Youth Festival 2022-23 will be organized to connect youth with cultural activities

Youth Festival 2022-23 is being organized with the aim to connect the youth of the state with cultural activities and hone their talent and skills. Youth festival will be organized at the block, district, division, and state level. The Youth Festival at the development block level will end on 15 November 2022, at the district level will be organized from 16 November to 10 December, at the divisional level will be organized from 11 December to 31 December 2022 and at the state level will be organized from 12 to 14 January 2023. Youth Festival will be organized in two age groups from 15 to 40 years and above 40 years of age.

The Youth Festival is being organized by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department. According to the guidelines issued by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, there will be competitions in 18 disciplines in the youth category. These include folk dance, folk songs, solo drama (Hindi, English, Chhattisgarhi language), classical singing-Hindustani style, classical singing-Carnatic style, sitar playing (classical playing), flute playing (classical playing), tabla playing (classical playing), veena playing (Classical Instrumental), Mridgam Playing (Classical Instrumental), Harmonium playing(light classical playing), Guitar playing (Indian and Western Music), Manipuri (Classical Dance), Odissi (Classical Dance), Bharatanatyam (Classical Dance), Kathak (Classical dance), Kuchipudi (classical dance).

Along with the above-mentioned classical styles, traditional folk dances and other activities that outline the rich culture of Chhattisgarh will also be involved in the Youth Festival. These include Sua, Panthi, Karma Nacha, Sarhul Nacha, Bastariha folk dance, Raut Nacha, Fugdi, Bhora, Gedi race, Rock Band (will be included directly at the state level), Traditional Costumes Competition, Food Festival- competition based on Chhattisgarhi Cuisine, painting competition - based on the depiction of folk culture of Chhattisgarh, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, wrestling. The folk literature of the state has also been included as announced by Chief Minister Mr.Bhupesh Baghel. 
Chhattisgarh is a state of diverse culture and dialects, if artists wish to perform any local folk art (like paintings, handicrafts, Mural painting, and others), or to perform in any folk literature (based on Gondi, Halbi, Kuduk, etc) and if they represent the culture of Chhattisgarh, all of them will be included at the district level. In the intellectual category, there will be debates (extempore and current affairs), quiz, and essay competitions.
