Raipur : Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, released the book named 'Modi Hai To Sambhav Hai' at his official residence in Raipur on Saturday night. The book is authored by renowned litterateur and lyricist, Shri Rameshwar Das Vaishnav.

While releasing the book, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai extended his best wishes to the author and said that under the leadership of the illustrious Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, historic achievements have been made in every sector, leading to the holistic development of all sections of society. He commended the author for his literary contribution and conveyed his heartfelt congratulations.

The book presents the accomplishments of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in a unique manner. Several notable personalities attended the book launch, including the Chief Minister's Press Officer Shri Alok Singh, prominent theatre artist Shri Anil Sharma, writers Shri Vijay Mishra 'Amit' and Shri Satish Sharma, as well as journalists Shri Yogesh Mishra, Shri Pramod Mishra, and Shri Hemant Sharma.

Instructions given for Magisterial Inquiry of arson incident

Rengakhar police station in-charge and entire staff transferred

Raipur : Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday ordered the removal of Kabirdham Collector and SP after an arson incident reported in Kawardha’s Loharidih village of Kabirdham district.

Chief Minister has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the tragic death of Shri Raghunath Sahu, who died in an arson incident after the death of Shri Shivprasad Sahu on September 15 in Loharidih village. In response to this incident, the Chief Minister has removed 23 police personnel from their posts including the Inspector and Assistant Sub-Inspector at Rengakhar police station due to allegations of police brutality against villagers.

Following the Chief Minister's directives, the Kabirdham district ‘s Collector Shri Janmejaya Mahobe has been replaced by Shri Gopal Verma while

Superintendent of Police Shri Abhishek Pallav has been replaced by Shri Rajesh Kumar Agarwal. Additionally, IPS officer Mr Vikas Kumar, who was serving as Additional Superintendent of Police in Kabirdham, has already been suspended.

To execute the magisterial inquiry the team of officials includes Kabirdham’s Collector and District Magistrate along with Additional District Magistrate Mr Nirbhay Kumar Sahu as the investigating officers. They had been directed to investigate and submit a report within 30 days.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized that any negligence in such incidents will not be tolerated in the future and strict action will be implemented against those accountable.

Raipur : Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Shri Vishnu Deo Sai chaired the Cabinet Meeting today at Mahanadi Bhavan, Mantralaya, where several significant decisions were taken. Cabinet has approved the proposal to amend the reconstitution orders of Chhattisgarh State Rural and Other Backward Classes Development Authority, Surguja Tribal Development Authority, Scheduled Caste Development Authority, Mid-Area Tribal Development Authority, and Bastar Tribal Development Authority.

Cabinet has also approved partial amendments in the reconstitution orders of the five development authorities established in the state. These amendments expand the scope of representation in all five authorities. Now, all the ministers of the state’s cabinet, as well as the Members of Parliament (Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha) and District Panchayat Chairpersons of the respective authority areas, will be included as members. Additionally, the Principal Secretary/Secretary of the Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department will also be nominated as members. All other existing members will remain unchanged.

Chhattisgarh State Rural and Other Backward Classes Development Authority

The cabinet has approved the proposed amendment to the reconstitution order of Chhattisgarh State Rural and Other Backward Classes Development Authority. In accordance with this amendment, Chief Minister will serve as the Chairman, and the MLAs of the region will serve as the Vice-Chairman of the Authority. Previously, only three ministers were members of the Authority, but with the approval of the proposed amendment, all the cabinet ministers of the state will be appointed as the members of the Authority. Members of Parliament (Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha) and District Panchayat Presidents of the area under the Authority will also be included as members. Likewise, Principal Secretary/Secretary of the Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department will also be a member of the Authority. Position of the 35 MLAs and other members who were previously included in the Authority will remain unchanged.

Surguja Tribal Development Authority

The order to reconstitute Surguja Tribal Development Authority has been amended. Hon’ble Chief Minister will serve as the Chairman of the Authority, and the MLAs (reserved for Scheduled Tribes) of the region will serve as the Vice-Chairman. Previously, only the Minister for Tribal Welfare and the Finance Minister were included as members. But now, as a result of the amendment, Members of Parliament (Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha), and District Panchayat Presidents from the tribal-dominated districts of the authority area will be included members of Surguja Tribal Development Authority. Additionally, a maximum of two social workers and experts associated with tribal development (nominated by the state government), the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary/Secretary of the Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department, and the Principal Secretary/Secretary to Chief Minister will serve also as members of Surguja Tribal Development Authority. The 14 MLAs who were previously appointed will continue to serve as members of the Authority.

