Chief Minister inaugurates a high-level bridge worth Rs.9 crore 10 lakh on Sakri river of National Highway No. 30

During ‘Bhent-Mulaqat Abhiyan’, Chief Minister Mr.Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated a high-level bridge worth Rs. 9 crore 10 lakh that has been constructed on the Sakri river of National Highway No. 30 of Kawardha city. Addressing the people, he said that this bridge will mark a new chapter in the development of this district and is also the highest bridge in the city. After the construction of this high-level bridge, all-season connectivity will be available with the Mandala and Jabalpur of Madhya Pradesh and nearby districts like Mungeli, Bemetara, and Bilaspur Headquater. The people of the Kabirdham thanked the Chief Minister for fulfilling the long-awaited demand for the bridge.

A 100-year-old British-era low-level bridge on the Sakri river of National Highway number 30 gets flooded during monsoon and people were not able to use the bridge. This bridge needed to be replaced with a new high-level bridge. Cabinet Minister and Kawardha MLA Mr. Mohammad Akbar had requested the Chief Minister to give the approval for the construction of a high-level bridge across the Sakri river to have proper development of the Kabirdham district. Chief Minister approved  Rs. 9 crore 10 lakh for the construction of a high-level bridge. Mr. Akbar also performed Bhoomi Pujan for the construction of the bridge and was monitoring himself to complete the bridge construction in the stipulated time, as a result of which the high-level bridge has been completed in just 9 months. This bridge will connect Madhya Pradesh and Raipur-Mungeli-Bilaspur.


A 90 meters long and 16 meters wide bridge has been made on the Sakri river of Raipur-Kawardha-Jabalpur National Highway No. 30. A 100-year-old British-era low-level bridge on the Sakri river of National Highway number 30 gets flooded during monsoon and people were not able to use the bridge. Now administrative approval has been given for replacing the old low-level bridge with a new high-level bridge. The construction work of the bridge started on 27 January 2020 and was completed in just 9 months. The workforce involved in the construction of this bridge includes engineers from the chief engineer to the sub-engineer, 15-20 skilled workers, and 40-50 unskilled workers at the site. The people of the Kabirdham district thanked the Chief Minister for the bridge.

On the occasion of bridge inauguration, the Health Minister and the Minister-in-charge of the district, Mr.T.S. Singhdeo, Forest Minister Mr.Mohammad Akbar, Pandariya MLA, Mrs. Mamta Chandrakar, Mr.Neelkanth Chandravanshi, Member of CG State Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA) Mr.Kanhaiyalal Agarwal, Commissioner Durg Division Mr.Mahadev Kavre, Collector Mr.Janmejay Mahobe, Municipal Council President Mr.Rishi Kumar Sharma, Representative of District Panchayat Vice President Hori Sahu, Agriculture Produce Market President Mr.Neelkanth Sahu, Vice President Mr.Chova Ram Sahu and other public representatives were present.
