Limdarha Midway Resort will be a landmark place for tourists to spend leisure time

 First of its kind Midway Resort inaugurated by the Chief Minister Mr. Baghel


The resort will be equipped with beautiful cottages and a restaurant where national and international level cuisine will be available for tourists

The resort is spread over 25 acres of land adjoining the lush and beautiful Keshkal valley on the Raipur-Jagdalpur National Highway.

The resort is built in Khalemurwend, 160 km from Raipur and 140 km from Jagdalpur.

The National Highway from Raipur to Bastar is a very busy route and it was devoid of any good food zone, viewpoints, or resting spots till now where tourists could relax and unwind and continue their journey after consuming hygienic food and spending some quality time in the vicinity of natural beauty. The Limdarha Midway Resort in Khalhemurwend is here to fill this gap. This will be the first fully equipped midway resort of Chhattisgarh, where national and international cuisines will be available. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today inaugurated a one of its kind resort constructed at a cost of Rs 7 crores. On this occasion, Kondagaon MLA Shri Mohan Markam, Keshkal MLA Shri Santram Netam, Antagarh MLA Shri Anoop Nag, Advisor to Chief Minister Shri Rajesh Tiwari and other public representatives were also present. The tourists gathered for the inauguration ceremony suggested that if there was a game zone here, the children will enjoy traveling here even more. On the suggestion of the tourists, the Chief Minister said that soon a game zone would also be developed here.

This resort, built by the district administration of Kondagaon, will act as a refreshment-cum viewpoint spot for travelers. Refreshment and accommodation facilities along with hygienic toilets will be available here. Delicious food items from well-known food chains, as well as beautiful cottages with hygienic toilets will also be available for travelers. Moreover, with the establishment of this resort, employment will also be provided to the local people on a large scale. It is noteworthy that approximately 200 buses and thousands of cars pass through this National Highway every day. Khalhemurvent is 160 km from Raipur and 140 km from Jagdalpur. So, this resort will prove to be a great opportunity for tourists who can use this resort as a pit stop for some time or for an overnight stay in case of long journeys. This will be beneficial for passengers coming from both sides.

         Limdarha Midway Resort is spread over a sprawling lush and green area of 25 acres adjacent to the Limdarha culvert, so tourists can also enjoy delicious meals with the view of the canal and the greenery of the surrounding areas. Although the water of this culvert used to dry up in summer, but due to the Narva project of the state government, it now has ample water throughout the year. This resort is divided into three parts. The first part is the food zone, which has 10 shops, and  will be available to people with a variety of food options. Another dining restaurant with a beautiful view of the culvert and the facility of staying in cottages will be available. Four shops have been allotted in the third part in which shops like C-mart, and Shabari will be present where items related to daily life will be sold. The resort’s staff are all locals. Out of these, 50 youth will be recruited in the first year. The number of employees will be 100 in the second year and 150 in the third year and 200 by the fourth year.

It is noteworthy that Bastar is developing rapidly as a tourist hotspot. Keshkal Ghat is the gateway to Bastar. Limdarha Midway Resort is adjacent to Keshkal Ghat. Its 40 cottages will be built in a couple of years and tourists will also get the facility to stay here. In the next six months, tourists will also be able to avail the facility of the convention hall. Limdarha will be managed on the PPP model. Grand Imperia will be responsible for running and managing the property. It is a hotel chain based in Raipur which got this project by participating in the auction. The rent for the whole year will be Rs 10 lakh 51 thousand, which will be given to the district administration by the private management. This amount will be used to increase employment opportunities for the local people. The biggest feature of Limdarha Midway Resort is that the tourist's entry to the food zone and toilet will always be free.
