Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the VY Sairisa Cancer Care Centre in Raipur on Sunday. The VY Hospital and the Sairisa Health Care Foundation have jointly established the cancer centre at VY Hospital, located in Kamal Vihar, Raipur. Facilities such as radiation therapy, cancer surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hormonal therapy, palliative care, and nutritional therapy are available for cancer treatment. Maharashtra Governor Shri Ramesh Bais, Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Dr. Raman Singh, Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam, and Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal also participated in the inaugural ceremony.

In his address, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai stated that the establishment of this new cancer centre in Raipur will enhance the facilities for cancer treatment in the state. Cancer patients will receive excellent treatment with the modern facilities available at this centre. He stated that the state government is taking several positive steps in the healthcare sector. Changes in people's lifestyles are causing various diseases. Under government-run schemes, benefits will be provided to economically disadvantaged families in this hospital, which offers facilities for various types of cancer treatment. Generic medicines are also available at the hospital.

He further stated that health and medicine are areas of his interest and priority. As a people representative, he has consistently tried to ensure availability of better treatment at affordable costs.

Maharashtra Governor Shri Ramesh Bais, speaking at the program, stated that the country will progress only when there is a decrease in the number of patients. The increasing number of cancer patients in Chhattisgarh is a matter of concern. The establishment of a cancer centre at VY Hospital will benefit the people of the state. Dr. Raman Singh, Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, mentioned that the provision of free accommodation for the relatives of patients coming to VY Hospital is commendable. This hospital is operating as a mission, not only benefiting patients from Chhattisgarh but also providing assistance in the treatment of patients from neighbouring states.

Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam, speaking at the inauguration ceremony, described it as a historic moment for Chhattisgarh. The inauguration of a modern cancer centre is a significant step in providing healthcare services in the state. The centre will provide access to treatment of cancer at the local level. Health and Family Welfare Minister Mr. Shyam Bihari Jaiswal congratulated and extended best wishes to the management team and specialists of VY Hospital for establishing the state-of-the-art cancer center. He stated that this hospital has done a commendable job by providing better health services in the field of medicine.

Dr. Purnendu Saxena, Director of VY Hospital's management team, stated that the establishment of the Cancer Care Centre at VY Hospital will provide relief to cancer patients. The hospital has been operational since 2015, and with the addition of modern facilities and new medical equipment, patients suffering from various diseases are benefiting. With the commencement of the cancer centre, patients from the state will no longer have to go elsewhere for treatment. All types of cancer treatments will now be available at this hospital. Free accommodation arrangements have been made within the hospital premises for the relatives accompanying the patients.

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has extended best wishes to people of the state for the Rajim Kumbh Kalp and Shivrinarayan Mela commencing on 24th February. Shri Sai said that Rajim Kumbh Kalp is being organized in Rajim- the city popularly known as the Prayagraj of Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh Government is determined to restore the grandeur of Rajim Kumbh to its original form. In the same sequence, ‘Rajim Maghi Punni Mela’ has been renamed as ‘Rajim Kumbh Kalp’, reimagined to preserve and promote our glorious cultural heritage. Rajim Kumbh Kalp will be held from 24 February Magh Purnima to 8 March Maha Shivratri this year. This year Rajim Kumbh Kalp will be celebrated as Ramotsav.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Rajim Kumbh Mela has been organized for centuries at the sacred 'Triveni Sangam' i.e. the confluence of three rivers- Mahanadi, Pairi and Sondhur. A large number of people from across Chhattisgarh as well as the neighbouring states participate in this mega event with zeal and fervour. This event depicts the religious traditions and the folk culture of Chhattisgarh. This year, preparations at an extensive scale are in progress at Rajim Triveni Sangam. Sadhus, saints and devotees from all over the country arrive at Rajim to attend this mega fair. During the celebration of Rajim Kumbh Kalp, three holy baths (Pavitra Snan) will be held and various cultural and religious programs will be organized.

Shri Sai said that on the occasion of Magh Purnima, a fair similar to Rajim Kumbh is organized in Shivrinarayan as well. In this Shivrinarayan Mela held at the holy confluence of Mahanadi, Shivnath and Jonk rivers, large number of devotees gather to perform rituals. Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has also extended best wishes for the upcoming Sirpur Mahotsav. Sirpur Mahotsav will also be celebrated on Maghi Purnima on the banks of Mahanadi in Sirpur.

