Raipur : The declaration of result of Police Recruitment Examination on Monday brought great sense of joy among the candidates who were waiting for the result of Subedar, Sub Inspector and Platoon Commander examination for a long time. The results of this examination were declared on the special initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai.

In this examination, 959 youth have been selected for the posts of Subedar, Sub Inspector and Platoon Commander. Overwhelmed by the declaration of the result, the candidates met Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai at Nava Raipur Circuit House on same day and expressed their gratitude to him. Out of the total selected candidates around 40 candidates were present on this occasion.

They expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Sai by garlanding him with flowers and feeding him sweets.

The happiness of the grandson and granddaughter-in-law of elderly Smt. Dularbai Dewangan, who came from Bhilai, was visible on her face. She expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister for the initiative of result’s declaration. She blessed her grandson Shri Tilak Dewangan and granddaughter-in-law Smt. Bharti Dewangan for being selected.

Chief Minister Shri Sai congratulated and wished the selected candidates and said, “This Diwali will be festive of joy for all the selected candidates. You all should celebrate the happiness of your selection. Light lamps on Diwali and even on State Foundation Day.”

Chief Minister motivated the selected candidates saying that you all are going to take up a major responsibility. “As the security provider and proctor of the public, you have the responsibility of the safety of the public. Along with facing the Naxalite challenge, you also have the responsibility of maintaining law and order,” said Shri Sai.

He expressed hope that after training, the selected candidates will discharge their duties with full devotion and honesty.

The Chief Minister said that appointment letters have also been distributed to 83 Assistant Engineers of Water Resources Department on Monday. The recruitment process will continue for various posts in future as well.

He said that the state government is working in compliance to the Prime Minister's resolution of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas. The cooperation of all will build a developed Chhattisgarh and a developed India. Chief Minister said that the selected candidates can join the Chandrakhuri Police Training Academy. He also said that on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Run for Unity is being organized on Tuesday in advance due to Diwali and urged people to participate in it.

Water Resources Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap said that you people have got the opportunity to serve the country. Selected candidates will serve Chhattisgarh and the country, as well as work to curb illegal activities.

Nitin, the candidate selected in this examination, expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and said that due to his efforts, the happiness of festivals has doubled as the result of the examination was declared before Diwali. Selected candidate Ms Nidhi said, “Declaration of the result has brought immense joy for the selected candidates. Thank you very much on behalf of all the selected people.”

On this occasion, ADGP Shri SRP Kalluri, Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Rahul Bhagat, Secretary of Water Resources Department Shri Rajesh Sukumar Toppo and senior officers of the police department were present.

It is worth noting that this recruitment process started in 2018. The interview was held in August-September last year, since then the candidates were waiting for the result.

Raipur : President Smt. Droupadi Murmu visited the newly constructed Chief Minister’s residence in Sector 24, Nava Raipur, on October 26. Upon her arrival, she received a traditional welcome from Governor Shri Ramen Deka, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, First Lady of the State Smt. Rani Deka Kakoti, Chief Minister’s wife Smt. Kaushalya Devi Sai, and other family members. During her visit, President Smt. Murmu enjoyed a warm interaction with the Chief Minister's family, followed by a group photo session with everyone present. She extended blessings to the children and presented them with books from the Rashtrapati Bhawan and chocolates. In her honour, Chief Minister Shri Sai hosted a luncheon at his residence.

Raipur : In a commitment towards prioritizing better healthcare services and facilities within the state, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has strong focus on strengthening the healthcare system. In this league, a super specialty hospital Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) built at a cost of Rs 200 crore will be inaugurated in Bilaspur on Tuesday. The newly developed hospital CIMS will be virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During which the Chief Minister Shri Sai will also be present in this program.

As per health officials, this hospital will start in three phases. In its first phase the facilities of OPD, ward and ICCU, dialysis unit will be started followed by starting of lab, cath lab in second phase and operation theatre, cardiac and lumbar machines will be started in the third phase and the hospital will start fully functional in the fourth phase. The launch of this hospital will also prove beneficial for the patients of nearby districts including of Surguja division. They may not depend on hospitals in Raipur and would avail better treatment facilities nearby.

