This flagship scheme of the State government has significantly eased the financial burden on needy families and has emerged as a boon for all sections of society, enabling dignified marriages for daughters from economically weaker backgrounds.

Addressing the gathering, Tourism and Culture Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal said that Chhattisgarh Government's _Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana_ has emerged as a practical and compassionate solution for the families concerned about their daughter's wedding and the expenses involved. Under the scheme, financial aid of Rs 50,000 is provided per couple, of which Rs 35,000 is directly transferred to the bride’s bank account. The remaining Rs 15,000 is spent on wedding arrangements, bridal adornment and other related expenses.

Shri Agrawal noted that the scheme supports needy families in performing their daughters’ marriages with dignity. The solemnisation of so many marriages together, following all traditional rituals, is a matter of pride for society. He lauded the district administration and the Women and Child Development Department for organising the event successfully. He extended his best wishes to the newly-wed couples for a happy and prosperous married life.

A total of 94 couples from the Rajim Assembly constituency, 181 from Bindranawagarh and eight from the Kurud Assembly constituency participated in the ceremony. The State government’s far-sighted initiative has infused new hope among financially weaker families. Rajim MLA Shri Rohit Sahu described "Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana" as a living example of the government’s commitment to public welfare. He expressed gratitude to all officers and employees associated with the event.

Collector Shri B.S. Uikey informed that such ceremonies are being organised simultaneously across the State, a collective effort that will be registered as a world record.