Women Self-Help Groups to resume management of Ready-to-Eat

Praising the State Government's decision, women from SHGs thank Chief Minister for restoring responsibilities

Raipur : The state government has decided to entrust the operation of ready-to-eat to women's groups once again under the 'Modi ki Guarantee'.

"The state government has made a very thoughtful decision to address the employment and livelihood crisis faced by us women. We are all overjoyed with this decision. It will empower thousands of women in the affected groups and restore their lost confidence," said the women associated with Self-Help Groups during their interaction with Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today at his office located in the Chhattisgarh Vidhansabha.

Women Self-Help Groups to resume management of Ready-to-Eat

Expressing their gratitude, the women further stated, "We, the women from 1786 women's groups across the state, wholeheartedly thank you for this decision."

Women from 30 districts, from Surguja to Bastar, informed the Chief Minister that all women involved in the operation of Ready to Eat are extremely pleased with his decision and wish to express their gratitude to him and the Chhattisgarh Government by organizing a function in his honour. They also extended an invitation to the Chief Minister for the event.

Representatives from all divisions across the state mentioned that nearly 26,000 women from the 1786 groups were directly involved in the operation of 'Ready to Eat' across the state. However, the previous government had deprived the women of their work. About 3 lakh people, including the family members of the women, were directly and indirectly affected by this, leading to many difficulties over the past years and causing a significant crisis in their livelihoods. Now, the government led by Chief Minister Shri Sai has understood their plight and made this thoughtful decision in their interest.

The women stated that they used the income generated from the 'Ready to Eat' operation to support their entire families. Besides, they did not have to depend on others for money during times of need, festivals, or special occasions. However, since their employment was snatched away, they have been facing financial difficulties. With the state government's decision to hand over the operation of Ready to Eat back to women's groups, they are hopeful of regaining employment opportunities.

Chief Minister told the women that Ready to Eat is crucial for the nutrition and health of our children, and its quality will be given special attention. He added that the government's intention is to ensure that children receive proper nutrition, and they are determined to achieve this goal. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma and Food Minister Shri Dayaldas Baghel were also present on the occasion.

Three businessmen trading in iron-steel found guilty of GST evasion worth Rs 6.75 crore

Raipur : Chhattisgarh's GST enforcement wing took a major action on Thursday, by raiding the factories located in Urla, Siltara area. In the sudden inspection conducted by the wing, three iron-steel product manufacturers namely Shyam Steel Industries, Ishwar Ispat and Ishwar TMT were found guilty of evading GST worth Rs 6.75 crore. The total amount of GST evasion is expected to be higher than what was found during the preliminary investigation. These firms deposited GST of Rs 4.75 crore with the authorities on the spot. These firms were buying raw scrap to make bars and evading GST.

It is noteworthy that the enforcement wing of GST in Chhattisgarh is actively monitoring and taking action on the complaints of tax evasion. The wing was monitoring these firms for GST evasion from scrap for a long time. Advanced IT tools were used by the department, and action was taken on the basis of the information obtained through inspection of the e-way bills and the information collected from the field.

Raipur : Rajim Kumbh Kalpa, which has carved out its own identity both nationally and globally, is set to commence this year from February 24, Maghapurnima, until March 08, Mahashivratri. The state government has officially named it 'Rajim Kumbh Kalpa'. This year, the festivity will be celebrated as Ramotsav, with elaborate arrangements underway at Rajim Triveni Sangam.

Inspecting the fair site last night, Religious Trusts and Endowments Minister Shri Brijmohan Agrawal reviewed the necessary arrangements, including the main stage, cultural stage for local artists, Ganga bathing area, saints' residences, drinking water facilities, toilets, Kuleshwar Mahadev Marg, and Lomash Rishi Ashram. He directed to ensure the completion of all preparations at the fair venue within the stipulated time.

Rajim MLA Shri Rohit Sahu, Collector Shri Deepak Agrawal, SSP Shri Amit Tukaram Kamble, along with senior officials from Gariaband, Raipur, and Dhamtari districts, and local public representatives were present during the inspection.

Following the inspection, Minister Shri Agrawal chaired a meeting with officials at the fair venue, directing them to expedite all necessary tasks. He instructed the Health Department to ensure adequate medical facilities, including a stock of essential allopathic and ayurvedic medicines, laboratory testing, and ambulance services. Besides, he called for whitewashing and lighting in all temples.

The Minister also directed the Electricity Department to ensure sufficient power supply and the PHE department to set up uninterrupted drinking water supply and toilet facilities. He stressed the need for continuous sprinkling of water to control dust on the roads.

