RAIPUR : Right to Information (RTI) is for the good of the common man. Its main objective is to make available every information of the government to the general public, Chief Information Commissioner M.K. Raut said on Wednesday.
He was addressing a workshop organized to mark the foundation day of the Chhattisgarh State Information Commission.
He said citizens have the right to get information. If denied, they can complain to the Commission. Public can seek any information about any work of the government. It helps to bring transparency in governance.
Now, people can file applications through an online web portal, he said.
State Information Commissioner (SIC) Ashok Agrawal said with online facilities, quick action can be taken. The important decisions of the Commission from 2005 to 2022 have been compiled and published. It will be a reference material for all.
SIC Manoj Trivedi said video conferencing has helped to hear cases.
