Regular distribution of ration to eligible ration card holders'

Raipur : The Food Inspector inspected the ration shops of Sahaspur Lohara, a development block of Kabirdham district. In the investigation, ration of the allocation of the month of July 2024 has been stored in the ration shops and the shop operator was found to have distributed ration to 250 ration card holders on 24th and 25th July 2024 by taking finger prints in "biometric".
The Sarpanch and other villagers of Gram Panchayat Rakse present to the Food Inspector Sahaspur Lohara told that the ration has been given yesterday to the ration card holders who were biometrically tested by the vendor and the ration distribution work is being done to the remaining ration card holders.
It is to be noted that the Sub-Divisional Officer Revenue had given instructions to distribute ration to all eligible ration card holders by holding a meeting of fair price shop operators in Janpad Panchayat Sahaspur Lohara, in compliance with the said instructions, ration of the month of July 2024 is being distributed to all eligible beneficiaries by the fair price shop operators. Last day, the complaint published in the media titled “Even after biometric, the salesman is not giving rice to the rural ration card holder” was investigated by the food inspector Sahaspur Lohara. The complaint was found to be baseless in the investigation, the report of which was made to the collector.
40 talented archers chosen for Raipur's Residential Archery Academy

Players to get top-notch facilities and professional training
Raipur : A total of 40 archers have been selected for the Residential Archery Academy operated by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department in Raipur. The state-level selection trials were held on June 25 and 26 at the Swami Vivekananda Stadium and the Archery Arena in Sports Directorate Campus in Raipur.

Under the guidance of Sports Director Smt. Tanuja Salam, the selection trials were conducted thoroughly by the nodal officer Shri Chetan Kumar Shrivas, Administrator of the Sports Academy in Raipur. The selection committee, comprising trainers from the Sports Authority of India Training Center Raipur and the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare (NIS), conducted motor ability, medical, sports skill, and mental ability tests to assess the fitness of the players. Selection was based on merit and performance, with only those meeting the prescribed standards being chosen in the 13 to 17 age group.

Players from various districts across the state participated in the trials. The selected players include 5 girls and 9 boys from Raipur district, 7 girls from Surguja, 2 boys and 4 girls from Dhamtari, 5 girls and 2 boys from Mahasamund, 3 boys from Narayanpur, 1 boy from Bilaspur, 1 boy from Kondagaon, and 1 girl from Gariaband district. These players will be admitted to the academy within 10 days. In case any selected player is unable to join, admission will be offered to waitlisted candidates based on merit.

Players admitted to the sports academy will receive facilities including free accommodation, meals, educational support, costume, sports equipment, accident insurance, and participation in competitions as per the Sports Academy Operations Rules, 2014. The academy aims to prepare residential players for international-level competition, facilitated by NIS trainers appointed by the state government. Besides, international-level archery players and coaches will periodically visit the academy for specialized training sessions.

Raipur : Following Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai's directive to take action against negligent officials during a review of Jal Jeevan Mission works, the Public Health Engineering Department suspended six Executive Engineers on July 19. Additionally, the department has issued show-cause notices to Executive Engineers from four districts. After approval from Deputy Chief Minister and Public Health Engineering Minister Shri Arun Sao, the department has taken significant action. The department has issued suspension orders for six Executive Engineers and show-cause notices to four others.
The Public Health Engineering Department, considering negligence in Jal Jeevan Mission works and erroneous reporting as a serious dereliction of duty and indiscipline, has suspended with immediate effect the following officials: Shri Jagdish Kumar (Executive Engineer, Jagdalpur), Shri U.K. Rathiya (Executive Engineer, Bilaspur), Shri Chandrabadan Singh (Executive Engineer, Baikunthpur), Shri R.K. Dhananjay (Executive Engineer, Bemetara), Shri S.P. Mandavi (Executive Engineer, Ambikapur), and Shri J.L. Mahla (Executive Engineer, Sukma). Furthermore, show-cause notices have been issued to Shri Utkarsh Pandey (Executive Engineer, Durg), Shri Sukrant Sahu (Executive Engineer, Balod), Shri S.S. Paikra (Executive Engineer, Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur), and Shri Kamal Kanwar (Executive Engineer, Sarangarh-Bilaigarh).
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai reviewed the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission, describing it as an ambitious scheme of both the state and central governments. He instructed officials to work diligently and complete the set targets on time, urging them to finish the ongoing mission’s work as soon as possible. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao also expressed dissatisfaction with the mission's progress and directed officials to ensure 100% tap water connections in as many villages as possible. He emphasised that negligence in the Jal Jeevan Mission works would not be tolerated, and strict action would be taken against officials who were careless or submitted erroneous reports.
During their suspension period, these officials will receive a subsistence allowance as per the rules. The Public Health Engineering Department has instructed the four Executive Engineers who received show-cause notices to submit their responses within 15 days of receiving the notice. If no response is received within the stipulated time, it will be assumed that the concerned Executive Engineers have nothing to say in this regard, and the government will proceed with disciplinary action.