In compliance of state government’s vision of holistic progress, Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal is constantly making efforts at the central level to introduce national level institutions in the field of healthcare.

In this regard, a 100-bed Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy (CRIYN) will be launched in Raipur and Tuesday Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will virtually lay its foundation stone.

Sharing information over CRIYN, Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that the construction of this institute will be completed in 24 months at a cost of Rs 90 crore. State government has provided 10 acres of land to the AYUSH department for this institute. This will be Chhattisgarh's first yoga and naturopathy research center and hospital which will provide treatment facilities for non-communicable diseases. The center will also conduct training certification courses in wellness therapy and fellowship courses in research. Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has urged residents of Chhattisgarh to remain vigilant against increasing incidents of cyber fraud. During his address, he highlighted the alarming rise in such scams, which was also noted by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in today’s 'Mann Ki Baat' program, emphasizing the need for public awareness.

The Chief Minister warned that fraudsters are now employing sophisticated tactics, often impersonating family members in phone conversations to deceive individuals. He stressed that even educated citizens are falling victim to these scams, sometimes leading to devastating consequences, including financial loss and in severe consequences and suicide.

Shri Sai reassured the public that the government is actively implementing measures to enhance cyber security and conducting awareness campaigns to protect citizens from fraud. He urged everyone to exercise caution when receiving suspicious calls or messages and to refrain from sharing personal information.

Raipur : The 14th convocation was a momentous day for the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur on Friday. In a ceremony filled with pride and celebration, President Smt. Draupadi Murmu personally conferred gold medals to 12 talented students, honouring their remarkable academic achievements.

Governor Shri Ramen Deka, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and Union Minister of State Shri Tokhan Sahu also attended the convocation as special guests. During the NIT convocation today at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur, degrees were conferred upon 1,439 students who graduated, completed their postgraduate studies, or earned their PhDs in the 2023-24 academic year. This group included 1,044 students from the B.Tech. and B.Arch. programs, 225 from the MCA and M.Tech. programs, and 170 doctoral candidates.

In her address, President Smt. Draupadi Murmu emphasized that students are transitioning to an important new phase in their lives, having earned recognition through hard work and talent. She acknowledged the vital support from families and guidance from professors in their success. Addressing the convocation, President Smt Murmu said, “India's remarkable achievements in digital inclusion have astonished the world. Our nation possesses the potential and resources to demonstrate even more such successes. Institutions like NIT Raipur and enthusiastic youth like you should be eager to explore these possibilities and bring them to fruition.”

Smt. Murmu quoted anecdote of former President Dr Abdul Kalam, who earned fame by using science and technology for security and social welfare of the country.

In her convocation address, President Mrs. Murmu highlighted the India Semiconductor Mission, launched three years ago to establish the country as a global semiconductor manufacturing hub. She emphasized the industry's significance for economic growth, national security, and technological self-reliance, noting that it offers numerous opportunities for young engineers in employment and startups. She praised the innovative enterprises created by talented engineers and expressed confidence that their efforts will contribute to building a developed India and enhancing the country’s global standing.

In his address at the convocation Governor Ramen Deka celebrated the historic occasion, recognizing the years of hard work and academic challenges they faced, the friendships they built, and the shared experiences that led them to this moment. He extended his congratulations and best wishes to all the students receiving their degrees.

“The whole world will be looking towards these students to use engineering and technology skills to solve unresolved global problems like climate change, poverty, global hunger, gender discrimination, unequal income, unemployment,” said Governor Deka.

During the convocation ceremony at the NIT, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai hailed President Smt. Draupadi Murmu's visit and expressed gratitude for the President's two-day commitment to supporting the talents and citizens of Chhattisgarh. The Chief Minister congratulated all graduates, postgraduates, and PhD recipients, emphasizing that this day marks not only the attainment of degrees but also the beginning of their journey to contribute their knowledge and skills to the country and society.

The Chief Minister highlighted that Chhattisgarh is primarily an agriculture-based state, with many residents in villages and forests facing various deprivations. He emphasized that the knowledge and skills of graduates can significantly improve the lives of these underserved communities. He noted the state's rich natural resources and potential for industrial development, underscoring the importance of their contributions in this area. The Chief Minister reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a developed India by 2047, stressing that achieving a developed Chhattisgarh is only possible with the active involvement of the graduates.

