Chhattisgarh fought through the COVID crisis with collective efforts and mutual cooperation. And the sacrifice of the doctors who lost their lives while saving COVID patients can never be forgotten. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel was addressing the doctors and the representatives of social organizations present at the Doctor's Day Award Ceremony organized by Indian Medical Association at his residence office today. On the occasion of Doctor's Day, Chief Minister garlanded the portrait of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Rai and spoke about his remarkable contribution in the field of medicine. Mr. Baghel said that despite his remarkable constribution in politics as well as in other fields, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Rai preferred to call himself a doctor.
Chief Minister said in his address to the ceremony that Doctors are considered next to God, some even call them equivalent to God, and no one else can serve human beings better than doctors. Mr. Baghel said that the resassuring words and smile of a doctor can take away half the pain of the patient. A doctor's behaviour plays an important role in the healing journey of an ailing patient. On this occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel felicitated 24 doctors for their excellent work in different parts of Chhattisgarh during the Covid transition period. Chief Minister also honored 9 social organizations for serving people during the Covid transition period. On this occasion, Dr. AR Bhalla, Dr. Lalit Shah, Dr. Vinay Makhija were given Life Time Achievement Award by IMA for their remarkable contribution in the field of medicine.
At the onset, Dr. Vikas Agarwal, President, IMA welcomed Chief Minister with a state scarf. Dr. Anil Jain spoke on the biography of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Rai, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Digvijay Singh, Secretary, IMA. Addressing the program, Dr. Rakesh Gupta, President, Hospital Board of IMA thanked Chief Minister for the decisions taken in the interest of doctors and also said that Mr. Bhupesh Baghel is a true ally of the doctors.
Advisors to Chief Minister Mr. Vinod Verma and Mr. Pradeep Sharma, Director of Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation, Dr. Vinay Jaiswal were also present in the program.
