Shri Sai Salutes Brave Soldiers: "Your courage keeps us safe"

Raipur : "On October 12, 2017, our unit set out on a patrol in Rajouri-Poonch, an area characterized by rough mountain terrain. Suddenly, we found ourselves ambushed by hidden terrorists, triggering intense gunfire. Swiftly, we retaliated, managing to kill one terrorist. Tragically, we lost our comrades in an IED blast. I sustained a gunshot wound on the head, resulting in the partial detachment of a section of my skull. Even now, my head remains tilted to one side", said Jawan Shri Narendra Kumar.

Emotionally moved by Shri Narendra's trembling recollection, Chief Minister Shri Sai expressed deep empathy and admiration for his courage. Promising immediate financial aid of Rs one lakh, Shri Sai affirmed the state's unwavering support for its brave soilders. "We salute your courage and sacrifice for the motherland. Your courage keeps us safe, and we stand ready to assist you in every possible way," he said.

Six months in coma, gunpowder particles still remain in my body: Shri Narendra

Jawan Shri Narendra Kumar, a resident of Gram-Ganeshpur in Koriya district, met with the Chief Minister at the State Guest House late on Wednesday. Sharing his ordeal, Shri Narendra revealed to the Chief Minister that following the gunshot wound to his head, he was admitted to the Jammu Command Hospital.

"I remained in a coma for nearly six months, drifting in and out of consciousness. My memory was wiped clean, and even my own family remained unrecognizable to me during their visits to the hospital. However, there has been a gradual improvement in my condition since then. At the time of the incident, gunpowder particles entered many parts of my body, some of which are still within, half of my head remains compressed, and my voice still trembles," he recounted.

Praising Shri Narendra's unwavering dedication, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai lauded him for his bravery and valour. "Your determination to serve the nation amidst such adversities is exemplary," he commended. He further extended appreciation to Shri Narendra's family for their unwavering support during his difficult rehabilitation journey.

Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal and Smt. Aarti Marpachchi were also present among others.
