Chief Minister honoured the people for their outstanding work in the field of cooperatives
Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the State Level Krishi Sahkaar Sammelan Evam Samman Samaroh at the 'Krishi Mandapam' of the Agricultural College in Jora, Raipur. He stated that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi recognised the importance of cooperatives and established a separate Ministry of Cooperation to promote prosperity through cooperatives for the upliftment of villages, the poor, and farmers across the country. This demonstrates the significant contribution of cooperatives to the development of rural areas and farmers. The Chief Minister noted that India has a long-standing tradition of cooperatives, and even the biggest tasks can be easily accomplished through cooperative efforts. He emphasised that cooperatives have played a major role in the economic revolution in rural areas. During the event, he met with "Drone Didi" (women drone operators), observed a drone demonstration, and encouraged their efforts. The program also honoured individuals who have done outstanding work in the field of cooperatives.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai extended his best wishes for the Prabhu Jagannath Rath Yatra to everyone, stating that cooperation has always been an integral part of our culture. He emphasised that the country has progressed through mutual cooperation and highlighted the significant role cooperatives played in the development of the state. Shri Sai elaborated on several areas where cooperative efforts have been crucial in Chhattisgarh, including payments to farmers for their paddy crops, the provision of quality seeds and fertilisers, the purchase of minor forest produce in tribal areas, and remuneration to tendu leaf collectors. The Chief Minister stressed that all these activities are being carried out through cooperative mechanisms and noted that cooperatives are now opening new paths to economic prosperity.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai shared several memories related to cooperation while remembering his earlier days. He shared how villagers would spontaneously come forward to help each other, with everyone contributing according to their abilities. "We have all grown up in the midst of cooperation," he stated. Chief Minister expressed his belief that the participants must have learned a great deal during the two-day program dedicated to cooperatives. He noted that subject experts would have provided valuable information over these two days, which will undoubtedly benefit people in the future. Chief Minister Shri Sai mentioned his interaction with the "Drone Didis" (women drone operators). He shared that these women have received training in operating drones. He also mentioned that drone training is now available at the Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekananda Technical University in Bhilai.
Chief Minister highlighted Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's ambitious goal of creating 3 crore "Lakhpati Didis." He mentioned that the Drone Didis are also part of this initiative, with women receiving drone training and embarking on a new journey towards becoming "Lakhpatis." He congratulated all the people who have been honoured for their outstanding work in the cooperative field and extended his best wishes to them.
Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam stated that the government cannot function without cooperation, cooperation cannot exist without culture, and prosperity cannot be achieved without cooperation. Shri Netam highlighted the importance of the cooperative movement in Chhattisgarh, noting that it has brought significant changes to the lives of the poor and farmers. He stressed the need for continued cooperation to make Chhattisgarh capable and advanced, adding that participation is crucial. If everyone understands their responsibility, it will lead to prosperity for both individuals and society.
Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, Member of Parliament, expressed his joy at the opportunity to participate in the event following his election. He extended his best wishes to everyone for the Prabhu Jagannath Rath Yatra. Shri Agrawal highlighted that Chhattisgarh has made significant strides in the field of cooperatives but emphasised that further efforts are needed. He also provided suggestions on how cooperatives can enhance farmers' incomes.
