural conference to be organized here. One such piece of equipment includes a drone through which the appropriate amount of fertilizer and insecticide can be sprayed in a very short span of time.

Festive atmosphere pervades Gauthans ahead of ‘Hareli’ celebrations

A festive atmosphere pervaded Gauthans across the state as they prep up for Hareli festival celebrations. Various programmes including traditional game competitions, special health checkup and vaccination camps for cattle and discussions on important topics will be organized here. Besides, the attendees will also get to enjoy Chhattisgarhi delicacies as a part of the celebrations.

Citizens will enjoy playing traditional ‘Chhattisgarhi’ games

As a part of ‘Hareli’ celebrations competitions on traditional games including Gedi Race, spinning top, ‘Pitthu’, ‘Kancha’, ‘Goli-Chammach’, Kho-kho, tug of war, ‘Tigga Goti’ and ‘Gilli Danda’ will be organized across the state. One of the major attractions of this festival is the ‘Gedi’ race which is enjoyed by people of all ages, most prominently in rural areas. These games are played all day long after the completion of all ‘puja’ rituals. Taking a step ahead to promote this popular folk game in schools, the state government has directed to organize Gedi dance competitions in all government and aided schools across the state on Hareli.

On this auspicious occasion, special festivities will be organized at CM House in capital city Raipur, wherein a large number of common people will join the Hareli celebration. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel will perform the customary ritual and woship the agricultural equipment. Preparations for this grand celebration of Hareli festival have started in full swing at the Raipur-based residence of Chief Minister. On this occasion, folk dances such as Sua, Karma, Dadriya and Gedi will be presented by Chhattisgarhi folk artists and Hareli songs will be sung as well. Procurement of Gaumutra to be commenced

Livestock owners in rural areas will now be able to sell cow urine at the rate of Rs 4 per liter. This expansion of Godhan Nyay Yojana would provide a major financial boost to the cow breeders and livestock owners of the state. Procurement of Gaumutra along with dung under Godhan Nyay Yojana would further enhance the work of livestock development in the state. Experts believe that farmers can double their income by coupling the agricultural practices with animal husbandry. Kisaan Sammelan will be organized in village Karsa on this occasion, and new agricultural equipment will be launched at this event. Besides Kisaan Sammelan, an agriculture exhibition will also be held on the occasion. Chief Minister will discuss various farming related topics with the farmers and will also felicitate them for their achievements. It is known that on July 20, 2020, i.e. on the occasion of Hareli festival two years ago, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel had launched nation’s one-of-a-kind Godhan Nyay Yojana in the state.

On the occasion of Hareli, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel will reach the place of worship in a bullock cart. Mr. Baghel will worship Gaumata and also the agricultural equipment and tools, as per the customary rituals. He will cut hay with the machine and feed it to the cows. It is a tradition practice to worship cows on the day of Hareli festival. It is noteworthy that last year as well, Chief Minister had left his residence in a bullock cart and celebrated the festival of Hareli in a spectacular way. His participation in Hareli festivities played an important role in creating awareness about the folk festivals of Chhattisgarh.

New agricultural equipment will be launched

The special attraction of the Kisan Sammelan to be held on the day of Hareli will be the launch of new agricultural equipment. These soon-to-be launched equipment include a drone sprinkler that can spray an appropriate amount of fertilizer and insecticide in a short duration. Besides, many other state-of-the-art equipment useful for agriculture will also be put on display. Many experts will mark their presence at this Kisaan Sammelan to educate the farmers on modern farming methods and new techniques in farming.

Local Games of Chhattisgarh will be an important part of Hareli celebrations

Hareli is not only an agricultural festival but also an occasion of celebrating the local games and rituals of Chhattisgarh. On this day, both children and elderlies take part in the games and festivities. On the occasion, Gedi competition will be organized in village Karsa and the winners will of this competition will be felicitated. Traditional games such as Gedi Race, Bhaura, Pitthul, Kancha, Patang, Goli Chammach, Khokho, Rassa Kheench, Tigga Goti and Gilli Danda will also be organized on this occasion. Gedi competition will also be organized in various schools of the state.