Chief Minister Shri Sai announced that India is on track to become the third-largest economy globally, with Chhattisgarh poised for significant economic growth. He highlighted the implementation of the new National Education Policy in the state, focusing on skill development alongside knowledge. This initiative aims to prepare a technically skilled and entrepreneurial youth generation. The government is modernizing 160 industrial training institutes and rapidly expanding transportation and communication networks. Chief Minister emphasized the potential of the youth to drive development in Chhattisgarh. A traditional bamboo and chhind leaf house illustrates the daily life of the Pando tribe, featuring a sacred space for deity worship. The wooden structure of the Pahari Korwa tribe’s home displays intricate deity carvings, reflecting their religious devotion. Additionally, the Samat Sarna Shiv Temple, reconstructed in the block, replicates Dipadih's ancient temple ruins, dating from the 7th to the 13th century, offering a glimpse into the region's archaeological and religious significance. A replica of Baikunthpur Palace from Koriya district, built in 1946 and a fine example of Indian architecture, also adds to the historical richness of the block.

The block further features the Madia Khamba, a symbolic pillar central to tribal ceremonies and worship for the Madia tribe. Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai reviewed the preparations for Rajyotsav 2024 in his residence office on Thursday. Rajyotsav is being organized from November 4th to November 6th at Rajyotsav Sthal in Naya Raipur. n completion of 24 years of statehood celebrations, Chief Minister's Shri Sai has appealed to people of the state to celebrate Rajyotsav with Deepotsav by lighting lamps in their homes on November 1st.

As per the planning for grand celebration, around 10,000 lamps will be lit in Nava Raipur, Atalnagar.

Bus facility will be available for the general public to travel to the Rajyotsav site.

Transport facility will be provided to the general public at concessional rates to travel to the Rajyotsav site in Naya Raipur. During Rajyotsav, cultural programs will be organized every evening at the venue.

Bollywood singers including Shaan and Neeti Mohan and Indian Idol winners Pawandeep and Arunidita will be the center of attraction in the cultural evening.

A program of Bollywood singer Shri Shantanu Mukherjee (Shaan) has been organized on November 4 in the cultural evening, while Neeti Mohan's program will held on November 5.

The Chief Minister presented gifts to five children, who were treated under the Navjeevan Uphaar scheme at Satya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday inaugurated the Sri Satya Sai Nursing College at Satya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital campus located at Atalnagar, Nava Raipur. Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh and Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal were also present on the occasion. During the program, the newly admitted students of B.Sc. Nursing graduates took their oath during the lamp lighting ceremony, pledging to serve humanity and uphold their commitment to duty.

Appreciating the contribution of Shri Satya Sai Trust, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that this hospital has been built on the land of Mata Kaushalya and the maternal home of Lord Rama with the blessings of Satya Sai Baba. Its objective is to serve humanity. He said that the hospital has accomplished free of cost complex cardiac surgeries of more than 33000 children suffering from congenital heart disease. The hospital has conducted health checkup of more than three lakh children in OPD. This has attributed a recognition to Chhattisgarh in the country and abroad.

Shri Sai honored the specialist doctors of the hospital with Dhanvantri Award for this achievement. Appreciating efforts of Sanjeevani Hospital, the Chief Minister said that there is no cash counter in this hospital, people return happily after getting free of cost treatment.

Chief Minister said that this hospital was inaugurated on 21 February on his birthday and on this occasion he received direct blessings from Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Satya Sai Trust will now also provide free education, accommodation and food facilities to nursing students.

Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh said, “During my tenure, I have been a direct witness to laying of its foundation stone and construction of the hospital as the Chief Minister, this is an emotional moment for me. Due to the commitment of Satya Sai Trust, the construction of the hospital was completed within a year. A large number of people from the country as well as abroad come to get treatment for congenital heart disease of children.”

Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal also praised Satya Sai Trust and called it an institution dedicated to the service of humanity. He said that with the start of the nursing college, the girl students will get free accommodation and food arrangements.