During 'Rajim Kumbh Kalpa' 2024, a special three-day programme is scheduled, including bathing rituals at Rajim Triveni Sangam on February 24, March 4, and March 8. Over 15 days, various cultural and religious events will take place during the Rajim Kumbh Mela, attracting Sadhus, saints, and devotees from across the country.

Raipur : As per the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Health Department has commenced the recruitment of medical officers and specialist doctors in Chhattisgarh. Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal informed in the Assembly today that 246 MBBS doctors have been posted as medical officers and 21 doctors have been posted as specialist doctors. These newly-appointed MBBS doctors have recently completed their degree. Fifty percent of these newly-appointed doctors will provide their services in remote areas of Bastar and Surguja divisions.

Health Minister mentioned that under National Health Mission Scheme, if any MBBS doctor or specialist doctor applies for appointment on any vacant post in any hospital, then the state government will appoint the said applicant within 24 hours.

Shri Jaiswal has said that more than 5 thousand posts of ground staff and doctors are vacant in the health department, recruitment on which will be done soon through Vyapam and PSC.

Shri Jaiswal has said that as per the instructions of Chief Minister, Health Department will appoint doctors in primary health centers to provide better healthcare facilities to people, especially those living in remote areas.

Villagers' complaint prompts inspection of water tank, Engineer-In-Chief instructed to submit inspection report

Flaws uncovered during inspection of water tank, prompting action against responsible officials and contractor

No compromise on quality or delays tolerated: Shri Sao

Raipur : Deputy Chief Minister and Public Health Engineering Minister Shri Arun Sao has issued instructions to demolish the substandard water tank under construction in Deorhat of Lormi development block of Mungeli district. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sao, during his recent visit to Deorhat to attend a programme, promptly went to the work site and inspected it upon receiving complaints from villagers about low-quality construction and delays.

He directed the Engineer-In-Chief of the Public Health Engineering Department to inspect the water tank under construction and submit an inspection report. Following the inspection, the work was found to be of poor quality and riddled with flaws. Consequently, the Deputy Chief Minister ordered its demolition and the construction of a new water tank. The demolition of the under-constructed water tank has commenced. The Engineer-In-Chief has also recommended action against the responsible officers and the contractor in the inspection report.

Since assuming the role as Minister of the Public Health Engineering Department, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao has stressed the importance of quality construction and timely completion of projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission. He has consistently directed departmental officers in this regard, stating that compromise on quality and delays are unacceptable under any circumstances.

After inspecting the water tank under construction in Deorhat, the Engineer-In-Chief of the Public Health Engineering Department reported that the agency appointed for the construction work, Shri Ram Construction Company from Bijuri (Anuppur), has delivered poor-quality construction and extensively delayed the work. Given the failure to adhere to prescribed standards and quality in the construction of the water tank, it is deemed unfit for public use. This indicates serious negligence on the part of both the contractor and departmental engineers. The third-party inspection agency, Engineering Staff College of India, responsible for overseeing the work, has also been found unsatisfactory.

In light of the negligence during the tank's construction, the Engineer-In-Chief has instructed the demolition of the substandard water tank and the construction of a new tank meeting prescribed standards. The contractor has been instructed to take proper precautions during the demolition to prevent any untoward incidents.

The inspection report highlights that the reputation of the Jal Jeevan Mission has been tarnished due to the poor quality of construction work. Consequently, the contractor, Shri Ram Construction Company, is prohibited from participating in any work related to the Public Health Engineering Department until further notice. The Engineer-In-Chief has directed the Chief Engineer, Bilaspur, to prepare show cause notices and charge sheets for disciplinary action against the concerned Executive Engineer, Shri I.P. Mandavi, Assistant Engineer Shri S.P. Sonwani, and Deputy Engineer Shri I.S. Kashyap.

He appealed to the youth to become partners in nation-building, stating that the job creation campaign by the Government of India is being carried out with complete transparency, ensuring equal opportunities for all the youth of the country to prove their abilities.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, while addressing the virtual programme following the laying of the foundation stone of Karmik Bhawan in Delhi, stated that it will aid in the training and coordination of personnel. He added that positive steps are being taken so that youth can secure their place based on hard work and talent. Recruitment processes for the jobs are being completed within the stipulated time limit, and with the implementation of the Startup Scheme, youth are getting various employment opportunities.

