Women from self-help-groups share their experiences with Chief Minister

 

Women expressed gratitude for implementing 'Godhan Nyay Yojna' and said" Now, We are not dependent on anyone for our needs.

 

In his mammoth 'Bhent and Mulaqat' tour campaign, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel reached the village of Ramnagar in the Premnagar constituency and paid a visit to the Kharsura Gauthan. He held extensive conversations with the women of self-help groups associated with this Gauthan. These women informed him that they have stable work and income after the establishment of these state-run gauthans and they don't need to depend on anyone for their needs, they have become self-sufficient with the income generated by  Gauthan. The women thanked Mr. Baghel for the implementation of Godhan Nyay Yojna which has not only created mass employment but has also provided home to stray cattle.

The 40 women associated with the Kharsura Gauthan told the Chief Minister that their Gauthan has become a center for self-employment for them. From Cow-dung based Vermicompost to numerous livestock rearing activities like poultry farming, and goat farming, to manufacturing cow-dung-based products like incense sticks, pots, diyas, etc. These women said that it is under the leadership of Mr. Baghel, that they got work, got recognition, and could become financially self-sufficient. On hearing this, while encouraging the women, the Chief Minister said that it is the result of all your hard work that you are able to help your family financially. Along with making herself financially strong, she is able to contribute to the family's strength as well.

It is worth mentioning that in Chhattisgarh, the state government has started the Godhan Nyay Yojana. Under this scheme, Adarsh ​​Gauthans are being built across the state. These Gauthans are also being developed as Rural Industrial Parks. Where not only cattle have got shelter, but employment is also being created for the people.

Various activities being conducted in Gauthans:

During the discussion with the Chief Minister, the women of self-help groups told that products like vermicompost, cow-dung based -wood,  super compost, super plus compost, lamps, and pots are being made from cow dung in Gauthan. Moreover, fisheries, poultry, and Many sources of income have also been developed by conducting activities like goat rearing, mushroom production, and vegetable farming. Apart from this, pulse milling has also been established so that villagers do not have to go to other cities for milling pulses.

The women associated with Kharsura Gauthan told that in the initial days, they were making different types of products including vermicompost from cow dung only, but other opportunities were also explored for additional sources of income. During this, guidance and financial support were also provided at the government level. After this, a pond for fish farming was constructed in the Gothan complex itself. At the same time, a bari was built for vegetable production where many types of fresh vegetables ranging from bottle-gourd, ladyfinger, onion, cucumber, and watermelon are being produced and sold in the market. The women of Kharsura Gauthan also presented a basket full of vegetables to Chief Minister Mr. Baghel. The Chief Minister urged them to supply the vegetables being produced in Gauthan to the nearby ashrams and hostels. 
Electricity will be produced from cow dung, and income to increase even more:
Talking to the women of Gauthan, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that till now women are getting income by making products including vermicompost from cow dung in the state. Now electricity will be generated from cow dung and women will also get additional income from this.