Shri Bharat Lal Sahu, a constable of the Special Task Force (STF), lost his life on July 17 after being caught in an IED blast set by Maoists during a search operation in the forests of Mandimaraka in Bijapur district. The late Bharat Lal Sahu was a resident of Mowa Bazar in Raipur.

Condemns the Incident of Violence in Tarrem Area of Bijapur District
Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has paid tribute to the martyrs of the Maoist violence. He expressed his condolences to the families of the martyred personnel.
Chief Minister said that he has received the tragic news of an IED blast carried out by Maoists in Tarrem area of Bijapur district, in which two STF personnel were martyred and four were injured. He prayed for the peace of departed souls and for the swift recovery of the injured personnel.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the Maoists are perturbed by the government's operations to eradicate maoism, which is why they are resorting to cowardly acts. He affirmed that the sacrifice of the security personnel will not be in vain and that the fight against Maoism will continue until its complete eradication.

Chief Minister Shri Sai and Minister Shri Mandaviya discuss employment generation, labour welfare and expansion of sports facilities
Raipur : Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai met Union Minister of Labour, Employment, Youth and Sports Affairs Shri Mansukh Mandaviya on 17 July. He urged him to provide more assistance for employment generation, labour welfare and expansion of sports facilities in Chhattisgarh.

During the meeting at his residence in New Delhi, the Chief Minister informed him about the progress made in the fields of labour, employment, and sports in the state. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma was also present at the meeting.
Chief Minister Sai also informed at the meeting that the Chhattisgarh Government has taken several important steps to protect the interests of the workers. These include an increase in the minimum wage rate, implementation of labour welfare schemes and creation of new employment opportunities. The Chief Minister sought more cooperation from the Central Government to reduce the rate of unemployment in the state.
In the realm of youth affairs and sports, the Chief Minister informed that sports facilities are being expanded in the state. He highlighted that the Chhattisgarh Government has initiated various schemes to promote sports talent in rural and tribal areas. The Chief Minister appealed to Union Sports Minister Shri Mandaviya for increased support from the Central Government to enhance these schemes, enabling the state's youth to excel at national and international levels.
Shri Mandaviya commended the Chief Minister's efforts and praised the steps taken towards development in the state. He assured that the Central Government would extend all possible support to Chhattisgarh.
Acting on Deputy CM's Instructions: Chlorination and cleanliness campaign of water sources begins in Kabirdham district

Raipur : A special campaign for chlorination and cleanliness of all public and private water sources has commenced in the Kabirdham district. The Panchayat and Rural Development, Health, and PHE departments have initiated this effort to ensure the cleanliness of all water sources in the district. The objective of this campaign, initiated on the instructions of Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, is to ensure the supply of pure and clean drinking water in rural areas.
A total of 13,538 water sources, including wells, hand pumps, and solar pumps, are being chlorinated across the development blocks of the district. This campaign also includes cleanliness work in tribal-dominated areas. Acting on the Deputy Chief Minister's instructions, the Collector has assigned joint responsibility for this work to the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Health Staff, and Public Health Engineering Department.

To implement this initiative, five teams have been formed in each development block of the district, focusing on chlorination efforts. Besides, the Health Department and Mitanins at the village level have been involved in this work.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma instructed the preparation of a special action plan to prevent seasonal and waterborne diseases. He stated that local panchayat teams should undertake special efforts to ensure the chlorination and cleanliness of water sources in all gram panchayats.
This campaign aims to ensure the supply of pure and clean drinking water to the villagers, thereby reducing health-related issues. District Collector has been directed to regularly monitor all concerned officers and review the progress of the campaign.