In the series of 'Rozgar Mela' being organized in various states of the country, one such event was organized at the Central Reserve Police Force Camp located in Arang of Raipur district. Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Smt. Anupriya Patel participated in the virtual distribution programme of appointment letters to the candidates in this Rozgar Mela. On this occasion, she distributed appointment letters to 75 candidates selected in various Central Armed Forces and other departments. She stated that this 'Rozgar Mela' is a historic step towards fulfilling the commitment of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to give top priority to employment generation. The job fair will act as a catalyst for employment generation in the future and provide meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment and participation in the development of the nation.

Over 103.40 lakh metric tonnes of paddy lifted in the state

Raipur : Till now, the state government has purchased a record 144.92 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from farmers at support price. Along with paddy procurement, continuous lifting of paddy is going on for custom milling. Till now, DO has been issued for lifting of 106 lakh 69 thousand 702 metric tonnes of paddy, against which 103 lakh 40 thousand 304 metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted by the millers.

In lieu of paddy procurement, an amount of more than Rs 31,913 crore has been paid to the farmers. According to the information received from the General Manager of Markfed, till now 144 lakh 92 thousand 96 metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased from 24 lakh 72 thousand 440 farmers in the state till February 04 at support price.

In his address to the program as Chief Guest, Shri Sai said that the leadership at the Centre has given the due honour to tribal community by appointing me as the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh.

With your support, I aim to serve Chhattisgarh Mahatari with all my heart and best of my capabilities", said Chief Minister Shri Sai while addressing the felicitation and martyrdom day ceremony of Amar Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh organized by Kendriy Gond Mahasabha Dhamdhagarh at Kachna Dhurwa Temple premise located in Civil Lines of District Headquarters Durg.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai announced immediate sanction of Rs 25 lakh for installing the statue of tribal folk hero Birsa Munda and Rs 50 lakh for construction of additional room in Gondwana Bhawan in Durg, on the demand of Kendriya Gondwana Mahasabha. People present at the program cheered and applauded the announcements made by Chief Minister.

Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh Government is dedicatedly and rapidly fulfilling the guarantees of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Besides the approval of Pradhan Mantri Aawas to more than 18 lakh eligible families of the state, our government has paid the outstanding bonus of two years worth Rs 3716 crore to the farmers in their accounts. Our government is also commencing the implementation of Mahtari Vandan Yojana from March 1. At present, applications are being collected and once the eligible beneficiaries for the scheme are identified, they will be provided an amount of Rs 1000 per month directly in their bank accounts.

Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh is the 'Nanihal' of Shri Ram. Chhattisgarh is the place where Shri Ram had spent most of his exile period. Chief Minister further said that Shri Ram's affection for the people of this region and Mata Shabri's pure devotion towards Lord Shri Ram are the invaluable assets of Chhattisgarh. He said that fulfilling the guarantee of Modi ji, our government has started Shri Ramlala Darshan Scheme. Praan Pratishtha of Shri Ramlala has been been done in Ayodhya Dham after 500 years. Our government is providing people the opportunity to do 'Darshan' of Ramlala, at government expense.

Referring to another guarantee of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister had promised procurement of 21 quintals of paddy per acre from the farmers at the rate of Rs 3100 per quinta, which we have fulfilled. The difference amount in price of paddy will be paid to the farmer in lump sum. Government has provisioned Rs 10 thousand crore in the budget for this purpose. Fulfilling the guarantee of Prime Minister, our government has now issued an order to provide remuneration of Rs 5500 per standard bag to tendupatta collectors.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated Gondwana Mahasabha for installation of the statue of freedom fighter and social reformer tribal leader Birsa Munda. Tribal leader Birsa Munda was born in Banga village of Jharkhand. Birsa Munda fought to free the people from the dictatorship and oppression of the British and protected the rights of the tribal communities. Chief Minister said that Birsa Munda's life, his inspiring thoughts and revolutionary works are a source of inspiration for all of us.

At the program, the officials of Kendriya Gond Mahasabha honoured Chief Minister by crowning him with a bejeweled cow horn and gifted him a bow and arrow. On this occasion, Chief Minister was also weighed with Motichoor laddus by the tribal Gond community. In the program, Food Minister Mr. Dayal Das Baghel and MLAs Mr. Doman Lal Korsewada, Mr. Gajendra Yadav and Mr. Lalit Chandrakar and President of Kendriya Gond Mahasabha Dhamdhagarh Mr. M.D. Thakur and other officials and people of the community were present in large numbers.