Scheduled Caste Development Authority

As per the approved amendments, Hon’ble Chief Minister will serve as the Chairman of Scheduled Caste Development Authority, and the MLAs (reserved for Scheduled Castes) will serve as the Vice-Chairman. In place of two ministers, all the ministers of the state cabinet, Members of Parliament (Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha), and District Panchayat Presidents (Scheduled Castes) will now be members. Additionally, a maximum of two social workers and experts associated with Scheduled Caste development (nominated by the state government), the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary/Secretary of the Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department, and the Principal Secretary/Secretary to Chief Minister will also serve as members. The 10 MLAs who were already appointed as members will continue to serve in the same capacity.

Mid-Area Tribal Development Authority

Chief Minister will serve as the Chairman, and the MLAs (reserved for Scheduled Tribes) of the region will serve as the Vice-Chairman. As per the amendment to the reconstitution order, all the ministers of the state cabinet, Members of Parliament (Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha), and District Panchayat Chairpersons of the authority area will be included as members of the Authority. A maximum of two social workers and experts associated with tribal development (nominated by the state government), the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary/Secretary of the Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department, and the Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary/Secretary will serve as members. The 12 MLAs who were previously included will continue to serve as members.

Bastar Tribal Development Authority

As per the amendments approved today at the Cabinet Meeting, Chief Minister will serve as the Chairman of the Authority, and the MLAs (reserved for Scheduled Tribes) of the area will serve as the Vice-Chairman. In place of the previously included two ministers, all the ministers of the cabinet, Members of Parliament (Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha), and District Panchayat Chairpersons from the tribal-dominated districts of the authority area will be appointed members of the authority.

A maximum of two social workers and experts associated with tribal development (nominated by the state government), the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary/Secretary of the Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department, and the Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary/Secretary will serve as members. Status of the 12 MLAs who were previously appointed as members will remain unchanged.

Cabinet has also approved a grant of Rs 4 crore 56 lakh 72 thousand from the Chief Minister’s discretionary fund for 262 individuals and institutions. In another major decision, Cabinet has sanctioned a comprehensive urban development policy (TDS) for the restructuring of land plots and the implementation of approved development plans across the state. The Housing and Environment Department has been authorized to issue guidelines in this regard.

This urban development policy aims to promote the proper development of public utility land proposed in development plans, discourage encroachments and illegal constructions, and resolve the lack of modern civic amenities for urban populations. The urban development plans will be implemented for residential, commercial, industrial, or other purposes.

Strict action to be taken against negligent officers

Raipur : Chhattisgarh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, is adhering to a zero-tolerance policy on corruption. During the recent held Collectors' Conference, Chief Minister Shri Sai had issued strict instructions to officials emphasizing zero tolerance towards corruption. His firm stance on this issue is being rigorously enforced on the ground. Recently, an incident came to light where new textbooks printed for the 2024-25 academic session by the Chhattisgarh Textbook Corporation were sold as scrap.

Upon receiving complaint regarding the sale of new textbooks to a scrap dealer at Real Board Paper Mill in Silyari, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai took immediate and serious note of the situation. He directed Additional Chief Secretary, Mrs. Renu Pillai, to conduct a thorough investigation of the incident. Findings of the preliminary investigation indicated the negligence of the General Manager of Chhattisgarh Textbook Corporation, Mr. Prem Prakash Sharma, an officer of the State Administrative Service. Consequently, Mr. Sharma has been suspended with immediate effect under Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Classification, Control, and Appeal) Rules, 1966.

After showcasing a firm stance during the Collectors' and SPs' Conference, Chief Minister’s decision to suspend the official reinforces that he will not tolerate administrative negligence under any circumstances.

Chief Minister's decision to assign the investigation of this textbook disposal incident to the most senior officer after the Chief Secretary, signifies that the era of administrative leniency in the state is over. Any act of negligence or corruption will undoubtedly be met with strict action.

