Special training of MLAs to strengthen leadership capabilities

Raipur : There may be differences among all of us but there should not be any differences of heart and this has always been the case among the members of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly. Development of Chhattisgarh is our main objective and as public representatives, we have to always work dedicatedly in the interest of the people of the state. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said this while addressing the inaugural session of the two-day Public Leadership Program organized today at the Indian Institute of Management, Raipur for the members of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly.

There is no age to learn, continuous improvement in leadership skills is necessary

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi always talks about learning in his Mann Ki Baat program and certainly there is no age to learn. There are many MLAs present here, who have long experience as public representatives, but they are also very excited about this program. Mr. Sai said that the presence of all of you members proves how concerned and excited you are about the development of Chhattisgarh.

Mr. Sai said that as a public representative, your behavior with the common people is the biggest asset and this will strengthen the trust of the people towards you and the parliamentary system.

Training program useful in sharing new solutions and achieving the goal of developed Chhattisgarh 2047

Chief Minister Mr. Sai said that this Public Leadership Program is a strong platform for sharing new solutions and it will prove useful and meaningful in achieving the goal of developed Chhattisgarh 2047. Chief Minister Mr. Sai shared information about the efforts being made by the Chhattisgarh government to establish the concept of good governance. He said that the system of e-office has increased administrative efficiency as well as transparency. The Chief Minister said that if we have to take the state forward, then we have to be equally prepared to deal with all kinds of challenges. He laid special emphasis on the good use of technology in public interest.

Chief Minister Shri Sai also described the Chintan Shivir organized last year at the Indian Institute of Management as extremely useful. He said that whatever we had learned in the Chintan Shivir, we have used it to the fullest in the policy making of Chhattisgarh. It also helped us a lot in preparing the vision document as well as the budget. The Chief Minister asked all the members of the Legislative Assembly to take full advantage of the two-day session and wished the Institute of Management a successful event.

While addressing the Leadership Program, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said that all the members were actively involved in the budget session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly for about 1 month and immediately after that, your presence in this two-day event is commendable. He said that you people must be thinking that why our training after winning? After winning, our responsibility and role increases, so we should keep learning continuously. He said that we have to work not only for our area but also for the betterment of Chhattisgarh.

Dr. Singh said that how aware we are about the environment around us and the national and international scenario, this fact will be important in making you successful as a public representative. He said that you should have the smallest information about your constituency. Dr. Singh shared many experiences related to his tenure as Chief Minister and expressed his views on behavior, connection with the public and winning their trust.

Leader of Opposition Dr. Charandas Manhat said that it would be a wrong notion to think that we became leaders as soon as we became MLAs. Becoming a leader is a process and we have to learn it. He said that a tribal son of Jashpur has become the Chief Minister today after overcoming difficult circumstances, this is the beauty and strength of our democracy. The main objective of all of us is the progress of Chhattisgarh and there is a need to move forward with this.

Members of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, CEO of NITI Aayog Mr. BVR Subramaniam, Director of IIM Raipur Mr. Ram Kumar, Professor of IIM Mr. Sumit Gupta, Professor Mr. Sanjeev Parashar, Professor Mrs. Archana Parashar were present in the program.
