In an effort to provide quality education in English medium to school children, Chief Minister Mr Bhupesh Baghel has initiated the establishment of the Swami Atmanand English Medium Schools in the state. Following the successful establishment of the school, the Department of Higher Education is now gearing up to set up the Swami Atmanand Government English Medium Model Colleges. The department has granted approval for the establishment of four colleges in the state. This significant development will greatly benefit students who receive their school education in the English medium, as they will no longer be required to move to other states for higher education.

The implementation of the announcement made by Chief Minister Mr Bhupesh Baghel in this year's state budget speech is currently underway. Today, the state government has granted permission to commence classes with the approval for the establishment of Swami Atmanand Government English Medium Model College and the creation of new positions. According to the information received from the Department of Higher Education, the main budget for 2023-24 has provisions that include the approval for the establishment of four English medium model colleges. Furthermore, permission has been granted to start classes with the creation of 132 positions, with 33 positions allocated for each college.

1. Swami Atmanand Government English Medium Model College, Korba, District-Korba.

2. Swami Atmanand Government English Medium Model College, Raigarh, District-Raigarh.

3. Swami Atmanand Government English Medium Model College, Bilaspur, District- Bilaspur.

4. Swami Atmanand Government English Medium Model College, Mahasamund, District- Mahasamund.

A total of 132 positions created for the approved colleges

For Principal - 04 positions; For Assistant Professor - 48 positions; For Librarian - 04 positions; For Sports Officer - 04 positions; For Assistant Grade-01 - 04 positions; For Laboratory Technician - 20 positions; For Assistant Grade-02 - 04 positions; For Assistant Grade-03 - 04 positions; For Laboratory Attendant - 20 positions; For Peon - 08 positions; For Book Lifter - 04 positions; For Sweeper - 04 positions; For Security Guard - 04 positions.