Reason Behind the Procurement of Gaumutra

Chhattisgarh Government is continuously working to promote organic farming in the state. And to promote organic farmic, it is important that the practices of cattle breeding and animal husbandry are made profitable for the farmers. In the same sequence, cow-dung procurement under Godhan Nyay Yojana is being utilized for a large-scale production of organic manure in the state. And now, with the procurement of Gaumutra, farmers and cattle-rearers will have another source of additional income.

New Delhi, (PTI) President-elect Droupadi Murmu will take oath of office of the highest constitutional post of the country on Monday followed by a 21 gun salute.

The Union Home Ministry said the ceremony will be held at the central hall of Parliament at 10.15 AM on Monday where Chief Justice of India N V Ramana will administer the oath of the office of the President to her.

The President elect will take the oath of office followed by a 21 gun salute, the home ministry said.

The President will then deliver an address.

Before the ceremony, the outgoing President and the President-elect will arrive in Parliament in a ceremonial procession.

Vice-President and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Members of the Council of Ministers, Governors, Chief Ministers, heads of diplomatic missions, Members of Parliament and principal civil and military officers of the government will attend the ceremony.

On the conclusion of the ceremony in the central hall of the Parliament, the President will leave for Rashtrapati Bhavan where an inter-services guard of honour will be given to her in the forecourt and courtesies will be extended to the outgoing President.

Murmu, 64, scripted history on Thursday after defeating Opposition Presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha in an one-sided contest.

She would become India's first tribal President.

Murmu won the election by an overwhelming margin against Sinha after receiving over 64 per cent valid votes of MPs and MLAs, comprising the electoral college, to succeed Ram Nath Kovind to become the country's 15th president.

Murmu got 6,76,803 votes against Sinha's 3,80,177 votes.

She will be the first President to be born after independence and is the youngest to occupy the top post. She is also the second woman to become the President.

The 15th President of India, Draupadi Murmu, will take the oath of office on July 25 at Parliament House in New Delhi.

President elect Murmu:When Draupadi Murmu takes over as the 15th President of Indian republic on 25 July, she would be not only the first Dalit woman as the first citizen of the country but also would be the first President to be born in Independent India. She becomes the first woman from a scheduled tribe to serve as President of India and the second person from a scheduled tribe in the same office.

About Murmu’s personal life:

Murmu was born in a Santali tribal family on June 20, 1958, in Uparbeda village of Mayurbhanj district in Odisha, to Biranchi Narayan Tudu. Both Murmu’s father and grandfather were elected as Sarpanch under the Panchayati Raj system.

Draupadi Murmu married Banker Shyam Charan Murmu, who passed away in 2014. The couple had a daughter and two sons. In a period of four years, she lost her husband and two sons. Murmu has a history of spiritual ties to the Brahma Kumaris.

Murmu, who secured over 5.77 lakh votes in Presidential election was the NDA’s candidate. She will take oath for the office of the 15th President of India on July 25, a day after President Ramnath Kovid’s tenure ends.

Women Self-help Groups and Co-operative Committees will be given bonus for the sale of Vermicompost

The Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that the purchase of cow urine along with cow dung will commence from 28 July on the occasion of Hareli as an extension of the Godhan Nyay Scheme. A rate of Rs. 4 per litre has been proposed for the purchase of cow urine. The purchased cow urine will be utilized for the manufacture of Jeevamrit pesticides and manure. This will promote the practice of organic farming in the state and will also increase the earnings of cattle ranchers.

The Chief Minister on the occasion of the second anniversary of the Godhan Nyay Scheme transferred an amount of Rs. 7 Crore 48 lakh as the 48th installment to the accounts of the beneficiaries through online medium in his office located in the Vidhansabha premises. He expressed his views on this subject during the programme.

The Chief Minister, while addressing the programme, said that women self-help groups and co-operative committees will be given bonuses for the sale of Vermicompost. Orders have been issued in this regard. Women self-help groups will be given a bonus of Rs. 1 for the sale of one Kg. of Vermicompost while co-operative committees will be given a bonus of 10 paise for the sale of 1 kg. of Vermicompost. The Chief Minister said that women groups will be given Rs. 17 crore 64 lakh while co-operative committees will be given Rs. 1 Crore 76 lakh for the sale of Vermicompost till 7 July 2022 as an incentive amount.

