On CM’s Initiative, Poonam Receives Books and a New Tablet

Raipur : Thanks to the initiative of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the preparation of flood-affected Poonam Patel from Dantewada for the civil services will now continue without interruption. Living in a Naxal-affected area like Dantewada, Poonam has been preparing for the UPSC examinations for the last three years. Following the recent floods in Dantewada, her entire family has been living in a relief camp. Today, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met Poonam and enquired about her well-being. On the CM’s instructions, Poonam has been provided with essential books and a new tablet for her competitive exam preparation. This ensures that her UPSC studies will face no further obstacles.

Poonam Patel, a resident of Churitikara Para Ward in Dantewada district, has been pursuing UPSC preparations for the past three years. In the recent floods, her house was damaged and all household belongings were swept away. Poonam said that all her books were washed away in the floodwaters and her tablet was also ruined. She added that her father, Santosh Patel, runs a grocery shop to support the family, and from his meagre income he had painstakingly saved every rupee to buy her a tablet for UPSC preparation. With her books and tablet destroyed in the floods, Poonam had become extremely anxious about continuing her studies.

Acting on the directives of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the district administration has now provided Poonam with a new tablet and the essential books required for competitive examinations. This assistance has brought her much-needed relief. With this support, even the floods will not be able to derail Poonam’s journey towards becoming an administrative officer.

Raipur : The 125th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popular monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat was broadcast live today at the convention centre of Dr. Shyama Prasad Industrial and Trade Complex in Naya Raipur.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Food Minister Dayal Das Baghel, Industries Minister Lakhan Dewangan, Revenue Minister Tank Ram Verma, Skill Development and Employment Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb, MLA Indra Kumar Sahu, and Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation Chairman Rajeev Agrawal, along with a large number of public representatives and citizens, were present on the occasion.

In his radio address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the true strength of India lies in the way its people extend a helping hand to one another during natural calamities. He observed that the solidarity and cooperation displayed in times of adversity define India’s culture and collective consciousness.

The Prime Minister further underlined the importance of sports, describing them not just as a source of health but also of confidence and leadership. He urged the youth to participate actively in sports to energise both their own lives and the nation.

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has said that “the true meaning of good governance will be realized only when our rural women are empowered socially, economically, and within their families.” With this farsighted vision, the Government of Chhattisgarh has taken a historic step to inspire women towards self-reliance and independence.

Under the State Rural Livelihood Mission (Bihan), a special radio programme “Didi Ke Goth” will be launched on August 31, 2025, at 12:15 pm. The programme will be broadcast simultaneously from Akashvani Raipur as well as all other Akashvani stations across the state. It will also be available through live streaming on the online platform (www.onlineradiofm.in/stations/all-india-air-raipur). Didi Ke Goth is not just another radio programme but a reflection of the visionary approach of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai’s good governance.

Shri Avinash Tiwari, originally from Tokapal in Bastar district, completed his early education at Navodaya Vidyalaya, Barsur, Dantewada. His father, Dr. Suresh Tiwari, is a retired teacher. Raipur : At the Cabinet Meeting held today at Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhawan), under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, following important decisions were taken:

1. Procurement and Distribution of Chickpeas under PDS

Cabinet has decided that for families belonging to the Antyodaya and Priority categories residing in Scheduled Areas and Mada Pocket regions of the State, the required quantity of 2 kg chickpeas distributed every month under the Public Distribution System (PDS) will be procured by the State Civil Supplies Corporation through the NeML e-auction platform. This procurement will be carried out at a transaction/service charge of 0.25 percent or less, as approved for the financial year 2024–25.

In addition, the Cabinet has directed that beneficiaries who did not receive their quota of chickpeas between July 2025 and November 2025 must be provided the entitled quantity by December 2025.

2. Concessional Land Allotment for IT Industry in Nava Raipur

To encourage the establishment of Information Technology (IT/IITS) industries in Nava Raipur, the Cabinet has approved the allotment of a 90-acre land plot at a concessional premium rate. The decision aims to attract investment in the IT sector and accelerate industrial development.

