Chief Minister Mr.Bhupesh Baghel expressed concern over the delayed rains this year and expressed optimism that plentiful rainfall is expected soon, which will ensure the good cultivation of the crop.  Understanding farmers' concerns, he affirmed the state government's unwavering support, emphasising that the state government stands alongside every farmer in the state. He directed the officials to undertake comprehensive preparations to address any contingencies. He further emphasised the importance of ensuring that farmers encounter no difficulties in their agricultural activities.

He distributed an amount of Rs 12.72 crore to beneficiaries of the Godhan NYAY Yojana during a program held at his residence office. Through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), he transferred Rs 4.79 crore for the purchase of 2.40 lakh quintals of cow dung from June 1 to June 15. This initiative aims to support cattle herders, villagers, farmers, and landless individuals through Gauthans. Additionally, Rs 4.67 crore was distributed to Gauthan committees, while women's SHGs received Rs 3.26 crore. Highlighting the significance of the 'Rath Yatra', the Chief Minister conveyed his greetings to the people of the state for the Rath Yatra and expressed his happiness at transferring the funds of the Godhan NYAY Yojana on this auspicious day.

Under the Godhan NYAY Yojana, the state government has distributed Rs. 488.67 crore to the beneficiaries till now. As of June 15, 2023, 121.04 lakh quintals of cow dung have been procured from Gauthans across the state, and the cow dung vendors have received an amount of Rs 242.07 crore. Additionally, Gauthan committees and women's SHGs have received Rs 231.53 crore till now.

Highlighting a positive trend, the Chief Minister stated that self-supporting Gauthans' involvement in cow dung procurement is steadily rising. Since the commencement of this scheme, the proportion of payments made by self-supporting Gauthans has consistently reached 60 to 70 percent. Self-supporting Gauthans have paid an amount of Rs 61.69 crore for the procurement of cow dung from their own funds. He distributed Rs 4.79 crore to cow dung vendors, to which the Agriculture Department contributed Rs 1.90 crore, while the self-supporting Gauthans contributed Rs 2.89 crore for the cow dung procurement.

Chief Minister highlights the positive trends observed in organic farming in the state

The Chief Minister shared his observation of the growing inclination among farmers towards organic farming in the state. The Godhan NYAY Yojana has played a significant role in fostering this trend. Women's SHGs in Gauthans produced over 35.06 lakh quintals of vermicompost from cow dung procured under the scheme. Out of this, farmers have utilised approximately 16.56 lakh quintals of vermicompost in their fields. Additionally, 6.34 lakh quintals of vermicompost are readily available in 7,300 Gauthans across the state. The supply of vermicompost to farmers will be consistently maintained, ensuring continued support for organic agricultural practises.

Chief Minister urges people to take care of themselves and their families from scorching temperatures and heatwaves

Amidst scorching temperatures and prevalent heatwaves, the Chief Minister issued a public appeal, urging citizens to protect themselves and their children from heat strokes. He emphasised the importance of taking necessary precautions and ensuring the well-being of their families during this hot weather.

The Nodal Officer of Narva, Garuva, Ghurva, and Bari Yojana, Dr.Ayyaj Tamboli, informed about the progress of Godhan NYAY Yojana during the program. Chief Minister's Advisor Mr. Pradeep Sharma, Parliamentary Secretary Mrs. Rashmi Ashish Singh, MLA Mr. Laljit Singh Rathia, Mr. Chakradhar Singh Sidar, Mr. Purushottam Kanwar, Mr. Mohit Ram, Dr. K.K. Dhruv, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Subrat Sahoo, Director in Agriculture Department Mrs. Ranu Sahu, and concerned officers of the department were present.
