Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai Felicitates the Tribal Alpine Expedition Team for Their Historic Achievement
Raipur : In a stirring display of courage and endurance, young climbers from Jashpur district have etched their names into Chhattisgarh’s adventure legacy by successfully ascending to 5,350 meters in the Duhangan Valley of Himachal Pradesh as part of the Tribal Alpine Expedition Himalaya 2025.

At the CM’s Camp Office in Baghia, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai felicitated the mountaineering team with certificates of appreciation, lauding their “discipline, determination, and indomitable will.” He said the achievement proved that “no goal is impossible when pursued with unwavering resolve, dedication, and self-belief.”
CM Shri Sai noted that the expedition would inspire a new wave of interest in adventure sports among the tribal youth of Jashpur and across the state. “Such initiatives cultivate confidence, leadership, and teamwork — values essential for a strong society,” he remarked.
The climbers’ journey, supported by the District Administration, Jashpur, began in September. Through intense trekking, rock climbing, and ice climbing under challenging Himalayan conditions, the team showcased both physical resilience and technical skill. Their success, officials said, symbolizes not just individual triumph but also the growing spirit of self-reliant exploration in Chhattisgarh’s tribal regions.
Expressing gratitude, the youth thanked Chief Minister Shri Sai for the government’s encouragement and logistical backing. They said the experience, their first encounter with the high Himalayas, strengthened their confidence and would motivate other young people from the district to pursue adventure sports.
Sharing their reflections, the climbers spoke of “learning patience, unity, and endurance in the face of freezing winds and steep ascents.” They credited the expedition for transforming local aspirations into a tangible achievement that carried the pride of the entire state.
The Tribal Himalayan Mountaineering Expedition 2025 began as a local training initiative and grew, through collaboration and faith, into a full-fledged mission of determination and unity. Beyond its physical milestones, the campaign has fortified Chhattisgarh’s image at the national level — as a state where the spirit of its youth rises as high as the mountains they conquer.
Lormi Resident Benefits from PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, Embraces Rooftop Solar Power
TNINS
Raipur : Across Chhattisgarh, sunlight is being turned into power through the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, a scheme that is helping ordinary families produce their own electricity. From small towns to rural homes, residents are embracing rooftop solar systems to cut down on electricity bills and move towards energy self-sufficiency.
In Mungeli district, Shri Prem Kumar Mishra, a resident of Lormi, has installed a three-kilowatt rooftop solar system on his house. He said he had applied for the scheme through the national portal, following which approval was granted and the solar panels were installed on the roof of his home located in Agrasen Ward No. 08, Lormi.
Shri Mishra expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, saying the initiative has brought significant relief to middle-class families like his. “Lighting up our homes with sunlight is no longer a dream—it has become a reality,” he said.
The Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana is a key component of the Central Government’s Green Energy initiative, aimed at promoting the use of clean and renewable energy. The scheme offers attractive subsidies to encourage citizens to adopt solar power. This not only reduces household electricity bills but also supports the broader goal of environmental sustainability.
Under the scheme, consumers receive subsidies ranging from Rs 30,000 to Rs 78,000 for installing rooftop solar systems. A subsidy of Rs 45,000 is provided for a one-kilowatt system, Rs 90,000 for two kilowatts, and Rs 1.08 lakh for a three-kilowatt system. To make adoption easier, banks are offering low-interest loans with easy repayment options, as directed by the government. The initiative has generated widespread enthusiasm among citizens, who see it as a practical step towards energy self-reliance and a cleaner future.