With land being made available at concessional rates, private sector participation will increase, leading to the creation of new employment opportunities. This initiative is expected to give a significant boost to both technological and economic activities in Nava Raipur, while also supporting urban settlement and planned urbanisation.

The establishment of IT companies will further drive the development of essential infrastructure in the region, bringing both direct and indirect benefits to local residents.

He said that there was a time when the name Bastar immediately evoked memories of Naxalism and violence, but today that picture has completely changed.

PM Shri Narendra Modi proudly stated that today, the youth of Bastar are taking to the sports field instead of picking up guns. Events like the Bastar Olympics have become a vibrant symbol of the energy, talent, and enthusiasm of the youth. He described this historic transformation as the result of combined efforts in security, development, and people’s participation.

PM Shri Narendra Modi said that there was a time when many parts of the country faced the serious problem of Naxalism. The atmosphere of violence and fear had gripped the pace of development for decades, bringing progress to a standstill. He said that this situation has now completely changed — Naxalism today is confined to only a few districts in the country. The Prime Minister said that in the past 11 years, Naxalism has reduced from more than 125 districts to just 20 districts. Raipur : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday honoured Swachhata Didis for their exceptional contribution in making cities clean and beautiful by ceremonially washing their feet at the ‘Swachhata Sangam’. The event, held at Bilaspur’s Bahatarai Indoor Stadium, also saw the felicitation of urban bodies that excelled in the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25. Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao presided over the programme, organised by the Urban Administration and Development Department.

The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development works worth more than ₹260 crore. Announcing incentives for top-performing municipalities, he said, “The urban body achieving first place in cleanliness at the national level will receive ₹1 crore; the second-place winner will get ₹50 lakh; and the third will be awarded ₹25 lakh.”

The event was attended by MLAs Dharamlal Kaushik, Amar Agrawal, Dharamjeet Singh, Dileep Lahariya and Sushant Shukla; Bilaspur Mayor Pooja Vidhani; Chhattisgarh Textbook Corporation Chairman Raja Pandey; CREDA Chairman Bhupendra Savanni; and Zila Panchayat Chairperson Rajesh Suryavanshi, among other dignitaries.

Congratulating the Urban Administration Department for successfully organising ‘Swachhata Sangam’, CM Sai said, “Our sanitation workers—Swachhata Didis—have made an immense contribution in the field of cleanliness, and today, washing their feet is a gesture of deep respect. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Swachh Bharat Mission in 2014. Since then, we have been moving forward consistently, and Chhattisgarh has achieved remarkable success in this area. These achievements motivate us to go even further.”

He noted that the department has been introducing various innovations for public convenience and urged citizens to participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign on Independence Day, contributing towards making the state clean and beautiful.

Deputy CM Arun Sao called it “a historic day in Chhattisgarh’s journey towards cleanliness.” He said, “When the Prime Minister initiated the cleanliness mission in 2014, it became a people’s movement. We have since built a new identity, earning awards from both the President and the Prime Minister. Our urban bodies have won six national-level awards—this is a matter of immense pride. Raipur Municipal Corporation has secured a Seven-Star rating in the Garbage-Free City category. Among towns with populations under 20,000, as many as 58 from Chhattisgarh have earned Three-Star ratings. Our cities have also excelled in source segregation and waste management. Chhattisgarh is advancing rapidly on all cleanliness parameters. Our aim is to make our cities clean, beautiful, and well-equipped, making cleanliness the state’s identity.”

Urban Administration and Development Department Secretary Dr. Basavaraju S. said 115 cities in the state improved their rankings in the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25. Seven urban bodies were felicitated by President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi for their outstanding performance. More than 30 urban bodies excelling at the divisional level were also honoured at the event.

CM launches online property tax portal

CM Sai also launched the GIS-based Property Tax Live Portal to enable online property tax payments in three municipal corporations—Birgaon, Bhilai-Charoda, and Dhamtari—and in 43 municipal councils. With the facility now operational in 46 cities, this marks a major step in modernising local governance and providing citizens with convenient, at-home services. The move is also expected to boost tax collection efficiency.