In the program, President of Satya Sai Sanjeevani Trust Shri C Srinivas highlighted the services of free treatment of heart diseases of newborn children and discussed the future objectives of the trust. Under the 'Navjeevan Uphaar' program organized daily at Satya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital, on Thursday five children who have become completely healthy were given gifts and best wishes by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and they were discharged from the hospital.

During this program, it was told that after the death of Shri Prakhar Sahu, a child of Korba district, in an accident, his body was donated by his parents. The heart valve of this child was implanted in a child, which gave a new lease of life to the child.

This child has become completely healthy and was discharged from the hospital on Thursday. While felicitating Prakhar's parents, the Chief Minister appreciated their humanitarian initiative and called it inspirational for the society.

The Chief Minister congratulated the recovered children and their families and congratulated the team of Sanjivani Hospital for this wonderful service. Distributes cheques worth Rs 24 Lakhs to four Women Self-Help Groups

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday inaugurated a new branch of UCO Bank in the village Bhelwan, located within the Farasabahar development block, from the Camp Office Bagiya. During the event, he presented a cheque of Rs 24 lakhs to 40 members of women's self-help groups.

Chief Minister congratulated the villagers on the establishment of the new banking facility, stating, "This step is significant for financial inclusion and will greatly benefit the residents of Farasabahar and surrounding areas. Women will also be empowered to become self-reliant. Local residents will now have enhanced access to banking services for their daily needs."

He presented cheques of Rs 6 lakhs each to women from four self-help groups of Joranda Jharia of Farasabahar development block, bringing the total disbursed amount to Rs 24 lakhs. Chief Minister congratulated the women on receiving the cheques. It is worth mentioning that under his initiative, various efforts are underway to connect women with employment opportunities. They are making strides in vegetable farming and business, and many are achieving self-reliance by engaging in activities related to pickle-making, papad production, and sericulture.

A Meaningful Initiative to Connect Women Self-Help Groups with Employment

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today distributed power kits to 21 Bijli Sakhis from self-help groups in Bagicha development block during a ceremony held at the Chief Minister's Camp Office, Bagia. On this occasion, Chief Minister congratulated and extended best wishes to all the women and encouraged them to work diligently. Mrs. Kaushalya Sai, the Chief Minister's wife, was also present at the event.

It is noteworthy that a meaningful initiative is being undertaken in Jashpur district to boost the income of women from self-help groups by providing them with employment. The Bijli Sakhi Scheme is being implemented as a pilot project through the combined efforts of the district administration and the Janpad Panchayat Bagicha. Under this scheme, women have been trained in essential skills.

Shortage of meter readers in the electricity department has been causing difficulties for consumers, delaying meter readings, leading to higher electricity bill payments. To address this issue, the district administration has trained self-help group women in meter reading, designating them as Bijli Sakhis. These Bijli Sakhis will ensure regular meter readings for electricity consumers, allowing them to receive their electricity bills on time and pay lower amounts.

Additionally, for each meter reading conducted at a household, the Bijli Sakhis will be compensated Rs 12 by the electricity department. This initiative not only provides employment to these women but also ensures a stable income, potentially increasing the number of "Lakhpati Didis" in the Janpad area. As part of the pilot project, 21 women have been appointed as Bijli Sakhis in Jashpur, with a target to train and employ 300 women as Bijli Sakhis in the district.

At the Chief Minister's Camp Office in Bagiya today, Shri Sai handed over cheques worth Rs 6 lakhs each to four beneficiaries for providing employment to 40 women members of self help groups.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai's Government is taking consollidated steps to generate employment opportunities for women. Vegetable farming, business of pickles, papad, silk department's treasury work and other such livelihood opportunities have made women self-reliaant. Fish Farmers appealed for Registration

Raipur : Registration on the National Fisheries Development Portal (NFDP) has been made mandatory for fish farmers to avail the benefits under various components of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samriddhi Sah Yojana, a scheme implemented by the Central Government. Director of Fisheries, Mr. Narayan Singh Nag, stated that the primary aim of the NFDP is to formalize the fisheries sector in India by creating a work-based identification database for all fish farmers, fisheries groups, and fishery committees. In the future, registration on NFDP will be required to access all schemes operated under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samriddhi Sah Yojana related to fisheries.

