Bhent Mulaqat Abhiyan: with the initiative of the Chief Minister, the farmers of Balrampur district got the land acquisition compensation amount pending for years

Chief Minister's Bhent-Mulaqat Abhiyan has benefited the farmers of Balrampur district. The Water Resources Department cleared a pending land acquisition amount of Rs 5 crore 46 lakh 20 thousand for 43 farmers of the Girwani and Kotrahi reservoir projects on the directives of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel. Minister of School Education, Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam handed these farmers compensation cheques.

As stated by the farmers, they had given up hope of receiving compensation. Farmers are overjoyed now that they have received their compensation. These farmers have expressed gratitude to the state government and the Chief Minister for receiving compensation. Farmers' land had been taken for irrigation projects, and they had not received compensation for nearly 15 years. When these farmers addressed Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel about their issues during his Bhent-Mulaqat Abhiyan, he directed the officers to investigate the land acquisition compensation cases and present the farmers with the compensation amount as soon as possible.

According to the information received from the officials, in the year 2008, the reservoir was constructed under irrigation projects in Girwani and Kotrahi of Wadrafnagar development block. Here, for irrigation projects, the case was prepared under land acquisition by declaring the agricultural land of 43 farmers in submergence area. These farmers had not received the amount of compensation under land acquisition for a long time the farmers were worried about the amount of compensation.

In such a situation, under the guidance of Collector Mr. Vijay Dayaram K. Resolving the compensation cases of irrigation projects of Kotrahi Reservoir Dam Scheme, a total of Rs. 01 crore 81 lakh 20 thousand 6 hundred was given to 16 affected farmers and an amount of Rs. 03 Crore 65 lakh 40 was given to 27 farmers under Girwani Reservoir Dam Scheme with their compensation amounts.
