Sub district status given to Lakhanpuri

Many announcements were made including construction of 62 Devgudi and 24 Ghotul in Bhanupratappur, Durgukondal and Charama development blocks.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel attended the Rajiv Mitan Club members program and Mahila Shakti Sammelan organized at Charama, Tehsil Headquarters of Kanker district today. On this occasion, development works worth Rs 183 crore 06 lakh were inaugurated by him and Bhoomi Pujan was performed, for 35 development works worth Rs 64 crore 22 lakh and 40 works worth Rs 118 crore 84 lakh were inaugurated. Addressing the Rajiv Mitan Club members and Mahila Shakti Sammelan,  Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that the state government is working expeditiously to provide all the basic facilities - roads, electricity, water, health, education etc. to the citizens. Fresh food is being provided to children and mothers to fight malnutrition. Patients are getting treatment in Haat-bazaars under Mukhyamantri Haat-Bazaar Clinic Yojna, it started from Bastar division, which has been implemented across the state. The malaria-free Bastar campaign has also yielded fruitful results, due to which a significant reduction has been found in the cases of vomiting-diarrhoea, malaria. He said that Shree Dhanwantri Medical Stores have been opened to provide branded medicines to the citizens at cheap rates. Special attention is also being given in the field of education. Swami Atmanand English medium schools have been opened in all the development blocks, now Swami Atmanand Hindi medium schools are being opened in the districts. He said that establishment of medical college in Kanker is a big achievement; there will be no shortage of doctors here. Farmers are reaping the benefits under Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. Under Godhan Nyay Yojana, cow dung is being purchased for Rs.02/kg, other states of the country are also adopting this scheme. He said that vermi compost is being made from cow dung, which will become an alternative to chemical manure. He said that a target has been set to prepare 20 lakh metric tonnes of vermi compost this year. Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that the farmers of Chhattisgarh have become financially strong due to the implementation of these farmer friendly schemes.

He further said that every year Rs. 01 lakh is being provided to Rajiv Mitan Club, through these clubs, the work of preserving culture will be done by organizing activities like sports, Teej-festivals, etc. Relevant information related to employment will also be given. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel handed over the keys of e-rickshaw for garbage collection and segregation to Ishwari self-help group and Udkuda Jogi self-help group of village Tarasgaon in Charama development block. Nari Jagran Women's Self-Help Group Gotitola and Annapurna Women's Self-Help Group Kurrubhat were given a check of Rs. 01-01 lakh for grocery business. 

Sub Tehsil Status to Lakhanpuri

In the Rajiv Mitan Club Member and Mahila Shakti Sammelan held at Charama, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel announced the grant of sub-tehsil status to Lakhanpuri village of Charama tehsil. Rs. 02 crore 80 lakh for construction of 14 nos. of compost warehouse building in Bhanupratappur, Durgukondal and Charama development blocks and Rs. 03 crore 41 lakh for construction of 62 Devgudi in the above three development blocks, Rs. 02 crore 64 lakh for construction of 24 Ghotuls, Rs. 01 crore 25 lakh for construction of 25 theaters, Rs. 03 crore 65 lakh for construction of 73 community buildings and Rs. 01 lakh for renovation and beautification of Sarama pond of Charama, and announced to sanction Rs 34 lakh for construction of CC road, platform and gate in Swami Atmanand English Medium School Charama.

The Deputy Speaker of Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha Shri Manoj Mandavi also addressed the program. He said that the Chhattisgarh government is working in the interest of villages, rural farmers and tribals. Work is being done to preserve the culture here. Through Narva, Garwa, Ghurva, Bari, work is being done to strengthen the villagers financially, as well as attention is being paid to water conservation. Ghotul and Devgudi are being constructed in Bastar division to preserve the culture of tribals. 

District In-Charge Minister Mrs. Anila Bhediya said that women and didi of various self help groups are doing good work in Chhattisgarh; help is also being provided to them by the government for self-employment. He said that the youth of Chhattisgarh should be well educated and informed so that one should not only just get a job but is able to  create work opportunities for others as well, so that there is no shortage of work for the coming generation. He said that many schemes are being run by the Chhattisgarh government, whose benefits are being given to the people. With the Mukhyamantri Haat-Bazaar Clinic scheme, the facility of treatment has reached the doorstep of the house. Medical college has also been established in Kanker district, which will benefit the residents of the area.

Parliamentary Secretary and Kanker MLA Shri Shishupal Shori, Antagarh MLA Shri Anoop Nag, Member of Gau-Seva Commission Shri Narendra Yadav also addressed the program. On this occasion, member of Scheduled Tribes Commission Mr. Nitin Potai, President of Zilla Panchayat Mr. Hemant Dhruv, President of Sukma District Panchayat Mr. Harish Kawasi, Member of Bastar Development Authority Mr. Biresh Thakur, Vice-Chairman of Zilla Panchayat Mr. Hemnarayan Gajballa,People's representatives including former President of District Panchayat Mrs. Subhadra Salam, IG Bastar Sundarraj P., DIG Mr. Balaji Rao, Collector Kanker Mr. Chandan Kumar, Superintendent of Police Mr. Shalabh Kumar Sinha, Additional Collector Mr. Surendra Prasad Vaidya, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Panchayat Mr. Sumit Aggarwal including officers-employees and villagers were present in large numbers
