Raipur : The State Government is conducting continuous monitoring and reviews to ensure the availability of domestic LPG within the state and its regular supply to consumers. On March 17, 2026, Food Secretary Smt. Reena Babasaheb Kangale held a review meeting with the Director of Food and the Regional Managers of the three public sector oil companies. During this meeting, she issued directives for the widespread dissemination of WhatsApp numbers, mobile numbers, IVRS numbers, and website URLs to make the online booking system for domestic LPG more accessible. She placed special emphasis on publicizing the new booking numbers issued by the Indian Oil Corporation (Mobile: 8927225667; IVRS: 8391990070) among the general public.

It was reported during the meeting that the Food Department, in coordination with the District Administration, is taking continuous and strict action to curb the misuse of domestic LPG. To date, 1,013 domestic LPG cylinders have been seized across 214 raids; of these, the highest number—392 cylinders—were seized in Raipur district, followed by 201 cylinders in Bilaspur district. These enforcement actions aim to ensure that domestic gas is utilized solely for its intended purposes and that common consumers receive the full benefits of the service.

Food Secretary Smt. Kangale issued clear directives to expedite the fulfillment of all pending LPG bookings. She stated that, to this end, the supply of LPG cylinders has been augmented across all districts to ensure that consumers do not face any inconvenience.

In alignment with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, a balanced and priority-based distribution system for commercial LPG has been implemented within the state to ensure that essential public services remain unaffected. Under this framework, gas supply—commensurate with their respective monthly requirements—will be ensured for hospitals, educational institutions, military and paramilitary camps, prisons, hostels, social welfare institutions, railway stations, and airport canteens. Furthermore, offices, canteens, and guest houses of the Government of India, State Governments, and their Public Sector Undertakings will be provided with commercial gas cylinders up to a limit of 50 percent of their consumption during the preceding months; meanwhile, animal feed manufacturing plants, seed production units, as well as hotels and restaurants, will be supplied within a prescribed limit of 20 percent.

To ensure the prompt resolution of grievances related to LPG booking and supply, the Food Department's call center (1800-233-3663 and 1967) remains operational. Complaints received at the center are being resolved on a priority basis—in coordination with the oil companies—to ensure that consumers receive timely relief.
