Gariaband -TNINS 

Women self-help groups are being provided employment all year round through the Van Dhan Kendra located at Mainpur development block headquarters under Gariaband Forest Division. The women working here manufactures 'dona-pattal' and snack plate from Mahul leaf. The mahul leaves thus used are purchased through the nearby Forest Management Committee. The manufactured products are being sold as per orders received from various firms and individuals.

The Self-Help group members working here are becoming self-reliant by earning their own income. In the years 2020 and 2021, even during the Covid-19 pandemic period, these women earned good income by manufacturing masks and selling them to various Forest Management Committees and Minor Forest Produce Committees. The said center has earned a profit of Rs 2.93 lakh in the year 2020-21 and 2021-22 and Rs 1.53 lakh in the year 2022-23 in product sales.

Dona-Pattals and snack plates are manufactured here in various sizes. At present, due to the ban on single-use plastic items, the demand for organic products like Dona-Pattal is increasing continuously in the market.
