Raipur : Under the third phase of Sushasan Tihar, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai is travelling across Chhattisgarh to assess the on-ground implementation of various welfare schemes. In the same sequence, he visited the residence of Mrs. Amrautin Sahu, a beneficiary of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), in Sahaspur Gram Panchayat of Bemetara district.

Amrautin Sahu, overwhelmed by the Chief Minister's presence, expressed her joy saying, “Mor abbad bhaag he, Mukhyamantri mor ghar aaye he” ("I am truly blessed, the Chief Minister has come to my home"). In accordance with Chhattisgarhi tradition, her family members extended a heartfelt and warm welcome to the Chief Minister.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that every eligible beneficiary receives the benefits of welfare schemes promptly and that the dream of a permanent home for every poor family is fulfilled.

He further said that the Prime Minister has taken a monumental resolve to provide pucca houses to all underprivileged families to elevate their standard of living with dignity, and this mission is being rapidly implemented across the state. Chief Minister warmly interacted with the family members and children during his visit and instructed officials to ensure more effective implementation of government schemes.

Amrautin Sahu shared that under the PM Awas Yojana, she has received a permanent house, for which she expressed deep gratitude to the Chief Minister and the government. She said that her family now enjoys a life of safety and dignity.

Villagers Thank Chief Minister Shri Sai for Swift Solutions

Raipur : As part of the ongoing Sushasan Tihar aimed at promoting transparent and responsive governance, the Chhattisgarh Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA) has brought significant improvements to rural life in Dhamtari district by swiftly addressing citizens' grievances. This initiative, led by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, focuses on prompt resolution of public issues and restoration of essential infrastructure.

As a part of this campaign, multiple applications related to the repair of solar high-mast lights and solar pumps were received and resolved efficiently. Among them, Shri Kamleshwar Uike from Dangimacha village submitted a request to repair a faulty gate valve in the Jal Jeevan Mission’s solar dual pump system. CREDA’s field team promptly inspected and repaired the unit, restoring access to clean drinking water for the villagers.

Similarly, Shri Panchuram from Kishanpuri village had requested repairs to a malfunctioning solar high-mast light. CREDA officials replaced damaged batteries and lighting components, ensuring improved lighting conditions during nighttime for the community.

Other residents including Shri Lomash Kumar Sahu from Pachpedi, Shri Tilak Ram Dhruv from Charra, and Shri Gajendra Kumar Sahu from Giroud also submitted requests for the repair of solar pumps and high-mast lighting systems. In each case, CREDA acted promptly, resolving the issues during the Sushasan Tihar. Expressing gratitude, the beneficiaries thanked Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai for the quick action stating that they had never imagined such swift resolution of their concerns.

Addressing the inaugural session of the orientation-cum-workshop for newly elected representatives of urban local bodies, he shared the urban development roadmap through a detailed 50-slide PowerPoint presentation with mayors, chairpersons, MIC members, commissioners, and senior engineers from the state's 14 municipal corporations. In his hour-long address and presentation, Shri Sao provided detailed explanations for each slide.

Raipur : Four promising players of Kabirdham district of Chhattisgarh hoisted the flag of Chhattisgarh and the country by performing well in the International Bodybuilding and Weightlifting Competition held in Pokhara city of Nepal. More than 300 players from seven countries including India, Nepal, Pakistan, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Myanmar participated in this competition organized by the International United Indian Sports Association. From India, Suraj Rajput, Deepali Soni, Abhishek Tiwari and Anurag Jangde from Kawardha, Chhattisgarh participated in this prestigious competition and won gold medals.

It is known that in the bodybuilding competition, Suraj Rajput of Kabirdham won the title of International Mr. Overall, leaving behind the participants from seven countries. Suraj has also previously won medals in Mr. Chhattisgarh, Senior National Bodybuilding Championship and Powerlifting. Currently, he is playing the role of coach in "Bharat Health Club" of Kawardha and is giving free training to about 50 youth. Deepali Soni, who became the first female gold medalist weightlifter of the district, won in the 76 kg category. She has also performed brilliantly in national and state level competitions before this. Abhishek Tiwari of the sub-junior category won the gold medal in the men's 67 kg category. Earlier, he has also won medals in the school national games. At the same time, 14-year-old Anurag Jangde, who won the gold medal in sub-junior weightlifting in the 109 kg category, has also topped many district and school level competitions before.

