Mumbai : On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Kimberly-Clark India and UNICEF India announced a landmark strategic partnership aimed at strengthening the health and well-being of women and adolescent girls across India. The initiative will focus on improving menstrual hygiene and maternal health services in nine key states—Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Gujarat—where access to awareness and healthcare services remains critical.

Through this joint campaign, around 2.88 million adolescent girls, women, and newborns will be directly connected to essential health services and benefits. Additionally, nearly 2.87 million people will be reached through education and behavior change programs aimed at breaking taboos and raising awareness around women’s health.

Speaking on the collaboration, Rahul Asthana, Managing Director of Kimberly-Clark India, emphasized that health and dignity should not be privileges but fundamental rights. He expressed confidence that the partnership—combining UNICEF’s grassroots expertise with the company’s vision of “better care”—will create a meaningful impact on millions of families.

Cynthia McCaffrey, UNICEF India Representative, highlighted that the initiative is a crucial step towards achieving India’s vision of a developed nation. She noted that adolescent health, maternal well-being, and early childhood development are deeply interconnected, and this program will help make healthcare systems more adolescent-friendly at both national and state levels—ensuring a healthier and more prosperous future generation.