Satellite GIS Imagery and Mapping Ensure Accurate Assessment
Over 1.5 Lakh Women Associated with the Neer-Nari Jal Yatra
Raipur : The Mission Jal Raksha model of Chhattisgarh’s Rajnandgaon district has earned national recognition at the Sujalam Bharat – Jal Sanchay programme, organised by the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti. At the national conference held at Convention Hall in New Delhi, officials concerned presented the innovative initiatives and achievements of Rajnandgaon in the field of water conservation.
The event showcased water conservation, groundwater management, and water literacy innovations from across the country. Presiding over the programme, Mrs. Archana Verma, Director, Ministry of Jal Shakti, lauded the Mission Jal Raksha model, calling it “an inspiring example for other districts” and a powerful demonstration of how community-driven approaches can achieve sustainable water management.
The presentation was delivered by Ms. Suruchi Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Rajnandgaon Zila Panchayat, in the presence of senior ministry officials, representatives of NITI Aayog, water experts, and delegates from various states.
Rajnandgaon’s Mission Jal Raksha model is rooted in a holistic approach combining science, technology, and community participation. Of the district’s four blocks, three had been classified as semi-critical zones in terms of groundwater levels. Through sustained interventions—including percolation tanks, recharge shafts, and other water structures—scientifically designed with hydrogeological mapping and GIS-based analysis, maximum utilisation of rainwater has been ensured.
The model also focuses on low-cost, locally sourced materials to build water structures, reducing construction costs significantly.
Under Mission Jal Raksha, extensive campaigns on water sanitation and crop awareness have been launched at the village level, encouraging rainwater harvesting, community hygiene, and crop cycle diversification.
Particularly noteworthy is the large-scale participation of over 1.5 lakh women, led by Padma Shri awardee Phoolbasan Bai, under the Neer-Nari Jal Yatra. Their sustained efforts have been instrumental in creating awareness and mobilising communities towards water conservation.
The district has also showcased innovative low-cost techniques for groundwater conservation under MGNREGA. In addition, satellite GIS imagery and mapping are being used to scientifically evaluate the impact of water structures, with early results showing visible improvement in several regions. The model also addresses policy gaps and promotes context-specific policy reforms to ensure effective water management.
The second phase of Mission Jal Raksha in Rajnandgaon is set to focus on micro-recharge mapping, institutional rainwater harvesting systems, and water quality monitoring mechanisms. With the support of the state government, more structures will be developed to expand water conservation and recharge.
The Sujalam Bharat – Jal Sanchay programme is one of the Government of India’s flagship initiatives, aimed at promoting water conservation, rejuvenation of water bodies, wastewater reuse, and community participation, with the overarching vision of ensuring “every drop counts.”
Officials noted that Rajnandgaon’s Mission Jal Raksha model could serve as a replicable example for other states under the Sujalam Bharat campaign, advancing the national goal of sustainable water security.
Poshan Abhiyaan Brings Hope to Narayanpur Twins, Helping Them Beat Malnutrition
TNINS
Raipur : Chhattisgarh continues to record significant progress in improving child health and nutrition under the Government of India’s Poshan Abhiyaan. A compelling example of this success can be seen in Narayanpur district, where the story of twin children Niharika Poyam and Nihal Poyam from the Anganwadi Centre in Dhaudai under the Chhotedongar project has become a model of transformation.
At birth, both children weighed only one kilogram and nine hundred grams and were classified as severely malnourished. Their fragile health and slow growth deeply worried their family. However, through the dedication and consistent efforts of Anganwadi workers and the Poshan Abhiyan team, a remarkable change was achieved in their lives.
The children’s weight and height were monitored regularly. Along with the prescribed supplementary nutrition, they were provided eggs, milk, and fruits to ensure a balanced diet. The family received guidance on maintaining hygiene and preparing nutritious meals. With support from the Health Department, the children were immunised on schedule and provided with necessary medication.
These continuous efforts have borne visible results. Today, Niharika and Nihal are healthy, their weight has reached normal levels, and they are growing well both physically and mentally.
This achievement stands as proof of the effectiveness of the Poshan Abhiyan, demonstrating that with regular care, balanced nutrition, and community participation, every child can progress from malnutrition to good health.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai appreciated the positive outcomes of the state’s nutrition and supplementary nutrition initiatives, reaffirming the government’s commitment to ensuring a healthy future for every mother and child. He emphasised the vital role of community participation in achieving the goal of a malnutrition-free Chhattisgarh.
Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade stated that the department is working continuously through Anganwadi centres to deliver nutrition, healthcare, and child care services to every child. Raipur : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh’s health services continue to scale new heights. Taking a major step to further strengthen medical education, the state government has granted administrative approval for the establishment of six new physiotherapy colleges. The construction of these institutions will not only open new avenues for the youth but also ensure better quality of healthcare services in the coming years.
According to the order issued by the Department of Medical Education, new physiotherapy colleges will be set up in Manendragarh, Jashpur, Raigarh, Bilaspur, Durg, and Jagdalpur. For these institutions, the government has sanctioned a total of ₹83.62 crore. Each college will receive a budget allocation of approximately ₹13.93 crore (nearly ₹14 crore). The funds will be utilized not only for modern buildings and laboratories but also for essential equipment and infrastructure to benefit students. This decision is expected to pave a new path for the youth of the state.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said, “The health of Chhattisgarh’s three crore people and the future of our youth are both the top priorities of our government. The six new physiotherapy colleges sanctioned today are not just institutions; they are the foundation stones of a healthy and self-reliant Chhattisgarh. Alongside existing medical and nursing colleges, this new chain of physiotherapy institutions will broaden the scope of health education in the state. Chhattisgarh will not only produce doctors and nurses but also a large number of professional physiotherapists. The decision is also set to generate new employment opportunities. From construction to operation, these institutions will provide jobs at the local level, and graduates will serve in healthcare facilities, meeting the needs of the state.

