Raipur : The Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly passed the Third Supplementary Demands for Rs 13,487 crore for the financial year 2023–24 by voice vote on Tuesday. Finance Minister Shri OP Chaudhary had tabled the third supplementary demands in the Legislative Assembly on Monday. Following discussions, the third supplementary demands was unanimously passed during the session held on Tuesday.
Following the approval of the third supplementary demands, Finance Minister Shri OP Chaudhary reiterated the state government's commitment to the welfare of the people of the state. He shared that the budget is dedicated to uplifting every section of society. To fulfil the promises made in Prime Minister Modi's Guarantee, the Third Supplementary Demands includes Rs 12,000 crore for the ambitious Krishak Unnati Yojana. This scheme aims to fulfil Modi's promise of procuring paddy at Rs 3100 per quintal and procuring paddy up to 21 quintals per acre. Currently, paddy is being procured at the support price, and the remaining amount will be paid to farmers under the Krishak Unnati Yojana. Shri Chaudhary expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai for his valuable inputs during discussions on the Third Supplementary Demands.
A significant allocation of funds has been made in the Third Supplementary Demands for various welfare schemes in Chhattisgarh. The state government has allocated Rs 200 for Prime Minister Modi's ambitious “Janman Yojana” to enhance connectivity, especially for backward tribes. Additionally, Rs 195 crore is allocated for the National Rural Livelihood Program. Other allocations include Rs 15 crore for the Shri Ramlalla (Ayodhya Dham) Darshan Yojana, Rs 32.32 crore for the Electricity Bill Half Yojana, Rs 350 crore for Ayushman Bharat Jan Arogya Pradhan Mantri Yojana, Rs 15 crore for necessary construction work in CIMS, Rs 20 crore for constructing a Central Library cum Reading Zone in urban areas, and Rs 38 crore for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin).