Suggestions of Youth, Farmers, Women, and Intellectuals are being sought
Raipur : Finance Minister Shri OP Choudhary, on behalf of Chhattisgarh NITI Aayog, inaugurated the consultative programme organized today at local Circuit House for compilation of the "Chhattisgarh Vision Document 2047". At the onset, Finance Minister Shri Choudhary commenced the programme by offering flowers to the portrait of Chhattisgarh Mahtari and lighting a ceremonial lamp.

Youth, farmers, women, and intellectuals from different parts of the state are participating in this consultative programme to share their aspirations and visions for a 'Developed India' and a 'Developed Chhattisgarh'. The concluding session of the programme will be held at 3 PM, where Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai will engage in dialogue with the youth, farmers, women, and intellectuals.

Welcoming the attendees, Finance Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary stated that all participants are esteemed individuals in their respective fields. He emphasized that their ideas could significantly contribute to the progress of the nation as well as of the state. Minister Shri Choudhary extensively discussed the topics such as export-oriented industries, green energy, solar energy, ethanol-based technology, and production-linked incentives.
The programme was also addressed by Chief Secretary and Vice Chairman of the State Policy Commission Shri Amitabh Jain, Member Secretary Shri Anup Srivastava, and Member Shri K. Subramanyam.
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has set a goal for India to become a developed nation by 2047. To ensure the state plays an effective role in realizing this vision, Chhattisgarh NITI Aayog will release the Vision Document titled ‘Amrit Kaal: Chhattisgarh Vision @ 2047’ on the upcoming State Foundation Day, 1 November 2024. Finance Minister Shri OP Choudhary will present the Vision Document to the public.
Chhattisgarh NITI Aayog has initiated consultations with all departments and sector experts to prepare the Vision Document related to ‘Amrit Kaal: Chhattisgarh Vision @ 2047’. Eight working groups have been formed for this purpose, and continuous meetings are being held for deliberations. The Commission has also launched a web portal, "Mor Sapna-Mor Viksit Chhattisgarh," available at http://sdgspc.cg.gov.in/viksitcg/#home, inviting public representatives and citizens to share their visions for a developed Chhattisgarh.
The event was attended by Secretary of the Planning Department Shri Ankit Anand, Joint Director Dr. Neetu Gourdia, departmental officials, and a large number of youth, farmers, women, and intellectuals from across the state.

Raipur : Health Minister of Chhattisgarh, Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, conducted an intensive inspection of the Bijapur District Hospital during his one-day visit. He visited various wards and interacted with patients and their families.

Arriving in Bijapur on the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Minister Shri Jaiswal inquired about the health services available. He called for an investigation into the causes of the deaths of two female students and issued the necessary guidelines to prevent such incidents in the future. Shri Jaiswal instructed doctors to provide better treatment and mandated malaria testing for all patients visiting the district hospital, including the parents of malaria-positive children.

During his visit, the minister met with all patients individually, inquiring about their treatment and issuing directives for the best possible care. Observing a shortage of ICU beds, he immediately approved 10 additional beds and two dialysis machines. He also announced that the government will soon sanction a new, fully-equipped building for the district hospital to improve healthcare facilities.

Shri Jaiswal was accompanied by former minister Shri Mahesh Gagda. Additional Chief Secretary of Health Shri Manoj Kumar Pingua, Health Director Shri Rituraj Raghuvanshi, Mission Director of the National Health Mission Shri Jagdish Sonkar, Collector Shri Anurag Pandey, CEO of Zila Panchayat Shri Hemant Ramesh Nandanwar, and other public representatives were also present.
Chhattisgarh Government's Efforts to Eradicate Malaria are Yielding Significant Results

State Positivity Rate Drops from 4.60% to 0.51%
Raipur : The prevention of diseases like malaria in the dense forests and inaccessible areas of Bastar division has always been a major challenge. But due to the strategic and consolidated efforts, the situation has rapidly improved. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, considering the monsoon season, has directed the health department to take proactive measures for prevention of seasonal diseases. Measures taken in compliance to these instructions of Chief Minister have resulted in a significant reduction in number of malaria cases across the state, including Bastar, marking a major achievement. Following the Chief Minister's instructions to intensify efforts towards malaria eradication during the rainy season, Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal is currently touring Bijapur district.