The ‘Swachhata Sangam’ also saw the launch of a state-level competition to raise cleanliness and urban beautification standards across municipal bodies. The Chief Minister released a video on the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 by pressing a remote button.

Inauguration and foundation stones worth ₹260 crore

During the event, CM Sai inaugurated 24 construction and development works worth ₹63.57 crore in Bilaspur district and laid the foundation stones for 25 works valued at over ₹197 crore.

Among those present were Divisional Commissioner Sunil Jain, IG Sanjeev Shukla, Collector Sanjay Agrawal, SP Rajnesh Singh, mayors and chairpersons of all urban bodies, deputy chairpersons, municipal commissioners, chief municipal officers, senior engineers, Swachhata Didis, and Swachhata Commandos in large numbers.

Raipur : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today attended the Shaheed Vinod Singh Kaushik Meritorious Students Felicitation Ceremony at Guru Ghasidas University in Bilaspur. Felicitating the university’s meritorious students, the Chief Minister said that the young generation is the future of the nation and that with their hard work, dedication and determination, the state and the country will reach new heights.

In his address, CM Sai said it was a moment of great pride and joy to honour the talented, hardworking and bright young minds of the new generation. He noted that this event, held in memory of Shaheed Vinod Singh Kaushik for the past three years, serves as an inspiration for the entire society. “Such programmes encourage children to move forward and do something new,” he said.

Paying tribute to Shaheed Vinod Singh Kaushik, CM Sai said his sacrifice would not go in vain. He recalled that the brave son of the soil, Shaheed Vinod Singh Kaushik, was martyred in 2018 while fighting Maoists in Narayanpur. To keep his memory alive, a trust has been formed in his name, and through it, honouring talent is a commendable initiative, he added.

CM Sai further said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the state is moving towards eliminating Naxal terror by March 2026. “The double-engine government of the Centre and the state is committed to ending Naxalism. We are continuously achieving success in Naxal operations, wanted Naxalites with rewards worth crores are surrendering, and the backbone of Naxalism has been broken,” he said.

Highlighting the significance of the ceremony, the Chief Minister said, “Through this felicitation, we are not just honouring students who have scored good marks in exams, but the children who are the future builders of the nation.” He reminded students that while their achievements are undoubtedly the result of their own hard work, their families, teachers and society have also played an important role in their success.

CM Sai pointed out that Chhattisgarh has now entered its silver jubilee year and assured that students no longer need to go outside the state for higher education, as all top-level educational institutions are now available within the state. He presented certificates of appreciation and mementoes to students who excelled in various faculties, urging them to set goals, work consistently, and maintain a positive outlook.

Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao also paid floral tribute to Shaheed Vinod Singh Kaushik and bowed in respect. From Roads to Colleges: CM Sai Rolls Out ₹186-Crore Development Works in Sarangarh-Bilaigarh

Announces ₹5 crore Gaurav Path from Bharat Mata Chowk to Kosir Chowk and ₹3 crore for PG College building in Sarangarh

Raipur : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today inaugurated development works worth ₹186 crore for Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district. At a programme held in the premises of Government Lochan Prasad Pandey College in Sarangarh, the Chief Minister inaugurated projects worth ₹96 crore and performed bhoomipujan for works worth ₹90 crore. He also announced various local-level public utility projects worth ₹13.40 crore from the stage.

In his address, CM Sai said that he had served Sarangarh for many years as an MP, and now, as the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, he has been working with full dedication and commitment for the past one-and-a-half years to lead the state on the path of development. He said that the state government is taking concrete steps to fulfil the guarantees given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Paddy is being procured from farmers at the rate of 21 quintals per acre for ₹3,100 per quintal. Approval has been granted for the construction of 18 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and the construction for beneficiaries is progressing at such a rapid pace that villages are facing a shortage of masons and centering plates.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the Mahtari Vandan Yojana has provided economic support to 70 lakh women in the state. With the monthly amount received under the scheme, women are starting their own businesses. In Danasra village of Sarangarh district, mothers and sisters have used the Mahtari Vandan funds to take the initiative to build a Ram temple, a move that has become known across the state. The procurement price of tendu leaves has been increased. Financial assistance of ₹10,000 each is being given to 5.62 lakh agricultural landless labourers. Under the Shri Ramlal Darshan Yojana, as many as 22,000 devotees have so far visited Ayodhya Dham for the darshan of Lord Shri Ram.

