Raipur : Animesh Kujur, a young sprinter from Chhattisgarh, has etched his name into Indian athletics history by setting a new national record in the 100-meter sprint. Competing at the prestigious Dromia International Sprint Meet held in Athens, Greece, Kujur clocked an impressive 10.18 seconds, breaking the previous national record.
Posting on the social media platform ‘X’, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated Kujur on his historic feat. “This is a moment of immense pride and joy for all of us,” the CM wrote, highlighting Animesh’s outstanding performance. He further noted that Kujur had earlier set a national record in the 200-meter race, clocking 20.32 seconds at the Asian Athletics Championship held in South Korea.
“This achievement is not just a milestone in Indian athletics but a source of inspiration for every youth aspiring to push boundaries,” the Chief Minister said. “Chhattisgarh is proud of you, Animesh.”
