Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai conducted a surprise inspection of Pusaur Paddy Procurement Center, during his Raigarh visit today. At the procurement centre, Chief Minister interacted with the farmers who were there to sell paddy and asked them about their experience as well as grievances. Finance Minister Shri OP Chaudhary, Shri Prabal Pratap Singh Judev were also present during the inspection.

   In response to Chief Minister's question, farmer Parthiv Kedar said that because of untimely rainfall in recent days, he could not sell paddy at the procurement centre, but Chief Minister's decision to extend the last date of procurement has put his worries to rest. He thanked Chief Minister for his  decision in the interest of farmers of the state. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that for the convenience of the farmers, State Government has decided to continue the process of paddy procurement even on holidays i.e. on Saturday and Sunday as well. He said that the difference amount will be paid to the farmers soon. Farmers also expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai for releasing the outstanding paddy bonus of two years. Farmers said that receiving the lump sum amount has provided them major financial relief.

      At the procurement centre, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai inspected the process of paddy procurement from farmers. He got the paddy weighed in front of him and got the moisture measured with a moisture meter. Chief Minister Shri Sai, while directing the officials, said that purchases from farmers should be completed systematically.
       It is noteworthy that due to the sensitive decision of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the last date for paddy procurement has been extended till 4th of February. For the first time in Chhattisgarh, farmers will be able to sell paddy at procurement centers even on Saturdays and Sundays.