Chief Minister announced the revocation of the Mineral Resources Department's circular for offline process and its associated circulars related to coal transportation

Raipur: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai announced on Wednesday that the approval process related to coal transportation in Chhattisgarh will be reverted to a more efficient online system. This move aims to enhance transparency, eliminate corruption, and promote good governance in mineral administration. The Chief Minister made this declaration while responding to a calling attention motion in the Assembly on Wednesday.

Chief Minister Shri Sai responded to the Calling Attention and highlighted a significant change made by the previous government in the Mineral Resources Department. On July 15, 2020, a directive was issued mandating physical verification by district mineral staff before issuing e-permits for coal transportation, which led to an offline process. This alteration introduced human interference, leading to corruption allegations and transportation delays.

Chief Minister Shri Sai shared the efficiency of the previous online system in the Mineral Resources Department, which allows lessees to seamlessly acquire e-permits and e-transit passes for coal transportation via the Mineral Online Portal without visiting any office. However, the shift to an offline process under the previous government resulted in delays in the transportation of coal and revenue losses from royalty blockages in numerous coal mines. The Government of India raised objections twice, citing these issues. Furthermore, the offline approach facilitated illicit activities and corruption and tarnished the state's reputation.

The Chief Minister addressed concerns raised by various state institutions regarding the offline system for coal transportation, which prompted allegations of illegal transactions and extortion. Following investigations by the Enforcement Directorate, a complaint has been filed in court and is currently under review.

Additionally, the Directorate has initiated a corruption case with the Anti-Corruption Bureau, which is now under investigation. With a commitment to transparency and good governance, the Chief Minister announced the revocation of the Mineral Resources Department's July 15, 2020 circular and all associated instructions.

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai met renowned Kathak dancer Shri Ramlal Bareth, who is associated with Raigarh Gharana, at the State Guest House Pahuna on Sunday. Chief Minister Shri Sai invited Shri Bareth to commend his contribution and honour him for elevating Chhattisgarh's cultural pride. Maharaja Chakradhar Singh recognised the innate talent of Shri Ramlal Bareth when he was 4 years old. He assured Shri Ramlal Bareth’s father, Shri Kirtanram, who was also associated with the Kathak art form, that he would train Shri Bareth under his supervision. Shri Bareth underwent training supervised by Maharaja Chakradhar Singh and other acclaimed artists nationwide. Shri Ramlal Bareth fulfilled the trust Maharaja Chakradhar Singh placed in him. He elevated Raigarh Gharana to new heights and received accolades from the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award to the prestigious Padmashree Award.

Shri Sai stated,” Shri Ramlal Bareth made Chhattisgarh proud of the country through his artistic talent. I have heard stories associated with Raigarh, especially the stories of Maharaja Chakradhar Singh's musical prowess. I have also heard that the melodies of Tabla played by Maharaj ji had the power to control nature, even invoking the rain in that area”. Chief Minister acknowledged the honour of having a Kathak maestro, Shri Bareth, who learned under such a distinguished artist.

Shri Bareth is now 88 years old. He shared about his old days of financial hardships, which intensified after Maharaja Chakradhar Singh departed from Raigarh state. He further shared that Kathak dance needs a skilled accompanist. Through perseverance, he overcame the obstacles and ensured the continued prestige of the Raigarh Gharana in the realm of Kathak.

Shri Bareth had a strong connection with eminent Kathak artists nationwide and particularly shared a close bond with Pandit Birju Maharaj. Pandit Birju Maharaj was also born in Raigarh. The Raigarh was the nurturing ground for Bareth's Kathak journey; he enriched himself through the lessons of luminaries like Achchan Maharaj and started his remarkable journey of exploration of the Kathak art form.

Shri Bareth highlighted the past significance of classical music and dance in films. Notably, Ustad Amir Khan Saheb had a close connection with the Raigarh Gharana, while actress and singer Sulakshana Pandit's father was also associated with the Raigarh Gharana.

Shri Bareth is passing on the Kathak legacy to the next generation and shared that his grandfather and father were also associated with the Kathak art form. Now, his sons are also actively involved in the Kathak art form.

Expressing joy, Shri Bareth revealed his happiness at being chosen for the Padmashree award by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He stated,” Today, the Chief Minister honoured me at Pahuna, and I have a desire that Kathak may gain prominence in the nation through the Raigarh Gharana.”
