Balod has undertaken a unique initiative to provide hot cooked meals through 'home tiffin service' to the women who are unable to visit Anganwadis due to any circumstances. This innovative initiative has been taken under the state government's ambitious 'Mukhyamantri Suposhan Yojana' launched three years ago by Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel to realize the vision of 'Gadhbo Suposhit Chhattisgarh' (Building a healthy Chhattisgarh).

In a bid to make this scheme a success in the Balod district, freshly prepared meals are being delivered to 650 women who are unable to visit Anganwadis at their doorstep. The move aims to ensure that pregnant and lactating mothers get nutritious food to keep themselves healthy. This has been done on the initiative of Balod district collector Shri Kuldeep Sharma to ensure effective implementation of the scheme in the district. Directions were given to the District Program Officer of the Women and Child Development Department to provide doorstep delivery of freshly prepared meals to the women who are unable to come to the Anganwadi centers. Acting swiftly on the same, hot-cooked meals are being provided to all pregnant and lactating mothers.

Meanwhile, the scheme was launched on October 2, 2019, to provide healthy and nutritious meals to malnourished children under 6 years of age and to anemic women and adolescent girls between 15 to 49 years of age. Since its inception till now, nearly 2.10 lakh children (50 per cent) have been freed from malnutrition in the state. In addition, about one lakh women are now anemia-free.

A nutritious diet is extremely important for pregnant and lactating mothers. Lack of nutritious food causes anemia and malnutrition in mothers and children. Physical weakness increases the risk of getting infected with various diseases. Keeping this in view, local nutritious food and hot cooked meals are being provided in the Anganwadis under this scheme.

In the 36th National Games, Chhattisgarh won two medals today. The men’s softball team won a silver medal and the women’s softball team won a bronze medal. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Mr.Umesh Patel have congratulated the players of both teams for their success. The Chhattisgarh team has won 2 Gold, 5 Silver and 6 Bronze medals in the National Games held in Gujarat so far.

Today, Chhattisgarh women’s softball team was playing against Kerala in the semi-finals. In the struggling match, Chhattisgarh settled for the bronze medal. It is worth mentioning that in the national championship of senior category, the women’s team won a medal for the first time. Earlier, the women’s team had once finished jointly in third place.

Today, the final match of the men’s softball game was played between Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra. Both the teams were in a tie position till the third inning. Maharashtra went ahead by one run in the fourth inning. Chhattisgarh team could not score any runs in the fifth inning and thus Maharashtra won the final match by 1-0. Chhattisgarh got the silver medal for being the runner-up in the final match.

- Prakash Aggarwal of village Chilfi told Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel that he has earned a profit of Rs 40 thousand so far by selling cow dung under Godhan Nyay Yojana. I have 10 cows in my house and I am earning a good income by selling cow dung, told Prakash. Chief Minister congratulated him.

In his address to the program, Chief Minister said that we are fighting a battle against malnutrition. Our government has started Suposhan Abhiyan to eradicate malnourishment in children.

Indira Dhruve told that freshly cooked food, eggs and nutritious meals are being provided in the Anganbadi centers, due to which the health of her child is continuously improving.

Chief Minister said that Rural Industrial Parks are being developed in Gauthans, Rs 2 crore has been sanctioned for equipping each of these rural industrial parks with basic amenities such as working shed, approach road, drinking water and electricity. Rural industrial parks are being developed with the objective to provide employment opportunities to the villagers, women and youth of the village.

Chief Minister asked about Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club in the village.

He directed the officials to work for tourism development and connect the local youth with the employment opportunities in tourism sector.

Chief Minister asked people about the caste certificates - Meanwhile, a beneficiary told him that his caste certificate has not been issued. Chief Minister, after taking information from the Panchayat Secretary and Tehsildar, directed them to update him about the status of his application by the end of the program.

During ‘Bhent-Mulaqat Abhiyan’, Chief Minister Mr.Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated a high-level bridge worth Rs. 9 crore 10 lakh that has been constructed on the Sakri river of National Highway No. 30 of Kawardha city. Addressing the people, he said that this bridge will mark a new chapter in the development of this district and is also the highest bridge in the city. After the construction of this high-level bridge, all-season connectivity will be available with the Mandala and Jabalpur of Madhya Pradesh and nearby districts like Mungeli, Bemetara, and Bilaspur Headquater. The people of the Kabirdham thanked the Chief Minister for fulfilling the long-awaited demand for the bridge.