It is noteworthy that recently, Chief Minister Sai’s stern approach has been evident in several administrative decisions. He remains uncompromising on critical issues such as education and health. Chief Minister has directed stringent action against officers and employees who display indifference towards their official responsibilities. He affirmed that this government is committed to good governance and maintains zero tolerance towards corruption. Negligence by any officer or employee in the execution of their official duties will not be tolerated, and immediate stringent action will be taken in such cases.

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai provided immediate financial assistance for medical treatments and distributed assistive devices, such as motorised tricycles and walkers, to persons with disabilities during the ‘Jandarshan’ program at his residence in Raipur on September 19. Thousands of people from across the state, representing all age groups, gathered to meet the Chief Minister with their issues and applications. The program, which started at noon and lasted until 7 PM, saw Shri Sai attentively listening to each individual's concerns and issuing prompt instructions for their resolution.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai provided immediate financial assistance to people in need of medical treatments

During the event, the Chief Minister handed over a cheque of Rs. 1 lakh to Usha Thakur from Amapara, Raipur, for her oral cancer treatment. He also provided a cheque of Rs. 25,000 for the treatment of Roshan Sahu's 8-year-old son from Gudhiyari, Raipur, and a cheque of Rs. 15,000 to divyang artist Vivek Bhonsle for the purchase of musical instruments. Additionally, Shri Sai distributed motorised tricycles to divyangs Rajuram Vacham and Leelashankar Sahu, a wheelchair to Mohammad Rashid Qureshi, an elbow crutch to Indrasan Goswami, and a walker to Vivek Sharma.

Special arrangements for seating and refreshments were made for the visitors as per the Chief Minister's instructions. To ensure a smooth experience for everyone, the entry process at the Chief Minister's residence was streamlined, and a mobile medical unit was set up to offer health check-ups for the attendees

During the Jandarshan program, Shri Sai also met with Vinod Kumar Lakra from Kadelkachhar village in Jashpur district, who requested the initiation of road construction from Junadih to Barkani. Villagers from Maldi in the Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district appealed for the protection of their village reservoir from encroachment and action against those responsible. The Chief Minister assured them of an investigation and appropriate action. Responding to complaints about the lack of doctors and inadequate treatment at the Bilaigarh Community Health Centre, Shri Sai instructed the Collector to take effective measures.

Additionally, visually impaired Kumari Rupvarsha from Jashpur requested an Orbit Reader device to assist with her studies, while Durgesh Nandini Rathore from Kharsiya in Raigarh district sought land on lease for vegetable cultivation and fish farming. The Chief Minister directed the Collector of Raigarh to take appropriate action. For Sagar Dewangan from Durg, who lost his left hand in an accident, Shri Sai instructed the social welfare department officials to provide a free artificial limb.

Chief Minister encourages young female athletes

The Chief Minister also took the opportunity to encourage young female athletes. Chain Kumari Nishad from Mahasamund and Ranjita Khalko from Raipur, who won bronze medals in the Asian Cup Beach Woodball Championship held in South Korea from August 25 to 30, attended the Jandarshan program. Shri Sai invited both athletes to the stage, boosted their morale, and took photographs with them.

The state has been allocated Rs 1,171 crore from the central government for the improvement of its roadways, education, infrastructure, and healthcare sectors. Chhattisgarh now ranks among the top five states receiving special assistance under the Centre’s Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) scheme. In fact, Chhattisgarh has surpassed states such as Assam, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Tripura, Goa, and Sikkim.

Chhattisgarh Government is consistently advancing its initiatives to enhance the ease of living and improve the standard of living for its people. From Bastar to Surguja, the government has been proactive in understanding the challenges faced by various sections of society and taking swift decisions for their welfare. This approach has fostered a stronger bond between the government and the public, which is why Chhattisgarh ranks among the top five states in the Centre's CAPEX scheme.

Simplifying the process for obtaining No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for various business and industrial units affiliated with governmental departments further highlights Chief Minister Shri Sai’s visionary approach towards strengthening the ease of living. The state is swiftly working towards enhancing the lives of ordinary citizens by aligning with the Centre’s digital public infrastructure policies.

