Immediate action on Chief Minister's instruction

 Director of Public Instruction Department issues an order to suspend the former principal of Government Higher Secondary School Semra

Following the instructions of Chief Minister Mr.Bhupesh Baghel, the Director of the Public Instruction Department has issued an order to suspend the Principal cum lecturer-in-charge Mr.Lokpal Singh of Government Higher Secondary School of Semra in Janjgir-Champa district. During the Bhent-Mulaqat in Nawagarh block of Janjgir-Champa district, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel reached Semra village today. There he interacted with the students and received a complaint against the then-in-charge Principal, Mr. Lokpal Singh. Students told him that he was not interested in listening to them and did not resolve the problems faced by students. The students had to go on strike to implement the state government's order for waiving off school fees during Covid. Taking this complaint seriously, Chief Minister Mr.Bhupesh Baghel directed the officials to suspend Mr.Lokpal Singh.


In an order issued by the Director of the Public Instruction Department, it has been mentioned that the District Education Officer of Janjgir-Champa had received a complaint against the Principal-in-charge of the Government Higher Secondary School Semra for not returning the fees taken from the students of this school in the past. In an order issued on January 12 2021, he was transferred to the Government Higher Secondary School at Dhurkot and ordered to continue teaching there. He did not hand over the charge of his post till November 10, 2022, and did not join the Government Higher Secondary School at Dhurkot. He remained in the former school in contempt of the order issued to him. The District Education Officer of Janjgir-Champa on November 10, 2022, conducted an investigation against the charges received by him and found them true.
It has been mentioned in the suspension order issued by the Director of the Public Instruction Department that due to the above act of Mr.Lokpal Singh being contrary to the Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Conduct) Rules 1965, he is suspended with immediate effect under the Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1966. During the suspension period, he has been attached to the office of the District Education Officer, Janjgir-Champa. During the suspension period, he will be eligible for subsistence allowance as per the rules.