Revenue and District In-charge Minister Tankaram Verma said that over the past one-and-a-half years, the government has been accelerating development works in both rural and urban areas of the state. He said that the infusion of crores worth of development works in Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district will boost public amenities here.

MP Radheshyam Rathiya said that development and infrastructure expansion work in Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district is progressing rapidly. Along with basic facilities like roads, education, and health, works like PM Awas Yojana are being prioritised.

Jagdalpur MLA Kiran Dev said that under the leadership of CM Vishnu Deo Sai, the state is not only implementing PM Narendra Modi’s welfare schemes on the ground but also taking development to new heights. He said the ₹186 crore development package will strengthen the district’s infrastructure.

On this occasion, CM Vishnu Deo Sai announced the following projects: construction of Gaurav Path from Bharat Mata Chowk via Garh Chowk to Kosir Chowk for ₹5 crore; ₹1 crore for garden construction under Sarangarh Municipality; ₹3 crore for the construction of a PG College building in Sarangarh; ₹2.5 crore for the renovation of the Indoor Stadium in Sarangarh; ₹1 crore for repairs to the boys’ hostel in Sarangarh; ₹40 lakh for constructing a patient facility room at the new district hospital; and ₹50 lakh for expanding facilities at the Sarangarh bus stand.

The programme was attended by Chhattisgarh Housing Board Chairman Anurag Singhdeo, along with other public representatives, officials, and distinguished citizens.

Raipur : Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai paid heartfelt tribute to the late Minimata, the first woman Member of Parliament from Chhattisgarh and a prominent social reformer, on her death anniversary. He said that her life was a living example of selfless service, unwavering courage, and social transformation. CM Sai noted that Minimata dedicated her entire life to protecting the rights of the underprivileged, women, Dalits, and the poor, and played a vital role in strengthening the foundations of dignity, equality, and justice in society.

Recalling her contributions in Parliament, CM Sai said that Minimata raised a strong and fearless voice against social evils such as child marriage, the dowry system, and untouchability. He added that her work in safeguarding workers’ rights, promoting women’s education, and establishing social equality is recorded as a golden chapter in history. Her simplicity, sensitivity, and spirit of service earned her a permanent place in the hearts of the people.

CM Sai further said that Minimata’s ideology is not merely a legacy of the past but a guiding light for Chhattisgarh’s present and future. He called upon everyone to draw inspiration from her ideals and actively contribute to building a strong, inclusive, and progressive Chhattisgarh, based on brotherhood, equality, and justice.

Three New Chhattisgarh Rajya Gramin Bank Branches Inaugurated in Jashpur District

New Branches Open in Aara, Kudekela and Chhichhli Villages

Around 44,000 People in 23 Gram Panchayats and 48 Hamlets to Benefit

Raipur : Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said that providing banking services to remote rural areas of the state is a top priority of his government, ensuring that farmers, traders, and common citizens can access financial services right in their own villages. He noted that banking facilities not only accelerate economic activities but also serve as a foundation for the effective implementation of government schemes.

CM Sai virtually inaugurated three new branches of Chhattisgarh Rajya Gramin Bank from the CM Camp Office in Bagia village of Jashpur district. The new branches are located at Aara village in Jashpur development block, Kudekela in Pathalgaon block, and Chhichhli in Bagicha block. On the occasion, he also released the bank’s 12th Annual Report.

Over 44,000 Rural Residents to Benefit

Addressing the event virtually, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that with the opening of three new branches of Chhattisgarh Rajya Gramin Bank in Jashpur district, nearly 44,000 people from 23 Gram Panchayats and 48 dependent villages will directly benefit. Residents will no longer have to travel long distances for banking services, saving both time and money.