Whether it’s connecting the youth to entrepreneurship or disbursing short-term agricultural loans to farmers, the Chhattisgarh government is making transformational strides, the impact of which is already visible. Raipur : A pickup vehicle carrying 25 to 30 devotees returning from the Shiva Dham Kailash Cave in Jashpur district overturned after falling into a deep ravine, injuring several passengers. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai directed the district administration to ensure proper medical care for the injured. The district administration has dispatched ambulances along with medical teams to the accident site. The injured have been taken to Bagicha Hospital, with those in serious condition referred to Ambikapur for further treatment.

The accident occurred near Songersa in the Bagicha police station area. Upon receiving news of the accident, local authorities, including the subdivisional officer and police, were sent to the site to assist with rescue operations. Nearby villagers played a crucial role in quickly transporting the injured to the hospital using their vehicles.

Raipur : In a welfare move, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday announced the launch of duo schemes of Annapurna Dal-Bhat Center in all the districts of the state and Atal Utkrisht Shiksha Sahayata Yojana to provide free education facilities to the children of registered labor families in the recognized residential schools.

In the program organized at Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya campus, Chief Minister congratulated the labourer and workers on Vishwakarma Day, transferred an amount of Rs 49.43 crore to more than 57,000 registered families under various schemes through DBT to their accounts.

Chief Minister Shri Sai honoured the Shramveers by presenting them Shawls. On this occasion, he released the coffee table book 'Cradles of Hope' prepared by the Labour Department. The programme was presided over by Labour Minister Shri Lakhanlal Dewangan.

Chief Minister Shri Sai appreciated the Shramev Jayate App and Shramik Helpline number launched by the Labour Department in the interest of workers. He said that during the first term of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, he worked as the Minister of State for Labour at the Centre for around three years. At that time workers received very low pension amounts and later on the initiative of the Prime Minister, this amount was increased to Rs 1000. They were eligible for availing Provident Fund (PF) along with allotment of a universal numbers to the workers. Through this universal number, workers were entitled for various benefits across the country. Previously, when labourers did not claim their PF amounts, the pending sum of Rs 27,000 crore was paid out.

Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh said, “State government has given top priority to good governance and transparency in the implementation of schemes. An assistance amount has been sent to the workers through DBT under various schemes. Workers are now getting the amount directly in their bank accounts without any involvement of middleman.” Many welfare schemes, which were discontinued by the previous government, had been reinstated by Chief Minister Shri Sai. This is a joyous occasion for the workers, he added.

Labor Minister Shri Dewangan said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, many welfare schemes are being initiated for the benefit of the workers of the state. At present, the state government has provided assistance amount of Rs 235 crore to the workers through different schemes. The direct benefit of which is being received by the workers and their family members.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma said that Shramev Jayate App, Grievance Redressal Portal and Toll Free Number have been started and these services will enable Shramveers to resolve their problems at their convenience. Raipur MP Shri Brijmohan Agarwal said that Shramveers are the backbone of our state and they deserve credit for being one of the most efficient factor in this progress. Our government is always working for the dignity of Shramveers.

Vande Bharat trains will redefine time efficiency : Governor Shri Deka

Symbolizing the spirit of Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat

Raipur : Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated 6 new Vande Bharat Express trains in the country. He flagged off these trains at a program organized in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. While Chhattisgarh also received Vande Bharat train from Durg to Visakhapatnam.

On this occasion, a grand program was organized at Raipur Railway Station in which Governor Shri Ramen Deka attended as the chief guest.

Governor Shri Deka said, “Vande Bharat Express, which runs at an average speed of 130 kilometers per hour, will cover the distance between Durg and Visakhapatnam in just 8 hours. At present other trains cover this distance in 11 hours, but Vande Bharat will set a new benchmark in saving our time. This train will not only make our journeys faster but will also be comfortable and convenient for the passengers,” said Deka.

It is a matter of pride that Vande Bharat Express is a completely domestically manufacture- symbolizes the spirit of "Make in India" and "Atmanirbhar Bharat". Hence, India is not only adopting modern technology but also developing and promoting local manufacturing it country. It is a great example of technological advancement and India's modern railway system, added Deka.

The Governor said that another golden chapter is being added to the history of our state. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, Vande Bharat train is being launched, which will write a new chapter of modernity and speed in the rail services of the country. This is not merely the launch of a train, but a powerful demonstration of our country's progress and self-reliance.

Governor Shri Deka said that these trains will also make unprecedented contribution in the field of tourism, trade, medicine and education and boost local economy. New employment opportunities will be created in the areas related to railways, which will benefit the youth and will also give a new direction to the economic and socio-cultural exchange between Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh.