Out of the total number of malaria cases in Chhattisgarh, 61.99% originate from Dantewada, Bijapur, and Narayanpur. The active measures taken by the health department and the initiatives under the Chief Minister's guidance have led to a substantial decrease in malaria cases in these districts. According to the annual parasite incidence rate, the malaria rate in Chhattisgarh dropped from 2.63% in 2018 to 0.99% in 2023. Similarly, in Bastar, this rate decreased from 16.49% to 7.78%.

Under the malaria eradication campaign, the malaria positivity rate has declined from 4.60% to 0.51% over the course of nine phases from 2020 to 2023. The tenth phase of this campaign concluded on July 5, 2024. As part of this campaign, 16.97 lakh insecticide-treated mosquito nets were distributed across 22 districts in the state.

In the malaria case report released by the health department for the first half of 2024, as many as 1,660 cases in Bastar, 4,441 in Bijapur, 1,640 in Dantewada, 259 in Kanker, 701 in Kondagaon, 1,509 in Narayanpur, and 1,144 in Sukma were documented. Consequently, the health department has enhanced case monitoring and strengthen the treatment facilities in all the districts.

Following the instructions of Chief Minister, state government has appealed people to immediately visit the nearest health center upon noticing malaria symptoms and seek timely treatment. Government's vigilance and public awareness has led to significant reduction in the number of malaria cases in the state.

Raipur : A delegation from the 16th Finance Commission of India, led by Chairman Shri Arvind Panagariya, visited the library of Nalanda Parisar late on Thursday. Finance Minister Shri OP Choudhary accompanied the delegation.

Members Dr. Soumya Kanti Ghosh and Smt. Annie George Mathew along with Commission Secretary Shri Ritvik Pandey were also present. Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh and other officials welcomed the delegation with roses and Vivekananda literature.

The delegation inquired about the library's functioning, seating arrangements for students, book issuance procedures, admission process, fees, and security measures.

Shri Panagariya praised Nalanda Parisar, stating, "It is a very good thing that the library has a favorable environment and excellent facilities for students to study. In such an environment, students are studying with full concentration even late at night. There are various arrangements that will help them achieve their goals. Efforts should be made to implement such a model in other places."

He interacted with students studying there, who asked questions related to the Commission. Shri Panagariya and other members provided insights into the working system of the Finance Commission of India.

Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh informed the Commission members that library membership is available for a fee of Rs 500. Books are purchased periodically based on student demand, with high-demand books acquired in larger quantities to ensure accessibility for members. The library offers a 24/7 study facility for students.

In addition to the library, seating arrangements have been made outside. Dr. Singh also showed the delegation the ground floor, first floor, and rooftop of the library, mentioning plans for additional seating on the rooftop due to high demand.

Innovation in Library Management: RFID System demonstrated to delegation

The officials informed the delegation that an RFID system has been implemented in the library, incorporating a chip in each ID card. This chip is scanned during the book issuance process. A signal alerts the management if a book is taken out without being properly issued, providing real-time information about any unauthorized removals. During the visit, the delegation observed this system in action. When an Indian Polity book was taken out without being issued, the alarm sounded, prompting positive reactions from the members. They expressed satisfaction with this security measure.

Chhattisgarh Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, is committed to provide proper housing facility to the homeless families in the state.
This scheme has not only elevated the living standard for people but has also offered them secure and stable housing. With the fulfillment of the guarantee of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the good governance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, a large number of poor families now have roof over their head and a the sense of security that comes with a permanent residence.