Through this initiative, all individuals engaged in fish farming, fishing, and fish trade will be able to register via Choice Centers. Mr. Nag further explained that if all members of a family are involved in fish farming, each member will need to register individually. Following registration and verification by the Fisheries Department, Rs 80 will be credited to the registered individual's bank account by the government, while the Common Service Center will receive a commission of Rs 18 per entry.

For registration, fish farmers are required to visit a Choice Center with their Aadhaar card, bank passbook, and Aadhaar-linked mobile number. An OTP received on the Aadhaar-linked mobile number is mandatory for the registration process. Initially, a provisional certificate will be issued, which will be replaced with a permanent certificate upon verification by the Fisheries Department. The registration process for fish farmers on the NFDP has already commenced across all districts of the state. The Director of Fisheries has urged all fish farmers in the state to complete their registration on the NFDP.

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai is chairing a meeting of the Surguja Area Tribal Development Authority today at Mayali, a popular tourist destination in Jashpur district. Upon arriving at Kharsa View Point, the Chief Minister and all guests were warmly welcomed with traditional bamboo hats and garlands made of Dumbar fruit and mango leaves, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of the Karma dance and traditional musical instruments such as the Dhaak and Nagada. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and other guests traveled to the meeting venue by boat, enjoying the scenic beauty of the Mayali Nature Camp.

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday convened a meeting of the Surguja Area Tribal Development Authority in Mayali of Jashpur district. In the presence of the members of the Authority and the secretaries of major departments, the Chief Minister reviewed the progress of works approved under the Tribal Development Authority and directed the completion of ongoing works and cancelled the projects that had not yet begun.

In order to take effect measures for development, Chief Minister appealed the members of the Authority to discuss problems of their areas and give proposals of their demands. He directed the concerned departments to resolve the problems informed by the members in the meeting. On the demand of MLA Mrs Renuka Singh, the Chief Minister announced to increase the budget amount of Sarguja Area Tribal Development Authority from Rs 50 crores to Rs 75 crores. He also announced to give an amount of Rs 10 crores to promote tourism in Mayali.

Addressing the meeting of the Authority, Chief Minister Mr Sai said that the state is being developed in all aspects since the time of former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh. He had formed an Authority for development in the tribal areas and provided resources. At present, there are five authorities in Chhattisgarh.

“Our government wants development from Bastar to Sarguja area. For this, if there is no amount in the budget, necessary work will be done through the formed Authority. The Government of India and the State Government want development of all sections of the state including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes,” said Shri Sai.

The pace of development will be further increased by arranging resources in these areas through the authority. He said that the Prime Minister of the country, Shri Narendra Modi, has made provision for development in the tribal areas through PM Janman and Dharti Aba Gram Utkarsh Yojana. These schemes will speed up development work in all areas of the state. Chief Minister Shri Sai said, “State government has focused on the development of tribal areas in the budget. Our government will work with commitment for the development of Bastar and Surguja division area,” said Shri Sai.

The Chief Minister praised the preparations made by the district administration for the meeting of the authority in Mayali of Jashpur district and said that Jashpur district has the availability of forest and forest produce along with the reserves of mineral resources.

Chief Minister advocates for value addition to forest products to boost local economy and tourism. Chief Minister Shri Sai emphasized the importance of enhancing the value of forest produce and key local products to benefit villagers and farmers. He urged senior officials from Raipur to explore these products, utilize them, and promote the region, highlighting the significant tourist potential of Jashpur district. The Chief Minister's initiative aims to foster economic growth and bolster tourism in the area.

While addressing Authority members' concerns Chief Minister Shri Sai talked about resolving their problems pointed out in the meeting. He talked about examining the demand for starting a sugarcane purchase center in Lundra-Batouli area, working towards providing electricity to areas without electricity, taking necessary steps to prevent loss of life due to elephants and considering increasing the amount of damage.

On the complaint of people receiving high electricity bills including those with single light connection, the Chief Minister directed Energy Secretary Shri Rohit Yadav to examine and resolve the complaints related to electricity bills. He directed the Secretary of the Food Department to resolve the complaints related to shortage of ration at some places in Jashpur district. On this occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated the divisional office of Water Resources Division in Kunkuri by pressing the remote.