In the program, Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Shri Tokhan Sahu said that this train will act as a bridge between Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh. This train will reduce travelling time from 12 to eight hours. An amount of more than Rs 20 thousand crore has been approved for the development of railways in Chhattisgarh.

Raipur MP Shri Brijmohan Agrawal said that Vande Bharat Express train is a significant gift for the people of Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Odisha. He said that the railways in Chhattisgarh are developing rapidly.

Deka boarded the Vande Bharat train, interacted with the passengers, and extended his congratulations and best wishes to them.

Durg MP Shri Vijay Baghel, MLA Shri Rajesh Munat, Shri Purandar Mishra, Shri Motilal Sahu, Shri Guru Khuswant Saheb, Shri Doman Lal Korsewada, Shri Gajendra Yadav, former MP Shri Sunil Soni, Mayor Shri Aijaz Dhebar and other public representatives, DRM of Railways, ADRM other officials and representatives of various organizations and dignitaries were present in large numbers in the program. DRM of Railway Division Raipur Shri Sanjeev Kumar expressed his gratitude in the program.

“Chhattisgarh will play a crucial role in contributing to Prime Minister Shri Modi's ambitious target of producing 500 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2030”: Chief Minister Shri Sai

Raipur : Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the fourth Global Renewable Energy Investor’s Meet and Expo (RE-Invest 2024) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, on September 16. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the event and shared insights on the state's ‘Clean and Green Energy’ initiatives.

Chief Minister Shri Sai underscored Chhattisgarh's significant role in contributing to Prime Minister Shri Modi's ambitious target of producing 500 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2030. He highlighted the state's progress in solar, hydroelectric, and biogas energy and shared that 15% of Chhattisgarh's electricity currently comes from renewable sources, with plans to increase this to 45% in the coming years.

Praising Prime Minister Shri Modi's leadership in promoting renewable energy, Shri Sai stated this initiative would boost related industries and address global climate change challenges. He emphasised Chhattisgarh's vast potential for renewable energy production, particularly in remote and forested regions, where the Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA) is actively promoting solar and other non-conventional energy sources.

Shri Sai shared that over 2,500 government buildings, residential schools, and health centres in Chhattisgarh are powered by solar energy. This achievement has garnered international recognition in 2018. He commended Prime Minister Suryaghar Yojana, which is enabling people to sell electricity rather than only consume it, with encouraging results seen in Chhattisgarh. The state has also launched awareness campaigns for the scheme through local camps in urban areas.

Among the state’s innovative renewable energy projects, Shri Sai mentioned a solar plant on railway land between Raipur and Bhilai that powers local trains and plans to set up a 100 kW geothermal power plant in Tatapani, Balrampur district. CREDA has already installed over 150,000 solar irrigation pumps and 230 solar-powered community irrigation systems across the state. Additionally, 25,000 solar drinking water pumps are providing clean water to 6.5 lakh families.

The state government has also commissioned small hydroelectric plants generating 75 MW of energy, with 37 more projects approved. Chief Minister Shri Sai affirmed Chhattisgarh's commitment to contributing to the national goal of achieving zero carbon emissions by 2070.

He emphasised renewable energy's pollution-free and sustainable benefits, adding that the world is moving in this direction, and Chhattisgarh is dedicated to increasing its use. The fourth Global Renewable Energy Investor’s Meet and Expo (RE-Invest) was organised by the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and marked the first time the event was held outside Delhi, with over 40 sessions under the theme "Mission 500 Gigawatts."

Various countries and Indian states participate in RE-Invest 2024

Indian states, including Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Telangana, Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh, along with international partners such as Australia, Denmark, Germany, and Norway, participated in the expo. RE-Invest is a key initiative by the Government of India to showcase the country's renewable energy potential and attract global investment through multilateral dialogues.

Event to be organized at Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya’s Krishi Madapam premises

Raipur : Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai will distribute Rs 49.43 crore to over 57,000 registered workers and their family members through centralized Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) on occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti on Tuesday.

The event will be organized at Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya’s Krishi Madapam premises in Jora Raipur. In this regard, State’s Industry Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Dewangan said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Sai, several welfare schemes are being implemented for the benefit of workers in the state. These schemes are directly benefiting the workers and their family members.