A 100-year-old British-era low-level bridge on the Sakri river of National Highway number 30 gets flooded during monsoon and people were not able to use the bridge. This bridge needed to be replaced with a new high-level bridge. Cabinet Minister and Kawardha MLA Mr. Mohammad Akbar had requested the Chief Minister to give the approval for the construction of a high-level bridge across the Sakri river to have proper development of the Kabirdham district. Chief Minister approved Rs. 9 crore 10 lakh for the construction of a high-level bridge. Mr. Akbar also performed Bhoomi Pujan for the construction of the bridge and was monitoring himself to complete the bridge construction in the stipulated time, as a result of which the high-level bridge has been completed in just 9 months. This bridge will connect Madhya Pradesh and Raipur-Mungeli-Bilaspur.

A 90 meters long and 16 meters wide bridge has been made on the Sakri river of Raipur-Kawardha-Jabalpur National Highway No. 30. A 100-year-old British-era low-level bridge on the Sakri river of National Highway number 30 gets flooded during monsoon and people were not able to use the bridge. Now administrative approval has been given for replacing the old low-level bridge with a new high-level bridge. The construction work of the bridge started on 27 January 2020 and was completed in just 9 months. The workforce involved in the construction of this bridge includes engineers from the chief engineer to the sub-engineer, 15-20 skilled workers, and 40-50 unskilled workers at the site. The people of the Kabirdham district thanked the Chief Minister for the bridge.

Last date for submitting online applications to empanel the news website and portal of Chhattisgarh state for the next one year is 15 October 2022. Online applications for empanelment can be submitted in the prescribed format.

The application form along with the terms and conditions in this regard are available on the website of Public Relations Department, jansampark.cg.gov.in.

The display advertisements for the news website/web portal are approved on the basis of the need/utility/opportunity and budget availability. Notwithstanding anything contained in the rules, any news website shall not have any right to receive official advertisements.

Generally, the portal/website fulfilling the following conditions will be recommended for empanelment by the committee-

The empanelment of news websites of Chhattisgarh state will be for a period of 01 year. The average unique user count of the news website applying for empanelment should be 50 thousand during the last 06 months. Meanwhile, the average session duration should be minimum 30 seconds. Each website/portal should display the name of the owner, operator, editor, mobile number, e-mail, editorial office address of the website/portal on its home page. Daily updation of the websites/portals is also compulsory. The news website should have been online for at least one year, and the name and Internet address (URL) of the website should not have changed during this period. Priority will be given to the website/webportal uploading the activities of the State. Simultaneously, the committee may verify the monthly view number user report through available technical means such as reliable tariff analysis tool or any other means.

Private school principal arrested on charges of molestation

Bhilai : principal of a private school was on Saturday arrested on charges of molesting five students in Bhilai city.

The victim girls of Class 10 to 12 alleged that the principal, K. Anand Kumar, called them to his office and molested them, Durg Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallava said.

The girls had complained against the principal to the district education officer, following which a case was registered, the officer said.

A case under section 354 (molestation) of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered against him.

The Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has given instructions to ensure the availability of sufficient vehicles to take the dead bodies of deceased persons during treatment in Government hospitals to their homes with respect. Instructions have been issued on this matter by the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel to all the district Collectors. In the issued instructions, it has been specified that all district Collectors after coordinating with Health Department and Non-governmental Organizations should make a provision for sufficient numbers of vehicles so that the dead bodies of the deceased persons can be sent to their respective homes. It is worth to be noted that the facility of vehicles for dead bodies has been provided to many Government hospitals by Non-governmental Organizations. However, often we come across news where a family in mourning is unable to take the dead body to their home because of the unavailability of a vehicle on time.

An exhibition of the products manufactured by numerous Rural Industrial Parks (RIPA's) of the state has been put up by the Panchayat and Rural Development Department in the two-day Collector and SP conference organized at New Circuit House in the capital Raipur. This exhibition has been put up with the purpose of inspiring the collectors and the chief executive officers of different district panchayats to witness the different varieties of products manufactured by different districts RIPA's and Gauthans and to and take inspiration from each other's products and to create a better atmosphere of production and marketing. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today.