It is worth noting that the credit for training these four players also goes to Suraj Rajput, who has been preparing the youth of the district for international level by giving free training with dedication for years. Suraj Rajput expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Sports Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma for his success and the achievements of the team and said that this achievement will become an inspiration for every youth of the district as well as the state. He told that in the coming time, an international competition will be organized in Dubai, for which he will prepare with full dedication from Kawardha itself. Bodybuilder Suraj Rajput

Suraj Rajput's name needs no introduction in the world of bodybuilding. In the international competition of Nepal, he won the title of International Mr. Overall by defeating the stalwarts of seven countries. Suraj Rajput said that this victory is not only mine, but of the whole Chhattisgarh. It is not easy to reach the international stage from a small town, but if there is passion in the mind and the guidance is right, then no destination is far. Suraj is giving free training to about 50 players as a coach in 'Bharat Health Club'. He has also won medals in Mr. Chhattisgarh, Senior National and Powerlifting competitions.

Weightlifter Deepali Soni

Deepali Soni of Kabirdham district, who won the gold medal in the 76 kg category, has become the first female weightlifter of Kabirdham. Who created history by winning medals at the international level. Sharing her experience, Deepali Soni says that the trip to Nepal was very inspiring for me. Going abroad for the first time and playing and waving the tricolor was a dream, which has been fulfilled. I am happy that now other daughters of the district will also take inspiration to move forward in sports like weightlifting. Deepali has already won medals in national and state level competitions.

Weightlifter Abhishek Tiwari

Abhishek Tiwari set a great example of his hard work by winning the gold medal in the 67 kg sub-junior weightlifting category. Abhishek Tiwari says that when the medal came around my neck, I remembered the hard work of my parents, Guruji and the entire district. Living in Nepal, the players there and the environment, everything was new, but we had resolved to keep the Indian flag high.

Weightlifter Anurag Jangde

Anurag Jangde, who won gold in the 109 kg sub-junior weightlifting category at the age of just 14, caught everyone's attention. Expressing happiness over the achievements he got in his first foreign trip of his career, Anurag Jangde said, "I am very happy that I was able to win a gold medal for the country at such a young age. All this was possible because of my coach Suraj Sir, who prepared me selflessly day and night." The joy of seeing the national flag fluttering abroad cannot be expressed in words.

Shailendra Dhruv's daughter-in-law Ges Kumari, a resident of village Bemacha of Mahasamund development block, is living happily in the same house under the same roof. The amount of Mahtari Vandan that I get regularly every month has relieved me of my worries as a mother-in-law. My husband and son earn their livelihood by agriculture and labour. Thanking the head of the state, Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, she said that this scheme has brought sweetness in relationships along with economic strength.

It is known that under this scheme, 12 thousand rupees annual financial assistance (one thousand rupees per month) is being given in the accounts of married women. A total of 3 lakh 26 thousand women are getting the benefit in Mahasamund district. 10 installments have been paid by the government.

Chief Minister's sewing machine assistance scheme changed Yashoda's fate

Raipur : The benefits of beneficiary-oriented schemes run by the state's labour department are now visible on the ground. Yashoda, who lives in a modest rented house in Purani Basti, got a sewing machine from Chhattisgarh Bhawan and Other Nirman Karmachari Kalyan Mandal, which has improved her financial condition. Yashoda's life was turned upside down when her elder daughter passed away after a long illness. Her husband worked as an electrician and he was equally sad.

He saw his wife’s suffering and after days of collective grief, they decided it was time to chart a new path. Together, they realised their surviving daughter and son deserved more than the nostalgia of their shattered lives. In a moment of shared resolve, they decided to honour their late daughter’s legacy by securing their children’s future.

Fed up with her risky job of making papad, Yashoda decided to try other professions. When she learnt about the Mukhyamantri Silai Machine Sahayata Yojana under Chhattisgarh Bhawan Evam Anyu Nirman Karmakar Kalyan Mandal, she immediately applied. The scheme gave Yashoda access to resources and support to shift to better-paid home-based work. Yashoda now earns Rs 4000 per month, a little more than she could earn.

