New Delhi : Contribution of Sikhs in India's Independence
National Seminar on 'Partition of India 1947 and Contribution of Sikhs in Freedom Struggle' was organized at Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, University of Delhi today.

  Principal Prof. Jaswinder Singh formally started the programme by welcoming the guests.
  Sardar Tarlochan Singh (Chairman, Managing Committee, Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College) told the need to observe and think about both partition and independence from different point of view. On the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, especially the younger generation was urged for continuous remembrance and evaluation of both the historical events.

The keynote speaker of the programme  Dr. Raghuvendra Tanwar (Chairman, Indian Council of Historical Research, New Delhi) highlighted the horrors of partition, various misconceptions related to it and it's socio-political consequences and damage to human values. India's civilization - culture has been described as the basic element in determining the nature of this nation. Dr. Mohinder Singh made a digital presentation on the contribution of Sikhs in independence and highlighted the condition of Sikhs in the latter half of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and their contribution by quoting from various historical books. Recalling the contribution of Sikhs in the freedom struggle, Dr. Jaspal Singh gave examples of Gadar movement, Gadar letters and many literary works, newspapers.

 Pro. Seema Bawa, famous painters Satish Gujral, S.L. Parashar and P.N. Made a digital presentation with facts about the pain and horror of Partition through rare pictures of Mago.

 In the successful operation of the program 'Guru Angad Dev Teaching Learning Center' gave remarkable support in digital presentation and operation. The presentation of this programme was done both offline and online.
