Chief Minister informed that out of the targeted 5,050,012 households, 3,917,491 (78.21%) now have tap connections

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, along with Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, met with Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti Shri Raj Bhushan Choudhary at his residence office on Tuesday. During the meeting, the Chief Minister honoured Shri Choudhary by presenting him with a shawl, a shriphal, and a memento.

They discussed the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission aimed at providing clean drinking water through tap connections across Chhattisgarh. The Chief Minister informed that out of the targeted 5,050,012 households, 3,917,491 (78.21%) now have tap connections. Dhamtari district leads with tap connections provided to 98% of households, the highest in the state. In Raipur district, 93.42% of households have tap connections, followed by Rajnandgaon with 88.50%, Mungeli with 87.27%, Janjgir-Champa with 87.21%, and Durg with 87.16%. Moreover, over 75% of the Jal Jeevan Mission work is completed in 13 districts, and in 3,371 out of 19,647 villages, 100% of the work is finished. The effort to provide tap water connection to villagers is underway in 16,257 villages.