First Successful Kidney Surgery Through Laparoscopic Method – A New Lease of Life for a Woman Battling Financial Hardship
Raipur : Kondagaon district continues to set new milestones in the field of healthcare, and September 4, 2025, will be remembered as a historic day for the region. For the first time, doctors at the Kondagaon District Hospital successfully performed a kidney surgery using the laparoscopic method. This achievement is not only a landmark for the medical fraternity but also a life-saving blessing for a woman who has long struggled with poverty and illness.
Savitri Koram, a 35-year-old resident of Bazaarpara, Kondagaon, has lived a life of relentless struggle. Following the untimely death of her husband a few years ago, the burden of raising her two sons and two daughters fell solely on her shoulders. To make ends meet, she began working in households as a cleaner and dish-washer. Yet fate dealt another cruel blow when, two years ago, she began suffering from persistent urinary problems.

Gathering her meagre savings, Savitri travelled to Visakhapatnam, where medical tests confirmed a severe kidney disease. Doctors recommended immediate surgery, but the prohibitive cost shattered her hopes. With no financial means, she was forced to return home with incomplete treatment. Amidst the struggle of raising four children, Savitri began to feel her life slipping away.
Kondagaon District Hospital Becomes a Lifeline
In her despair, she turned to Kondagaon District Hospital. After thorough examination, the hospital’s surgeon, Dr. S. Nagulan, and his team confirmed that one of her kidneys was completely damaged and needed removal. Conventional surgery carried risks of large incisions and infection, which posed further challenges for Savitri. At this crucial juncture, Dr. Nagulan made the bold decision to perform the surgery using laparoscopic technique.
According to information provided by the hospital, Savitri underwent surgery on September 4 at the Kondagaon District Hospital. The three-hour operation was conducted by a team led by Dr. S. Nagulan, supported by Dr. Shailesh Kumar, Dr. Anil Devangan, and Dr. Krishna Markam. OT Head Nurse Swapnapriya, along with staff nurses Pushplata Kunwar, Hemant Mandavi, Sanjana Jain, Rameshwari, Archana, Sadhna, and Reena, played a crucial role in the procedure. The damaged kidney was successfully removed, and Savitri is now recovering rapidly.
Expressing her gratitude after the operation, Savitri said, “I once thought poverty and illness had ended my life. But thanks to Kondagaon District Hospital and the Ayushman Card, I have been given a new life.”
Visionary Leadership and Teamwork
This success also reflects the foresight and teamwork of the district administration and health department. Collector Smt. Nupur Rashi Panna has been placing special emphasis on strengthening healthcare facilities in the district. Under the guidance of Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. R.K. Chaturvedi and Civil Surgeon Dr. Prem Mandavi, this historic operation became a reality.
The achievement stands as testimony that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai, healthcare services in Chhattisgarh are steadily being strengthened. The state government envisions that patients will no longer need to depend on big cities for treatment. In earlier years, people from Bastar had to travel to Visakhapatnam, Raipur, or other cities for major medical procedures. Now, advanced healthcare is being made available at the district level itself. The laparoscopic kidney surgery conducted at Kondagaon District Hospital marks a milestone in this transformative journey.

Boosting green energy is our priority; Chhattisgarh far ahead in per capita power consumption
CM Sai attends 97th National Conference of ‘Forum of Regulators’ in Nava Raipur
Raipur : Chhattisgarh is among the leading states in the country in terms of power generation. Under the Prime Minister Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme, the target is to install solar panels on rooftops of 1.3 lakh houses across the state by March 2027, but our effort is to extend it further to 5 lakh rooftops. Under this scheme, consumers are being given major subsidies.

For installing solar plants ranging from 1 kW to 3 kW capacity, central assistance of ₹30,000 to ₹78,000 is being directly transferred to bank accounts. Along with this, the Chhattisgarh government is also providing additional subsidy. As a result, consumers are receiving up to 75% subsidy on the total cost. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said this while addressing the 97th National Conference of the “Forum of Regulators” held in Nava Raipur.
CM Sai said that today we are celebrating the silver jubilee year of our state’s formation. In these 25 years, our production capacity has reached nearly 30,000 MW. With the participation of the state sector, private sector and central sector, more than 30,000 MW of power is being generated from the soil of Chhattisgarh today. Recently, we have signed MoUs for the establishment of power plants with capacity of more than 32,000 MW. These include thermal, pump storage, nuclear, battery storage and solar power projects. Our aim in the coming years is to become a state producing more than 60,000 MW of power.

The Chief Minister further said that in terms of per capita power consumption, Chhattisgarh is far ahead of the country’s average. Here the consumption is 2,211 units, while the national average is only 1,255 units. Chhattisgarh is producing more electricity than its own requirement and is making a significant contribution to the development of the country. We are supplying electricity not only to our state but also to neighbouring states.
The Chief Minister said that just two days ago, in the Cabinet meeting, we approved an amendment to the policy promoting solar energy which will remain in force till 2030. Under this, renewable energy projects have been given priority in the industrial policy.