This exhibition has a diverse variety of products like milk products, spices, scented incense sticks, LED bulbs from Mahasamund district and soap, cookies, and candles from Raipur district, Kosa silk sarees, kurtis, salwar suit cloth from Janjgir-Champa. Coconut cold press oil, tikhur milk shake and spices from Kondagaon, ragi, spices, bell metal products of Bastar have also been displayed here.

Products manufactured from banana fiber by Bemetara district, ragi cookies,dry fruits, pickles, manufactured by Dantewada, paint made from cow dung, plastic bags for packing vermicompost have been prepared by Kanker Gauthans are also exhibited here. Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel on Friday inaugurated the tamarind processing plant established in Dhuragaon of Lohandiguda development block falling under Bastar district.

Shri Baghel inspected the processing plant and took information regarding the operation and capacity of the unit and the required human resources. Expressing happiness over the establishment of this processing unit, he said that this will expand the scope of investment in the industrial sector here. He said that processing of local forest produce and agricultural produce is necessary here for employment generation and the establishment of this plant is a major achievement in this direction.

Plant operator Karthik Kapoor said that this plant has the capacity to manufacture 10 metric tonnes of tamarind pulp, 5 metric tonnes of tamarind chapati, and 3 metric tonnes of tamarind seed powder per day. Spread over an area of 2 acres, the plant is well-equipped with all the necessary machinery and modern facilities. The plant also has a food laboratory. Strict adherence to all the norms of FSSAI will be ensured here. The plant is fully automatic with a manual mode operation option as well for power backup and to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing.

Bastar district administration approves land allotment proposals for the construction of community halls

Bastar : Acting swiftly on the announcement of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, the Bastar district administration has approved the land allotment of a total of 6.37 acres of land to 14 different societies for the construction of community halls. Under this, Chief Minister Shri Baghel will distribute the leases to the societies concerned during his visit to Bastar district on October 7.

It is worth mentioning here that during the Chief Minister's 'Bhent-Mulaqat Abhiyan', the delegation of these societies demanded land for the construction of community halls. Today, Chief Minister Mr.Bhupesh Baghel attended the Swami Atmanand Jayanti celebration organized at Patan in the Durg district. Addressing the people, he said that the state government is following the thoughts of our great personalities like Swami Atmanand, Dr. Khubchand Baghel to work in the field of education, health, agriculture and livelihood activities in Chhattisgarh. On this occasion, he inaugurated development works worth Rs.921 crore and performed Bhoomi Pujan in Patan Constituency Assembly. He said that Swami Atmanand Ji devoted his whole life to the education field and made quality education available to all sections of society. To fulfil his dreams, the government has started 701 English medium schools in his name. To keep children connected to their roots and traditions, Sanskrit and Chhattisgarhi subjects are also being taught in these schools. He said that along with empowering people economically, we have also worked towards saving the culture.

“Today we are celebrating the birth anniversary of Swami Atmanand Ji. We are determined to follow the path taught by him. I have inaugurated the Chhattisgarhiya Olympics Games in Raipur today. Our Chhattisgarhi games are on the verge of extinction. Now we have included 14 types of our local games in the Chhattisgarhiya Olympics.”, he said.

He said that everyone has an opportunity to participate in these games. It started on the birth anniversary of Swami Atmanand Ji and will end on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The instalment amount will release on October 17 before Diwali, so that people can celebrate Diwali happily. Paddy procurement will start from November 1.

He said that farmers should cultivate oilseeds and process them for oil in Gauthan, and for this purpose, rural livelihood centres have been established. These livelihood centres will provide employment opportunities to the educated youth. In health services, many types of tests are being done free of cost in Patan, as well as in Durg. The government is working to fulfil the dreams of our ancestors.

The Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, during a virtual program at his residential office, will distribute a total amount of Rs. 8 crores 13 lakh online to cow dung dealers, cattle-ranchers, villagers, women self-help groups, and Gauthan Committees under the Godhan Nyay Yojana.

On this occasion, Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, Urban Administration Minister Mr. Shivkumar Deheriya, Advisor to the Chief Minister Mr. Pradeep Sharma, Chief Minister’s Secretary Dr. S. Bharatidasan, Special Secretary of Agriculture Department Dr. Aiyaz F. Tamboli, Livestock Director Mrs. Chandan Sanjay Tripathi, and Director of Horticulture and Farm Forestry were also present.

