After providing residential land, now 1.80 crore released for development works*

The state government has issued a heartening order for the journalists of Rajnandgaon district on Thursday amid the joy of the Journalist Protection Act. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has fulfilled two promises made to the journalists of Rajnandgaon district within a year. The Bhupesh government, which gave 10 acres of residential land in the year 2022, has now also issued administrative approval of Rs one crore 80 lakh for basic development works in that land. The construction work of road, water, electricity and drain will be started soon on the residential land allotted for journalists in Paneka with this amount.

Significantly, the journalists of Rajnandgaon district were demanding residential land for a long time. With the formation of Press Club Griha Nirman Sahakari Samiti,  the state government decided to give 10 acres of land of Rajgami Sampada Nyas located in Paneka to journalists as soon as the paperwork was completed . In January 2022, four months after the desired amount was paid to Rajgami Nyas, the land was allotted to the Home Construction Committee of the Press Club. By August 15, 2022, this land has been redistributed equally (1980 square feet) to all the 142 members of the committee.

Invited the journalists home and gave them the amount of development

On August 16, 2022, after the registration of land in the name of journalists, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel invited the journalists of the district to Chief Minister's residence Raipur and Mr. Baghel himself handed over the documents of the allotted land to the journalists. He also made an important announcement of giving one crore 80 lakh rupees for the development works in the proposed Journalist Colony on this occasion. Completing all kinds of paperwork, the government also released this amount to Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation through the Urban Administration Department within a short span of just seven months.

Work to start soon after tender

The work of road, drain, electricity and water will be done with the said amount. Rs 84 lakh has been released for electrification. The remaining amount can be spent on other proposed works. In the order issued on March 23, Superintendent Engineer of Urban Administration Department Shyam Patel has said that the construction work should be started soon after completing the tender process. Due to this achievement, there is immense joy among the journalists of the district. President of Press Club Sachin Agrahari and President of Press Club Griha Nirman Co-operative Society Mithlesh Dewangan have expressed gratitude towards the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and the Government of Chhattisgarh for this endeavor.