Concession Agreement signed between Bhilai Municipal Corporation, Chhattisgarh Biofuel Authority and Bharat Petroleum

Raipur : In compliance with Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai’s vision of developed Chhattisgarh, a tripartite concession agreement was signed on Monday between Bhilai Municipal Corporation, Chhattisgarh Biofuel Development Authority and Bharat Petroleum Corporation aiming to promote the production of biofuel - Compressed Biogas (CBG) from urban solid waste.

A tripartite concession agreement is a contract involving three parties, structured to facilitate a partnership with shared roles and responsibilities among the parties.

As per officials, this agreement has been made under the Sustainable Scheme in Chhattisgarh, under which Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) will set up a CBG plant by investing 100% of the amount of Rs 60 crore in the trenching ground Jamul under Bhilai Municipal Corporation.

The establishment of this plant will enable the conversion of approximately 150 metric tonnes of solid waste generated daily in the Municipal Corporation of Bhilai and surrounding municipal corporations in Durg district into biofuel. Additionally, the plant is expected to generate 30,000 man-days of employment each year, both directly and indirectly.

Organic manure obtained as a co-product in the compressed biogas plant will encourage organic farming. The establishment of the plant will reduce the emission of greenhouse gas resulting in clean environment. Eventually, use of CBG the state will move towards net zero emission. Recognizing the significant potential for producing biofuels, including compressed biogas from urban solid waste, the Chhattisgarh Biofuel Development Authority has made continuous efforts to advance this initiative.

On March 13, 2024, a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao. This agreement involved the Municipal Corporations of Raipur and Bhilai, the CBDA and BPCL to establish two compressed biogas plants. Subsequently, a tripartite concession agreement was signed on Monday, October 21, between the Municipal Corporation of Bhilai, CBDA, and BPCL.

On this occasion, Collector Durg Ms Richa Prakash Chaudhary, CEO of Chhattisgarh Biofuel Mr Sumit Sarkar, Biofuel Head of BPCL Mumbai Mr Anil Kumar P, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Bhilai Mr Bajrang Dubey, other senior officials of BPCL and Energy Department were present.

Raipur : On the inauguration ceremony of Maa Mahamaya Airport in Ambikapur’s Darima, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi participated virtually from Varanasi on Sunday. On seeing his virtual presence for people of Chhattisgarh, the residents of Surguja greeted the prime minister with enthusiastic applause.

Airport has been launched under Regional Connectivity Scheme

The air strip at Maa Mahamaya Airport in Darima, Ambikapur has been upgraded under the Regional Connectivity Scheme of the Government of India. This airport is sprawled across 365 acres and has been built at a cost of Rs 80 crore. This airport is of three commercial Visual Flight Rules category and 72 seater aircraft can land on it. The terminal building has been expanded according to the estimated capacity of 5 lakh passengers annually.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said, “Our visionary Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji is starting a new era of development in the Tribal dominated Surguja region by inaugurating Maa Mahamaya Airport of Ambikapur today.”

He said that this airport connects to the aspirations of the community of Surguja. The people here have been longing for years to see a development that this tribal region will also be connected to the rest of the country through air connectivity. The time has come for their dream to be fulfilled. As per the Prime Minister’s wishes the dream of air travel is becoming a reality for those who wear slippers across the country.

The vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is to establish better aviation services in the country and connect all parts of the country with it.

Chief Minister said that the inauguration of this airport is a great news for Surguja as well as the entire Chhattisgarh. This airport will connect two big tribal divisions- Bastar and Surjua along with Raipur and Bilaspur. During the tenure of Prime Minister Shri Modi, continuous steps have been taken to intensify air connectivity in Chhattisgarh. The number of facilities and flights have also increased at Jagdalpur, Raipur and Bilaspur airports.

During the inauguration Chhattisgarh Governor Shri Ramen Deka said, “Today is a historic day for the Surguja region, with the opening of Maa Mahamaya Airport, new dimensions of development will open in this region. A better air connectivity will be established for the citizens and industrialists of the Surguja region. After Bastar, Surguja is the second largest tribal dominated area of the state, where this facility is being started.”