Expressing gratitude to the chairpersons, office bearers and experts of electricity regulatory commissions from different states of the country, the Chief Minister said that the in-depth deliberations on the progress of the energy sector will bring long-term benefits for consumers as well as all of us. He also expressed special thanks for choosing Chhattisgarh as the venue for this important event.
On this occasion, Chairman of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission Jishnu Barua, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission Hemant Verma, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary of the Energy Department Rohit Yadav, members of the State Electricity Regulatory Commission and delegates from other states were present.

The CM further said that the country’s Prime Minister had assured that those who played with the future of Chhattisgarh’s youth would not be spared. “Today, the youth of the state are seeing that those involved in the PSC examination scam are in jail, and others are preparing to go behind bars. In our government, schemes like the RamLala Darshan Yojana for devotees and pilgrimage tours for the elderly have been launched,” he added.

Deputy CM Arun Sao described the bhoomipujan of the anicut as a historic occasion for Bayang (Kachar). He said, “We fulfilled the promises we made. Under the good governance of Vishnu Deo Sai and the double-engine government, development work is progressing rapidly.”

Farmers are receiving paddy procurement at ₹3,100 per quintal, pending bonuses of two years have been paid, and landless labourers are getting ₹10,000 every year. Under the PM Awas Yojana, houses are being built in every village. Even masons and centering plates are in short supply due to the pace of construction. In Kachar alone, more than 180 PM Awas houses have been sanctioned,” he said.

For the farmers of Gram Panchayat Kachar, today is a historic day as the construction of the anicut will enhance agricultural facilities. Shares 25 years of development journey in Silver Jubilee year
Raipur : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today laid the foundation stone of the Joint Headquarters building of Chhattisgarh State Power Companies at Sector-24 in Naya Raipur. On the auspicious occasion of the state’s Silver Jubilee year and Ganesh Utsav, the ceremony began with traditional rituals and unveiling of a 3D model of the building. The Chief Minister said that the upcoming headquarters will enhance the efficiency of officers and employees, strengthen coordination among the three power companies, and ensure that consumers receive all services under one roof. On this occasion, he also planted a Moulshree sapling under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign.

CM Sai said that Chhattisgarh’s 25-year journey is proof that when determination and sensitivity move together, the results are historic. In 2000, the state’s power generation capacity was just 1,400 MW; today it has risen to 30,000 MW. He noted that the recent inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi of a new 1,320 MW power plant has further strengthened this achievement. The Chief Minister added that this progress is the outcome of every citizen’s trust, hard work, and participation.

Referring to his recent visit to Japan and South Korea, the Chief Minister said that the experience showed him that Chhattisgarh is now moving rapidly towards global-level infrastructure and work culture. The Joint Headquarters building, he said, will be an important milestone in that direction. He instructed officials to ensure quality and timely completion of the building, so that it becomes a new identity for Chhattisgarh’s energy sector.

The Chief Minister further informed that under the new industrial policy, MoUs worth nearly ₹3 lakh crore have recently been signed in the power sector. As a result, an additional 30,000 MW of power generation will be possible in the coming years. He said this achievement will not only ensure 24-hour uninterrupted electricity for the people of the state but also meet the requirements of neighboring states. He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the PM Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme is rapidly propelling Chhattisgarh towards free electricity, with its benefits already reaching even remote regions.

Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, on this occasion, paid tribute to Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee for his contribution to the formation of Chhattisgarh. He said that the building, to be constructed at a cost of nearly ₹270 crore, will be based on green energy and serve as an inspiration for generations to come.

The event was attended by Member of Parliament Brijmohan Agrawal, MLAs Sunil Soni, Purandar Mishra, Anuj Sharma, and Inder Kumar Sahu, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, Energy Secretary Dr. Rohit Yadav, along with a large number of officials and employees.

The Joint Headquarters building will be constructed in a nine-storey structure over an area of 10,017 square meters. It will have three separate towers for the Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited, Power Generation Company Limited, and Power Transmission Company Limited. Designed to accommodate 1,300 employees, it will include a 210-seat auditorium, a gymnasium for employees, two-level basement parking, mechanical stack parking, and e-vehicle charging facilities. The building will be constructed in line with BEE Five Star and GRIHA Five Star Green Rating standards, and its complete operation will be managed through a Building Management System.

Being built in Naya Raipur near the state Secretariat, Directorate, and Police Headquarters, this ultra-modern facility will strengthen inter-departmental coordination and take the state’s energy sector to new heights.
