Instructions were given on effective implementation of new criminal laws and quality of crime investigation
Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today reviewed the work of the Home Department at the Secretariat Mahanadi Bhawan, Nava Raipur. Chief Minister Shri Sai directed to give top priority to the effective implementation of the new criminal law Indian Justice Code (BNS) implemented by the Government of India. He said that these laws will not only bring reforms in the justice system, but will also help in creating fear in criminals and confidence in the general public.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that effective understanding of these laws and practical training is essential for the police force, prosecution officers and other related personnel. He directed that workshops and seminars should be organized in a phased manner in all the districts, in which training should be given through case study and mock trial.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister laid special emphasis on making the crime investigation system more effective, scientific and authentic. He said that in criminal cases, not only arrests should be made, but investigation should be completed on the basis of accurate and strong evidence so that the accused can be punished. The Chief Minister also said that investigation officers should be made proficient in the use of modern research techniques, digital forensics, CCTNS system and scientific equipment.
Providing timely justice to the victims is the priority of the state government and for this, transparency, promptness and technical efficiency in the investigation process are essential. In view of the increasing challenge of cyber crimes, Chief Minister Shri Sai also directed to make the cyber cell technically capable and to run a campaign to connect the public with cyber awareness.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Manoj Pingua, Director General of Police Shri Arun Dev Gautam, Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary Shri Rahul Bhagat and other senior officials were present.
