Appointment of 246 MBBS and 21 specialist doctors, fifty percent of these doctors have been appointed in Bastar and Surguja divisions

Raipur : As per the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Health Department has commenced the recruitment of medical officers and specialist doctors in Chhattisgarh. Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal informed in the Assembly today that 246 MBBS doctors have been posted as medical officers and 21 doctors have been posted as specialist doctors. These newly-appointed MBBS doctors have recently completed their degree. Fifty percent of these newly-appointed doctors will provide their services in remote areas of Bastar and Surguja divisions.
Health Minister mentioned that under National Health Mission Scheme, if any MBBS doctor or specialist doctor applies for appointment on any vacant post in any hospital, then the state government will appoint the said applicant within 24 hours.
Shri Jaiswal has said that more than 5 thousand posts of ground staff and doctors are vacant in the health department, recruitment on which will be done soon through Vyapam and PSC.
Shri Jaiswal has said that as per the instructions of Chief Minister, Health Department will appoint doctors in primary health centers to provide better healthcare facilities to people, especially those living in remote areas.