The amount transferred by the Chief Minister to the accounts of the beneficiaries of the Godhan Nyay Scheme includes the amount of Rs. 2.69 Crore for the sale of cow dung from the cattle ranchers, villagers, landless farmers of the Gauthans of the state, and a dividend amount of Rs. 2.88 Crore to Gauthan Committees and Rs. 1.91 Crore to women self-help groups respectively. In exchange of the purchase of cow dung, a total of Rs. 153.44 Crore has been paid till now, including the amount paid today. In this way, under the scheme, an amount of Rs. 147.99 Crore have been paid to women self-help groups and Gauthan committees.

Congratulating all the beneficiaries of the scheme and the people of the state on the completion of two years of Godhan Nyay Yojana, the Chief Minister said the state government started procurement of cow dung from July 20, 2020 on the occasion of ‘Hareli’ festival. The success that this scheme has achieved in just 02 years is being appreciated all over the country. Following our footsteps, many states of the country have implemented similar schemes. In addition to production of vermi compost, work is also being done for production of electricity and manufacturing natural paint using the cow dung purchased under this scheme. Chief Minister said that Godhan Nyay Yojana has proven to be beneficial for promoting women’s economic empowerment and helping women associated with Self Help Groups become self-reliant. The cow dung vendors and Gauthan committees have also earned good income in these two years. Besides, it has given a major boost to draw interest of farmers towards animal husbandry. Nearly, 13 thousand 969 women self-help groups have earned an income of Rs 74 crore 68 lakh so far from various livelihood activities conducted in Gauthans. Under this scheme, processing units like oil mill and pulse mill are being set up in Gauthans. As many as 227 oil mills and 251 pulse mills are being set up in Gauthans of the state. Out of these, 86 oil mills and 134 pulse mills have already been established.

Addressing the programme, Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey said that today Godhan Nyay Yojana has completed its two years and its scope has also been expanded. Continuous monitoring of the scheme is being done. Villagers, cattle rearers, women self-help groups have got new means of income and employment through this scheme. A total of 8 thousand 408 Gauthans have been established under the scheme so far. More than 30 quintals of cow dung has been procured from 01 to 15 July in nearly 1456 Gauthans. Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. Kamal Preet Singh in his address gave detailed information about the progress of the scheme.

More than 24 lakh people are being treated free of cost under the Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme. The mobile medical units of the Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme reach the poor slum areas of the urban regions and provide people in need with free of cost treatment. Poor people often face difficulties in reaching hospitals due to various reasons, due to which they don’t receive proper treatment. But the Chief Minister understood the pain of the poor people. He devised a scheme so that doctors could reach the poor patients’ home for their treatment.

Under the Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme, more than 24 lakh people have been treated in the slum areas of the urban regions of Chhattisgarh. The mobile medical unit vehicles are roaming through the cities and treating people in urban slum areas. To provide doorstep medical services to people living in the poor slum areas of the urban regions of Chhattisgarh, the Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme, conducted by the Urban Administration and Development Department of the Chhattisgarh Government, has provided free of cost treatment to more than 24 lakh people. Under this scheme, people have been provided with free of cost health checkups, treatment and medicines by the mobile medical unit in the slum areas of 169 urban sectors by setting up 34,370 camps. The Urban Administration and Development Minister Mr. Shivkumar Deheriya, has instructed the departmental officers that poor people in need of medical help in slum areas of urban regions should be offered free of cost medicines and treatment.

The first phase of the Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme had started on 1 November 2020. Under this, 60 mobile medical units had started to visit slum areas and offer free of cost health checkups, treatment and medicines to people. After reviewing the success of this scheme that provided people in slum areas with doorstep medical facilities, the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel decided to extend this scheme to all the urban sectors of the state on 31 March 2022 and 60 more mobile medical units were set up. Under this scheme, now 120 mobile medical units full of doctors, paramedical staff, medical equipment, and medicines are reaching the slum areas of all urban sectors of the state and providing health facilities to people. Under the Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme, about 4,88,533 patients have been provided with the facility of pathology tests and 19,97,532 people have been provided with free medicines. The number of laborers among all the patients benefitted by this scheme is 2,38,960.