The income was much less than before. Life is still tough as we live in a two-room rented house with a rent of Rs 4000 per month, leaving very little savings. she said. But this is a new beginning and Yashoda hopes to grow her business as a tailor.

Yashoda’s story highlights how functional social protection systems can bridge the gap in coverage and meet the needs of vulnerable populations. However, the underlying principles of social protection should always be based on inclusivity and gender accountability, especially for the most marginalised.

This is why social protection schemes must recognise the need to support women doing home-based work. After receiving concrete support through the scheme, Yashoda took up tailoring and began her journey to create a more sustainable livelihood for herself.

She was confined to the kitchen of the house, but today she is standing on her own feet and along with taking care of the household, she is earning 1.5 to 2 lakh rupees annually, that too from a business like poultry farming. Nageshwari's children are getting good education and she is also preparing to raise one thousand chickens on her own. Today Nageshwari is repeatedly thanking Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai and saying that whatever I am today is because of them. Other women like me have also become self-reliant through this scheme.

Mrs. Verma tells that a few years ago she got a loan of about 1.5 lakh rupees with the help of Bihaan. After this she started poultry farming business. She got help for a chicken shed from MNREGA. Initially she raised chickens in small numbers, then gradually seeing the profit she reached 500 chickens today. She started selling these chickens to the big poultry farm owners nearby, now they themselves come and take them away.

Mrs. Verma tells that after getting good success in poultry farming business and earning good income in the last five years, she built a new house, bought a two-wheeler and now she is giving good education to her children, her son is doing BBA and she is also planning a good career for her daughter. Thus, along with Goddess Lakshmi, her house also has the blessings of Goddess Saraswati.

Raipur : The Inter-State Tribal Folk Dance Festival and Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas concluded on Friday after a two-day celebration of tribal culture and traditions in Raipur. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the closing ceremony at the Science College Ground, where Tribal dance troupes from various states showcased their vibrant performances.

The festival featured performances from folk dance groups representing Himachal Pradesh, Tripura, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Uttarakhand, and Chhattisgarh. Highlights included the Hojagiri dance by the Bru Riang community of Tripura, where young women balanced bottles on their heads while dancing in perfect harmony. The Kayang dance from Himachal Pradesh, performed in a circular pattern, symbolized unity and the beauty of nature.

The Garo dance from Meghalaya expressed devotion to the deity Misi Saljong, while Mizoram's Mizo dance showcased bravery and valor in battle. The Harul dance from Uttarakhand, performed by the Hati tribe, narrated heroic stories of the Pandavas and local gods.

On the first day of the festival, several other dances were performed, including Chakos Tangnam from Sikkim, Siddhi Goma from Gujarat, Geh Padam A Na Nyi from Arunachal Pradesh, and various dances from Chhattisgarh, including the Gaur Madia dance.

The festival brought together a rich variety of tribal dance forms, offering a vivid glimpse into the diverse cultures, stories, and traditions of India’s tribal communities. The event concluded with performances from folk artists across Chhattisgarh, celebrating the state’s own tribal heritage.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao recently met Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Shri Manohar Lal and requested approval of the amount.

Raipur : On the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has approved Rs 230 crore for solid waste management in urban bodies of Chhattisgarh. The amount is approved under Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) for strengthening infrastructure and technical arrangements for solid waste management in all urban bodies.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai expressed his heartfelt thanks to Government of India for cooperation of the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. “This amount will give a new dimension to the works of Swachh Bharat Mission in the cities. This will give a facelift to every urban body of the state as clean and healthy,” said Shri Sai.

He added that with this financial assistance will improve the waste management infrastructure in the Municipal Corporations, Municipalities and Nagar Panchayats of the state. This will mobilize the necessary technical, physical and human resources to improve the system of solid waste management in the state, which will not only improve the condition of cleanliness, but will also provide better environmental facilities to the citizens.

In a heartfelt gesture, Chief Minister Shri Sai extended his condolences to the bereaved family. Notably, as per the wishes of late Shri Gopal Vyas, his mortal remains will be donated to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). Revenue Minister Shri Tankaram Verma, former Governor Shri Ramesh Bais, MLA Shri Vikram Usendi, and several public representatives were present on the occasion.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, while reflecting on Shri Vyas' contributions, said that Shri Vyas was a revered figure in Chhattisgarh politics and served as a Rajya Sabha member representing the state from 2006 to 2012. "Even while fulfilling household duties, Shri Vyas embodied the qualities of a great saint.

