Nearly Rs. 10,000 Crore to Be Transferred Directly to Over 25 Lakh Farmers’ Bank Accounts
Raipur : In a significant decision taken in the interest of farmers, the Council of Ministers, chaired by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, approved the one-time transfer of the differential price for paddy procurement at Rs. 3,100 per quintal on February 11. The payment will be credited to farmers’ bank accounts before Holi.
Under this decision, nearly Rs. 10,000 crore will be directly transferred to the accounts of more than 25 lakh farmers across the state.
Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the smiles of the state’s farmers are the government’s greatest strength. He said the government does not merely procure paddy; it considers it its responsibility to ensure fair value for farmers’ hard work and to uphold their dignity. He expressed confidence that this decision will not only provide financial support to farmers but will also enhance the spirit of celebration ahead of Holi.
It is noteworthy that during the Kharif Marketing Year 2025–26, a total of 141.04 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have been procured from 25,24,339 farmers in the state. Under the Krishak Unnati Yojana, more than Rs. 25,000 crore has already been paid to farmers over the past two years as the difference price of paddy. With the additional Rs. 10,000 crore payment before Holi, the cumulative disbursement will exceed Rs. 35,000 crore.
Chief Minister Shri Sai further emphasised that farmers are the soul of the state and the strong foundation of its economy. The prosperity of Chhattisgarh, he said, rests upon the hard work and dedication of its farming community. The state government remains fully committed to ensuring the welfare, respect, and economic empowerment of farmers.