An amount of Rs. 5.34 crores is being distributed under the Godhan Nyay Yojana by the Chief Minister Mr. Baghel to cow dung dealers, cattle-ranchers, and villagers. Moreover, dividend amounts of Rs. 1.69 crore and Rs. 1.11 crore are being distributed to Gauthan committees and women groups respectively.

The total amount paid till now to cow dung dealers has come to Rs. 170.34 crores including the amount paid today.

Considering the wide range of benefits of organic farming, farmers of Chhattisgarh have started actively adopting the organic way of cultivation in their farms. Besides using the vermicompost-super compost made from cow dung in Gauthans, farmers are now using organic insecticide called 'Brahmastra' and crop growth enhancer 'Jeevamrut' in place of chemical pesticide. It is worth mentioning here that Chhattisgarh Government is promoting organic farming in the state. In view of the increasing cost of cultivation, shortage in supply of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, and the loss caused by the same, farmers of the state are becoming more and more inclined towards the organic farming. The easy availability of organic fertilizers and organic pesticides is also proving to be helpful in controlling the input cost of farming.

It is noteworthy that under Godhan Nyay Yojana, cow dung is being procured in Gauthans for Rs. 2/kg, and this cow dung is being utilized to produce organic fertilizers. Recently, procurement of Gaumutra has also been started, which being used by women self-help groups to produce organic pesticides. Gaumutra procurement in Gauthans started on Hareli festival this year i.e. July 28, 2022, and so 53231 liters of cow urine has been procured and an amount of more than Rs 2.13 lakh has been paid to sellers by the Gauthan committees. Insecticide 'Bramhastra' and growth booster 'Jeevamrut' are being prepared from Gaumutra (cow urine). Out of the 17784 liters of Brahmastra prepared from cow urine by women's groups till date, nearly 13,609 liters of Brahmastra have been purchased by farmers for Rs. 3.43 lakhs. Organic pesticides are being produced in gauthans using Gaumutra to ensure continuous supply of organic insecticides and growth boosters to farmers.

The ambitious farmer- friendly schemes of Chhattisgarh government are proving to be a boon for the farmers who are earning substantial income by engaging in the cultivation of alternative cash crops. Even farmers of the state involved in small scale farming are also earning a better income from farming. With the initiative of the government and their hard work, farmers are writing new success stories . Continuous efforts are being made by the government and administration to make the farmers of the state financially empowered and to bring positive changes in their lives. To encourage farmers to take on the cultivation of new crops, the Agriculture Department is taking the initiative of connecting them with high quality seeds of different kinds of cash crops and educating them about modern farming.

One such story is of Salik Ram Dhruv hailing from Jaitpuri village, settled in the Vananchal area under Gariaband development block. Salik began to engage in maize cultivation by making better use of the forest patta given by the government after heeding advice and efforts of the Agriculture Department. Like most of the farmers of the state,salik was involved in paddy cultivation before.But with the guidance from the Agricultural Department, he planted free maize seeds (KMH-3426) provided by the Agriculture Department in two and a half acres of his field and he accomplished a great yield by producing about 18 quintals of maize from this cultivation. With maize cultivation, he has made substantial profit by selling more than 8 quintals in the open market. Salik Ram says that seeing the quality of maize, businessmen from nearby and other districts also used to come and buy maize. This improved his financial condition to a great extent.

Instead of the commonly adopted paddy farming, his family is becoming financially empowered with the income from maize. Salik Ram informs that out of the total production, about 10 quintals of maize will now be sold under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. With this they will also get the dividend of this scheme. Salik Ram is also educating his son Atmaram and others about the the tricks of farming alternative cash crops. Now both father and son are involved in farming in their land. His son Atmaram said that the yield of maize has come out really well, which has encouraged him to pursue this even further. He also said that the internet of youth is rising towards farming due to alternative and modern approaches towards farming. Atmaram said that he would encourage nearby farmers to take up other crops as well. So that they can also get empowered financially. Salik Ram,along with maize farming is also involved in fish farming and mushroom production and is earning additional profit with these alternative farming. Salik Ram and his son Atmaram thanked the State Government, District Administration and Agriculture Department for making them financially viable, to pursue maize cultivation.