His simplicity and humility left a deep impression on everyone," said the Chief Minister. "I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to work alongside him. He consistently dedicated himself to the welfare of the nation and society. His passing is an irreplaceable loss to both the state and the country."

Recalling his time with Shri Vyas, Chief Minister shared, "I had several opportunities to attend events with him. Typically, we inaugurate programs by cutting a ribbon, but Shri Vyas would say he personally found it unappealing. He believed our role was to unite, not divide." Rural Industries Department's silk stall becomes major attraction at Rajyotsav 2024

Raipur : At the Rajyotsav-2024 organized in Nava Raipur on the occasion of State Foundation Day, farmers and local residents gathered in large numbers to learn about silk production and sericulture at the Rural Industries Department’s stall in Shilpgram. People of all ages, especially children and farmers, showed keen interest in observing silkworms in their natural state. The stall displayed various types of silk seeds, including mulberry white cocoon, mulberry colored cocoon, mulberry yellow Mysore, mulberry white reeled, tussar spun thread, Dada Kosa, and rally sabu seeds. These are the raw materials used to create Kosa Silk, Mulberry Silk, and famous silk sarees like Banarasi and Kanjivaram.

Visitors to the stall also took the opportunity to gather detailed information about the Rural Industries Department's schemes. Notably, Chhattisgarh is emerging as a leader in cocoon production and textile manufacturing. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the state is committed to promoting forest-based Rural industries. Chhattisgarh has a long-standing tradition in tussar silk production, and through various schemes, it is generating employment and self-employment opportunities for rural families.

Programmes including the Tussar Silk Development and Extension Programme, Palit Daba Tussar Cocoon Production Scheme, Natural Seed Multiplication, and Kosa Production Scheme, as well as Tussar Yarn Making, are contributing to the expansion of basic facilities at Silk and Tussar Centers across the state. In addition, the Rural Industries Department introduced a new initiative—the 'Shehtoot Resham Badi Yojana'—to encourage mulberry plantation and silkworm rearing in the private sector. This scheme, aimed at promoting mulberry silk production and creating sustainable employment in rural areas, targets small and marginal farmers. Under the scheme, assistance is provided for mulberry plantation, maintenance, sericulture building and equipment, as well as irrigation facilities. This support helps farmers establish a mulberry silk industry on their land, ensuring long-term livelihoods.

Farmers participating in the scheme will also receive one month of free training, covering all aspects of mulberry plantation and silkworm rearing. The total assistance under this scheme amounts to nearly Rs 5 lakh, provided on a per-item basis. These initiatives by the Chhattisgarh government are bringing about positive change in the lives of people, strengthening both economic and social conditions, from remote forest to urban areas.

Raipur : At the Chhattisgarh Rajyotsav, the Women and Child Development Department showcased various state and central government initiatives at the fair in Nava Raipur, attracting considerable enthusiasm among attendees. Key programs such as the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh Loan Scheme, Women Helpline Number 181, Sakhi One Stop Center, Beti Padhao Beti Bachao, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, and Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana were prominently featured.

The Mahtari Vandan Yojana aims to empower women in Chhattisgarh, providing monthly support of Rs 1000 to approximately 70 lakh women. The Women Helpline Number 181 offers swift assistance for issues related to physical or mental violence. The Sakhi One Stop Center provides comprehensive support for distressed women under one roof. Additionally, the Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh Rinn Scheme helps women self-help groups achieve financial independence, while the Chief Minister Kanya Vivah Scheme addresses the challenges of lavish weddings. Raipur : On the second day of Rajyotsav at Nava Raipur, the food court at Garh Kaleva was bustling with a large crowd eager to sample Chhattisgarh’s traditional delicacies. Chhattisgarh, famous for its rich cultural heritage, is equally known for its delicious local dishes like Bada, Fara, Cheela, and Bhajia. Among these, Bada, made from 'urad' dal, is a popular dish, especially during weddings and ancestral ceremonies.