This initiative of Chhattisgarh Government has realized the dream of Mr. Ravindra Pandey and his elder brother, Mr. Kashiram Pandey, residents of Kumharpara in Narayanpur district, to have their own house. Mr. Ravindra Pandey stated that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has proven to be a blessing for him. Reflecting on the hardships of the past, he recalled the difficulties of living in a makeshift house. Seasonal challenges included a leaking roof during rains and sleepless nights due to the cold.
With a permanent house now, these problems have been resolved. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), he has been provided a pucca house and the house is registered in the names of him and his elder brother. He further mentioned that his family receives Rs 1,000 per month under "Mahatari Vandan Yojana" and has sold paddy at a support price of Rs 3,100 this year. Under "Ujjwala Yojana", the state government has provided him with a gas connection. Mr. Ravindra expressed his gratitude to the esteemed Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai for the effective implementation of these welfare schemes.
The main objective of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is to provide proper housing facility to the economically weaker families in the state, enabling them to lead a dignified life free of hardships. Today, even people living in remote areas are receiving the benefits of this scheme. The government under Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai’s good governance has transformed the lives of many families through such schemes. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana not only provides housing but also offers an opportunity for a secure and stable life.
Elderly Sumrita Bai to receive free ration every month

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has instructed officials to rapidly process applications for essential services such as ration cards for the public. Consequently, efforts are underway to expedite the processing of ration card applications received through Jandarshan.
In a similar instance, immediate action was taken on the application submitted by Sumrita Bai, a resident of Gram Panchayat Arda in the Katghora development block of Korba district, for an Antyodaya ration card at the Collector's Jandarshan. Collector Shri Ajit Vasant promptly instructed the Food Officer to issue an Antyodaya ration card to the eligible Sumrita Bai. Following quick processing, the Antyodaya ration card was delivered to Sumrita Bai at her home through the Gram Panchayat Sarpanch.
Likewise, Shri Praveen Kumar, from Jorhadabari village in the Pali development block, voluntarily applied at Jandarshan to have his name removed from his mother's ration card. Upon receiving instructions from the Collector, the Food Officer promptly deleted Praveen Kumar's name as a dependent member.
It is worth mentioning that the 'Antyodaya Anna Yojana' has been in effect since March 2001 to assist poorest families. The scheme ensures eligible households receive 35 kg of rice per month at the highly subsidized rate of Rs 1 per kg. Currently, all Antyodaya ration card holders are receiving free rice under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana.

She faced various seasonal problems—sometimes the roof would leak, and other times the cold would hinder a full night's sleep. Now, with a pucca house, these issues have been resolved. With tears in her eyes, she expressed that, although she has grown old, her future generations will also benefit from this house. The main objective of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is to provide pucca houses to economically weaker families, allowing them to live without difficulties. Now, the benefits of this scheme are reaching people even in remote areas.

Chirayu Scheme Brings Life-Changing Improvement: Seven-year-old Lakshmi gets a prosthetic leg

Raipur : The Chirayu team, conducting health check-ups in schools and Anganwadi centers under the National Child Health Programme, is making significant strides in child health. As part of this initiative, the Kasdol Chirayu team, with assistance from Narayan Seva Sansthan, Udaipur, provided a prosthetic leg to 7-year-old Lakshmi from Amruwa village, who was born without a leg.
Lakshmi's father, farmer Shri Harichand Bariha, shared that she was born without a left leg, causing major challenges in her daily life. She struggled with basic tasks and couldn't participate in sports like other children despite attending the village school.
The Chirayu team, led by Dr. Abhishek Yadav, Dr. Savita Dhrtlahare, Ajendra, Sapna, and Padmini, visited Lakshmi at her school and recommended an artificial limb. Kasdol's Block Medical Officer, Dr. Ravi Shankar Ajgalle, mentioned that the Chirayu team had been coordinating with Narayan Seva Sansthan Udaipur for three months. At a camp organized by Narayan Seva Sansthan in Raipur on June 30, Lakshmi received a prosthetic leg free of cost, bringing great joy to her entire family.
According to Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. M.P. Mahiswar and District Program Manager Srishti Mishra, the Chirayu team routinely screens children's health at schools and Anganwadi centers, providing necessary treatment free of charge. In complex cases like Lakshmi's, they facilitate referrals and inclusive care without financial burden. The Chirayu initiative addresses 44 different conditions including cleft lips, congenital cataracts, joint deformities, and hearing impairments, ensuring accessible treatment for all.
Collector Shri Deepak Soni commended the Chirayu team's efforts and urged quick action and support for similar cases in the future.