Explaining allocation of funds, Officials from the Labor Department informed that under the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, a fund of Rs 38.37 crore will be distributed to 47,726 construction workers.

Under the Chhattisgarh Unorganized Workers State Social Security Board, a fund of Rs 9.86 crore will be distributed to 6,873 workers.

Additionally, under the Chhattisgarh Labor Welfare Board, Rs 1.19 crore will be distributed to 2,496 workers through DBT. In total, Rs 49.43 crore will be distributed to 57,095 workers through centralized DBT.

E-Bus services to start soon in Raipur, Bilaspur, Korba, and Durg-Bhilai

Citizens will benefit from affordable, reliable and convenient transportation – Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao

Raipur : On the initiative of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the Government of India has approved 240 e-buses for public transportation in Chhattisgarh under the PM E-Bus Service Scheme.

These E-buses will be operated in the capital city Raipur, Bilaspur, Korba, and Durg-Bhilai. The PM E-Bus Service Scheme has been launched by the central government to improve the public transportation infrastructure in urban areas.

Central government approved these 240 e-buses after approving the proposal sent by the State Government's Urban Administration and Development Department. The number of buses allotted for each city includes 100 e-buses for Raipur, 50 each for Bilaspur, Korba, and Durg-Bhilai, and 40 e-buses for Korba.

Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Shri Arun Sao said that financial assistance will be provided by centre for purchase and operations of buses in Chhattisgarh.

A significant portion of the funds will also be used for developing infrastructure such as bus depots in the cities. Under the scheme, three types of buses – standard, medium, and mini - will be operated. The number of buses has been determined based on the population of cities in various states. Shri Sao mentioned that the commencement of e-bus services will lead to improved air quality and environmental preservation in Chhattisgarh's cities due to reduced carbon emissions. The services will also offer citizens comfortable travel with lower energy consumption and better fuel efficiency.

Deputy Chief Minister Sao explained that the PM E-Bus Service Scheme is part of an effort to link central assistance with transparency and performance in states. The scheme will be developed as an alternative or in conjunction with metro systems in cities to provide affordable, reliable, and convenient transportation.

According to the scheme, based on population the targeted cities are categorized into four categories. The cities with populations between 20 lakh to 40 lakh are eligible for 150 buses, cities with populations between 10 lakh to 20 lakh and five lakh to 10 lakh are eligible for 100 buses each and cities with populations below five lakh million are eligible for 50 e-buses. Based on this, Raipur has been approved for 100 medium e-buses, Durg-Bhilai for 50 medium e-buses, Bilaspur for 35 medium and 15 mini e-buses and Korba for 20 medium and 20 mini e-buses.

According to the guidelines of the PM E-Bus Service Scheme, selection of the agency for purchase and operation of buses will be done by central government. The central assistance will be provided based on the number of kilometers operated by the buses. If the buses operate fewer kilometers, the central assistance will be reduced proportionately. Funding will be provided based on the performance of cities. Under the PM E-Bus Service Scheme, a report on bus operations will need to be submitted every three months. To ensure complete transparency in the project and also in issuance of funds from centre the scheme requires a third-party audit.

Raipur : Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Shri Arun Sao, visited the United Nations Headquarters in New York on Thursday during his study tour of the United States. He toured various sections, including the General Assembly Hall and the Security Council Chamber, to gain an understanding of the UN's functioning. Accompanying him on this study tour was Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, Secretary of the Public Works Department. Shri Sao’s visit to the United Nations was made at the invitation of Mr. Anand Pandey, Chief Financial Officer at the UN, who hails from Belsari (Takhatpur) in Bilaspur district. Following the visit, Shri Sao said that it is a matter of immense pride for the entire state of Chhattisgarh that a son of Belsari holds such a prestigious position in one of the world’s most important organizations.

He also inquired about Chhattisgarhi individuals residing in the United States. As a token of appreciation, Shri Sao presented the event organizers with a photograph of an artwork made from the berries of Lord Shri Ram, which was created in Lorami under his initiative.

Addressing the Indian-origin community in New Jersey, Shri Sao emphasized that wherever Indians have settled across the globe, they have significantly contributed to the development of their host countries. He praised the diaspora for their role in upholding India's honor and pride. Shri Sao added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is swiftly moving toward becoming the world's third-largest economy.