Another cuisine Farra prepared from rice flour is served in two variants—sweet, with jaggery syrup, and savory, steamed with added seasonings. Similarly, Cheela comes in both sweet and salty versions. Nunha Cheela, made with salt and rice flour, pairs perfectly with spicy green chutney, while Gurha Cheela, made with jaggery, offers a delightful contrast of flavors. Bhajiyas, made from either ‘urad’ dal or gram flour, are a staple in Chhattisgarhi cuisine.

Visitors were delighted by the authentic taste of these traditional dishes, which are both nutritious and flavorful. Many attendees, including Mrs Kalyani Yadav, Mrs Rajmati Sahu, Mrs Rani Verma from Bemetara, and Mrs Geeta Verma from Abhanpur, expressed their joy at the food offerings, remarking that the flavors closely resembled those prepared in their own homes. The festive food court at Rajyotsav is indeed a treat for those seeking a taste of Chhattisgarh’s culinary traditions.

Raipur : Preparations are underway for the grand celebration of Chhattisgarh State Foundation Day, Rajyotsava 2024, scheduled to take place from November 4 to November 6 at the Rajyotsava venue in Naya Raipur, Atal Nagar. Extensive arrangements are being made, from decorating the main stage to preparing the entire venue. Government departments are actively setting up exhibition stalls to showcase achievements and ongoing projects, with officials from all departments focused on highlighting their contributions.

Rajyotsava 2024 will be inaugurated on November 4 at 6 p.m., at hands of Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav, as the Chief Guest. The program will be presided over by Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, while Dr. Raman Singh, Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, will attend as a special guest. The events on November 5 will commence under the patronage of Governor Shri Raman Deka, with Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai presiding. The State Award Ceremony and the Rajyotsava’s concluding event will take place on November 6, with Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar as the Chief Guest. On this occasion, Governor Shri Raman Deka will preside, and both Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh will attend as special guests.

Over the three-day celebration, Deputy Chief Ministers Shri Arun Sao and Shri Vijay Sharma, Ministers Shri Ramvichar Netam, Shri Dayal Das Baghel, Shri Kedar Kashyap, Shri Lakhanlal Dewangan, Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Shri OP Choudhary, Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, Shri Tankaram Verma, Leader of the Opposition Dr. Charan Das Mahant, Member of Parliament Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, along with MLAs including Shri Rajesh Munat, Shri Purandar Mishra, Shri Motilal Sahu, Shri Anuj Sharma, Shri Guru Khushwant Saheb, Shri Indra Kumar Sahu, and other representatives will participate as distinguished guests.

Renowned artists will enthrall the audience with vibrant and captivating cultural performances during Rajyotsava. The cultural programs will commence at 4:30 p.m. on November 4, with popular Bollywood playback singer Shantanu Mukherjee (Shanu) scheduled to perform at 7:45 p.m. Prior to this, there will be performances by Shri Rikhi Kshatriya’s team, presenting glimpses of 12 folk dances; Shri Mohan Chauhan and team’s Adivindam; regional dance and music by Shri Sunil Soni and team; and Naam Ramayan by Shri Vidya Varchasvi.

On November 5, starting at 5 p.m., the program will feature ‘Sanskritik Leher Ganga’ by Shri Puranik Sahu, folk tunes by Shri Surendra Sahu, Bhola Yadav, and team; ‘The Moonlight Raga’ by Shri Mohan Naidu and team; and performances by Rajesh Awasthi, Ms. Aru Sahu, and Ms. Neeti Mohan. The final day, November 6, will include Anurag Star Night by Shri Anurag Sharma, an ‘India’s Got Talent’ Mallakhamb act by Shri Manoj Prasad, ‘Magic Bastar’ by Shri Savi Srivastava, and a musical performance by Pawan Deep and Arunita.

Throughout the event, the Government of Chhattisgarh will organize a grand and visually appealing exhibition at the Rajyotsava venue. A Craft Village will be set up to display and sell a variety of Chhattisgarh’s handicrafts. Large domes have been constructed at the venue for the exhibitions: Dome-1 and Dome-2 will feature government department stalls, Dome-3 will showcase commercial enterprises, and Dome-4 will host public sector institutions. Shilp Gram, Food Court, and Meena Bazaar are expected to be major attractions for attendees at Rajyotsava.