Atal Digital Seva Kendras Bringing Financial Services to Villages

CM Shri Sai informed that Atal Digital Seva Kendras have been set up in 268 panchayats of Jashpur district, enabling transactions worth nearly ₹15 crore so far. Plans are in place to open these centres in all panchayats by the upcoming Panchayat Diwas. These centres will provide villagers with access to banking, insurance, and government scheme-related services right in their own villages.

Sarpanch Anima Minj of Chhichhli, Manoj Bhagat of Aara, and Shashikanta Painkra of Kudekela expressed that the new bank branches will now provide all banking facilities locally to the villagers in their respective areas. MLA Raimuni Bhagat, joining virtually from Aara, said that the opening of the bank will ensure that beneficiaries receive the benefits of welfare schemes directly through bank channels.

MLA Gomti Sai, joining virtually from Kudekela, referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Jan Dhan Yojana, noting that it has increased financial awareness among the people, and with these three new rural bank branches, the pace of development in rural areas will further accelerate. Zila Panchayat President Salik Sai also expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister. With the inauguration of these three new branches, the total number of Chhattisgarh Rajya Gramin Bank branches in the district has risen to 30.

The programme at the CM Camp Office was attended by Mati Kala Board Chairman Shambhunath Chakravarty, Zila Panchayat members Ved Prakash Bhagat, Upendra Yadav, Sunil Gupta, Zila Panchayat CEO Abhishek Kumar, Chhattisgarh Rajya Gramin Bank Chairman Vinod Arora, along with public representatives and villagers from all three Gram Panchayats connected virtually.

‘Next Gen e-Hospital’ Initiative by Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal Makes Healthcare More Accessible, Efficient and Transparent

Raipur : The effective implementation of Next Gen e-Hospital, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana in Bastar division is proving to be a game-changer for the region. Notably, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has been making consistent and determined efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery in Bastar. Guided by Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Chhattisgarh’s health services are now marching in step with the latest technology.

The Next Gen e-Hospital system is running successfully in six district hospitals, two civil hospitals and 41 community health centres of Bastar. This system brings OPD registration, consultation, diagnostics, medicine distribution and all patient-related medical information onto a single digital platform, ensuring better and timely services for patients. The integration of digital technology has led to remarkable improvements in transparency, efficiency and patient satisfaction across hospitals.

Under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, Health Facility Registration (HFR) for hospitals and Health Professional Registration (HPR) for doctors and nursing staff have been completed. ABHA kiosks have been set up in hospital premises, enabling patients to create their Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA). The “Scan & Share” feature and ABHA ID-based online OPD registration have spared patients from long queues, allowing them to receive prompt services.

The impact of these digital innovations is clearly visible. At Bastar District Hospital, a total of 60,045 OPD registrations were recorded during May, June and July 2025, out of which 32,379 – 53% – were linked with ABHA. During the same period, Dantewada District Hospital recorded 33,895 OPD registrations, with 13,729 – 40% – linked to ABHA.

This entire process not only saves time but also provides patients with digital health records that they can access anywhere in the country, anytime. It has improved transparency in the healthcare system while enhancing continuity and quality of treatment.

CM Vishnu Deo Sai said that the successful implementation of modern technologies like Next Gen e-Hospital and Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission in Bastar division has given a new pace and direction to healthcare services. “Digital registration, health records and transparent service delivery have ensured timely, accessible and quality treatment for patients. This initiative is not just a model for Bastar but for the entire state. We will soon implement it across all districts to realise the vision of a ‘Healthy and Empowered Chhattisgarh’,” he said.

Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that this technological upgrade in Bastar is proving to be beneficial not just for the local population but is emerging as a model for the whole state. “The state government aims to implement this system robustly in all districts to take decisive steps towards building a ‘Healthy and Empowered Chhattisgarh’,” he added.

Significantly, this initiative in healthcare goes beyond mere digitisation. It serves as a powerful bridge connecting people in rural and remote areas to quality medical facilities. The positive results from Bastar prove that when technology, administrative willpower and public participation come together, the pace of development multiplies manifold. This initiative will not only transform healthcare services but also ensure Chhattisgarh’s substantial contribution to building a ‘Healthy India’.
