Players exhibited their talent on the second day of the competition
Raipur : On the second day of All India Forest Sports Competition 2024, various competitions were organized at Swami Vivekananda Athletic Stadium Kota in Raipur. Chhattisgarh secured seven gold medals by performing in the various events of marathon, swimming, athletics and other sports events. Previously Chhattisgarh has won the title of overall championship for 11 times in the All India Forest Sports Meet.
Nodal Officer Mrs Shalini Raina said that in today's competition, Chhattisgarh’s Sushila Paikra secured first place in the women open category of 400m Walk. While other players who secured first positions includes Sukhnandan Lal Dhruv in 1500 meter race men veteran category, Bharti Sahu in 21 km marathon women open category, Satovisha Samaajdaar in women veteran category in the same event, Satyajit Bhatt in high jump male, Maniram Adile in 100 meter free style swimming and Nikhil Khalkho in 100 meter breast stroke swimming brought laurels to the state. Similarly, apart from Chhattisgarh, the players from other states who secured first positions includes Mr Jai Kumar of Kerala in 100 meter race men senior veteran category, Mr Uthaya Kumar from Tamil Nadu in 5000 meter race men senior veteran category and Mr Sabu M of Kerala in 10,000 meter walk men veteran category.
Smt. Raina told that women players gave brilliantly performance in the marathon held in Nava Raipur. For this, medical checkup was arranged for women participants in Kota stadium on Wednesday. Only those participants whose fitness was diagnosed fit took part in the marathon held Thursday morning.
It is notable that Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the 27th All India Forest Sports Competition on Wednesday. The enthusiasm of the players in this grand is high and players from different states are participating in the competition with full enthusiasm and passion to showcase their sports talent.
