Chief Minister Expresses Strong Displeasure Over Drinking Water Issues and School Examination Results in Surajpur, Koriya and MCB Districts
Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai conducted a surprise inspection tour of Surajpur, Koriya, and Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur (MCB) districts under the 'Sushasan Tihar' campaign to assess the ground-level implementation of government schemes and public welfare programmes. During the visit, the Chief Minister interacted warmly with villagers, listened patiently to their concerns, and reviewed the delivery of essential public services. Shri Sai chaired a high-level review meeting with district officials in Chirmiri of Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district. During the meeting, the Chief Minister expressed deep displeasure over the drinking water crisis in rural areas and the poor performance in school examinations in the three districts. The review meeting took a serious turn after reports of irregularities in fertiliser distribution to farmers surfaced in Koriya district. Taking immediate action, the Chief Minister directed the suspension of Assistant Commissioner and Assistant Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Shri Ayush Pratap Singh, with immediate effect, for irregularities in fertiliser distribution.

The Chief Minister’s compassionate interaction with villagers at the public grievance redressal camp in Gram Rampur of Surajpur district reflected his “people-centric and sensitive leadership style.” During the programme, he met villagers with warmth, personally assisted tendupatta collector women workers in wearing Charan Paduka, participated in annaprashan ceremonies for children, and also named infants during the event. At the same time, his stern response towards administrative negligence highlighted the government’s focus on “transparent and result-oriented governance.”
During the review meeting, Shri Vishnu Deo Sai instructed collectors of all three districts to ensure an uninterrupted drinking water supply in water-scarce regions under all circumstances. He directed that drinking water should be supplied through tankers where needed and warned that any negligence would make the district collectors directly accountable.
The Chief Minister also expressed concern over the school examination results in the three districts and instructed collectors to prepare a stronger action plan for the upcoming academic session. He directed officials to ensure effective monitoring of teaching arrangements in schools to achieve “quality improvement in education outcomes.”
He further instructed district administrations to prepare and implement comprehensive plans to prevent seasonal diseases ahead of the monsoon season. The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure the cleaning and chlorination of all drinking water sources before the rains to prevent waterborne diseases caused by contaminated water.
Reviewing the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the Chief Minister instructed officials to complete all housing construction works within the stipulated timeline while maintaining quality standards. He warned that any irregularities in construction work or complaints from beneficiaries would result in the district collectors being held directly accountable.
The virtual review meeting of officials from the three districts was held at Tansen Bhawan, South Eastern Coalfields Limited, in Chirmiri. The meeting was attended by Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, MLA Shri Bhaiya Lal Rajwade, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Subodh Singh, Special Secretary and Commissioner Public Relations Shri Rajat Bansal, along with collectors, SPs, divisional forest officers, chief executive officers of district panchayats, etc were present .
